Royal Hotel in Cardiff

Excellent central location. Very comfortable room. Spacious triple. Wonderful breakfast with plenty of choice and amazing professional and friendly staff, went above and beyond for us. We would happily return.

Great central hotel and reasonibly priced. A perfect location for an international rugby match too! The brekkie was tasty..... Especially the sausages

I was pleasantly surprised by my stay at the Royal Hotel as I was expecting similar standards to a Premiere Inn or Travel Lodge but was impressed by quality of the room (bathroom looked very new). All the staff were really friendly and approachable. I called in advance asking to have something delivered to the hotel and they were really accommodating and even brought it up to my room for my arrival! Decent time for breakfast, good selection of food items and was pleased to sample some Welsh teas! Great location also! only 6 mins away from the train station

Good stay here. Well-located in the pedestrian area and close to the train station. We were given a spacious room on the 7th floor, with windows on two sides, nice furnishings, an ironing board, and a large bathroom and bathtub. Would have loved a small fridge and luggage racks. Difficult to stay here if you had mobility issues.

We stayed here for the last three nights. Staff were absolutely lovely we had a cute card waiting for us in the bed and a free bottle of wine. The location was great. The room was a big size lots of windows and the bed was also a good size. The beds were hard though and so were the pillows not very comfy, the cleaning could also be improved the room was dusty.

Clean hotel, lovely staff and prime location. Majority of places is a short walk and the area is super lively in a good way. Had such a great experience - felt welcomed from check in to check out. The process was smooth and easy. Service was quick when it came to asking for room service, fresh towels etc. All the staff went above and beyond, special shoutout to Tom squared!

This is a very old building near the centre with a mass of different restaurants etc. However there is no parking and you have to use the NCP just down the road for which you have to pay, although you get a discount via the hotel. Comfortable rooms and pleasant helpful staff. Good breakfast.

Appreciate its not any of the staffs fault and their service was excellent however for you light sleepers (like myself) be aware if someone is staying next to you, unfortunately it's just how it's constructed paperthin walls and hollow subfloor so you'll hear every little sound, given its price point it's fair and reasonable I must say though. I did have to complain to staff at 1.00am due to kids running around in their own room with parents in another and to the hotels credit dealt with it immediately coming up and told them to be quiet. The night-life is fairly vibrant in Cardiff and not really having done my research there's a few pubs that bang on till 2-3am on week nights so if you struggle to sleep this hotel is not the right place for you. Heavy sleepers will be fine considering you have no one next to you. Room was clean and fine check in was easy and its actually a good location with a lot near you. Yeah only criticism is the structure, I'm not too fussed over fancy things in rooms,

Centrally located hotel, easy to get to from both the bus and train stations. It is simple and unpretentious.

Lovely, clean hotel. Ideal location. Lovely clean room, friendly staff, helpful. Would recommend this hotel and will stay here again. Just one thing, getting in and out of the bath, nothing to hold onto, felt unsteady. Had to hold onto the radiator getting out of the bath/shower. Probably a handrail or ? can be fitted?

Stayed 3 nights. Central for everything. Disabled access was excellent.

Right in the centre, but quiet enough. Our room was ok. It was clean, but the bed was very soft and squeaky. There were 2 windows, but they were tiny and couldn't be opened properly.

Nice hotel, perfect location for Cardiff Castle concerts.

The location is good because it is close to the train station, to get to the reception there is no elevator, the bathroom has a fairly old bathtub

Great value in the heart of Cardiff. Nice staff, not top-end luxury but fair price. Good breakfast. Quirky and memorable in a lot of ways (good ways).
