Everything about Brightside (as it’s now called) is just really good: there’s an extensive range of food freshly cooked to order, the decor is bright and sunny and all the staff we met were very friendly and most helpful, It was a pleasure throughout and we look forward to returning. Highly recommended.

We had heard that the Route restaurants were closing and wanted to enjoy them one last time. We turned up with no booking and there was plenty of room as it was after the lunchtime rush. Despite it being the last shift the staff were still very friendly and helpful even though there were a few items not available in the menu. Lucky for us they had everything we wanted. This place never fails to be good and its such a shame its closing down, the burgers are amazing. We wait to see what the new owners do with the place (The Lounge Group). Although I am sure the decor won't be the same which is a shame as this adds to the atmosphere. It will be sadly missed.

Been vegi for over 30 yrs. Ordered the vegetarian burrito- halfway through found a piece of chicken - turned out they had given me a chicken burrito instead. As some of it was such small pieces I didn't realise at first! I'm absolutely fuming. Avoid if you're vegi

We pre booked for breakfast as we were on our way to Exeter Airport and didn't want to miss out but at 9am it wasn't too busy so didn't need to book. We were offered one of the booths in the window which was great for us as we had a fully loaded car in the car park and we could keep an eye on it. We both ordered the East Coast breakfast and as always it didn't disappoint. For drinks we had one pot of tea (you can get 2-3 cups out of one pot) and a pint of Pepsi Max. Was good to call in here as Exeter Airport doesn't offer much so we were all set for the long day ahead of us. We would always recommend Route 5 as the food and service are always spot on.

We came and visited on Tuesday afternoon after being at a lovely spa, unfortunately we waited 5 minutes by the tills to be seated and no staff were around, however we heard them all talking out the back. Once we sat down, a gent took our drink and food order. About 15 minutes later no drinks were at our table, and all the staff were in the right hand side of the bar all chatting away and doing zero work. However, there was one lady, tall with long brown hair, she was the only one running around doing service!! The poor lady made a comment about how she didn’t have any staff to help her! Had our drinks come to us after the food, the lady was so apologetic but it wasn’t her fault. Food was very lovely, and the lady deserves to be recognised for all the work she was doing! I manage a pub myself, and something needs to be changed dramatically. I even saw a table of 2 walk in and then leave because no staff were around!!

Went into the cafe and had a combo meal ,lots to eat and best thing was we could take our dog in,Staff were really welcoming

I cannot praise this place enough for the service, atmosphere, presentation, of food, taste of the food and, in true American style the amount of food on the plate ordered,the taste was truly authentic, as having relatives in Texas, and visiting many times I can truly say that this was a real American food and service experience opposite Exeter Racecourse

We weren’t expecting Gordon Ramsay but definitely weren’t expecting farm foods cheapest. Nothing wrong with a burger van burger but for £4 not £12 Partners chilli was fresh out of the tin. Terrible food way too much money

Stopped off for a bite had a main of classic beef nachos and a coke. Can't complain about the food, you get what you pay for and it was fine but was charged £5.05p for a Pepsi from a dispenser.... That's just being greedy..

Came here with my family for supper. Super slow service - for each course - considering there were only 3 tables including ours and more than enough staff to cover. Slow drinks coming out - had to hand signal the staff for more and had to ask them to clear the plates when we had finished. Final straw was being asked if I wanted to use the loo as I entered the ladies and being told - oh I was going clean them -but ok - and she stood aside. When she came out asked the other waitress why she hadn’t stopped me from going in. Not what I expect after spending close to £180 for a meal for 4. Great food dreadful service… Will not be going back.

Great value for money. The food was tasty, decent quality and served quickly. The service was very friendly and efficient. The restaurant was spotless including all the sauce bottles on the table .

As a couple who visit often we won’t return after the awful meal we had. Rubbery, microwaved fish and a bowl of hot nachos, just the nachos, nothing else, for £8. 😂😂 in these times you have to look after your customers, give them good food for the price you char*e or they won’t come back….. PS WE WONT BE BACK

So let me start by saying we have eaten here possibly twice a month for a long time. Our last visit however was a catastrophe. I hadn’t ordered the salmon before so I though I’d give it a go ad I quite fancied fish for dinner. My partner ordered the chicken wraps. We also ordered plain nachos.DONT Drinks arrived and then the meals in good time as usual. The salmon was grey and rubbery and a little slimy and the wraps were soggy. So when the waitress came over to ask how everything was I said we weren’t happy. We were told the salmon is microwaved and the wraps were wraps. The best was the plain nachos. A bowl of oven warmed nachos, no sauce no cheese at £8+ laughable The follow up with the area Mgr that took 2 weeks to get in contact was frankly embarrassing for their company We will never return

Just Don’t! Arrived and impressed with the authentic American feel, though they’ve put some effort into getting this right, reassuringly expensive burger listed and pint at £18.00 and friendly waitress. When it arrived it looked OK’ish but the coleslaw was the cheapest garage shop variety, burger like you would regret from a late night pub-crawl van and frozen value chips that were frankly awful. Very unimpressed absolutely the cheapest crappy ingredients, save yourself a packet and go to Mac Donald’s next door infinitely better and about £4.00. I was actually cross for an unsuspecting family that get a huge bill for crap, at least it was only me! Obviously they don’t want repeat business just tourists on drive home from Devon!

We stopped at this branch while travelling back from Cornwall having had good experience in their 2 sister restaurants. They didn’t disappoint. The menu is well marked for gluten free and there is also a detailed but easy-to-use allergen breakdown. We had a traditional bap with egg, bacon and sausage for the ‘normal’ person and the frangipane tart (without cream) for gluten free and dairy free. Coffee was excellent too. There’s a nice sunny terrace and an indoor area for guests with dogs. We were very pleased and will be stopping again next time.

The menu is huge, offering a wide selection of American-inspired dishes, with even a small selection of vegans/vegetarians. Dogs are allowed in a separate dining area. In the main eating area, there isn’t much spacing between the seating arrangements, which isn’t particularly comfortable

It took longer to be served than to cook the food.The first vegetable lasagne was microwaved and cold the second was hot but very sloppy. the pizza was microwaved and over done the macaroni cheese was microwaved and my little boy didn't like it. I had steak and it came with peas corn and chips all of them were covered in blood.The only thing American about this place is the decor.Nice lady who I paid apologised and offered to take the drinks off the bill, I would have rather not paid for the food.

Drove past this on our way to a weekend break. Decided to stop and have a family breakfast treat on our way home.Such a cool place and the menu and staff were amazing. Great value and the kids loved being in an American diner. We will most certainly look forward to another visit next time we pass.

Visited for the first time this evening and food was lovely as was the staff. How anyone can leave negative feedback regarding this place is beyond me. First time visiting and it definitely won't be our last.

The size of the chips was a child's portion and like warm the chicken was so over cooked you could not cut it you had to tear it apart. I began to think this place is going to be my local feed hole. 2nd thoughts I rather not as spend 20.00 in their still hungry so not happy

When we walked into route 5 we were greeted by a lovely member of staff, who showed us to our seats and took our drink order. The table, restaurant, and toilets were all very clean! I had the ribs and chicken combo, which comes with potato wedges, sweetcorn and coleslaw. My partner had the BBQ Chicken Stack Burger, which comes with fries and coleslaw. We also ordered a side of onion rings. And for dessert we shared the 10 stack of mini doughnuts, which come with, chocolate, strawberry and butterscotch dipping sauces.So, for my meal, the chicken and rib combo, I would say that the ribs, the sweetcorn, the wedges and the coleslaw was absolutely delicious! I was not the biggest fan of the chicken, it was a little tough for my liking, however the rest of the meal was really nice! I would also say that the portion sizes were really really large - and completely made the meal good value for money.The BBQ Chicken Stack Burger was delicious and was a highlight of the meal. The fries were good (there was a lot of them!), and the coleslaw was also nice.One disappointment was the onion rings, it would have been nice if they had been bigger and more crunchy, but with such a large variety on the menu, this isn't a big issue.Also, the doughnuts were amazing, as to be expected!We would definitely eat here again, for tables of 2, you cannot book it is only walk in, so keep that in mind! There is also parking onsite!

Great lunch. I had the BBQ burger, my wife had the vegetarian breakfast and my 2yr old had a bagel and fries. Food was very good and service brilliant, especially considering they were down on staff today. We will be back 👍😁🍔

We were asked to sit at a table less than 2 meters away from tables either side of us, we asked to sit at one of the other vacant tables but were refused. We were left feeling very uncomfortable. There were signs everywhere reminding people to social distance shame this company doesn’t practice what it preaches.First and last time I go to this chain of restaurants as they are very overpriced and overrated !!!!!!My breakfast was cold too !!!

Always end up coming here at least once when we're on holiday. This time we made it for breakfast and an evening meal during our stay. Food was great, far better than Route 38 which we also visited once while in the area. Portion sizes are big so make sure you're hungry!! Staff are all friendly and helpful, couldn't ask for much more!

I dunno how but every time I go it’s superb, that’s including food, service, price and time - if you’re in doubt have a salad, I guarantee you won’t regret it

I've never done this before but just had to let you know. My wife and I stopped here for a bite to eat on Saturday and I have to say, the whole experience was not nice. Firstly we were left waiting for what seemed forever until I finally flagged down one of the waiting staff who seemed more interested in their latest snap chat post than serving the customer. When said meals arrived, the burger was drier than Gandys left flip flop and talk about triple fried chips, these buggers must have been cooked about twenty times. Nice and crunchy to the point I think I may have broken a tooth. As for the wife's meal. She thought the fish sounded good. Oh how wrong she was. The fish was surrounded with impenetrable batter that almost broke the cutlery and once inside, the fish had more bones than our local cemetery and took longer to fish them out than try to eat the meal. To be fair, I didn't make a scene at the time as I quite honestly felt embarrassed for the 'chef ' and all involved in our hilariously memorable (for all the wrong reasons) meal. I thinks it's safe to say, we will not be setting foot inside here again in this lifetime or any another.P.s At least it's given us a hilarious memory we can talk about in years to come with friends and family

I went in for breakfast last thursday and I have to say it was dreadful. I ordered an Eastcoast, the sausages were really cheap and grissely, the bacon was salty, the tomato was raw, toast was cold and eggs had back bits on them!Needless to say the waitress virtually had her fake nail touching my beans which was really off putting! My food came 10 minutes before my coffee, very dissatisfied with service and food, I do not recommend this dinner to anyone!!

Frozen food, deep fried and greasy. Staff havnt a clue, got our order wrong twice, Couldn't get there attention, they were to busy hiding behind the bar and chatting, toilets filthy, no loo roll and 2 were blicked and generally felt very unclean!!! My husband ordered steak which was tough, and my fish was dire, I've had better from iceland!! Will never go back to that dump!!

Poped in for Dinner on our way up to Somerset. Food was nice, we had a Vegetarian Sharing combo as when been previously we had a normal combo with Nachos extra so thought we tried a veggie version as you get Nachos instead of Chicken. Our error here is that the Nachos came without Cheese (to be Vegan friendly as well as Veggie I assume) our error but left the Nachos rather dry. Rest of Platter very nice and good size for two people, BBQ sauce dip was divine. Washed down with two Gigantic milkshakes, this served as are dessert as you wouldn't want they on top of anything else i wouldn't think. Very good prices for the amounts of food/drink.Staff did seem a bit...disinterested, not rude as such just not to bothered. When are food was bought out the server just threw it down (spilling nachos off the plate) and said 'here you go' and left, no 'can i get you anything else' etc. As we were having sharing platter we wanted some side plates so we got attention of other server who was very friendly and she went and got some for us.

I was recommended this restaurant by a fellow holiday maker with children.She said you will enjoy it, but it looks nothing from the outside.The service was really prompt and friendly.The portions were generous and the good was tasty, freshly cooked and hot.I'd be happy to return again.

Booked a table and when arrived someone else was sat on our table, the waiter moved us to another table right by the kitchen but no problem, the waitress took our order for drinks and food, the waiter brought out our food and was quite rude, slammed plates down in front of us and didn’t offer us any sauce or checked if everything was okay only until I asked, during the meal a couple of people from our table had finished but some hadn’t, the waiter came over and removed plates whilst people were still eating, immediately making us feel rushed! A few moments later he came over and asked if my friend if she wanted her food boxed up to take home, she was still eating at this point and actually had food in her hand, his service was extremely rude and the food was tasteless and tacky. I understand he may have wanted to leave however they should have booked a table in for 8pm if they planned to close at 9pm! We weren’t offered desserts we were rushed out the door to leave and pay, overall really bad experience, overpriced on drinks and wouldn’t go back

A very disappointing visit. I ordered a ‘vegetarian combo’ which comprised of various indistinguishable beige items accompanied by a bowl of ice burg lettuce. I found the dish to be as miserable as the waiting staff who genuinely looked inconvenienced when we went to place our order. My husband didn’t fare much better with his pulled pork nachos. Again the dish was dry and bland, even for such a simple menu item and my husband insisted that he had a layer of grease on his tongue for the rest of the day.Aside from the disappointing meal, there were more pressing concerns for this establishment as they seemed to completely disregard all social distancing measures with diner’s tables closely packed together.I would advise any potential patrons to avoid this restaurant. Sorry (not sorry).

Called in here with my wife for brunch, big mistake. I can only assume that everything I ate was bought from a bargain frozen food chain then allowed to sit in a deep fat fryer for a couple of minutes. This was possibly the worst food I’ve ever eaten. The staff seemed embarrassed dropping the order off at our table. Absolute slop, give this place a wide birth.

Service was quick and staff were polite! We were seated, orders taken and food came out in really good time! The food was at a fair price and you get what you pay for. Vegan menu and vegetarian menu so lots to choose from for people who need these. Overall a great lunch!

We decided to stop off at this restaurant on our way home from holiday when we arrived it seemed quite busy but we were shown to a table ..have to say there wasn't much social distance between tables they did have hand santizer and people were wearing face covering . After about 10 minutes the waitdress took our drinks order and they asked about food all good food arrived after about half an hour i had a Vegetarian lasagne which was nice not much in the way of salad my hubby had steak which he said was nice we then finished our meal and then waited for about 20 minutes then asked for two puddings both were nice in totel the bill was £47.05 that includes drinks so not bad ...only thing was no one asked us about contact details due to covid which i did find a bit odd if we ever go past again we would go back

Stopped at 745 am for breakfast, we were the only two in there. Ordered two breakfasts one without beans, the waiter strolled up with them and said chef has put beans on do you want me to take them off because he will shout at me if I take them back, I was left kind of bemused to say the least! No apology was made and the food was well over cooked. I would never eat here again..... avoid if I was you!

Stopped here for breakfast and was very impressed with the food, service and Covid-19 procedures. Will definitely return.

Unfortunately the food was not very good.The blue cheese burger was very, very hot. Most people would ask "whats wrong with that", it was so hot and sloppy it was as if it was microwaved.The burger was bun, burger and blue cheese. No salad, no onion, no condiment. With a portion of fries and nothing else. Expensive slop.Save your time and money and go to Maccy Ds next door.

Visited over the weekend, was well greeted and asked to follow standard hand sanitising etc. Given menus and had plenty of time to decide, food was fantastic, filling and good value. Milkshakes are a must!! Overall great first visit and will certainly be returning.

Lovely food and plentiful it,great service with a very friendly server. I have never had a bad meal in any of the route restaurants but this one is the best 😃

It was apparent the staff were stressed and the waitress begrudgingly took our order. We were avoided by staff as much as possible. Starters took over 1 hour for Nachos and the mains took over 1 hour again. Total waiting time for two course 2 and a half hours. The chicken wings weren't up to much would have done better to stay home and open a bag from the freezer. No salad or chips served with them just a plate of dry chicken wings. Will not be going back just not worth it at all.

Whilst staying close by we went past this restaurant and thought it looked ok. So as part of the eat out to help out we ate breakfast here many times during our stay. Our sever josh was great. However we decided to go for dinner. This is where the positivity ends. We waited ages for our meals to arrive. As there was 8 of us I understood to a point. When the meals did arrive my steak was not “grilled” as shown it was at beat pa n fried and it really missed that char grilled taste. Then desserts. They had run out of the donut stacks for this kids and offered an alternative this was ok. So the kids desserts came out and a full 10 mins later 3 more desserts came out. 5 mins late another dessert came out then finally the last desserts arrived. Unfortunately by this point the children had finished. I had ordered the knickerbocker glory. Well please avoid this. I go strawberry jelly 3 massive chunks of pineapple, one scoop of melted strawberry ice cream and a load of cream slopped on top with a bit of strawberry sauce. Honestly I can’t tell you how poor this dessert was. All in all we did get the cost of the desserts refunded. It didn’t totally ruin our experience but we would only ever return for breakfast.

Last day under the eat out scheme and our 3rd visit. The staff here work so hard and provide such a great service, portion sizes are huge, restaurant is clean and tidy, all the staff sanitising and cleaning. So much choice and variety. Recommended

Came here as a last minute decision as everywhere was fully booked! Feel like it was a blessing in disguise. Such a lovely little American themed diner, all the staff are very friendly and helpful. Food is absolutely amazing! We were served by Vanessa who was an absolute gem! Will definately be visiting again - most importantly, AMAZING VALUE FOR MONEY!

We were met at the door by a friendly guy and shown to our table. They gave us a few minutes to look at the menu then took our order. One was loaded chips and chicken wings and two had the full western breakfast, another had a tea cake. Teas and coffees were brought out almost immediately and then the food arrived in super quick time, hot and totally freshly cooked. Staff were friendly and attentive and we got it all half price on the Eat Out to Help Out scheme. This place is fantastic and we will definitely return.

Our first time out for a long time, usually love it here, good price good portions.Lad who served us was great.Our daughter in law had a great meal, soft taco's. My steak was a bit ropey but gooded well. Sorry to say my wife's steak was awful, I know she asked for MW, but it was VWD and tough as old boots, We hoped someone would check and then hoped when the waitress picked it up she would ask as nearly the whole steak was left. What seemed like the main waited walked our way, nope turned away. Even hoped when paying they would ask if everythink was ok, Nope again.Pretty sure they knew, but bottled it!!I know we should have said, just don't like to make a fuss. So we bottled it too, so I'm on here.As I said usually get a great meal, 4 months we've been waiting for a decent steak... GUTTED.

Great food at good prices! Perfect pit stop on our way through Exeter. Service was very good but no outdoor seating available at that time.

Food was good, large portions and sensible price, quick and hot. Atmosphere was good for the first half of the meal and then they had a power cut (absolutely not their fault) and they struggled to get back on track. It looked like there is one woman who serves the food and takes the orders etc, another that works on the bar, another on the till etc When the power went out the woman who serves also had to get the till up and running. Instead of the other staff stepping in to help the customers were left waiting while she dealt with it, with the other staff standing around watching. I don’t know if she was new and this was just how they have always done it or if she has been here the longest and is training the rest. There was a lack of working as a team. To my mind, whether you serve the drinks or are a manager if there is a problem you all step in and help each other. The ‘waitress’ (only one out of four or five people), was great, she was running around trying to do everything, it is boiling hot at the moment And she did look disheveled but she was the only one really working . I agree with a previous post regarding the drinks menu - we weren’t given one - I don’t understand why not. You must book in. Especially at the moment. We watched 3 families turn up randomly and were turned away.

After being seated at are pre booked table it took over half an hour for a waitress to come and take are order. Main meal was loved by my family however after we finished meal, the waitress collected plates then took nearly 3/4 of an hour to bring us the deserts menu. The puddings in route 5 are very poor, the donut ring tower was very doughy and under cooked, and my strawberry knickerbocker glory was absolutely disgusting, no strawberries in the bottom just 2 quarters of a frozen apple with skin still on and 2 frozen blueberries. The staff was very unorganised and did not seem to have any idea on how to run a restaurant floor, more in-depth training would most definitely be a very good idea, and smiling and being happy in your jobs would never go a miss, when so many people in the currant climate have no jobs. Only one hand sanitizers on way into restaurant and what seemed to be no covid procedures in place and no ppe was worn at any point in are visit by the staff, to the point that not even the menus was wiped down after a customer had used them and where witnessed just being put back in pile for next customers.

Was sitting in traffic in Haldon Hill when the delicious smell coming from this American restaurant caught my attention... Being a homesick Canadian, I just had to try it... Was very positively impressed with the care, service and food... a definite stop any time I drive by this area for sure...

Me and my friend visited here on Tuesday evening for the first time, we were a little worried after seeing some previous reviews but safe to say we had nothing to worry about. It was busy but our waiter josh was great, really friendly guy with a good sense of humour and very attentive. Service was fast and if your a big eater then this is the place to come as the portion sizes were big! We shall be back soon.

Arrived and seated with no problems although moved tables as the one we had been allocated was quite small. We where shortly asked if we where ready to order food but we hadn’t been asked about drinks or been given any drinks menus. Waitress wasn’t sure about the alcoholic drinks available and had to ask her to go and check as she stood at the table instead of saying I will go and find out as we where unable to have a look ourselves for obvious reasons. After ordering food the wrong food got bought out to our table twice! Staff didn’t even know what the food was they where bringing out, one said I think this is steak, when it was chicken. We where then given a poor excuse as to why we had received the wrong food twice. The waitresses are scruffy looking and clearly don’t care about their appearance. Being an assistant manager myself in hospitality I would be highly embarrassed if the staff performed like this, training is essential. Will not be returning in the near future.

Just called in. 3 of us got sat in a back to back booth less than 1 metre apart from other diners even though we asked to be sat somewhere else further away. No one took our details. Very poor ventilation. We walked out.Went there 2 weeks ago everything fine. 2 metres being maintained. Someone took our details on arrival. What has happened?Won’t be back!

After not seeing my friends since the end of February, we all finally felt safe enough to meet up and go out for dinner. Usually we are happy and impressed with the food and the service... but tonight, tonight things did not go very well!To start with, the toilet was utterly disgusting and didn't really lock properly, understandable giving the current situation but disgusting none-the-less.We all ordered with a young looking waitress, seemed to be one have been her one of her first shifts. One of our dishes came incorrect, ordered a chicken salad and was given a chicken and chips. Myself, I ordered a mixed grill and ordered my steak Medium, when my dish came out it was well-done. I also had to ask for a steak knife. More so, my sides both came out late (a pepercorn sauce and a bowl of mac & cheese). When the chicken salad finally arrived after maybe 10 minutes, it was obvious that the salad was not very fresh.We ate what we could as we were all hungry, but nearly half of all our meals were left. We waited for our waitress to check back on us to see if we were enjoying our meals (a very basic service technique) but to no avail. We went nearly half an hour with these half finished plates on out table. Then only after we managed to get the attention of one of the older waitresses did we ask to see a member of management, only to be told there was no manager in and that she was acting manager for the time being.So, we aired out complaints to the acting manager. Her body language and general tone of voice came across very sarcastically. Maybe more staff training is due? Other staff members were doing check backs on other tables so it became apparent that out table was being deliberately ignored.More so on the staff training, the younger waitress who served my group was carrying full glasses of drinks from the very rim of the glass, a massive no-no when serving drinks normally... but during a time of a global epidemic? To make this worse, never once did we see them sanitising there hands.As a finishing note, all four of our group have worked in busier pubs and restaurants for years and seeing these very basic, yet critical mistakes happen, and when we mentioned this to the acting manager we were fronted by the same sarcastic attitude...

So have passed by this roadside restaurant so many times and we always said that we must stop and try sometime. Well this weekend we did exactly that as it was a convenient break in our journey. Authentic US style interior and the kids (and some adults) will love the Harley Davidson that is the centrepiece of the restaurant. Good was cheap and plentiful, just like in a US diner. Thought that it was great value and well worth stopping again.

Amazing portion sizes, decent quality. Would eat here again. Very good service and parking too. Loads of choice on the menu.

Sat down and ordered, young lad seemed off, after ordering we got out drinks at a quick time, after about 10 minutes from ordering our food arrived! Very disappointed, had pulled pork wrap and sweet chilli chicken wrap, my self and partner had swapped so we had one of each flavour, bbq pulled pork was seeping out dark orange Greece, the wrap was slimy and not very appetizing! The chicken wrap, the chicken wasnt cooked long enough and very soggy! The server didnt come over to see if everything was okay, didnt stay very long and left, very pricey for the quick food they serve out! Overall experience was shocking and definitely wont be returning!

Won’t be returning. It was a busy Sunday morning and we were seated promptly. After 20 minutes we walked to the bar as our order hadn’t been taken. We were advised they were short staffed as people hadn’t turned up for work and they would come over straight away to take our order.10 minutes later still no one came to us but they continued to take orders and served everyone who had been seated after us.On leaving I told them the table was now free due to the bad service. Got a half hearted sorry but they just seemed too busy to even care and that actually us leaving was a help to them.

Was really excited to try this place ! Looks great through the window, on arrival we were seated by a lovely server and ordered our good. When my bagel arrived I could hardly chew it, tasted stale and under cooked. Hubby had the breakfast, wasn’t as big as people had said. All lovely, just not fantastic. Pricey too

I have eaten here for many a breakfast and they've all been fab. The service I received this afternoon was appalling. When our meals were delivered, that was the last time we saw a waitress. No one asked us how our meal was, and after picking our desserts, we didn't even get to order them as STILL no one came to the table. I was going to complain on exiting the establishment but the blonde lady taking payment did not even ask how our meal was, so I didn't say anything as my complaint would have fallen on deaf ears. Note to owners: when we arrived we were told we were using the last free table, as all the others were reserved, I then saw at least 2 other families turned away. The ironic thing was, that the reserved tables were still not used by the time we left. Perhaps if families venture all the way out to your restaurant, your staff could say "the only table we have needs to be used in 45 minutes". There was no more than 6 tables with families on throughout our whole visit. Your staff were being incredibly lazy.

Waffle was good, doughnuts ok but not anything special. Was disappointed at having to pay £2.95 for a milkshake that we couldn’t drink and even though I asked outright, they wouldn’t take it off the bill. Plenty of staff milling around but not very attentive. Had to find someone twice for cutlery and to pay at the end. Had someone come and checked on us earlier we would of had time for them to make a less sweet milkshake which they offered at the end, but they weren’t able to take it off the bill. Shame really. Probably wouldn’t return or recommend.

Sé que era la hora del almuerzo, pero realmente me gustaba un plato de tocino y huevos, así que pedí el desayuno Eastcoast comprometiendo dos de todo. Qué plato, servido con bastante rapidez y muy delicioso. ¡Fue mi primera visita, pero intentaré encontrar una excusa para volver a visitarla!

Nos detuvimos aquí de camino al aeropuerto de Exeter para pasar unas vacaciones. La comida era excelente y obviamente es de temática estadounidense. Como era temprano, tomamos el desayuno de la costa oeste y honestamente podemos decir que fue increíble, ¡pero no esperes comida baja en calorías ya que las porciones son grandes!

Se detuvo en A 38 cerca del bosque Haldon para llenar el desayuno de estilo americano. 2 x salchichas, 2 x tocino, 2 x huevo y 2 x panqueques con una generosa jarra de jarabe dulce quizás por un precio muy razonable 7. 35) El restaurante está bien decorado (molesto olvidó la cámara) con una Harley Bike como pieza central. El personal fue amable y el servicio fue rápido.

Great Restaurant,Big Menu, Staff superb and service excellent. Restaurant very busy but dealt with quickly and food served exceptionally fast. Great surroundings and interesting items in restaurant. Highly recommend a visit.

Restaurante bastante nuevo, así que parecía una buena idea. Lo suficientemente barato como para llevar a toda la pandilla. ¿El enorme tazón de lechuga? y el pepino era ridículo. La "ensalada de fruta fresca" fue enlatada. Cuando lo retiramos, explicaron que se habían quedado sin fruta fresca. ¡Venga! Es otoño. Estamos en el medio de Devon.

We often pass this restaurant but decided to go in this time.This restaurant is well worth a visit we ordered scampi & chips & steak & chips when they came they were steak plates completely full well worth the money unfortunately I couldn’t eat it all as I though I was really hungry but my stomach had other ideas will definitely go back but will order smaller portions would give this restaurant 10 stars well worth a visit and the prices are reasonable.

Last night we decided to eat out and have never been to Route 5 so drove out on a rainy Wednesday evening along the road to Plymouth. At Haldon hill we turned off the road and found Route 5 easily. Surprisingly it was very busy inside. We ordered the Barramundi dish and the enchiladas as I am only eating vegetarian food at the moment. As we were in an American diner we decided to have an ice cream float and both enjoyed this drink. The food that arrived was wonderful and large portions. My meal was so big that we shared most of it together. The wedges were really nice and with the fish came French fries. Both meals had a salad included.

My wife and I visited Route 5 for an evening meal and weren’t disappointed. The food was good and my portion size was good but my wife’s meal was massive. The only problem with the size was that we don’t have any room for desserts and I had to help my wife finish her meal and that sort of thing doesn’t help the waste line. The atmosphere was good and the staff were pleasant so I did enjoy the whole experience and will go back (for a salad meal).

Really lovely and filling. Served quickly. Lovely smiley staff. Only down side is that the toilets were not particularly clean.

We stopped here for food on our way home. The staff are polite and pleasant. I had the swiss burger, + an extra beefburger, fries and a side order of mushroom sauce. The burgers were massive and very tasty. The mushrooms were fresh and there was a large helping of swiss cheese. I decided to sacrifice the bun as I wouldn't have been able to eat it all. I would come back again. Fast friendly and tasty, just what we needed to get us home.

The food came out very quickly, the food was great except the sausages were really not to my taste (cheap frozen ones I think) all was going fine until I seen the state of the toilets, dirty, grubby and didn’t flush. Great shame given everything else was great

Excellent portions and quality good food. Not greasy and good decor. Shame there was a hair in one of our meals.

The food was really nice on the English breakfast! However the pancakes were a bit tough around the edge to cut, apart from that really nice and would go again if needed. Also a large variety on the menu to choose from!

After having a couple of friends recommend this place for breakfast we thought we would try it out.

My wife and I went here for breakfast and it ticked all the boxes. The staff were helpful, the food was good and the Eastcoast breakfast was larger than I expected. All told it was worth the money and we will visit again.
