Royal Bengal Indian Restaurant & Takeaway in Barking and Dagenham

Foot was very late and nan missing. Manager said he is sending out nan it never arrived. I will not be ordering again.

Worst takeaway I've had in years without a doubt. Meat was so tough from mixed grill, was inedible and unrecognisable.

Food was undercooked and hard, curry was bland and made me feel sick! Don't waste your money on this place. Delivery is also very slow.

Terrible terrible place! The owner has no regards for his customers.

Do yourself a favour and don't order here. Told me they closing Just Eat orders st 11:20 pm . When I placed order at 10:42 pm which is 40 minutes before closing. Not even a big order , when called they argue I have ordered after closing. Why the he'll and who accepted the order , as it keeps updating the time for the later slot .. stupidity times 100

Lamb chops and lamb vindaloo absolutely gorgeous

Don't deserve 1 star but that's lowest I can do didn't deliver to us my wife called guy on the phone was extremely rude hung up on her. The driver turned up knocked at my neighbours first so clearly didn't know our address or where we live and had the cheek to say he delivered to us 20 minutes ago called the "restaurant" back again extremely rude on phone

Chicken wasn’t cooked and popperdoms was wet and soggy, my partner is pregnant and so I stopped her from eating it

As usual great food. Probably the best Indian in the 3 mile radius, from what I’ve tried.

Absolute horrible, took my online order, didn't deliver it, and then marked it as complete.

Absolute disgrace 😤 poor service waited for 2 hours when told 40 minutes maximum! Called twice to be told it was only just leaving for a second time before just eat telling me already delivered on app and the call operator telling me that I was basically lying loool 🤬🤬🤬do not order from this restaurant it's a bloody shambles doesn't deserve to take hard earned money from decent people trying to simply order something to eat!!!

Tbh I’m shocked at some of the bad reviews. I don’t think you can get a decent Indian takeaway in Dagenham and this is the only one I will go to. I think they are slightly overpriced when ordering a takeaway. But it’s the best in Dagenham so it’s worth paying the prices. Only Indian that seems to deliver Onion Bahji and they still taste good, curries are well spiced and flavoured and all the starters are just as good. Don’t be put off by the reviews. We have switched from our regular Indian to this one as we believe it is better.

I like there inside daining place

Took over 2 hours to arrive (ordered on a Wednesday). Attempted to call the restaurant and nothing at all.

I would have given this a 5 all day every day a year ago. However, I used to pay 20.00 for a 17.50 order as a tip to the driver then one day had a friend and I had a large curry he had normal...yet both curries were identical. Then they put price up to 20.00 for my normal meal because I always gave 20.00 so I figured they were trying to make money back from Covid. However, food was never good after that turning up barely warm and always crunchy parts in the meat which tasted like reheated rubber so I took a few months break, tried ordering the other day and not only did they suddenly want 2.00 delivery which is still advertised as free, but the driver wouldn't leave until I told him the 2.00 I gave him for that was the tip because how did I know they were charging now, but he gave me a dirty look. But I regretted even paying anything the rice tasted like it had just come out of a freezer the saj paneer was more or less non existent and the curry meat was so chewy it took about 10 minutes between each mouthful. I have gone from only using them to looking at alternatives which most are a lot cheaper and from talking with friends and neighbors at least a few of them deliver hot and edible food consistently. Never coming here again

Worst Restaurant in Dagenham by far - the food was really dry and really salty - I’ve also heard of mistreatment of their own workers - Definitely wouldn’t recommend

Food missing from order, when my partner called to let them know absolutely nothing was done about it, instead we were told that our missing items were there! Keep your Onion Bhajis gentlemen, keep your lamb chops that we apparently lied about not getting and I'll make sure I keep my money in future! The toilet has become my most frequented room anyway! If I wanted to spend money on a laxative then I'd have gone to the chemist! AND.... the staff need training on how to use the card machine! You've embarrassed yourselves guys! My Swedish born,, Alabaman residing great grandmother makes a better curry!

Food was tasty unfortunately it was takeaway only so unable to say how restaurant was.

I usually go for Chinese food but Royal Bengal has converted me. I got the set meal 1 because I was at home on my home. Rice beautiful. Chicken Tikka Masal beautiful. Lamb chops a bit greasy but still okay. Naan, Aloo, samosas, salad & dips all gorgeous. Would really recommend

Lovely food! I wish we could get 2 x mint sauce with our samosas as it is delicious and one is definitely not enough! We have ordered our favourites (lamb samosas, chicken madras and chicken naga) on a few occasions now and each time the food was very tasty! Thank you

Waited 2 hours for the food and when it did arrive the food quality isn't the same as it once was. Sagaloo watery left all liquid on the plate and mushy potatoes.

First time ordering this evening on recommendations from a friend. Must say was not disappointed. Ordered through just eat was delivered before time nice and hot. Every dish we ordered was full of flavour and looked very appealing. If I was to have a little critic it would be the portions are smaller then other establishments, but then I would say that cause I'm greedy and it was too tasty. Can I also mention the delivery driver was friendly, dropped food off at door and waited for it to be collected with exchangment of pleasantries. During this difficult time it is extremely hard for small businesses, however if service is like this all the time we will defiantly be ordering again - and who knows sometime in the future may even take advantage of dining in when allowed.

Eaten there several times before COVID. Was a pleasure eating ordered food tasty as always. Faster than published which definitely meant hunger was death with quickly. Thank guys keep up the good work.

Can’t give zero or minus stars so put down 1 star but they don’t even deserve that. The worst ever. I placed an order through just eats and initially they said that the order would be here for 8.30, 30 mins later it changed to 8.40. I had left a note with my order asking them to be on time and not to leave anything from my order as they have done so in the past. It went past 8.40 so I called the restaurant and some ignorant waiter or something clearly upset with his life answered. I asked about my delivery and the guy started barking down the phone saying what do you want me to do call just eats as it’s not my problem. Anyhow the order never turned up. Please don’t waste your time or money. They are not a serious business- no customer service experience. They are clowns.

Just had a curry from here and as usual you can't beat it. I've been using this restaurant now for about 5 or 6 years now and never Once had a bad meal. I really recommend this place and I don't recommend easily. Keep up the brilliant work 👏 👍.

Don’t really no what to say the lemonade came opened and half drunk the lamb was like rubber and it took over an hour to turn up. After we see the lemonade was open I couldn’t even eat the grub. Proper gone down the pan this gaff never again

Haven't eaten at the restaurant for a few years, but the food is still unbelievable. Even for someone with a fussy stomach no reaction whatsoever chicken Biraney absolutely delicious, and in all my life I have never tasted a sag aloo like it definitely be back next week.

Food is ugly and overcooked..my daughter can cook egg better than this if you can call it “restaurant “ lack of comunication, order a beer on a side, forgot to bring me..waited for 20 min to receive a beer separately.. nightmare if you wanna save money avoid

Just enjoyed possibly the best Induan takeaway I've ever had. The food was really tasty, super spicy, well-presented and piping hot. It came with free poppadoms and dips too. Service was really fast. As it's Tuesday, there was a discount applied on the food too. Really impressive- well done Royal Bengal on the first of many delicious takeaways for us.

Food came piping hot,great portions size and speedy delivery defo order again!

The food is good however I would recommend take away rather than eat in as it's not.very large and staff tend to be rushed and forget requests (ie drink orders for top ups) but otherwise very nice food

The 3 stars are for the food only, been there tonight and couldn't wait to leave. The place is very cold in there, total silence which doesn't make a nice atmosphere for having a meal, for me anyway, the young waiter places backwards and forwards constantly, cant blame him probably keeping warm, the barman constantly on his phone, more like a doctors waiting room, such a shame it's like this as I've had many good nights in there but time to call it a day now and find another Indian restaurant

The food used to be really good but they must of changed chef as the last 2 times we’ve had it it’s been awful. The lamb was tough, chewy and gristly. The chicken was over cooked and chewy and the onion bhaji’s were soggy. Going to have to find a new Indian now

Friday night. Nobody else eating in. Constant stream of takeaway drivers in & out, & talking. No bacardi or vodka in house so ended up with white wine which the waiter had no knowledge about. Prawn cocktail was defrosted, tasteless prawns with chopped lettuce & nearly transparent cheap sauce. No lemon slice or brown bread. Perhaps I expect too much? Main course took ages to arrive. My lamb Rogan was fine. The vegetable rice was greasy & brown. It was like it was old & had been heated up in the pan with too much oil. My husband's biriani looked just the same. We regularly order from this restaurant & the rice looks nothing like this. We didn't dare stay for a dessert as I dreaded to think how long they had been in the fridge/freezer. Worst meal out we have ever had & an utter disappointment for celebrating a 60th birthday.

It’s a recist restaurant. I ordered food through Just eat after 50 minutes of arrival time which is 1 hour and 50 minutes. I called restaurant, they said they are very busy because of weekend and food will be late. I asked why don’t you inform me. That person became angry. He reply me, they are doing business for 23 years. Asian customers are greedy, have not patiences. Start argument threatening me. He will block my just eat account and recall delivery driver and cut phone call. Try to speak that person, he didn’t pick my phone call. It’s was my first time order to this restaurant and had worst experience ever.

Food was average. Tandoori King Prawn Masala only had 3 prawns in it, with plenty of sauce but the flavour was ok. Placed an order over the phone for delivery and the menu states Free within 4 miles but they charged me £2.50 for a 3.2 mile journey, man on the phone said it was Free within 3miles. I call that false advertising. Delivery driver said he would report back my complaint and we woulf get a call. Still waiting for the call. Based on this they will not get any more orders from me.

Just love the food in this resturant. Freshly prepared while you wait so fresh and hot when served. Staff are attentive and will change anything if not quite right. Must try

I've been eating/ordering there for over 10 years and it has steadily declined. No flavour in the dishes and the staff are too eager to to serve you...which is strange because probably 80% is takeaway.

Waited over 3 hours for our mains which never arrived. The food is bland and doesnt taste of much. Not authentic. Very racially serviced. They treat the white folks like royalty and the rest rest like scum. I wont ever be going there again. The chefs have an aweful attitude and are not very polite.

Always good food nice and quick I have chicken tikka dansak never failed me yet even better when you come out of the denham and on to the bengal

Feel slightly robbed. They have a huge banner on the shop front which states 1/2 price food which includes mondays. When we sat in one day and asked the waiter about the half price food he replied by saying it's 25% off not 50%. That's despite the huge banner and the 50% off is also stated on the menu. Didn't bother challenging as I'm not gonna lose much sleep over a tenner! Feel slightly cheated though. Food was average.

Food was terrible, sorry to say this but the food compelled me to give review. I ordered lamb chop, chicken chat and chicken biryani. will start with lamb chop, none of spice went in the chop, it was hard to chew which should not be the case. Then chicken chat, spice or gravy what we call as chat pat gravy was terrible. it was like boiled chicken mixed in latpat gravy. Nothing went into the chicken and gravy was having too much of uncooked turmeric. Then the final main course, Biryani was like fried rice with too much of oil mixed with boiled chicked pieces which felt like a rubber balls. Please taste the food before you deliver..

nice food I ordered meat samosas and it was £2.79 and I payed with a 5 pound note and he took the change thinking I was gona give it to him as a tip but I ordered take away so just shows they are polite and happy to serve you but a bit sly and crafty so watch it

This time the staff seemed to be in a hurry to clear the table after each course then we waited a long while for the next course. Food was good tasty and enjoyable. There was a bottle of water on table. We drank nearly all the water and found we were charged £4.00 for the water when the bill came up. Apart from that it's a good place for an evening out. No loud music but TV on side was playing but we could hear ourselves talking.

Best Indian so far. I’m a Restrurent owner myself and I was really amazed by their service and delicious food. Was really quick and 100% real taste of authentic Indian. Big thanks for having us and enjoy.

Our favourite Indian takeaway food in area. Very tasty food, big portions delivery in 45 minutes. Big variety and vegetarian options.

Our amazing and tasty favourite Indian. We went for the 50% off Sunday to Thursday and come back for the amazing food. Have regularly returned with our friends and family who now go there on their own. All their dishes that we have tried which is now quite a few have all been good. Very accommodating and will listen to any requests you have. Only issue is it's looking a tad dated inside now which might out people off. If you want a Indian and a guaranteed good meal with no issues for a valued price look no more.

This is the best Indian in the area. The portion sizes are huge, the flavours are so authentic. Food is always piping hot and the service is great. We have used for years and have never had any complaints. Only downside is the naan breads are very well done sometimes, but this is no big deal :)

While the food was mediocre, the star rating reflects the terrible service standard. They deliberately padded the bill and then tried to justify it with lies. To make matters worse, they stated that it usually works and it's just what they do. Definitely a place to avoid

King prawn Madras, sagg aloo, tandoori King prawn are all very nice. I get a lot of takeaways from here when working late. Food is always piping hot.

If you know the real Indian food taste then this taste not near enough Indian. I have visited the place for dinner & served with all ready made food from Supermarkets. Curry & Grill standard was poor.

I tried to order something simple since it was my first time ordering a takeaway in Dagenham only to find myself being shocked at the rudeness of the person on the other end of the call. However this experience can only be topped with the food I received when I went into the store. I have never eaten anything so repulsive in my life, even I couldn't make a curry that bad! If you're thinking of ordering anything from here other than water, please don't.

Just moved to the area, its our first take away and we will definitely be ordering from here regularly! Great food best Sag Paneer we've ever tasted. Speedy delivery reasonable prices.
