Ruby in Aberdeen City

Chow mein was nice, prices are higher than other places which makes me wonder if they're taking advantage of people staying at the hospital. The service was abrupt but not rude, just direct.

1st time of having our order delivered it was delivered at the correct time,foodhot and tasty portions are huge (no complaint) so saving half, fantastic value for money 10/10 thankyou

I regularly order from this takeaway but won't be again. My father was treated very rudely by the young girl on the phone last Friday, with no reason at all. I have once encountered this girl in the shop and she was rude to me and anyone who called to place an order. I thought perhaps this was a one off but clearly this is her attitude and behaviour at all times. Considering Ruby is more expensive than most like for like takeaways, I do not expect this type of service. I used Ruby 2-3 times per month, however will not use them again.

Placed an order online realised I had made a mistake phoned straight away to amend this. The attitude of the person on the phone was shocking. Was told the order was being cooked but I had called within a minute so they would not amend the order. I then asked the full order be cancelled and was told "big deal" and she slammed the phone down.

Good Chinese for take away, also at a good price.

Only just started to use this place as my local closed down. Great food prompt service found my new local Chinese

SHOCKING! have ordered rubys since last year and prices have been okay & similar to most takeaways. Over the past few days meals have been sneakily increasing in up to £1-2.

The price rises Ruby Chinese have put on is nothing but shocking! We travel from around 10 miles away as it’s always been nice and good value. But adding around £1.50-£2.00 on each meal isn’t ok at all. We won’t be back in afraid with price rises like that. Disappointing but there’s plenty of other take aways with more reasonable prices.

Good friendly staff munchie box was way too overcooked. Next to non spices even if it was salt & pepper munchie box. Sorry this came highly rated but was very poor quality of food.

Just walked over from the maternity hospital 2 Big signs Cash only but about 4 cars outside from online ordering firms so I guess cash in take away but card online just walked out. Won't be back

Discovered this wee diamond when ma misses was in having our baby. I've never ate from another Chinese yet, great portion size, staff are absolutely class. 5 stars all day. If you've not tried it yet get in about it, superb

Ordered online wS charged but no confirmation so called said no order had to reverse payment girl on phone rude and useless. Then ordered but pay cash got confirmation but no food arrived called after 1 hour again same useless girl saying she called me. Many times. From unknown numbers. Total scam shop will contact bank about fraud

Had platter of seaweed, chicken satay skewers, prawn toast, spring rolls, bbq ribs, with sweet and sour and peanut dipping sauce, delicious, then honey chilli chicken and prawn/ mushrooms with noodles/beansprouts and egg fried rice, free prawn crackers thoroughly enjoyed it. Roll on next time.

Excellent food and service with a quick delivery. Defo highly recommend it.

Usual ruby is lovely food as we have used it for many years but now we had a meal on Saturday 24th and it was worst meal ever. I hope owners read this and think what they have done wrong or they will loose lots of business

Chicken curry .. chicken never tasted like a chicken.. just tasted like something jelly... so disgusting !!!

Wow, definitely lacking in maintenance in the shop front area. Doesn’t give a good first impression, should have turned an left then!! Magazines are as old as the hills and menu has price increase stickers older than me! Lady who took the order was blunt and couldn’t have cared less. Special fried rice had nice flavour, good variety of meat & veg and tub was packed. Hot & sour soup again was packed with selection of meat & veg but not spicy or sour, just a nice soup. Butterfly prawns were fried to dryness and sauce was just lumps. Pancake rolls very disappointed with last of flavour in the filling, tiny pieces of chopped formed ham and Chinese pork with lots of pastry and some bean sprouts. Chicken curry ok but again, lumpy jelly in the sauce. Egg fried rice & curry sauce, good portion but curry sauce had lumps in and lacked flavour. BBQ spare ribs were of poor quality. All the sauces and gravy had lumps of jelly in. Unfortunately we all ended up very ill with stomach issues the next day so be warned! Definitely would not eat from here again.

I've been a customer of Ruby for several years now and I've never had any complaints at all. No wrong orders, the dishes always have enough prawn/chicken/beef or whatever the main component is, even at busy times the delivery has been prompt and the prices are very reasonable considering what you get. Absolutely no reason not to go, it gets a full recommendation from me.

Always used Ruby for my chinese of choice due to reliability, great food & excellent service, however reliability & excellent service can be faulted providing there is always an exceptional meal; something that they appear to be failing on during my last two orders. My pancake rolls ( 2 portions) were in a puddle (yes a puddle) of grease within the bags, which obviously the pancake rolls had been soaking up the fats, leaving a VERY greasy inside mix of vegetables & bean sprouts. Chicken fried rice, the rice was hard, undercooked with minimal chicken throughout. Prawn crackers (should now be called oil crackers) were full of oily flavour, not even a hint of prawn taste. Everyone make mistakes & once can be acceptable but as this is the 2nd order thats been below standard, i have concluded there is change of "chefs" / "Cooks". I will not be returning & highly recommend you do not waste your £.

Terrible! I have been a customer for a very long time and never had a problem before. After the most annoying experience yesterday (probably with new owners), I am never going again! Called to order food for collection, and got told it would be ready in 10 minutes. I got there and had to wait for another 10 minutes for food. Not a good start, but never mind. However, when I got back to my work I found out I was given the wrong food. Therefore I called back, and got told I had to go back to pick up the right food. After a long time spent trying to persuade them that I would at least expect them to deliver the food at that point, they agreed to do that. They said the food would be with me in a few minutes, therefore I stood out of my work building for a while, waiting. After about 20 minutes I get a call from them, telling me that they don't have a driver available for at least one hour. So I tell them I will go back to collect my food and get my money back. Once there, they took another 10 minutes (with the non-available driver sitting there doing nothing just next to me) to tell me that I could either have the food or get my money back. End of the story, I went out with no food after a good one hour wasted and two trips there! And no offer of compensation or whatsoever apart from returning the money I had paid. SHOCKING!

Well, what can I say, I love this place. Sure they can be a little slow at delivering some times, but hey its a super busy place because the FOOD IS AMAZING. I have on many occasions had my food delivered to me so HOT it was actually too hot to eat and had to cool a few minutes... I would truly recommend these guys as they always accommodate even if I ask to remove some ingredients (I am a fussy vegetarian and my partner eats meat - the orders get complicated haha) Thanks guys!

I ordered chicken chow main my mother ordered sweet and sour chicken no onions and no batter on the chicken well we ordered it at 5.30 6.45 phoned up got told it was on its way we got it at 7.35 no joke 7.35 my mothers came with batter onions and no rice it was cold and we are in the premier inn with no way to heat it up lol NEVER HAVE I EVER HAD SUCH A BAD EXPERIENCE

This a fantastic takeaway restaurant, i have used them for years with no complaints. Food is delicious and delivery is fast.
