We were very disappointed with lunch here on our visit to Wimbledon. Service was very poor and slow. And to cap it all, they got our order wrong. To compensate, the management did take the wrong meals off the bill. But still very disappointing 😞 Thank you for your speedy reply. We visited The Rose and Crown on many occasions and have always been very happy with the service and the food there and will be happy to visit you again.

This was my first time at The Rose & Crown, we had planned lunch for my mums birthday. From the get go the staff went above and beyond to accommodate us, getting us a table outside, and acknowledged it was a family celebration and were very sweet towards my toddler. We were seen swiftly and checked up on often, always with a smile. The food was fantastic, and we didn't have to wait long for it either. The pub is lovely and the atmosphere in the garden was great, busy but not heaving, and the Olympics was on the big screen which was great in the background. Lots of cute dogs around too! I would whole heatedly recommend this pub and will be back very soon.

A bit of a contradiction here, however let me explain. The pub is very nice and the staff helpful....however, we went to see England vs Slovakia. The management/staff had no consideration whatsoever for safety or experience of being at the pub. It was impossible to get drinks, moving around was like being at a festival over-crowded and praying you won't need a wee. I doubt safety regarding number of people was respected at all. Clearly management is more concerned about making as much money as possible in a short time over safety of the pub goers. Complete shamble of management.

We had booked a table for a Sunday roast. On arrival, we were directed to a table in a dark corner of the bar area with no reservation sign as if they had just found a spare table to seat us, away from the restaurant. It took over an hour for the food to arrive and the ‘21 day matured beef’ was flavourless as were the vegetables. We had to ask for more gravy which again was bland and watery. Staff were walking past us when trying to ask where the accessible toilet was. Overall, disappointing considering the good reviews we had read.

Met a friend for late midweek drinks. Two malbecs, one L one M. Asked the barmaid if she could pour directly into the glasses as I always find the metal measures taint the wine. She couldn't as the wine glasses didn't have measures, so I said whatever ok. But then she took two additional glasses, poured m/l measures of water into them, and then used them as a guide on how to pour out the wine Perhaps I'm weird but i that was so incredibly thoughtful, rare to see that kind of initiative, even if minor. It's also just a pleasant place to meet a friend. Two thumbs up.

Food was great. Tasted beautiful. It just took over an hour to land on our table. When it did, one of them was the incorrect dish. When we were offered bread and olives to tie us over, that took 20 mins to come out - it eventually came out with our food. Bread and olives with bangers and mash is an interesting combo. My hypothesis is they over did the bookings and got greedy because the atmosphere was decent. When negotiating compensation for time wasted, the complimentary bread and olives were the only things offered as complimentary. I had to negotiate for one of the mains too. Of course, it was the cheapest main. I still think this is a nice pub for sure and I would recommend it. One more experience like this I will never go again.

We visited the Rose and Crown on Sunday 11th Feb after a lovely long walk from Richmond park to Wimbledon village via Wimbledon common. We had booked a table for 3.15pm but made better time than we thought we would so arrived a good 25 mins early. I asked if there was any way they could seat us early, fully expecting to be turned away until our allotted time, however the staff were brilliant, found us a table, and made us feel so welcome. The pub itself is rather large with three main areas, the pub/bar is at the front as you walk in, with many places to sit and drink, and watch the rugby if it's on. Behind that is the main dining area which is fairly large, and then beyond is the outdoor covered patio. The decor felt traditional and comfortable, but clean and well kept. We sat in the dining area, and whilst the place was full (including the bar with people watching the rugby) it didn't feel too noisy, and our group could easily chat without needing to shout at each other, which was great for me as I struggle to hear in crowds. The service was fast, but we didn't feel rushed, and we didn't have to wait too long after ordering for our drinks to arrive. The menu is brilliantly varied with something for everyone, but, it being a Sunday, we were all looking forward to the roasts. Three of us shared the duo of lamb, whilst one of us had the vegan roast, and we all shared the truffle cauliflower cheese and pigs in blankets (apart from the aforementioned veggie in our group). The waitress stated that the duo of lamb would be enough for a large dinner for two, however it was more than enough with three of us sharing plus some extras. We finished off with some coffee and desserts (I had the treacle tart which was amazing), and I have to say, all the food was amazing, could not fault a thing. It was also lovely to see the bar staff handing out bowls of water and treats for the pups as well. This is definitely a must visit for anyone wanting a country pub experience in the centre of town, will definitely be bringing our friends here again.
