Rustico Lewes in Lewes

Visited Rustico Lewes with a friend and despite being busy, service was exceptionally fast and accommodating. The food was incredible, highly recommend the Mezzuluna and chips for lunch. Delicious, filling and very cheap. Special thanks to Tom, who made the dining experience even more enjoyable and stress-free. Will definitely be coming again.

This was an incredible experience. Awesome value for money, incredible food - wonderful service. This is the jewel in the crown of this kind of food place! We went to the one in Lewes, it felt like we were in continental Europe. Definitely going back - give it a go!!

Appalling experience with Rustico tonight. I was called by the restaurant and told that the delivery driver had attempted to drop off my order and called three times, none of which was true. I was then refused a refund, because the restaurant "couldn't action it". The staff member was chuckling while explaining this to me. I was lost for words.

I have been a regular costumer for this branch. Today I ordered a pizza for my daughter. In the web you can choose time so I choose 18:15. The delivery reached home when we were not in. So they returned to the restaurant. The delivery person told me that he’ll try again but to call restaurant as my food was back there. So I called and explained the situation and kindly ask if I could have a new pizza make cos the one they want to deliver has been cook for 40 mins, to what she rudely answered there is a 15 mins time frame and I am not making you another pizza. She offered me a refund. This woman got anger issues. I do not recommend her services at all.

I’ve always enjoyed eating here because of the various newspaper cuttings from ‘La Gazzetta Dello Sport’ printed on some walls and various Italian items on the walls making it a cosy atmosphere

We got takeaway pizza and pasta while camping. The takeaway pasta was packaged very well so remained hot and the pizza and pasta were both delicious

Absolutely love Rustico. Pizzas are always spot on, lovely staff and nice vibe. We recently had my daughters 6th birthday party here for pizza making and it was brilliant.

The order has never arrived. Worse service. Once they cancelled my order after I made one, and now, 40 minutes after the designated time, it is just now show.

We had a kids pizza party at rustico lewes & the staff were really friendly & accommodating . They were really patient helping the children & I would recommend it. It was great value for money.

Only ordered 1 margarita pizza with an extra £2.50 mozzarella ball which was not on the pizza. Pizza was cold.

Rustico is a great brand and their food is superb. We frequent Hastings and Bexhill and will continue to do so. Our experience at Lewes however was very different. Sat in view of the kitchen we watched Bruno the manager, serve customers, take payments, operate tills, clean tables and remove empty plates, then *without washing his hands* pick up tubs of toppings and salads and sprinkle them on food and plates he served to customers. We saw enough to confirm this was habit and not carelessness. Our food mostly escaped his hands, so save for scraping the salad off a calzone we were able to finish our meal. Other kitchen staff were better trained. Horrible experience. Reported to staff - but he's the manager so who knows if that message got through. We won't be going back to this particular restaurant, but look forward to supporting their other stores.

We ordered a takeaway and kindly sat inside while we waited..It felt comfortable and the staff were friendly..The Pizzas were still hot and fresh when we got back home.. Sadly quality of base, and toppings can only be described as an average meal..

How anyone could eat Domino's/Pizza Hut etc pizza when we have this in the town is beyond me! This is how pizza SHOULD be - perfectly cooked, fresh ingredients and at £10 each for selected flavours, it's also a great deal!

A great, homely, authentic experience. So good to get away from the chains! Lovely staff and great food and drink. Plenty of choice for vegetarians like me.

Pizza turned up 25 minutes late because the delivery person couldn’t find us, which is amazing as given we were on the high street in Lewes and thus a 6 minute walk from the restaurant. And the delivery person was in a car. So…..? But anyway, I’m still giving it 4 star because the food was great, and my Diavola pizza especially was genuinely fantastic. I would totally order it again if I lived here, it would be my go-to pizza. But I would probably stop being so lazy and go pick it up myself.

We’ve been ordering delicious takeaway pizza from Rustico for years, and have just hosted our 7 year old’s birthday party there. Children made their own fabulous mini pizzas with a wide variety of fresh toppings (even vegan cheese), under the guidance of lovely Shelley who is great with kids! We had the back section of the restaurant to ourselves, which was perfect. Plan to have an activity on hand in case there’s a bit of downtime…everyone had lots of fun! Thank you, Rustico! 🎉

Ordered uber delivery and they accepted. Waited 90 minutes but no delivery. Waste of time.

Bravo! This is one of my favourite Italian Restaurants in the area. I love to take my client there for lunch and we both enjoy it very much. Wonderful, simple and original that’s the way. I have tried a variety of pasta dishes always with garlic bread. Guys thank you for the great service:)

We went for a meal there with 2 friends. The pizzas were the best any of us have had before. The deserts were also very good. We will certainly go there again.

Great pizzas….. Early afternoon and mid week. Very friendly service. Their pizza bases are just ‘the best’. Service of 10% was automatically added to the bill…..happy to pay but should not be added…only a group of five, so not a large party. Have also been to Rustico Bexhill……same quality.

This has become our regular lunch place in Lewes. The pizzas are truly excellent: fluffy wood-fired bases, tasty tomato sauce, and a huge variety of toppings so you can make up whatever you like. All of great quality, but not expensive. Good coffee, too. The staff, whom we've got to know (Shelley, Bruno, Marco), are all super-friendly and efficient. It's a comfortable place to come, and seems to work for all types.

I love this place… been a good while since I paid a visit . The pizzas and lasagne were great, sadly didn’t have time to get tucked into the wine list. Thanks Shelly for looking after us… 👍🏼

Couldn’t believe my eyes , I believed it to be the manageress, Utterly shocked by the lack of basic hygiene in complete view of customers, repetitively hacking her flemie cough in to her hands then grabbing handfuls of rocket & shoving them on top of the take away pizzas. Rank !!

We came to Rustico for an athlete’s supper the night before running the Brighton marathon. It didn’t disappoint. Efficient and friendly service, funky interior and good pizza. Very nice and tasty parmigiani de melanzane too…

Quick service (we came in at 12:30 on the bank holiday before it got a bit busier), lots of good options and the food was amazing! Fantastic pizza crust and good dips!!

I had seen this place a few times on my walks around Lewes and finally decided to pay a visit and have lunch and I'm glad I did. I was welcomed by Bruno who was very friendly and welcoming and it was great to be able to speak to him about Italy and the wonderful food it produces. I ordered a Margherita pizza with added mushrooms and artichokes and it was very nice. What I was also happy about was that it didn't taste like it had an abundance of salt which many pizzas tend to have. There was a salt cellar at the table so if I needed to add anymore I would have that option. I then ordered two cannoli (one pistachio and one chocolate) both were nice but as I am a chocaholic I have to say the chocolate one was the best! The food was very nice and the staff were great. As mentioned Bruno was great to talk to and it was nice to discuss Italy and Italian cuisine with him and he then introduced me to the chef, Marco, who was also a great guy and very friendly and I plan on somehow trying to convince him of teaching me how to make a pizza!

Treated to lunch here by my daughter, can’t really comment on atmosphere as we were the only 2 there early afternoon however the food was amazing (as was the price!) and, obviously,attentive service. Will certainly be visiting again as we can imagine a bustling atmosphere in the evening.

Went out for a dinner date, friendly welcoming staff with a lovely atmosphere. I went for the pasta puttanesca and my date had the rustico. Food was outstanding and very affordable, would definitely eat here again.

Fantastic oven-fired pizza that holds its own against all contenders. Excellent base (including actually delicious gluten-free options) and a universe of toppings makes for a real knockout pie. Beats New York and Chicago by a nose. Great service and good attitude. Couldn’t recommend more.

We very much enjoyed our pizza! I had a vegetarian pizza with artichokes and it was excellent. Busy and bustling when we arrived on an Saturday evening, but the service was quick and the price is very reasonable. Pizza and the atmosphere felt authentic. My 6 year old daughter had bambino margherita and she finished it all, which is very rare!

Order never turned up disgraceful

Came on a Saturday afternoon two weeks ago. Love the festive menu and new vegan items. Absolutely the best meal I have had recently in terms of quality, service and price. Good soup and crispy flatbread. The best vegan pizza in Brighton area. So much toppings and flavours! Amazing vegan pesto! Omg the vegan cheese cake is unreal! So creamy and fluffy!! Hard to tell it's vegan. One of the best I've had. The sweetness is just right as I don't like anything too sweet. Service was fast and everything came hot! The price is such a bargain for a quality meal like this! Really hard to find nowadays. I can't wait to come again! Please add more vegan options 🤗

I eat a lot of pizza. I’m a bit of an expert. This is the best Neapolitan pizza I’ve eaten outside of Italy. Perfect dough, simple, quality ingredients.

Enjoyed a lovely inexpensive lunch of freshly made rusticotti & fries (him) and rusticotto (me) or giant panini with fries. All freshly cooked to order & with drinks came in at under£20. Didn’t need to eat for the rest of the day! Great friendly service. Would definitely recommend!

Happy, vibey pizza & pasta restaurant with good tasty food. Some great deep fried bites. Quick service, so nice for a pre cinema or theatre meal. Funky decor, love the paper in the men’s loo.

3 of my children have been to pizza making birthday parties at Rustico recently, and they've all loved them! My 5 year old twins keep telling me that they know how to make pizza now, and are so proud. One doesn't like pizza but she happily made it & was given.pasta to eat instead. My 8 year old told me all the details of making her pizza & was really happy with her accomplishment , and she loved the pizza. She felt quite grown.up! They've all had great times here with Shelley, I'd recommend a Rustico birthday party!!

Been waiting an hour and a half for a pizza. It would literally take the same amount of time to go Italy and get a real rustico pizza. Also, called them and it went to the corniest automated voice message. The way the guy says "grazze" and "tchao" makes me want to choke on the non-existant pizza they still haven't delivered.

Apalled that we had to wait over 2 hours for a delivery that still hasnt turned up. No answer to phone calls to the restaurant either

Food was tasty, hot and plentiful. Service was very friendly and efficient. Despite being very quiet (early time plus early in the week so unsurprising that it was quiet) we felt very comfortable there because of the music and friendliness of the staff. Would definitely return if we find ourselves in Lewes again.

Very nice atmosphere, real italian authentic pizzas and other items (coffee & canolli!). Also, really not expensive. And a good selection of vegan options too!

I recently moved to East Sussex and Rustico has become my favourite pizza place. In fact it is the first time I have even HAD a favourite pizza place! It's simple: the pizza is superb and the service is lovely warm, friendly helpful and fun. After the first time I went, I found myself looking forward to bringing other friends and family there and getting back there myself. HIGHLY recommended!

Went in with the kids for Lunch on Monday and it was fantastic, the lady serving us couldn’t do enough for the kids and they had a brilliant time colouring in. Rustico Pizza and House Salad were exceptional. Going to make this a regular thing.

Totally useless delivery service.

Just shocking. Food was ordered at 7:26 and was eventually delivered at 9pm. Stone cold and when I called the restaurant they just told me wait. Will not be ordering again from these cow boys.

Pizzas were floppy and undercooked. May have been in the box too long also. Unpleasant.
