So I’ve been going to Roosters for about 4 years now and I can say it’s getting progressively worse. It’s to the point now where I wouldn’t even go again in all honesty. When I first started going it was probably my favourite place to eat but I think they’ve changed their recipes and suppliers because last time I went it was horrible. The chicken was mushy almost, lack of seasoning it’s cooked with. I was guessing that I just had some bad pieces of chicken but my friend confirmed his was also pretty disgusting - to the point that he only ate about half of his meal. Fix up Roosters - I’m not coming again either way. You’ve destroyed yourselves !

The food is okay I just find the whole roosters experience a bad one, after a bad experience a year ago, (biting into a chicken wrap (im a vegetarian)) we didn’t order for a year, we finally started going back but it’s just bad all round, I noticed on the delivery note this evening we had been charged £2.50 for delivery, when we have never been charged before. I even went to order on the just eat website prior to ordering over the phone, and on the website it said delivery was free. This will be my last review as I won’t be ordering again, staff are rude and don’t care about customers; there are plenty of nicer places with a good customer experience I would rather buy from.

Food was nice but expensive. Wouldn't have minded as much if we'd eaten together. Initially got the wrong food, partners food came shortly after but then waited a further 20 mins for mine. Also we were left the chips from the incorrect order, when my food arrived there were no chips as I'd already had my portion - 20 mins earlier!! Customer service lacking!! ( there were two other customers in the building)

Four lads on a day out, hungry as hell. We ended up in Roosters Grill Shack, expecting a bog standard high street eatery. I ordered a double up beef and chicken burger, while my mates had a half chicken, tandoori chicken burger and a steak respectively. They were all impressed with their food. My burger was lovely.

Bought the piri piri chicken in pita bread with chips and got a free milkshake. The chips were amazing and one of the best milkshakes I’ve ever had which was great considering it was free for Valentine’s Day. Was very happy with everything and will be going here more often as this was my first time trying the food.

Lovely food ..visited Saturday 9th Feb..ordered large veg and haloumi wrap meal and chicken satay, Tender juicy chicken was lovely,I'm a big meat eater but this place does the best veggie wrap I've ever had !! Nice chunks of haloumi and grilled veg :) manager always friendly ..very skinny fries so get a nice crunch with spicy piri seasoning .. 10 /10 ! Keep up the good work:)

I popped in to get a quick dinner and ate in but was also taking food back to mates takeaway. The staff were super helpful in timing my takeaway food and making sure it wasn’t ready too early and also were friendly and helpful in general.

Well what can i say, i am disappointed. I live in London and have tried roosters peri peri and no matter which franchise you go to, the food quality is the same. I checked the website and it says basically they are roosters peri peri without the franchise name. I went there and ordered 2 meals. The service was exceptional but the food quality was poor. The burger bun is ridiculous, it was the biggest seeded bun i have ever seen. The chips were atrocious, it was as if they had been double fried in some left over oil. Onion rings were okay. The chicken itself lacked flavour and i have this odd taste in my mouth an hour later. The condiments really frustrated me, the cheapest and most disgusting ketchup and mayonnaise you can source is being used. I am really annoyed as its down to quality of the produce, the staff were brilliant. If staff do read this, please do not feel disheartened and this is not a negative review towards yourself.

I can't believe how little customer service this takeaway has! We ordered 4 meals for delivery but got wrong food. Fair enough mistakes happen but then to resend it back out with missing items!!! Really? So quickly eat what we do have, get the kids to bed and write an email to them. Their email address on their own website is wrong?!? So I called up, explained what had happened, 'uhhh what, can you repeat that?' no can I speak to a manager? Only to find out that he is too busy to talk to a customer? So he then has a conversation through one of the rudest call handlers I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. I eventually got offered a partial refund as a good will gesture and when I say that's not good enough. To my amazement the only reply was 'Its that or nothing' Then to be told because I had used just eat that I had to spend another 15 minutes on the phone to them to get my measly partial refund! Absolutely shocking. We had just restarted using Roosters again, safe to say we won't be any time soon.

My partner and I visited last night as I have a Meerkat Meals code and use it to try out new places as we have recently moved to the area. We were a bit skeptical at first as it was empty and it’s more of a takeaway than a sit down restaurant, but we thought we’d try it out anyway. And we were glad we did! My boyfriend ordered the Roosters Mixed Grill Platter and I ordered the Strips Platter. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food arrived in good time. The meat was cooked perfectly on the mixed grill and my chicken was cooked so well it was one of the best I’ve ever had! The only reason it’s not getting 5 stars is because they mixed up our sides and put mine on his plate and his on mine, but that’s the only negative I can think of. My boyfriend likes big portions and always feels that portion sizes in restaurants are too small, but he couldn’t finish his meal here and I couldn’t finish mine which is definitely a good sign! Would definitely visit again!

Arrived on time but my chips were colder than my drinks and my medium peri wrap was plain as the bag it came in , I love eating in roosters but will not order again

Very bad manager .. she didn't respect us or our Normal question about payment .. she said If u don't like you can leave !!!!!! This kind of managers must disappear .. now I understand the resone for the bad rating of the restaurant

If you live in Swindon and have not tried roosters grill shack yet then you should. A great alternative to Nandos plus it’s slightly cheaper , chicken is cooked perfectly and full of flavour. The peri chips are something special. Seasoned and cooked perfectly. The fatuous salad is one of my favourites, it makes eating salad tasty and not boring. I’d highly recommend roosters grill shack.

I have always loved Roosters. On this occasion (Friday 21st September) delivery was very quick, we sat down and tucked into our food, however after taking the first bite of my meat free wrap (as I don't eat meat) I discovered it was actually chicken!!! Okay so everybody makes mistakes but most people who are meat free would have kicked up a fuss more than I did. I called up and received an apology and the lady on the phone was helpful and apologetic and I was told a correct wrap would be sent out asap, which it was, great. However the reason I have given this review 2 star was because of the delivery driver, a lady who I found very rude, when she delivered the correct wrap she asked for the incorrect chicken wrap to be returned, it was cold and sat on a plate, I think she expected us to say we had eaten it and it couldn't be returned but as the packaging was all in the bin, she scooped it up into her bare hands and took it to her car, (maybe she ate it, who knows,) but I thought it was pretty disgusting to collect food being returned in your bare hands and even to expect it to be returned in the first place, it was as if she didn't believe us! If the lady on the phone had told us it needed to be returned it would have been fine and I would have had time to wrap it up, but it was abit unexpected I didn't have time to get the wrappers out of the bin to wrap it up. Pretty gross and uncalled for.

The food is really nice with flavour. The chicken is so nice! My kid loves the food here. I will came back. Just the local in city not very nice

Searched on Google for a halal place on the way home. A group if 11 adults and 3 small children. The place was very quite, thought we had made a mistake. The place clean and tidy, service and staff were brilliant. Most importantly the food was good.

So my husband and I have been ordering from Roosters for 3+ years and to be honest in the last 1 year and half they have slowly been declining.

Another great meal in Roosters with a few friends. Ordered the Gourmet Burger for a change and wasn't disappointed. Served quickly for their usual helpful staff, was a great meal and a lot ore filling than it looked. Would highly recommend trying if you've stuck to the traditional chicken so far.

Its really tricky now to find great fast food that isn't gluten free, but these guys have it sorted!

On a recent visit to Swindon, I rummaged through google for a “halal” dinning experience. Roosters appeared to have the strongest online presence and ten mins later I was walking in through the front door.

The piri piri wrap was good, but the price for a large wrap meal, which includes a can of Pepsi and some soggy sweet potato fries is appalling. No different to your standard fast food options elsewhere.

I'm a regularly customer to Roosters Grill Shack. I've never had a bad experience, always great food, good customer service and always a good place to sit.

Decided to give Roosters another go after a two year boycott. Guess what, Nothing has changed! Food arrived cold and under cooked! Very disappointed in my decision to go back. Have you guys actually had Tennessee chicken before? They out rank you 10 to 1. The so called HOT 1/2 chicken I received was so tasteless it competes with Justin Biebers music! The livers were cold together with the Prawn Satays. Come on guys when will you learn from your mistakes? Change of management needed?

I hadn't tried Per-Peri chicken until coming to Roosters GS, however was persuaded by a friend. This place really impressed me with the quality of the food. Their chicken wraps are cooked to perfection and well built. The Steak is my favourite, lightly seasoned and cooked just to the right level, it's a great treat.

food arrived cold ... called and was told to heat it up !!

I've been a regular customer with work guys at lunch times - it is local to my office. Went in today - ordered my usual (along with three other colleagues). 20 minutes pass, all have their food except for me. I take my receipt to the counter and ask whats happened - the assistant explains that my order had not gone to the kitchen guys so would do so now.

We were staying at the holiday inn and wondered in looking to grab a bite and I'm so glad we did.

Stumbled across Roosters Grill whilst in Swindon ..... The food is nice & freshly cooked ... It is a cross between a sit down restaurant & a takeaway .... Cheap and did the job at lunchtime .. Staff pleasant & helpful with directions ....

Placed a phone order for my family, guy told me there's no deals on so my order came to £52. Went in to collect and found out I got ripped off by atleast £10 and a whole chicken! Told the guy he failed to mention the deal on the phone to which he replied there's nothing he can do. Incompetent staff! Rip off! Should have gone to Tennesse Chicken instead.

Ordered wings (6) they're not full proper wings just half a wing, 6 small pieces, they're are priced equivalent to Nando's, (Nando's do full wings) ... on top of this they charge 75p per small pot of take away sauce but if you eat in it's free on the table! Where's the logic !!!

Being a lover of chicken I thought I would try roosters. I had a chicken wrap with medium sauce. Delicious. Succulent. My partner had the lamb chops. She loved them. I tried the ice cream. Wow I have never tasted ice cream like this before. Staff were very helpful and friendly. We will definitely return. Can't praise it enough.

What a terrible service!, ordered food rang an hour later to say it hadn't arrived to be told it wasn't even out for delivery yet and would be soon, an hour and 20 minutes- they had got busy and the driver had been delayed, an hour and 40 minutes called again to be told the driver should be with us imminently and eventually given 10% off the order, 2 hours later the food finally turned up with parts of the order missing and the rest was cold, staff on the phone didn't really seem bothered atall and we had spent over 50 pound with them so wasn't a cheap order! Rude and will definitely not be using again!

Good food , clean , quick service and good value for mone ,friendly staff. Obverously the prices are more expensive than alot of take aways but its so much better.food Isnt greesy, burger meat looks like real meat not ground up odd bits of meat like McDonald's. Worth the money

Loved the food here, burgers are succulent and chicken tasty along with the sweet potatoes fries. Vegetarian options are not too bad either. Downsides were no milkshakes or hot drinks available and the way you order and get served isn't great.

Everything was over cooked. Inedible onion rings over cooked sweet potato fries with skinny fries mixed in. I think it's better to order earlier in the day as it seems better quality then. However the mango smoothie was still delicious. Delivery was quick for takeaway.

If you would like to try a Peri Peri Chicken , you should visit rooster's which is walkable distance from holiday inn.You should try the lemon flavor which is really good . Also they do have lamb chops which is also very tasty. Apart from this they do serve burger , chips etc

We had lunch on Sat 9th.i had lamb chops with medium piri piri sauce. My partner had the chicken liver.with a side order of fries.Both meals were delicious and we're eaten with gusts.It was our first vist.Wont be our last.5 star service from very friendly staff. See you very soon.

Great for lunches and take away. Clean, friendly and fast food. Ideal for a quick lunch, gets very busy at lunchtime but it's worth the wait.

We very regularly visit this place we don't do spice so the lemon and herb is always a winner it's not greasy rubbish it's freshly cooked and tastes lovely !

I was told my takeaway would be here at 1.20 after ordering at 12.30. Instead my order arrived cold at 2.15 to find that I'd received the incorrect food. Spent £16 on a burger!!!!

Fantastic food and service would highly recommend to anyone. Catered for all people. will defiantly be going back with my family

Took an hour and 50 minutes for delivery as the driver said we didn't answer the door. This is ridiculous as the sofa is 2 ft away from it. He was clearly knocking on the wrong house. When it arrived, it was stone cold obviously and missing the Pepsi. The chicken had gone dry. When I rang to complain, they couldn't care less. I won't be using them again.

This place is great. I eat here at least once a week. I usual go for the meal deal consisting of a wrap, side and a drink.

Absolutely disgusted with the shocking customer service from roosters tonight... couldnt exchange mayo for bbq sauce in the burger because and i quote 'they don't do that any more'!! It's obviously too far past there intelligence to pick up a different sauce bottle! I was given a delivery time of up to an hour and 1hr20 it had still not arrived, rang up to cancel and i could hear the girl talking to the supervisor and his answer was 'thats fine as there a cash payment' not even bothered or questioning why you have lost a customer that orders from you all the time!!! I will never ever order from this place again!!!

Last time I ever order from roosters. There is always something missing or cold food and such a shame as when you eat in its good. But based on delivery it is a joke

This is so far one of the best piri piri chicken I have tasted. I thought I loved Nandos when I tried Roosters, it was so tasty, delicious, I couldn't help licking my fingers. The spices used are really unique. I could eat their food all day, I really wouldn't mind! writing this review is already making me hungry, yup! it is that good! Try it, only thing their portions are little pricey!

Myself and 6 colleagues ordered for delivery today. I ordered a portion of skinny fries WITH peri peri salt. When the order came, mine was missing. Having called back and said "we are missing some skinny fries WITH peri peri salt" they then took 40 minutes + to make the 5 minute drive from store to workplace and delivered a portion of chips WITHOUT peri peri salt.

Ordered a takeaway that turned up in less than 20 mins. The food was fantastic and the prices are very fair

This busy restaurant near to the station is in a great location and offers a great selection of food to eat in and takeaway at great prices.

Visited this place several times and I have to admit they do they best chicken wings in town, far better than KFC, Nando's or Tennessee. I only have chicken wings at this place so I can't comment about other food they do. Not a very big place more ideal for takeaway, and it's right in town centre. If you love your chicken I would recommend this place.

This is by far the best chicken in Swindon! Forget Nando's, TFC and any other brand you might think of - this is amazing!

I have been having a bad month with illness, not being up to cooking & shopping most days & wanting a healthier alternative to the traditional take away I have been ordering from Roosters frequently. The food is amazing, much better than Nandos, the service is superb super swift delivery, piping hot. My favourites from the fantastic menu are the large beef wrap with salad mayo, & cheese (can have halloumi cheese as well) the beef is really tender, the wrap is generous & filling & fresh (I may be addicted) the piri piri chicken wraps are lovely but be warned even the lemon & herb are hot, an alternative is the Lebanese wrap which is delicious. You can also order salad which I loved & hummus, the wedges are yummy with piri piri seasoning, they also have satay sticks beef & chicken, very generous sizes & delicious. My son adores the whole piri piri chickens & you can have a half & a quarter. I can quite honestly say I have ordered most days & the wrap is so filling you wont want to eat a thing for ages. It is fresh, not greasy & delicious. But if you want to be naughty (being ill I have their desserts are delightful, the cheesecake is a dream, lovely chocolate cake & apple pie. Thank you Roosters for stopping me from ordering Dominoes during my rough times :D

Decent food, decent price. Maybe not quite as tasty as a certain other Piri Piri franchise but possibly a bit more variety....and they deliver!!!!

This was my first visit. I was more than impressed with the service and the speed the food was cooked. Beautiful sweet potato fries, better than nandos wedges. I will be back.

Had a takeout from this wonderful place. Was super impressed with helpful staff and the cleanness of this place. Much better than Nando both in flavour and cost. I have been staying at the Holiday Inn round the corner for 3 days before finding this place, wished I had found it earlier as I had been dining on Subway!!! Well worth a visit, absolutely delicious. Thank you Rooster's, when I am back in Swindon I will be back for sure.

We have purchased and been very happy with our friday night food from Roosters, having had several over the past month or two. If they checked the payment details they would have seen that we are regulars and have never complained before, however, tonight the food was appaling, cold rubbery fries, the falafel burger had a weird after taste and all of it including other members food was stone cold. The corn on the cob had a great lump of seasoning on one side, the burger roll was sliced the wrong way and torn apart. We called to complain and were asked to take the food back???? That is another round trip in our car back into town! Instead of giving a reliable customer either a free meal or a refund they have completely lost us as customers there are 4 members of this family who buy the falafel burgers. never ever again will we go to Roosters. We explained that one of the burgers was in the bin and they told us to take it out of the bin and take it back. I find that insulting.. As we all have colds and have been up since 6 am this morning and working all day, we have no intention of taking food back. It is their responsibility for giving us such a terrible meal we could not eat and paid good money for. why should we pay for the petrol aswell to return the food? Terrible customer service.

well what can i say, in the past (before nandos) I had the pleasure of experiencing roosters and have loved the place ever since.

Travelling alone and this hit the spot. Really friendly staff, decent food and very cheap. Best Peri-Peri outside of the random one in Reading

The food is OK, some of the staff is really good however been let down on my most recent visit. We received a discount code of 5% off our next order with our last till receipt. I claimed my discount on this order but to my surprise the guy at the till refused to stamp the loyalty card. He said, I can only stamp the card OR give you a discount, not both. No where on the card or the till receipt it says anything like this. The guy was making rules on the go. On top of that he was rude and discourteous. I am more than happy to take my custom else where. It is not a question of 5% discount or a stamp. It is the way I was dealt as a customer.

I can't believe we have only just found out about Rooster's Grill Shack and all thanks to a menu posted through our door. We often treat ourselves to a takeaway at the weekend but as we are both following a clean eating plan it's often hard to remain good.

Take out falafel in pitta with chilli relish. Wonderful. The best choice for either falafel or halloumi in Swindon. If you sit in it's worth it - nicely served with garnish that you can actually eat. Like the slightly mad staff too....

So even though Roosters is under new management they are still pretty mint! Went all out and ordered £15 worth of chicken. Delivered in 45 minutes, still piping hot. Was all cooked well. Highly recommend for an alternative to Nandos!

We ate here on a Saturday afternoon after being completely uninspired by the ever present subway, McDonald's and coffee establishments.

It was this place or Nando's and as we were up against a deadline we could not afford to be delayed. So pleased we chose this place. Nice and clean, friendly staff and fantastic chicken. Only had a mixed platter as did not even have time to study the menu. Had a mix of hot and mild chicken, Lebanese chicken skewers and wings.

Usually visit roosters once a month on this occasion I wanted to use there loyalty card to claim my free chicken only to be told I can't do that, I have to first claim the free wrap, to be fair I felt as thou they were just making up rules up on the spot.

I went here with a couple of friends. As a vegetarian, I was not expecting a great experience, however I was surprised to find a rather tasty option. The milkshakes are delicious. Would go again for sure. Probably best suited to chicken lovers though! My only complaint was the air con was on so high it was freezing cold sitting down!

Ordered 16 take away meals from Swindon branch at 9.30 for delivery to work at 1.00pm as this was our lunch break. Delivery man arrived at 1.20 so little time left to eat it, but only half the order in the box. Driver said he was bringing the rest. Some people had received half their meal and some had received none. He then disappeared (we thought he'd gone out to his car) and arrived back at 1.35 with the rest after having returned to the restaurant to pick up the forgotten meals. The second part of the delivery was quite cold, people had hardly any time to eat it and some had to eat the two parts of heir meal at separate times. On phoning to complain, I was told that i was being transferred to the manager, but after some minutes of listening to a conversation in the background, was told he had "popped out". Apparently the supervisor was able to offer me a 25% discount on our next order (!!!!).. I explained that this might never happened and was assured that the manager would phone us back to discuss compensation. He never did. The manager had no interest in customer dissatisfaction, or even had the common courtesy to talk to us. A truly disgusting, annoying and totally unacceptable experience. 16 meals paid for, not one satisfactory meal received and a manager who couldn't care less.

When you have Roosters you realise just how overrated Nandos is. It's been consistently awesome for me every time! The people in there are so polite as well and genuinely seem happy to serve you.

Discovered this place whilst in the area for work and didn't want standard fast food while on lunch breaks so came here. Freshly cooked food to whatever requirement you wanted and you don't mind waiting ten minutes whilst its done, everything tastes fresh and healthy and amazing and you don't feel hungry after eating it either. Yes its a bit pricier than McDonalds or Subway but if you want a healthy alternative that tastes so much better then give this place a try, just gutted we don't have something like this down in Cornwall

Visited here on a short business trip to Swindon. The restaurant looks a little bit like a take-away with tables but it was clean and the seats spacious enough.The food came pretty quick and the chicken was ok if a little dry. I had the medium which still had a bit of bite. It was ok but there are better restaurants in the area so I will probably not come back here again but if you are looking for piri piri chicken and cannot find a Nndos this is not bad.

This is a hit and miss for me. Tepid is the food, although the chicken seems cooked but the cheese has not melted. Although it is all open, then menu over describes the food.

I've been to roosters many times now and its always been very good. The chicken burgers especially. I would say however that when we've ordered for delivery the food is sometimes only lukewarm, although that might just be because of the distance. And we got free cake once as well. Top restaurant.

There are not many takeaways I would eat at due to the healthiness of food - everything is with chips, deep fried or in a bun !

As a regular user we are continually let down by phoning and collecting our order, the food is good but the service terrible maybe because it is lunch time or maybe just need better staff. Will not be using again after yet another mess up on the order and no real apology as too busy to be even be interested, shame as they will be losing £25 per week custom every week.

I have had take away food from Roosters Swindon pretty much every Friday lunchtime since it opened!

I've been here probably more than 20 odd times, and every single visit I've loved. I first found out about Roosters after one of their colleagues was handing out reward cards. I get the beef wrap every time, and it's always around £8 for the meal. The whole chicken is delicious as the quarter it, which means there's less hassle cutting it up.

The rumour flying around my friends was that this little place on the corner down town was doing chicken that would give Nando's a run for its money... never, i said.

Tasty fresh chicken, quick service and friendly. They got the wrong seasoning on my chicken mind, which blew my face off so swapped some with the boyfriend. A healthier alternative to take away.

Good Food too. Order a sauce though. Interesting new concept for Swindon. Freshly squeezed Orange juice is a nice touch.

Have now had lunch here on 2 occasions, both of which was decent! Considering I paid £14 and then £16 for two meals I wasn't expecting the food to be outstanding, but I actually really enjoyed it! Love Nados and to be honest this is a good substatute.

Love this place! Have been twice! Great atmosphere for a chilled out meal and amazing value for money! Very tasty too. All in all an improvement on Nandos! Just a downer that more of these aren't around!

I had a lot of high hopes for this place, as I love Nando's and thought this would be similar, but it wasn't. The portions are small and not seasoned enough, I got the quarter chicken lemon and herb with chips and a smoothie. The chicken really was lemon and herb, but not seasoned enough, the chips were good, but the smoothie just tasted like those tin cans of baby food :/ My meal came to £6 roughly, but I was left starving at the end of it! The place is good, but as it is quite new there are still a lot to improve.

Tastier food, juicier chicken, bigger portions, friendly staff. Great offers and nice clean seating area. Slightly more relaxed atmosphere then Nando's, and less choice; but heaven for chicken lovers.

The food is tasty. However, last time I ate here, I was served chicken on my plate, and I'm vegetarian. When I informed the 'manager', who was also serving, he just said , and I quote, 'so? it's not like you ate it.' I then noticed I had not been served one of the drinks we'd ordered, so I asked for this, and he claimed I had to pay for it again because 'he didn't hear me.' I said I had ordered it, and he started arguing with me and was very rude. You'd think he was the customer and I was the staff! There was no concern for good service at all, not even an apology.

We come here at least once a month for a lovely bit of Roosters. Food is always excellent, my boyfriend prefers it to nandos!! Staff are always friendly. Service is always quick. I'm shocked that Roosters isn't in the top 5!! It's a must try!!

I have only had takeaway delivered, but it's the best in Swindon. Only thing to bear in mind us that it always takes one hour for delivery. Good value and very healthy. Just what Swindon needs! The steak is to die for.

Cracking little place. Loverly, fresh chicken as always, healthy and cracking service, quick and friendly.

Came for lunch with my hubby. Very quiet at 11.30 on bank holiday which was good for us cos it's normally busy during lunchtime. Staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly. Seats were comfortable. Our extra hot chicken dishes with chips and spicy rice were absolutely brilliant with reasonable price. We paid only 14 £ for our main, side, dip and smoothies. They served us food with napkins, straws, pepper, sult and wipes which was nice service. The restaurant is actually small but looks pretty modern and clean. Would definitely come back here again soon (Ofcourse during quiet period) ;-)

We searched around for a little bit in Swindon trying to find something cheap and cheerful to have a late lunch without resulting to fast food and then found this delightful little place almost hidden around the corner from the high street.

Very fresh food, kids loved it, much better than the fast food offerings in Swindon. It can be a little more expensive but it's cooked to order and the peri fries are great.
