Family dinner tonight with multiple suppers of various kinds.fish was decent albiet the portion of chips was pretty small and all but one of the family didn't enjoy them. Pretty expensive. We hadn't been for a while for those reasons.

Very good fish and chips! Would recommend to anyone.

Chicken very very overcooked couldn’t eat it.

Came in tonight to get my dinner and the new fryer was lovely, very chatty and the food was outstanding. Will be coming here.

Food was delivered early. Taste was not great. Fish tasted as if it had been lying, did not taste as fresh as usual. Chips did not taste fresh either. Too much vinegar and not enough salt. Struggled to eat the mini supper

First visit at the weekend. Considering the higher than average prices I wasn't bowled over by the quality. Fish batter was a bit chewy and the chips were fairly average. I also asked for no vinegar but vinegar was added by mistake. However, I had waited so long for my order (they seem to prioritise online orders over people in the shop) that I decided not to complain. It was perfectly edible but not sure I'd rush back.

Raw, pale batter, upset tummy all night. Was a great chippy at one time. Dont know what has happened. Terrible experience, never again.

Food was late but I can’t really fault that as I was surprised they delivered to our postcode, plus I know there are roadworks all around Bearsden which would slow delivery. The food was lovely and I would happily order from them again as very few takeaways do Gluten Free food 😊

Meal was absolutely terrible. Fish was scarce and batter was hard. Would not recommend really disappointed in the standard of the food.

Heaven forbid you ask for a black pudding supper twenty minutes before they close. It’s only what’s in the display I was told. A half pizza and sausages that look like they had been in all day. Shoddy way to treat customers in my opinion.

Went in to get chips cheese and curry sauce tonight at around 4:45 no chips available and had to wait around 20 minutes for them. After this I was then charged £9.35 for a “large” portion of chips cheese and curry sauce. Very disappointed in the portion size and cost. This used to be my go to chip shop in the area but won’t be back.

This used to be my goto chippy in Bearsden but it has really nosedived. The food is far too expensive and the quality is poor. Chip portions small and what’s up with the half cooked thick batter? I had stomach ache after my last visit Will not be going back which is a real shame Cmon Romys - what happened?

Gluten free battered half chicken and fish and chips were fantastic. Biiig portions! Delivery driver lovely too

Has always been delicious here. Portions aren't massive but perfect sized so there is no waste. Been eating here for over 30 years

Unfortunately food quality seems to depend on who's making it. Raw bater left fish inedible again. Have complained previously but same person seems to make it this way. Been coming to Romys for many years, but this was the last.

This food is excellent, plus the shop is well-regarded by our local family. Cultural warning: as an English speaker, I regretfully need to read the menu because, in three visits in six months, I have still not tuned into the local accent. Fortunately, "three fish and chip suppers please" produces the desired results.

So very grateful to have gluten free food delivered to my home. It's delicious too. An occasional treat to be savoured.

Really didn't like my fish last. It was breaded instead d battered. Chips were cold and soggy. Ask for salt and vinegar, no a drop of it. Tried to contact the restaurant to solve the problem but line was busy. Binned my supper last night. Really disappointed.

Ordered a portion of cheese at £2.10. Smallest portion arrived in a plastic tub. Cheese had melted in the tub which resulted in an even smaller portion. Raised with Just Eat who are not interested. Quality standards and portion sizes have dropped. Zero stars a total "Rip off" Go Elsewhere

Had Gluten Free fish and chips which was absolutely awesome,!

The mini battered haddock was indeed "Mini" It was the smallest portion of fish, which was also over cooked. For £8.05 I would expect a larger portion of fish. Disappointed

What happened here? Folk working there are very nice but the foods straight up not good which is a real shame as one of my favourites over the years. Two fish suppers with rubbery tough fish. From frozen perhaps? Hope they can resolve as it’s not a one time experience by the looks of it.

Been a long time since I had a Romy’s. Sad to say it was not great.

I’ve been a fairly frequent customer of this business, and tended to be impressed by its offering. However, the quality of the food has been diminishing of late and this evening my wife, son and I found ourselves attempting to digest some of the most unpalatable fish and batter we have ever encountered. Had it not been for the foul weather conditions, I would have taken the food back to the shop and sought a refund. As it is, I won’t be buying from Romy’s again.

Disappointed you’ve stopped doing you’re lovely fresh battered onion rings! As your so far away meaning the delivery price is expensive and sometimes the food is cold I only for the onion rings and ice cream! The food was much hotter than excepted this time tho and the delivery arrived about 10 minutes before the excepted time.

Ordered from just eat, food came caked in vinegar, the Box integrity was questionable at best the box was weak, the smell was so strong it was unbelievable. It stung my nose. I had stomach pain after eating so did my housemate. He was sick. The batter was soggy. On every meal. Was barely edible. End up binning most of it due to it being overwhelmingly inedible . None of us finished our meal. Barely ate half we tried to give it the benefit of the doubt. I've never had such a bad experience with a chippy. Unfortunate I'd heard good things aswell

My partner threw up half an hour after eating, all of our stuff was that caked in vinegar the boxes they came in had visible brown stains when most of the items have no vinegar marked on them. This place needs a health inspection.

Food arrived within less than 30 minutes...expecting to have to wait an hour when ordered. Food was delicious!!

The pakora was that tough I could not bite through it.

Been driving past this chippy for a while and wanted to try it out. Finally done it a few days ago and was really disappointed. It was EXPENSIVE... got two hamburger suppers and the hamburgers were probably the smallest I have ever seen. The chips were of a standard you would see at most chippies so fairly average but it cost £15.20. Sorry but that is insane. There are better chippies that do it better and I could have had 3 hamburger suppers for that price at the one in Milngavie. Can say I would recommend it.

We used to visit regularly but found the whole experience and atmosphere too stressful (just too much reality for a Friday night!) I really didn’t like how they treated their younger staff and large uber eats orders would take priority over the patrons waiting in line. We now visit another chippy (further away) in Anniesland.

Fries soggy, stone cold, and brown, not edible (expected a refund for these but only got half the money back and a whole meal was spoiled for one person!) nuggets cold but still edible and fritter and battered smoked sausage just warm when should have been hot. Thought order was all correct for once but then I realised there was no butter on the roll and I don’t have any left so my son couldn’t even have that instead of fries. Cold stuff kept separate but not in a bag, remembered my sauces this time and delivery instructions were followed but just eat wasn’t updated and 10 mins after I received it and possibly longer it was still just saying order complained, no complaints about it being early but defo expected everything to at least be as warm as the sausage.

One star for collection because I’d selected delivery, paid and then it confirmed the order for collection. Defeated the purpose of using Just Eat.

Great gluten free fish and chips they even have gluten free vinegar. They make it as you wait as can't be put in the heat cabinet with other food. It's good to know they take your requirements so seriously

Delivery was great! The order was excellent, but I wasn’t keen on the garlic mushrooms! I don’t know, maybe it’s my taste, but they seemed a bit tasteless, even with the dips.

The driver left with the order at 5:10pm and it arrived at 5:50. Batter was soggy and the batter was sticking to the 2nd piece of fish and coming off the fish. Meal was not piping hot, as their website states and they charge you £5.00 for delivey, with a statement.Fast Delivery Promise We have invested in more delivery drivers so that your delivery will be quicker than usual. I am waiting on my replacement meal. What a shame, that Romys have let their standards drop, because normally there deliveries are fast and the food would be piping hot with a crispy batter on the fish.

I thoroughly enjoyed my gluten free fish and chips. The fish was fresh and delicious and the batter was so crispy. There were plenty of lovely chips too. Will definitely order from here again.

Been a customer and a champion for many years but tonight the fish in the pish supper was burnt and inedible. Cmon Romys don’t do this! There are plenty of other good options for fast food in the area.

Been coming here for around 20 years but it's definitely going downhill quickly. Tonight's order was Special fish supper and Blackpudding supper. Chips were cold and Rubery, fish of really poor quality. Service very slow. Expensive for the quality. Real shame as it was always great. Will not use again.

This chipy use to be good 12 years ago. Recently the food has gone downhill big time. Bought fish supper and sausage supper thought give it 1 more try just awful full of just grease and no taste at all. Felt sick after eating it. The Chinese woman was rude to the other staff members and the 2 students I'm assuming didn't know much. Just the worst chippy to date. Avoid this chippy, surprised its still running

Ordered a few times from here before and my own and other's thoughts and reviews have always been of top quality food.......however.......tonight our chips were ROCK SOLID and from 4 meals ordered, all of the chips were binned. Very disappointed 😞

Chips were hard and not tasty. Tasted old, like had been sitting for long time. Couldn’t eat them. Very disappointed

The best fish and chips near me.

If you would sell chips at least cook them till they are actually finished rather than waving them past the oil and hoping it works like magic, i wouldnt have even minded about the fact it was so late if you had managed to cook them. Absolutely awful wont ever be ordering from here again

Very good quality fish & chips, probably the best this side of Glasgow. The fish is always perfectly cooked and the batter is always crispy and delicious. The chips are very easy to eat too, very moreish. It is obvious they are using the best quality ingredients available and they take care to prepare them properly. The staff are well presented and always smiling. This is a great chip shop.

As usual food was excellent chips are the best in the area would definitely recommend

Chips were very dry, felt like re heats. Fish a bit on dry side. It’s not the first time. Didn’t enjoy.

I ordered and paid for a 500ml bottle of Coke, but I received a 330 ml can of Coke instead. I did the driver know about this and he promised to raise it with the restaurant, but nobody called me back nor was I refunded for the coke.

Been using this place for a while now and past 2 I’ve had haven’t been great. Haggis tastes off don’t know if it’s a different supplier they are using but used to be lovely also hamburger had a funny taste. Everything else was spot on. Also says on the just eat app I qualified for ice cream after spending so much but when brought to the shops attention theyvssid it’s only certain days. Need to get this fixed

Some things were a bit cold and soggy, gluten free batter was different than usual and it wasn't nice. Actually the pizza & chips were the only things that were nice but there was no onion on the pizza.

Forgot tub of gravy & tartare sauce which were needed for fish & chips. You own me around £10 in things you've forgotten (5 sauces, 2 gf battered sausages & gravy)

The best fresh fish always ...not greasy and lovely crisp chips as well. Prefer to go and collect as it's not always the chip shops problem for late delivery .

This new owner of Romy’s is excellent clearly got everything under control. The delivery service was great everything I asked for made to perfection.

Shame the Colpis ice cream was half the size I expected because of the price and it turns out they inflated the price by £3 then £5 delivery

Well tonight wait for fish and chips the guy cooking the fish arrogant and very. Been going there for ten years his customer service his words were don’t care how long been coke here don’t care if you don’t come

If I could give negative stars I would. Ordered through Uber. Waited 55 minutes (15 minutes past the maximum wait). Contacted Romy's. Told they're busy and it would take another 20 minutes. I asked for compensation. The manager refused to offer any. Order cancelled. Not my first negative experience with Romy's/Rafaelles.

Always go here just as they open at 4 on Friday. Friendly welcoming owner. Food hot fresh and delicious. Portions are generous. Highly recommend. 👍🏻

Went into romy's for a sausage supper LIZA served me and she was soo accomodating and very pleasamt to me. Her smile is infectious.

New customer here and over joyed the quality of the food here is fantastic the delivery was very quick also I’m over the moon, now it’s wee bit pricier than the standard but don’t panic take a breath and remember ye get what u pay for in life, the Angel cut Japanese breaded battered haddock is absolutely scrumdiddleyumpshis( not used that word since a boy but appropriate) so I guess what I’m saying is highly recommend 😁 5⭐️

Horrible food! Chips undercooked, chicken nuggets burnt with no gravy on them which I asked for. Prices are ridiculous!!! Absolutely rotten

Fist time having Romy’s in three years, don’t think I’ll be back. Chips were barely cooked and barely edible despite waiting ten minutes for fish to be ready. Really disappointing for the money, especially as they used to be the best.

Went off chippy for about 2 years, always had soggy fish with white gunk under the batter no matter where I tried. A one off I thought ill try here since I saw Stevie G tried it. Went 2 nights in a row for a fish supper, unbelievable fish, best fish I have ever had in my life, used to enjoy McMonagles boat years ago but this blows it out water. Fish wasn't soggy and batter is immense, non of that white soggy stuff like you get with chicken balls and fish batter. So good and now the only chippy ill eat out driving all way up from Clydebank.

will no longer order from here. arrived 2 hours late and room temperature - no salt, no vinegar (even though we asked for extra of both). if you can get delivery from another then choose them. not worth the money, and its a consistent problem. other chippies deliver to bearsden from town with better speed and quality.

A disgrace. Have been using Romy's for years. Just not the same. Last order I placed the quality was poor. Thought we would use again but totally regret the nostalgia of the years of being a customer. An hour for delivery but approaching 2 hours later still nothing. This place is an utter shambles. Driver called in sick but no foresight to use my number which was requested to tell me. Just a real joke. WILL NEVER USE AGAIN!!! I eventually cancelled and much appreciated Pizza Enrico for delivering a great feast so quickly. Thanks again Pizza Enrico 👏👏👏
