I visit Ross's Cafe regularly on trips to Belfast from London. It is a consistently exceptional, established, owner managed independent cafe and my "go to" cafe of choice when visiting Belfast. It has a warm, welcoming and relaxed atmosphere with lovely furniture, decor and lighting and is a refreshing change from the chain cafe experience. John, the owner is a highly experienced chef and welcoming host and all the staff are very friendly, efficient and professional. I visited on the 6th December for lunch and had the fish soup. It was sensational. Perfect. I've never tasted a better fish soup....anywhere. The menu is always excellent, not too extensive and regularly changed with lovely fresh ingredients.. Think delicious boeuf bourguignon with fresh crusty bread, freshly prepared meatballs in a wonderful sauce and spaghetti and also on the menu last Friday was a delicious Spanish Tortilla. The coffee is always excellent. The prices are always very reasonable for the wonderful items offered. I really cannot recommend Ross's Cafe highly enough.

Visited for breakfast yesterday and lunch today whilst in Belfast on business. A small but very flavoursome menu of home cooked foods. I enjoyed the cosy basement and the warm gentle manner of the man who was serving.

I have been a few times for lunch and have to say I could not fault anything.....food was really different, well thought out and delicious (I am pescatarian and there was always something to suit, owner mentioned that the sauce for the chicken tagine was made separately so I could have it!). The staff were very friendly and helpful. Free Wifi. Lots of character.

Just off May Street you see the sign for Ross's. Great service, coffee and cake, bags of character. Try the spanish omelette at lunchtime.

This is a really good cafe with a wide range of imaginative and well cooked food on a well thought out menu. 4 of us all had different meals and all really good from soups, to flat bread with chicken and an artery challenging fried rice dish. Just a great place to eat and spend some time.

This is a cafe attached to Ross's Auction Rooms near the City Hall but even if you're not interested in browsing the auction rooms, it's an ideal spot for breakfast, elevenses, lunch. The soup is always good and there is a blackboard selection of freshly made dishes. There are daily newspapers available to read as well. Nice art on the walls too.

It is a great pleasure to be the first to write a review for this cafe. Good coffee, the scones and pastries are excellent. What else? Nice atmosphere, quite basic but staff are great. One of Belfast's hidden gems. A good place for lunch, I normally only go for morning coffee but the lunches look great as well.

Give it a go what have you got to loose, let the coffee speak for itself. You wont regret it unless you don't try it. JUST ENJOY.

Best thing about my walk to work! Although I haven't seen him around lately. Never feel shy in asking for a coffee suggestion - this place knows its beans!
