Small venue with not that many customers other than myself hence the service which was good . The breakfast that “pot of tea with one bag”came at an extra cost came in at £13 . Good ingredients with no vegetable roll, although came with a posh little bowl of mushrooms on the side! “Loose the mushrooms as really isn’t an Ulster fry is it?

Went for morning coffee. Cafe is quite small, only about 6 tables. Waited while server chatted with the only two other customers. There was no smile or word of welcome when she came towards us. Requested table by window where there was more light and said we were happy to wait while she cleared the table. She tried to get us to go to another table but we said we would wait. She did not engage with us and indeed she was surly in her manner. Menus were brought and when she returned we asked what scones were available. She said that there weren't many left as they had been busy earlier. It was only 11.15 am. and she told us in a very abrupt manner that if we wanted more we should go elsewhere. We were somewhat taken aback. Meanwhile, the chef who was visible in the kitchen, was scratching his head and yawning, without even covering his mouth ! It became very clear that we were not welcome as we were almost told to leave. We were totally shocked having never experienced anything like this before. We did leave and went to a nearby cafe where we were made very welcome and enjoyed lovely coffee and scones in a nice cheerful environment. I discovered that the person in question was in fact the proprietor ! Someone like this really does not deserve to be in business.

Annoyed we were charged £1.50 each for cup of water, when queried was told had to boil the kettle and bring to table! fry very basic with no beans , also no heating in cafe. We’ll stick to our usual favourite garden centre cafe , as much water as you could drink FREE

Mum and I love a wee coffee here - their German biscuits are the best. After recent surgery, I was delighted when mum ordered me a takeaway prawn open sandwich. It was truly delicious!

The Robin's Nest is a must on a visit to Donaghadee. The food is exceptional, presented so beautifully & tastes amazing. The service was second to none, the staff made you feel welcome & like you were one of their own. Scones were hot & delicious & 'Granny Janet's' shortbread was just the wee sugary treat needed to finish your cuppa of. Thank you Stephen & Jill.

Excellent breakfast here yesterday. I had an hour to spare, I ordered a small fry, it came piping hot and dry, not greasy at all. Staff were courteous and the place was spotless. I look forward to dining here again when in the area.

Been here so many times so thought I'd leave a review. Nicest place around to get something to eat. Friendly and personal service. A few years back they did a special Christmas dinner and it was one of the best meals I've ever eaten. Love the fries and sandwiches.

The owner of this place has an attitude problem. She asked my wife, her friend and my little (4yr old) grandchild to leave because she could not handle the pressure of a busy cafe. We had already had our meal and when we asked for some hot water she replied "Have you a proble? I,m not your slave!?? When we got a table I asked her to wipe it down as there was food on it. Her attitude was a bit abrupt and was not pleasant at all. Not a way to treat your customers, especially with a 4yr old child present. Spoke to three people in different shops and they all said both the owners were rude. Will not be back. Need more customer training or extra staff if they can't cope.

Have eaten lunch here on many an occasion, the food and service is always first class, will definitely be back - Jill and Stephen are just lovely and deserve all the positive results they get here on Trip Advisor, the only suggestion I have is, if you could possibly extend as you'd fill seats every time - good luck!

I've been eating at Robin's Nest for a few years now and every single time, without fail they have delivered the finest breakfasts I've had anywhere. I don't doubt they source their meat from a local butcher and that really makes the difference. I've not been for lunch yet but if it's anything like breakfast, I'm sure it'll be of a similar high standard.

Without fail one of the best breakfasts you can get!! The staff are amazing and the food is always top notch the only down side is that it’s so small and slightly too cluttered. I woop definitely recommend a visit to here you would be hard pressed to find a more reasonably priced and high quality breakfast. All of the meat is from a local butcher so you really are supporting local businesses.

What can I say about this coffee shop other than it's fantastic. Gill and Stephen who own the Robin's Nest are lovely people and are always up for a good chat. I can honestly say I haven't been to a place with better soup than the Robin's Nest. My mum and I would head weekly with my brother and sister on the odd occasion. I honestly have no idea what Stephen puts into the soup to make it so good haha! Honestly you could have any of the soup of the day options, because each soup is 5 star quality. I wouldn't pick another place to head for a family outing for Lunch !

We called in on a recommendation from as friend, the food was lovely, service was very quick, but unfortunately no coffee top ups, coffe cups are small and by the time your food comes the coffee is gone, better ordering tea as you get a pot. or leave the coffee until the food comes. one other slight criticism i would clear the front door of posters so as passing trade can see in. But its a really nice friendly spot. Would recommend it to anyone.

Tasty food served up by Stephen & Jill in this small café. (It is also a shop selling baby gifts, candles, scarves etc) The food is always delicious and the couple are very friendly. The eggs benedict is lovely - better than any hotel in my experience & not too rich.

I tell you lunch here is a revelation and such great value. You just gotta go. Looks like and is a nice boutique. But wait til you see the menu. Yes a wonderful fry or soup and bread are great but it's the list of specials prepared that are amazing .... You'll pay double in Belfast for a boring imitation in a fancy bistro. Go and I'm sure you'll review ...
