The take out chicken chow mein was awful, dry dry dry tasteless, separate mushrooms in brown gloopy sauce shocking.why do they have such a huge bag of prawn crackers. Overpriced, poor quality. Never using again. I've used this place twice now.it used to be so good.not now.

This is most expensive Chinese around the area, but one of the worst in terms of quality food. The chicken in the curry tasted like cheap frozen bought chicken. The noodles were all dried up with barely any soy sauce on them, clearly microwaved/reheated - no veg in them either as requested. And the chicken balls where all dried up and mostly batter with tiny bits of dried up chicken in them. This was take out we ordered…. And it was ready in less than five minutes so that says it all. Emailed the shop with a written complaint as per the address on the website, but no reply.

Not quite sure where I should start. Myself and my fiance are always looking for new restaurants to try and we always read the reviews before we book a table. We clearly didn't do our homework before attending the Royal Garden. To begin with I have never been to China ..but I'm pretty sure their royal Garden would not smell as foul as this restaurant did when we first walked in. It resembled something from the 80s, it is smelly dark and dated and pretty prehistoric. We gave it the benefit of the doubt and ordered dinner. We had a choice of menus and I ordered from the pre theatre menu and my partner choose from the al a carte. Barbeque spare ribs I ordered for a starter... these came out dry (no sauce) I asked the waitress where the barbeque was, she explained unless they were ordered from the other menu they came dry. She then offered me some barbecue sauce and this would be an additional charge ! Which I gladly accepted. When they emerged from the kitchen they were the same dry ribs with a touch of tasteless barbeque sauce on them. My partners salt and chilli ribs were not too bad to be fair. The mains.... I choose the sweet n sour chicken which to be fair was edible..if you like microwave sweet n sour. My partners combination chow mein was certainly a combination... a combination of something that resembled slops. Mixed meat which was under cooked on a bed of which looked like super noodles , most of which were half cooked and still crunchy actually that's an insult to bachelor's who make super noodles. The soup (gravy) that should be thick and tasty covering the chow mein was like greasy dish water. We refused the sweet menu and swiftly paid and left. Any one thinking of attending the Royal garden.. maybe consider getting a takeaway and staying in your own garden .it will taste better and certainly smell better. We won't be back😩 how this place is functional I will never know.

Order - Chicken with Green Peppers in Black Bean Sauce, salt n chilli chicken balls, Chicken Chow Mein This was a great meal. The restaurant was busy and there was even a birthday celebration. Glad to see everyone enjoying themselves. Time - 10 mins for the starter. I was there for about an hour and a half in total. Presentation - see pics. The Chicken with Green Peppers in Black Bean Sauce even had a white rose in it. (I didn't eat that lol) Quality - 4/5 - The quality was exceptional and very tasty. Everything was cooked perfectly. Compared to other Chinese restaurants in the area this was probably the best experience I've had dining in. Quantity - 3/5 - not too much or too little but there was only 4 chicken balls in the starter. The main courses were very filling and they supplied plenty of rice and noodles in the chow mein. Value for money - Very Good compared to similar places. Worked out less than £20 per person with a drink. Additionally - all in all a great dining experience and the service was second to none very quick and efficient considering how busy they were and doing takeaways at the same time.

I’ve sat in here before and the food was fab. Tonight we were staying in the area and got a large take away for the family £70. Can’t fault the food it was excellent and the noodles they used were the fine one we really like. We also got fried rice with no egg, which some places don’t do. However what we didn’t get were any complementary prawn crackers!! For the amount we purchased I felt a bit cheated in not getting them.

Royal Garden Chinese In Bishopbriggs is by far one of, if not the best Chinese in the city! Yes some may think it is more expensive than other Takeaways however you get what you pay for, their chicken satay should deserve an award it’s that good. I have never had a bad meal from Royal Garden and it is my go to place for my takeaway treat. Would also recommend their shredded crispy chicken & Kung po chicken. Compliment your meal with King Prawn toast and Salt & Pepper chips, you will not be disappointed. They also have a sit in restaurant with competitive prices and great portions.

Went for dinner tonight and ordered off the pre/theatre menu. Firstly bbq spare ribs £1 extra for bbq sauce (not mentioned on menu). Main course chicken chow main had ham through it and when questioned we were rudely asked if the person was Muslim! The desert was highly questionable after seeing a picture on the web site of the cheese cake we decided to try it. Big mistake a bowl of cheep cream with the tiniest bit of shop bought cheese cake. Again we questioned this and scowled at from the waitress with no explanation. Would not recommend and would not visit again.

We have been going to this restaurant for years unfortunately last night was disappointing as the service totally let them down. My husband has Alzheimers so we need a quick turn over on waiting times as he gets agitated. They know he has this. Well seemingly you get better treatment /service if you order a la carte as it was mentioned several times. We ordered from the special menu and felt like 2nd class citizens. 3 tables that arrived well after us got served their meals before us. Their meals were complete and we were still eating our main meal. I'm really disappointed on this.

I visited with family. We ate from the special menu, which offers a good range of choices for £12.95 (if I remember correctly) and three courses. The services was excellent and pitched at the right level for the venue, friendly, prompt & polite. The restaurant is a small place but it didn’t feel cramped and squashed in. The food was served quickly and as a nice touches they asked if we were ready for the main course, meaning we didn’t feel rushed, despite it being quite busy. Food was tasty, hot and well presented but probably not exceptional. I was neither disappointed or overly impressed which is a key reason for giving a three. As you might expect deserts were the least impressive party of the menu. I was also a little disappointed that my lime and soda was on the flat side and coke came in a can. Overall it was a pleasant experience and enjoyable food but nothing out of the ordinary.

Waited an hour for our food ( probably the norm for a Friday night) but when we got the food we dished up and the word BLAND is an understatement, no taste what so ever, very disappointed as we thought the Manor Garden was up there in the top end of good restaurants did call up and girl was nice enough to offer discount for next time but said we won't be back, but did ask to tell the chef to taste his cooking before giving it to paying customers.
