Rocco's Trattoria in Mid Sussex

Attended a friends birthday at Roccos on Saturday night. Nice setting and a lovely welcome from the staff; cocktail menu was good, something to please everyone and appropriately priced. We preordered our food due to the size of the party and I must admit it took me a while to choose as it all sounded so tasty!! In the end I opted for the beef carpaccio as starter which was delicious followed by a pasta dish (paccheri ossolani) which was also very tasty. Would happily go back and try some other yummy options from the menu. Thanks for a fab evening.

Delicious Italian food, dog friendly and very welcoming! Much better than the chains and a good price tag. Cocktails are tasty too! Setting is lovely Art Deco vibes although really bright, maybe save some pennies and dim the lights!

We arrived on a Saturday evening without a reservation as we wanted somewhere quiet for a quick meal. The waitress was very welcoming and friendly. We had a pepperoni pizza and the mushroom ravioli, both with good flavours and tasty. Would definitely visit again. It would have been five stars but my first choices weren’t available.

Went there for a couple of drinks, service wasn’t great and was very quiet, not what you would expect for a Saturday evening!

Absolutely love coming here for cocktails. They are all delicious! Some could argue a bit pricey but I’d rather pay a bit more for a really good cocktail ! Staff are very attentive and helpful x

We were a group of friends out on a Saturday evening and were looking forward to trying this new Italian. Cannot fault the starters, the platters were delicious and the bread was lovely, arancini also fabulous. Unfortunately we could not say the same for all the main courses, a couple of us had the prawns/linguine - delicious, some had the spaghetti/ragu - very mixed opinions some loved it one couldn't eat it at all, and then my husband had the pizza and genuinely could not eat it and went hungry rather than have it. The pizza is a slice of what looks like focaccia, it is cold with cold meat and cold grated cheese and a pile of rocket that was so salty he couldn't eat that either. I would definitely suggest serving these 'pizza' at lunchtime as an open sandwich which is what they are in effect. And get a pizza oven, that's what people are expecting and had that been available there would have been no complaints from anyone. I do hope Rocco's is successful as we need independent restaurants that serve lovely food but change the pizzas. I have spoken to a few other friends who have been and they have all said the pizza was bad others have been put off trying because of what they have heard. I doubt I could get my husband to go back, which is a shame.

Fantastic meal, really good service (fast and very attentive). Best seafood pasta I’ve had for years. Pizza more like you’d get in Italy ( would prefer on plate not board). We will be going back very soon. Really pleased we have a good Italian restaurant in the area at last!

The food was good and everything we had was priced reasonably except the bottles Coca Cola were miniatures (200ml) and cost £3.50. An absurd price for a thimble full of coke !

This place has an identity crisis, the cocktail menu is as big as the food menu. I think they should concentrate on cocktails and a few platter options. It is definately not an Italian trattoria to bring the family- the childrens menu is not appropriate.

Favourite place to eat in Haywards Heath. The food is amazing (especially beef and chicken) and staff are super friendly! Yes, the pizza is slightly different here and may be better for lunch but there is no shortage of alternatives.

The service was indifferent I asked for a non alcoholic cocktail and was given one with alcohol in - which could’ve been a problem if I was allergic. Three of the house wines were not available We sat outside and there were several people smoking which is unpleasant when you are eating The food was mediocre and the vegetables were undercooked I will not return

We were pleased to get a place to sit as hadn’t booked. Friendly staff and good service. We had a couple of drinks and the pizza slices as a snack, delicious! Will be back to try the restaurant

Just outstanding. Wonderful fresh home cooked Italian food. Complex and in some cases brilliant original flavours and dishes. Way better than standard Italian restaurants- in so far as they tend to all offer the same to great or poor standard. Here we had dishes that reminded me of when I worked in Italy. The menu is limited and all the better for it given this is an informal venue. We’ll be back and bring friends.

We ventured out to Rocco's on a Friday afternoon. We were a small group but felt we deserve a business outing . We had delicious pizzas and entrees. The beer was great and the overall service and ambiance lovely. We will return.
