Royal Chef in Coventry

I love their food. When I go to Coventry and I'm having Chinese food, no one else will do.

Shocking rude service.. swore at and not refunded after we ordered a munchy box and it came look like the guy had eaten half of it before it arrived. Chicken balls were raw in the middle and the chips were reheated.. The crispy chicken could easily break a tooth.. Vegetables wernt cooked and when I took it back they refused a refund and swore at me whilst I had my son present. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.

Avoid this place. Found 3 dead ants in my food.. called them and they just hung up on me.

Delivery was late, the order was wrong and it was swimming in grease.

Have not had food from here for a long time, so I tried my favourite dish somewhere new. I could not recommend them for sweet and sour chicken balls. Batter was lovely, sauce was nice, but the chicken was poor. 4 pieces were chewy and hard. It's not the place for me.

Ordered a chicken curry, prawn curry and spring rolls, both currys had an unpleasant taste and were inedible, spring rolls were disgusting beansprouts almost black and shrivelled up. Sent meal back and got a refund won't be ordering again, upset tummy all weekend

Absolutely disgusting food, I called to complain and they kept putting phone down on me!!! ! have been using this chinese for years, very hit and miss with quality, but tonight was horrendous and I paid £25 for a plate of slop! So i called to inform them their food was not up to standard and got shouted at, ignored, phone put down many times and threatened with policel!! Stay away unless you want to give your money away!!!!!

Very bad customer service from this takeaway. We have been regular customers for a very long time and now the new rice they are using is like couscous. The staff said that they will offer us free food in our next order because she said it was their mistake. When going to place our next order, she said she can't give it and taking her word back. Very rude service!

Would not accept card payment. Ordered a special fried rice. Very dry. Rice so stodgy more like couscous. Very little meat. Singapore chow mein bland. Would not recommend.

How can you rate atmosphere in a takeaway shop? 🤔 well there wasn't any hence the 1 star. The food here is consistently good and the lady that serves us is pleasant enough. Would I prefer a more comfortable seat whilst waiting? Most definitely! But to be honest I'm never in there long enough to worry about it. It's clean, tasty and local, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it.

1, you NEED to get a card machine 2, aromatic CRISPY duck needs to have crisp rendered fat and stripped not cut into cubes 3, everything else is lovely

Bought from here a few times now the munchy box has really gone bad soggy chips food overcooked chicken balls are still pink and the box it comes in is falling apart won't be ordering again

Fantastic customer service and fab food quality

It's been 2 weeks that our family have fallen sick eating from this restaurant and has put me of Chinese food since !! Please don't put your families at risks by eating from here !

Our family had food poisoning after eating take away from this restaurant, spoke to the manager who did not apologies and had the audacity to advise me to seek a medical professional and assess it ... And also mentioned I might have eaten at Mac Donald's 😂😂 ... please avoid this restaurant for the sake of your families health.

Ordered online waited a hour I had to call them to find out where my order was bearing in mind my contact details were submitted with order when I rang the lady if you would call her that was very rude she thought she had me on mute while they laughed about how long to tell me my order would be Never will I order or recommend anyone to order from this place

The best Chinese takeaway in the area. Have ordered from here a number of times and the food is always consistently good.

Don’t take card payment which in the current situation is a bit silly. They have a sign on the door saying no mask no service but they don’t adhere to their own rules. Didn’t want to give a VAT receipt so I could claim back.

food took over an hour to come, when it eventually did come it was the wrong order. We then called the restaurant who offered to swap our food and the food already delivered to another household rather than making a fresh batch. Not a very covid friendly restaurant clearly, wouldn't go again.

Food is good but not a Chinese chef in site...all Asians. Used to be Chinese run with Asian guys doing the delivery. Not sure what's going on.

3 in one, normally good portions, today I had a tiny little bit of curry sauce. Bit annoying after paying £5

Took over 1 hour to deliver food , within 2 mile radius . Customer service over the telephone was poor the young woman over the telephone, she was very rude. Food was average .

Food was delicious. We received little suprise instead prawn crackers like we asked for. One little think, food was warm but not hot. In general I would recommend it.

Over an hour late and the restrictions refuses to answer the phone!

Food ain't too bad but still no where near nice it's just edible the service is terrible, takes 2 lads and 1 girl to take one order, generally dont have a clue what they are doing, no where near a decent chinese would deffo recommend somewhere else, the staff need themselves sorting right out thinking there big but wont be when they do it to the wrong customer

I normally use just eat but I decided to use this restaurant as a change. I had to ring to place the order as there website said there was an error to place the order online. When I spoke to them they stated it would be with me within 45 to 60 minutes, I also had to confirm my delivery details with them 3 times. Which I thought was strange. The hour went past and no food. 75 minutes and still no food so i called them to be told the driver is on the way. If I collected it out only take 5 minutes as it is not far from me. A further 30 minutes past and we were getting annoyed. Then the driver called me and stipulated he couldn't find the house as he went to a different address. So the man on the phone didn't listen when I gave him the whole address and postcode 3 times. When the food got to me the driver had only been left the shop 5 minutes as he had confirmed so they lied. I order Cantonese style sweet and sour pork. The pork was that over cooked in the batter as it had disintegrated the sauce was very dark and tasteless plus the fried noodles there was more beanspouts than noodles so for me a complete waste of money and time. I won't be ordering from them ever again.

To start we ordered are food on Royal chefs own website at 16:00, a hour before they open are time slot was 18:00. At 18:50 an individual wearing and apron approached my bungalow clutching cold wet bags of food. Out of politeness my wife paid this person and we set about laughing at the poor cold excuse of a meal. We had bacon batches in crusty rolls after instead that night and wondered why we ever thought giving these people £20 would ever have produced what human standards might regard as a meal (fit for a farm animal). Needless to say i was very disappointed.
