Never disappointed here best coffee and filled role in Musselburgh. Thank you Luccas for consistency every visit.

Love coming to luca's, but recently the staff have been rude and their attitude is appalling, I think its shocking that we came to the shop for ice cream at 9:20pm and the staff were taking the stickers for the ice cream away and as she walked away I overheard her say 'they can guess it', my friend asked for vegan ice cream and they asked if it was an allergy she said yes and the staff member proceeded to laugh at her.. im sorry but that is not okay. Maybe ur staff need to learn manners

Been going to Lucas on and off all my life. Had supposed thick 4 scoop milkshake tonight. What a rip off. Server left some of the mix in the jug as it wouldn’t fit in the coffee cup she tried to serve it to me in even though they appeared to have milkshake containers on the shelf. She disappeared before I realised how badly I’d been ripped off as I would have complained. Never getting one of them again. Do not get a milkshake here. Absolute joke.

A review from my visit a while ago: the portion of the ice cream was honest (I’d say even works out cheaper than many other local ice cream shops given the portion), and it tasted nice. However it had ice crystals and therefore really hurts when eating. This I felt was really unacceptable for such a locally established ice cream maker, and made it not worthy of the price. Also I felt the focus now seems to be the restaurant instead of the ice cream.

Delicious icecream and great service- ordered icecream cake on line and it was so easy and I picked it up and had a cheeky wee tub of amazing banana and Nutella- fabby combo!! The birthday boy was delighted with his cake too!

The best and most varieties of ice cream and sorbets. Excellent service and you can order ice cream cakes, how amazing is that.

Lucas makes unequivocally the best ice cream in Scotland. A number of restaurants and chippies use Lucas as their supplier, so you've likely had some if you've ordered ice cream in Edinburgh. I ordered a Huge tub of Fudgy Wudgy, all for myself, I'm not ashamed to admit. The prices are really reasonable, if you compare, they're cheaper than the brand with B&J initials, and they deliver too. The staff & delivery drivers are friendly and professional every time I see them, they know their work, and are always willing to share their favourites if you're not sure what to choose. Well worth a visit.

Very rude stuff I spent nearly 20quid for ice creams and we couldn't seat inside we was ask to leave and seat outside on stone cold weather not great customer service and what a weird rules, I like ice creams but definitely not coming back

Best ice cream ever!!! Lucas will forever be top tier, their bounty and fudgy toffee flavours are my favourite. Very busy on weekends, 20 minutes wait in line but we’ll worth it!

This place is a top spot in Musselburgh and we didn't want to miss it. We tried various flavors of their ice cream and all of them struck a chord. You could try their ice creams if you are in that area. I prefer the fruity flavor and the one with berries that I took was decent.

In my years, I've been to many ice cream shops, but none of them even come close to S Luca's. The staff are always wearing a smile, and it's got a great variety to pick from! If you're vegan, you also have options to try this place out! Though the café is also great, nice service, an easy menu to look at, being able to cater to some modifications made to the food you order. If you're a tourist and want a cold treat on a warm summer's day, S Luca is a go-to.

A brilliant cafe, a big GF section which was very tasty. The ice cream is amazing and the snowballs are well worth stocking up on.

My dad, a Dalkeith man, who moved to Broxburn used to bring me to Luca's in the 70's as a special treat - for both of us. I love Italian ice-cream and so I've been returning ever since. My latest visit didn't disappoint.

Was quiet when we first went in. It quickly filled up. Friendly staff, good choice on the menu. I had the bacon and cheese burger which was lovely. Friendly atmosphere. If you like sweets and ice cream there is a good choice.

My favorite part of our holiday to Scotland! I was born and raised in Ohio and I LOVE hot fudge sundaes. Lucas is the only place in the UK that has proper 'Merica style hot fudge. Fantastic!

Popped in for an ice cream Luca's has always been highly rated, but the staff were rude it was 8 pm, and they seemed as though they had had enough, and I was an inconvenience. With many other dessert places opening, i think staffs attitudes should become a priority.

Great ice cream, prices as expected so not cheap but it is good quality and great range of flavours

Place was busy. Waited 20 mins for a table without a member of staff even speaking to us. We left after the 20 minute wait without a table. I have eaten here before and the food has always been good and service normally very good.

Went to lucas today for lunch had to wait on a table which was fine eventually got 1 sat for ages to be served a waitress said ill be there in a second but never came we then had to ask someone else to be served took the order but food never appeared all the people after us had been served and some had even finished I find this absolutely appalling that we were treated like this for no reason if you have camera's in the restaurant you can check my complaint

- Positive points- Gorgeous ice cream, came on the bus from Dalkeith. Worth the 40 minute journey. I see a lot of people feel the same, as there was a queue and people being dropped off by taxi’s for it. The queue went quickly and there was flavours aplenty, including a very interesting black ice cream (unfortunately I couldn’t try it as it may have had activated charcoal which I can’t have with my medication.) It’s £5 for 3 large scoops, which sounds expensive at first but works out cheaper than other places I’ve been to (Equis and icandy Livingston) as the portions are bigger. Not sure if they do soft serve (mr whippy) but they have a chocolate counter. They also have a cafe but I never saw it so I assume it either has a different entrance or you have to scoot round the counter. There is also a counter selling luxury chocolates. The staff are patient and happy to confirm on the phone when they are open. Luca’s is also dog friendly. We didn’t take our dog in purely as it was busy at the takeaway area and our dog is notoriously greedy! -Negative points- - not much room for queuing, if you were disabled and in a wheelchair you would really struggle and likely have to send someone in for you. No ramp either. - limited menu during winter/cooler weather. We went in march and there wasn’t many flavours on offer. Also, in regards to flavours, some of the ones we saw in march weren’t available yesterday (July) so bear this in mind if you’re looking forward to a particular kind. If you ring up though I’m sure they will be happy to let you know if they have what you’re looking for. - The different flavours and allergens are not displayed clearly enough. I fancied the black ice cream and it was my partner who told me it would likely contain activated charcoal. Some of the flavours have ingredients listed online, but there is a limited amount that do and lots of today’s flavours were not on the website, along with a couple that were displayed online but they didn’t have in store. - This shop is a bit of a trek from the beach, and while they have a small seating area, it’s beside the main road. It’s also right where the queues are. However there are plenty of benches around the grassy patch in front and we usually eat here and then walk to the beach. Overall 4 stars from me (In my photos, I got the rhubarb and custard (orange), strawberry (pink) and blueberry yoghurt (white with purple fruit)

Our golfing group have started using Luca's recently and they have the best scones and filled rolls in the area.

Popped in for a couple of ice creams and was I surprised it was the best ice cream I have had in years and the young lady that served us was so nice and helpful, the ice cream is made in the factory next door, if you are in the area and like ice cream you must pop in and try some, I highly recommend.

It took 45 mins just to pay so I missed the shops now i have no milk

I came in yesterday and bought 7 ice creams tubs to takeaway for care home resident's that where waiting on our mini bus across the road. The lovely assistant helped me carry them to our bus. Her help was greatly appreciated. Such friendly helpful service.

We traveled to Musselburgh just to eat this old fashioned style ice cream parlour. The ice cream was so delicious, tasty and most of all could fulfill your sweet tooth. I chose the Nutty Flavor and it was so yummy.

Foods good, ice cream is brilliant. Don't get caught out right hand side qué is to buy ice cream and then leave, left hand side qué or you can just walk in to the board to wait to be seated inside. Kids menu and adults menu available. Massive tubs of ice cream are available to buy and take home so you can enjoy Lucas ice cream at home.

Popped in to pick up some of the lady's favourite chocolate coated ginger sweets. These are fabulous! Thick dark chocolate, chunky ginger - with a bite. What's not to like? As always, served with a chat and a smile. They're a must when in Musselburgh.

Lovely latte / tea and the scones were delicious! Service was great and very fast. During our visit, it was very busy and did feel a little cramped!

Popped in for ice cream on the first gloriously hot day of the year. There was a queue but the staff kept things moving. The ice creams I had were glorious and my husband much enjoyed his sorbets. 2 scoop waffle cone and 2 scoop tub came in at under £8. Edit: previously put in as 3 star review- should have been 5. 🙄

A regular here and it was as great as always! Decided to try the warm chocolate muffin this time and it was so amazingly good. Staff were friendly as always. Who doesn't love Luca's??? 💜

Was in last night with my girlfriend and son,we ordered 3 pepperoni pizza one word to describe them MAGNIFICENT,then chocolate brownie ice cream,ice cream is in a class of its own,best I’ve ever tasted, the staff are super friendly big 5***** from,be back in a couple of weeks 😁

We took American friends for lunch. Fantastic food and very friendly service. We went back in the evening. They said it was the best pizza they hsd had. Bought some chocolates...wow...great place

It was noisy and the toilet floor was very wet.the fillings for the baked potatoes were rather small and not very hot,all In all very disappointing, this place used to be so much nicer ,such a pity .
