Rumbles in Breckland

Appallingly poor on every level. The standard of cleanliness is low, the quality of their fish and chips was equally poor. Everything is apparently cooked to order. Cooked in luke warm palm oil for extra sogginess and oily flavour. From walking through the door to being handed my freshly murdered fish and chips took an eye-watering 20+ minutes. Alarming that there's no food hygiene sticker on show, and here's why, the score 3. In all honesty this place should be avoided unless you love really greasy and soggy fried food. I put it all in the bin.

Visited whilst staying at the lake retreat, it was a great find for perfect chip shop chips and freshly cooked fish which was generous size and in crispy light batter. Service was first class, staff friendly and good value for money. I definitely recommend this takeaway.

While on holiday in East Harling, we ordered a Rumbles kebab special. We rang ahead to order and collect. Gentleman on the phone was very polite and professional. Once we collected and brought it home we were very impressed. All the meat was succulent and tasty and plenty of it. The salad was fresh and nicely presented. For our final meal before setting off home in the morning, was just perfect and delicious. Thank you 😊

I popped in on the way home from work to pick up some kebabs for family and friends. I had a long wait , which I accept happens some times. On the way to my car the bag I had been given to carry my food collapsed, leaving all my food on the pavement so I had to make 2 journeys (luckily not too far) to get my food to my car. When I got home I found that Kebabs I had ordered with Chilli sauce had none. Luckily I had ordered extra chilli sauce for someone which had to be shared out. A poor show all round.

Myself and my Wife spent four nights at Thorpe Forest, Forest Holidays and were very disappointed with the food available so we looked up local Take-aways. We ordered two Cod and Chips and Battered Sausages for our Dogs, the standard was excellent, portions huge and food delicious!! We were even given a bottle of Tomato Sauce and Salt, Pepper and Vinegar to take back with us as we had none at the Log cabin. .

my husband and my self was staying nearby ordered fish and chips with mushy peas and a can of soft drink priced at 10.50 each. we went back to our place of stay unwrapped to find a lovely thick piece of very nice fish and a very large portion of chips we was very impressed . The service was quick and the server was very polite in a heart beat if we visit again this place would be top of the list

I live in East Harling. I really want local businesses to succeed. And I have never previously written any sort of review. However, since this place changed hands a year or so ago, it has been consistently appalling and I do not want others to suffer in the same way and hopefully it might result in some changes. I have been five times since it changed hands. On every occasion it have been: 1. Slow 2. Wrong 3. Quality has been poor 4. Staff have been rude. On the last occasion, it took over 30 minutes for a kebab. It was cold. It was produced in 5 different bags. Meat (cold), salad (asked for no cucumber and minimal red cabbage. Both wrong). Sauce in a separate tub and rice (really?). Oh and on the way out, they decided they hadn’t included any pitta bread! Really? In a kebab that cost over £16???? I have tried fish and chips, kebabs, pies and everything they offer. Every time a let down. I have even been asked to stand outside in sun zero temperatures, over an hour before they were scheduled to close as they wanted to wash the floors and close early. Honestly, do yourselves a favour and go ANYWHERE ELSE.

this place consistantly makes the very best fish and chips what ever time of year. ive been going there for years and the staff are very polite and friendly. they also make other dfishes like kibab, fried chicken, salad etc but i only eat the fish and chips. i wont buy this food in my own town as its worth the journy
