The owners/managers went out of their way to accommodate us during the recent power cuts from storm Eowyn. Beautiful property, well-appointed rooms, and service second to none. Will definitely recommend the Royal Marine for friends and family visiting Dunoon.

Another fantastic weekend spent with my family at the Royal Marine Hotel. Excellent location, spotless comfortable room, helpful staff and great food. Thank you.

Avoid at all cost! Checked in, and checked out 40 minutes later (which going by previous reviews, me and my partner haven't been the only ones to do this recently) Outdated, rooms weren't up to scratch with poorly fitted carpets with gaps, uncomfy old beds, love shrine to David Bowie. Really disappointed as the photos looks absolutely fantastic, but in reality, the venue is run down with no signs of any staff. There wasn't even anyone at reception to welcome us and no signs of anyone to run the bar. Don't bother waisting your money

Regrettably I can't offer a good review of the hotel. Expected a great stay but was mired with issues. Sorry to say I won't book this hotel again. Short staffed, no hot water available, was not able to eat in the restaurant, bar service slow due to staff shortage, but the staff on site were doing their best.

Met dillan at reception great chap the room was massive warm good tv lovely settee king size bed everything was new the building is awesome very grand we did the NC 500 and stayed in six different hotels. This was the seventh and by far the best we had dinner which was steak pie with puff pastry. It really was one of the best. I’ve had plenty of big chunks of meat and lovely pastry breakfast, equally as good probably a shade better than the one we had in the Gairlock hotel which was really good. We seen some beautiful scenery at the top of Scotland and the West Coast, then 3 miles from Dunoon. You go past loch long And then alongside the Clyde at Dunoon for me, this is equally as beautiful as anywhere. We have been so next time. We are just coming straight here if you’re in the area it’s a must Ivan peers Lymm Cheshire

Great service - the hotel’s restaurant and other public rooms were closed when I visited. It was a wet and windy day and they very kindly let me in and made me a hot drink. They wouldn’t let me pay. Thanks so much!

Called with late notice and was well received by Dillan. The hotel is in great spot beside the ferry. Looks fab and inside although a bit dated is being tidied up. The room was warm clean and with a great view. Very Scottish if that’s what your after. Sadly no food at our stay. Fire place in bar was nice touch.

VERY UNDER COOKED CHICKEN ON MUITL ORDERS. BITS OF GLOVES IN SALAD, ALOT OF CROSS CONTAINSION DURING HANDLING BOTH RAW AND COOKED FOOD. VERY POOR FOOD HYG STANDARDS. I HIGHLY SUGGEST STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. ANY RATING OVER 2 STARS THE PERSON WHO WROTE IT WAS PAID TO WRITE IT. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.

What an earth has happened to this restaurant. 45 mins for first drink then half a bowl of soup, 2 little slices garlic bread £3.95. Main meal 1 was missed other one went back because of allergy which waiter was told of kitchen then scraped sauce off which was useless when it came back other meal was stone cold. In total over 2 hours for a restaurant half empty manager was told said he was "new" which he told us 6 weeks ago when our meal was an even worse disaster. Thought we would give them a chance whoever chef is needs replaced such a shame was a great place at one time heard loads of complaints from other people definitely wont be back
