Runyon’s Restaurant in Manchester

The food was really good, we got a number of small plates in a tapas style meal and it was great, the portion sizes were good, we got 7 plates between 2 of us and we were both stuffed as well as puddings and 4 drinks and the bill was about £45, we left a good tip because the waiter and the manager were both fantastic, really chatty, conversational, couldn't do any more which I think is part of the battle and good service can be hard to come by, certainly worth a trip if you fancy a brilliant deal in central Manchester for some American style food, the menu is huge as well! I will definitely return via FirstTable which gives you 50% on the first tables of service!

I paid £6 for a First Table offer that got my table of three 50% off the food bill. The Asian Flavours section of the menu excited me, but I was told that, since it was being phased out, nothing was available from it. I got the Shicken Tikka Kebab Skewers instead, with a side of Sautéed Broccoli. This was on the uninspired side in terms of both presentation and taste; something you could easily make at home. More mint mayo wouldn’t have gone amiss, either. Since I had more than enough room for dessert, I also ordered the Baked Raspberry & Almond Frangipane…again, lacklustre (look at the picture I took). Service was friendly, but I left feeling glad of the substantial discount.

I had a meal here with my partner end of March 2023 as we were staying at the hotel here for the night! Staff were friendly and restaurant is nice. We ordered dim sum from the menu and it was all very nice. We enjoyed the meal and finished our drinks off at the bar!

Booked a meal using the first table app where you get 50% off the food bill. Service was impeccable-friendly and attentive. Ambience of restaurant was lovely. Laid back, plenty of space, well decorated. Food was amazing! Delicious and good portion size. Wide variety of drinks available. Service @ 12.5% is added, but worth every penny. Thoroughly recommend !

An great night the food was amazing, we had a selection of different meals all of which were to a really high standard. This is our third visit it WONT be our last we got to meet the head chef too he was so nice and very helpful as one of our party had allergies. All the staff were very attentive to our needs. Decided to come to Runyon’s restaurant as an afternoon treat with my mum after our shopping day. From start to finish the service was fantastic. The staff were so attentive and the food was out of this world! The sharing garlic flatbread was next level and the steak was cooked to perfection. The head chef, Jimmy, is a credit to the restaurant and we can’t wait to come back and try more from the menu! This is the first time we have been to Runyon’s, and now we think it is going to be our go to restaurant!! Thank you all for your amazing service and hopefully we’ll be back very soon :)

I've dined at Runyons a couple of times and each time the food was excellent. I was there again on Saturday with my sister and we both chose the stacked burgers. Oh my goodness, you did not disappoint...they were amazing! A massive shout out to chef, Jimmy! What a absolute credit he is to the restaurant...great guy! Nothing was too much trouble, he really looked after us. We'll most certainly be visiting again 😀

dinner date with friends at runyons restaurant in hotel Brooklyn. very friendly and chatty staff couldn’t do enough, went above and beyond for me and my friends! We all decided to try the new stack burger served with homemade slaw and fries which was delicious very juicy the best burger Ive tasted, It wasn’t to much even tho a big dish we all cleared our plates!! I had to thank the chef personally i was that impressed jimmy who I believe is the head chef thankyou so much for making the most delicious food for us we will definitely be back soon for another burger 😊

Kian was attentive from the start of our visit, welcomed us to the restaurant and sat us down. Explained everything to us and kept us topped up throughout. Nice guy Would highly recommend this restaurant, it’s such a nice and quirky place. Thanks Kian for you hospitality.

I've just had one of the worst dining experience I can recall having. I've been to this restaurant before and the food was reasonably good with a nice varied and interesting menu. This time it was woeful. The USA styled menu has been replaced by an extremely limited Asian tapas option. Pretty much every item on the extremely limited menu (maybe 10 options) was fried and fairly unpleasant (but the deserts are still USA inspired - bizarre). It's like they can't be bothered. If you are going to make a decision to abandon your normal a la carte menu maybe change your website - that says the nice stuff is still available. To add to the pain, service was really quite poor and we had a disagreement about the bill. Little wonder then that we were the only table in the entire restaurant. No atmosphere whatsoever. A complete embarrassment. I won't be going anywhere near here again.

We were travelling up from Birmingham for a Company celebration and as we were staying in Hotel Brooklyn we had arranged to have lunch in Runyon's Restaurant. We had allocated an hour and a half to do so due to going on to an event elsewhere afterwards. It went so smoothly! We had emailed ahead with Lucas the Manager and he had everyone's menu choices in advance. I had told Lucas how important it was there were no delays and boy did they deliver! When we arrived, everything was in final stages of being cooked and we received our food like clockwork. Lucas and the rest of his team were very friendly and the chef did a great job cooking for so many people at once! The food was great too! Visited Manchester for the weekend with my wife and the reviews of the restaurant made it sound interesting especially as we like New York so a perfect theme. Before retiring recently I spent 50 years in hospitality mainly in hotels and it’s very difficult to make hotel restaurants appealing to no residents. This restaurant has achieved that, the surroundings were excellent. The menu was very interesting with lots of things I have never tried before. I asked the waiter for a recommendation and he described it so well I was sold and the lamb dish was superb. My wife and I both agreed it was probably the best dessert menu we have ever seen. The chef for the evening was a young lady that I got to speak to and she can certainly cook!!! We were served by Mathias and Coral who were friendly and great ambassadors for the restaurant and hotel especially Coral who we had a great chat about the hotel. If your in Manchester definitely worth a visit. Only one downside for us we live in Portsmouth but next time we go to Manchester we will return

So we went using a half price voucher and wasn’t sure what to expect. It was such a lovely experience from beginning to end. Lovely fresh ambiance . Food was excellent and not generic hotel food which it could have been, but not at all. Fresh. Tasty. Served with perfect gaps between courses. But more than anything just lovely Manchester customer service. Kian who was our main waiter was perfect. Not rushed even though they were so busy. Not pushy. Just the epitome of friendly humorous service. Lots of conversation and anecdotes. But just warm. Left feeling like we’d had a great night out. Highly recommended

Another venue offering Canal Street card discount and so I gave it a try with friends for tea. I’ve got to warn you- it’s fairly pricey! I got the Falafel Burger from their vegan menu as well as some roasted mushrooms on the side. My meal was alright- nothing to write home about, really. 3 1/2 stars would be more accurate.

We had a very enjoyable evening at Runyon’s, located within the funky Brooklyn Hotel. It’s styled as a NY diner, smart but easy going, with a great buzz & great music, thankfully not too loud. The menu features hearty British dishes with an American tweak & food though far from astounding, was tasty & satisfying. Delightful friendly service & some great wines by the glass, in addition to some interesting cocktails.

Absolutely amazing, five star ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ service. Came here for afternoon tea and the staff went above and beyond to cater for us and make us feel welcome. I’m coeliac so I needed gluten free, the staff again were so helpful and ensured the afternoon tea was all gluten free, you wouldn’t have known the difference it was that good! Lucas the manager was also amazing, came over and welcomed us, clarified my dietary requirements and was on hand if we needed anything.
