Great food in a cool venue! Attended the steak night and had an amazing meal. Beer was excellent, really enjoyed the “up the villa”

We were recommended this place by someone from work who pre-warned to book a table because it gets very busy quickly. We weren’t told much about the place, only that the food is great and the drinks were top-notch - they weren’t wrong. We shared between the three of us a Tray Platter (which is a mix of everything) and a Cubano sandwich and it was the right amount of grub. The food was exceptional, especially the pork for the sandwich. The cider selection wasn’t huge but what was there was so good (raspberry ripple for the win!). It really is a hidden gem which is found off the beaten track. Friendly staff and an enjoyable atmosphere. This was our first visit and it definitely won’t be our last!

I've been here a few times with family, usually on a Friday evening after a long week and thought it's about time that I wrote a review! ... If you are looking for refinement, keep walking, but if you are looking high quality food in a friendly environment served by excellent staff. Take a seat (if you can get one) as it's usually rammed with customers, so it's probably worth booking. I live in Lichfield and there are some pretty ropey places that masquerade as fine dining, they know who they are and they aren't. This place makes up for some of its peers. The food is excellent, the drinks are cold and the staff do their jobs really well. It doesn't cost too much, in fact it's good value for high quality meat and plenty of it! I don't suppose it would be of interest to our vegetarian brethren but hey each to their own. Worth a mention, the venue is an industrial unit (looks like an old workshop) but don't be put off it's clean and well, a bit rough, all of which adds to the could give a hoot about about the decor approach. I do hope the owners don't change anything! 10/10 well worth a visit!

Keep an open mind….. This place is nestled in a trading estate and is a working brewery. It’s rough and edgy, but pit master Michael and the bar team have you covered. You get the feeling that this place is only known by the few but it’s well known and for good reason. The food and drink is superb. The food is filthy (in a good way!) and the drinks are selective, only a few selections, but that’s all you need. We had a great time and will return!

The food here is amazing. We have been here several times now and we’ve never been disappointed with the food. It’s good quality locally sourced meat and the taste is amazing. It might be advisable to book as due popularity they sometimes can sell out. We look forward to our next visit

Visited on a Saturday late afternoon and it was much quieter than it should have been, the food is so good! This really is a gem of a place, the food is fantastic and the service is too, my wife and I had a half rack of ribs and burnt ends, so full of flavour! We then finished with the key lime pie which was also amazing, with food of this quality this place should be sold out every evening! Keep doing what you are doing and Rub Me Tender will be a difficult place for anyone not to choose who want good quality BBQ food, only too often BBQ places are bland and disguised with thick BBQ sauces, this is definitely not the case here, we could not fault any of it and look forward to going back to try the beef rib next! Being within a brewery, the Titanic ales were great too!!

Absolutely incredible! The food, the music, the atmosphere, the whole vibe was perfect! Better than the smokehouse we had in LA! Can’t wait to come back again, 100% recommend to any meat lovers.

I saw a post for this restaurant come up on my Facebook feed this evening and I had been meaning to try this out for a while. We read the reviews which were all fabulous (I know why now) and what's app their page enquiring whether they did Gluten free options. All of the meat and chips are gluten free. We arrived on the industrial estate in Lichfield where it was situated and was greeted by a large warehouse space with a bar at one end and helpful bar server with a good range of spirits, beers and soft drinks. I was particularly impressed with the three types of Burning Barn speciality rum. My husband sampled two of the Pale Ales which I'm told were lovely. The tables and benches in the restaurant were simple and authentic of the deep south of America. There was a good selection of food without being too many options. I opted for the rib of beef with fries, homemade slaw and pickles. My husband had the pulled pork in a bun with fries, slaw and pickles. We also had Nachos with Salsa and lime dip. What can I say, both meat's were perfectly seasoned without being OTT, melt in your mouth, beautiful meat. Slaw was amazing as were the fries and proper homemade Nachos. The chilli/lime dip was amazing. We went to Nashville and Memphis earlier this year and had what we were told was the best BBQ food ever, not anymore. This meat and food surpassed anything we ate in the USA. £41 for our food. Very good value for money, portions were generous. Couldn't fault it. Service was excellent and seating area and decor and music was epic. Definitely will return. Thanks for a wonderful experience, just one thing, get yourself a tips jar!

Having seen rub me tender advertised quite a few times we decided to visit tonight, the place we fairly quiet being a Thursday but the atmosphere was still great, background music was good. Very clean and tidy and in a Brewery!!! We ordered the BBQ platter, which had burnt ends, smoked beef rib, BBQ pork ribs and pulled pork burger. A side of slaw and pickles with some garlic cheese hash browns and fries. The food was moist, tasty and to die for. We ate most of the meat and sides but had a doggy bag to take away. Food was reasonably priced and the Brewery bar was well stocked with fine ales, soft drinks etc. Even having a good range of alcohol free. We'll worth a visit and it puts the chain BBQ restaurants to shame, spend local and support a great local small business, I will fro.m now on. An absolute gem!

What a night tonight. Amazing bbq cooked to perfection. Chef was a god send during covid lockdowns knocking out amazing bbq. Said to him you should open a spot and 2 years later here he is delivering classic bbq you will search high and low to find. An absolute gem for the locals and a must trip for anyone who wants amazing bbq. Ribs were ridiculous and the Miso Wings knocked me for 6. Can’t wait for the next visit.

Ordered the BBQ tray expecting, the sausage, burnt ends and brisket with beans, slaw and corn bread. Ran out of sausages, a bun instead of corn bread and no beans, the meat wasn't anything interesting and didn't taste of anything other than smoke. £35 for that, bad. Wouldn't recommend but I like that these types of places are opening, just do it better

Superb BBQ food and excellent atmosphere. Really friendly place to sit down and enjoy the food and some really good beers too. We had the beef rib which was stunning but the slaw is the king. Highly recommended and I'm already planning my next visit

The menu is small, however, the food is prepared by the chef himself, using smokers. I love this food, i can't speak highly enough of the skill of the chef. Michael is a genius where BBQ food is concerned.

Been tonight for the first time, the food was amazing and combined with trinity brewery was fantastic. It had a really good vibe until my husband decided to cheat at table football🙈. I don’t know why it has taken so long to find out about this place 5/5 . Will definitely be returning with others! Hidden gem!

This is a great place to eat barbecue food. You won't taste anything better. The food is made by a very talented chef. The menu is small but changes regularly. It's housed within Trinity brewery, so there is quality craft beers available to have with the food. Don't miss out. Average meal costs £20 approx, including sides. I can't rate the food highly enough, we eat here most weeks.

The food was tasty and very good. Nothing to complain about, however my issue was the portion size for the money and no chips included. My half rack of ribs was tasty and included a tablespoon of Asian slaw for £22, add on the chips and it was £25. Far too expensive in my opinion. If it was £20 including chips, then still expensive but probably worth paying. Others who had the brisket only got 2 slices of beef plus two slices of supermarket white bread. Again no chips. Too much money in my opinion. I guess the prices reflect the rising prices and the need to make money, but far to expensive for me, especially when you only have benches to sit on, wooden cutlery and plastic trays to eat off. More affluent folks may disagree.

Wow, had a selection of everything and it was all brilliant. Brisket, burnt ends, sausage, nachos, brisket, fries. It was all delicious! Proper authentic low and slow cooking which is a rarity around here. Without doubt best brisket we’ve ever eaten. Quick service and great atmosphere in Trinity. 10/10 would go again.
