Lovely little coffee shop, staff always cheerful and welcoming, fairly busy every time I've been which I think is a good sign, plenty of choice of deserts and light bites on offer, this visit we opted for scones and the spiced pumpkin latte slice, all in the group happy with quality of the choices made.

Decent coffee, but, awful service today. Waited 20 mins for our coffee which appeared to have been put to one side and forgotten about. Had to go and ask for it. Was immediately handed to me with no apology, and of course was no longer hot. Bad attitude by the lady who seemed to be in charge...Will never go there again.

Arrived late afternoon so I think a few of the cakes etc. had already sold out. No menu cards to select from and not a huge range of savouries, mainly pre-made paninis to be heated on a hot plate. My friend mixed up our order but the staff sorted it without any problems. My cake was really nice and it was a great coffee too.

Dreadful staff attitude, 3 of us called for quick coffee (got seats outside) at just before 4.30pm.. refused service as she was 'cashing up' despite customers still arriving and some seated outside..Closing time as advertised on the door is 5pm!! Doors were wide open..Turning custom away is definitely not what an owner would do..took our custom elsewhere..

Went on Friday ordered a cheese and tomato toasted sandwich the cheese was tasteless and there was no tomato just a red paste/spread it was awful told an employee was told we buy them in ??? No sorry. A slice of tomato would have been nice

Visited this place for a cup of tea. It was busy when we arrived. All Day breakfast wasn't all day - we couldn't order breakfast, not sure what the reason for this was. We were told it was a 15 minute wait for the hot drinks. It was a long wait for a brew - it felt like 20 minutes or so! Probably the longest I have waited for a cup of tea in my life. Was disappointed it arrived with no sugar. Food was nice, especially the reduced paninis! Would not recommend this place if you was in a hurry. I thought the place looked thin on staff especially as it was busy.

3 of us visited,three of us had coffees and 3 of us felt nauseated a small while later, the price of cakes are ridiculous coming to nearly 3 pound 50 each(they are v small too) and the service is mediocre. Won't be visiting again.

Asked for a tea and coffee and got two coffees and 2 cheese and onion toasties but the onion was virtually non existant

I have no complaints about the food. However, Rubens occupies 2 units and, strangely, only does hot food in one of them although there are probably only 10 steps or so between them. As I wanted hot food and it appeared that we were in the cold unit, it seemed to be a challenge for them to go from one unit to the other. (Incidentally, my friend had a "hot" panini which apparently was ok in the cold unit!). They did eventually relent and made the journey from one to the other. Overall, the place was rather tired and I didn't like that the toilet was right next to the eating area and the door into the toilet was left open most of the time. They said they had run out of serviettes - as we were in the middle of town it wouldn't have taken much initiative to buy some more from a nearby shop. Although our order was taken by a helpful female I felt that most of the staff weren't very friendly. All in all, I won't be returning. Show less Date of visit: November 2021

Very pleasantly surprised a hidden gem in the heart of Mold, much nicer than your chain coffee shops, despite Covid19 restrictions

Abysmal from arriving to leaving. I arrived with my 77 year old mother who was using her mobility scooter. We chose to sit outside due to access issues. I entered the shop, there wasn't a queue yet it took an age before I was served. I ordered 2 cooked breakfasts, one with brown toast, the other with white and 2 tea's. The tea's were bought out to us, in take out cups and lids with milk already in them. No preferences were asked for at the counter. My mother does not take milk. After 40 mins of waiting for our food, imagining that the time on my till receipt must be wrong, I approached the counter to enquire as to the whereabouts of our meal. It was about an hour before we actually got our food. The bacon was solid, the eggs were over cooked and all toast was white. We came away promising never to return.

Always good to go and have a coffee in Rubens.

BE AWARE!! We went to Rubens on Tuesday this week. We had tea, coffee and food. I paid the bill by contact less and then queried with the person that served me why they hadn't charged me 50% as they are advertised on the EAT OUT TO HELP OUT website. He hadn't heard of the scheme so checked with his manager who said that it was company policy that the onus is on the customer to ask before paying. DON'T GET CAUGHT OUT LIKE ME!!

Best coffee I've had in north wales, would have been 5 stars but the staff were a little cold.

We previously had some nice food here, so returned today for a coffee. After having been initially ignored, by the girl on the counter, another employee came out from the back and grunted "yeah?" at us. No greeting, no pleasantries, just "yeah?" We placed our order, only to be told that we couldn't pay by card, because the machine wasn't working. As we didn't have cash, we had to leave. I pointed out that there was no sign, informing customers that it was cash payments only and her answer was, "we dont have a sign". Surely common sense dictates, that you would hand write a sign and put it on the door? We ended up going to Costa, who were more polite and more convenient. So much for shopping local. Instead, choose the national brands; at least they are targeted on delivering appropriate customer service.

Had a lunch out here and as a bonus dog friendly inside and out brilliant for when you want to have a walk in the local area with your pooch but need to fill your own tank before you go. Reasonable price and good food

Called on a Saturday...very busy day in Mold because of food festival....food & tea were fine but the young man serving us at the till really needs to learn to smile at customers as not only would he feel better, it improves customer service & perception immeasurably! We felt as if we were rather a nuisance & will be choosing one of the many other little tearooms Mold has to offer in future.

Nice cafe central to the town helpful and good service coffee a little bitter but I do have a sweet toth.

7/9/2019. Good coffee and menu, but rude staff on this occasion. It was clear they had a falling out between them and the result was a very abrupt and unfriendly atmosphere. This was the coffee and smoothie section, not the diner.
