Great little restaurant with great pizzas

We live in Tavistock. We pre booked & arrived punctually. The service was really friendly. Food was flavoursome. Cocktails, brill.... Sadly, it was, "NONE OF THE ABOVE!" Having been shown our seat by the waitress, we just sat there twiddling our thumbs for over 15 minutes! There were 3 other occupied tables at time. One was sorting out bill. One had their starter. The third, had another round of drinks & main course. Did not hear restaurant phone ringing, for takeaways? Despite futile attempts to get waitress attention, ZERO! Spoke to the waitress & another female staff, on reception. They explained being 'overwhelmed? By what I asked? Told them our night was ruined! We were asked, did we want to order a takeaway, or some wine? No real or sincere explanation for staffs treatment (or lack off) towards us. Very unprofessional & upsetting evening. We left, extremely disappointed, by this family run business.... We emailed the restaurant direct, with feedback. No response after a week. Unsurprisingly, it says it all?

I loved the service from all waitresses and the pizza was amazing. I asked them for their names and they were Josh Bratt, Autumn matthew’s and Jenny Arnold.

I dont understand the positive reviews. Staff were nice. But the food is umderwhelming at best. Chips and side salad limp and soggy respectively. Both too small portion wise as well. Coleslaw dripping in way in too much mayo. Fishcakes were just about passable (deep friend unfortunately) but would have been improved with a fresh hollandaise sauce rather than tartare from a jar. Poor presentation on the plate overall. Premises in need of a complete redecoration. It all felt very, very tired. Maybe Im missing something?!

First time visiting Robertsons on a Monday at 1.30pm. It had a lovely relaxing atmosphere with pleasant background music. It felt chic and cosy. Situated just off Tavistock's main high street which reduces any noise from traffic. Food was very tasty and well presented. The waitress was very pleasant and efficient. In addition, the toilet facilities were clean. We will definitely be returning.

Fantastic place, we were attended by Paige and she is absolutely great! We had no idea where to go for dinner and found this place on the way and what a surprise, the pizza is out of this world. Same than desserts. Highly recommended!

From the warm welcome to paying the bill, the whole experience was so positive. I had THE best pizza I’ve ever had - the Antipasti with extra cheese, since you ask - accompanied by an excellent Malbec. And, so unusual for a small establishment these days, linen napkins not paper! I cannot recommend them highly enough.

My partner is Coeliac and she said this was one of the best Gluten free pizza's she's ever had, so good I had to double check with the staff the base was Gluten free, staff are super friendly, attentive and efficient. If your gluten intolerant, have no fears here

Lovely thin pizzas and some pasta and risotto alternatives. Family business with a casual and friendly atmosphere. They deliver too.

Hidden gem with delicious pizzas.

What a Tavistock gem. Such lovely food and great service. Nothing was too much. We had Hawaiian pizza and goats cheese salad (pictured) and sticky toffee pudding and carrot cake (pictured) I would thoroughly recommend.

Just excellent. Happened upon it in the lateafternoon when we were looking for coffee and we were so taken with the menu and ambience that we went back for dinner. The crab risotto was more crabby than any crab dish I've had, and my husband's crab fishcakes and fries were excellent too. Try it!

This was put first time ordering from here. Got a gluten free and normal pizza. The gluten free pizza base was the best I've ever had and the flavours were amazing.. definitely going back!

Me and my family went there. Unfortunately they were 'out of pizza dough'. The other dishes were pretty good, and the portion was medium sized. The food took around 30 minutes, but the staff were friendly and the atmosphere was nice. Good experience, but I don't think I'm coming back.

We came here for our evening meal on a get away. the pizza and chips were lovely. The doughballs were undercooked and wasnt served with garlic butter, it was just normal butter. The staff wernt the most welcoming, and was a tad overpriced.

This was a five star visit, but Tripadvisor would only let me give four stars. We enjoyed a delicious dinner in a lovely atmosphere. The staff were so helpful and friendly. We started with delicious Hummus, followed by crab risotto, linguine and meatballs and delicious drinks. The atmosphere was relaxing and cozy. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. I would highly recommend this restaurant while you were visiting Tavistock.

I don’t leave many reviews but felt I had to with Robertson’s. An absolute Gem of a place and about the only place in Tavistock we’ll get a takeaway from going forward. Food was delicious and the lady who served me was very pleasant.

A fabulous find! Tucked away down a side street, comfortable seating and very friendly staff! Lots of fantastic choices for vegetarians! We will definitely return!!

A lovely restaurant, staff were friendly and really helpful with dietary requirements. Pizzas are definitely their main selling point but we had the Kentucky board and burrito. I thought prices were somewhat high, £16 get like a lot for a burrito but it was honestly one of the best I've had! The burrito portion was huge, the Kentucky board was nice but cared in size and there was no veg with it. We went on a Saturday afternoon so it was busy and service was sow, if you're in a rush, this probably isn't the place for you. If you want good food, a bit of an atmosphere and polite staff then maybe give it a go!

Delighted to know Robinsons deliver to the Mill Hill area. Service was great, food delicious. Will definitely be ordering again. Very reasonably priced given the organic ingredients and environmentally friendly packaging. From previous visits the atmosphere gets a 5⭐️

Lovely little authentic Italian place. Really warm welcome, amazing food and wonderful ambience. 100% would recommend. My very spoilt kids have eaten pizza all over the world and say that this little place in Tavistock is up there with the best! Def give it a try. We’ll be back x

Delicious Pizza with some unique pizza topping combos as well as some of the usual ones. Chilled and very relaxed place and great for a later lunch as they were open until 3.00.

Always good quality and very personal service

Several mistakes with our order pizza good but pasta dish was warmed up in microwave and stodgy. Dessert that came either ice cream came without ice cream. White wine served off shelf rather that chilled but this was corrected all in all disappointing

Really welcoming, great range of fresh and appealing food from a not overly complicated menu - we had pizza, burritos and crab risotto, which were all absolutely delicious along with the accompaniments of seasoned fries, salads etc. We were on holiday an on a budget, but it felt like a lovely treat as the food was fab and loved the funky colourful decor too.

This tidy pizzaria is set a little way of the main shopping street. The lunchtimes are from the blackboard or an a la carte menu with seating and table service. In the evening it morphs into the pizzaria, doing home deliveries.

My husband and I enjoyed the best pizza's we've ever had at this lovely restaurant. Normally I only eat about half a pizza but not on this occasion I ate it all it was so tasty. I had the cajun chicken pizza & my husband loved the meat feast one. All the staff were very pleasant and friendly. It will be our first port of call next time we are in Tavistock. Thank you..

Best restaurant and best pizza in my opinion.

Robertsons is probably my favourite restaurant in Tavistock. The pasta and pizza are scrumptious! I like the music being played to make the atmosphere feel cozy and the benches you sit on are nice as well. I recommend going here if you live close enough.

We returned to Robertsons after a previous visit 3 yrs ago , remembering how good it was we were keen to return. The decor had changed and is very nice , comfortable and colourful. Service was great , very friendly and helpful. We ordered a Mediterranean pizza and a meat feast pizza along with a side salad , everything was delicious, nice crispy base on the pizzas and plenty of toppings, we cleared our plates and will definitely be back !

My husband and I have been regularly coming back here since 2021 💛 Super yummy food and always really good service. 10/10 a must try in Tavistock!

This restaurant grossly undersells itself, my wife and I visited for an evening meal, we were warmly welcomed and shown to our table. We chose the mezze and crab risotto, absolutely stunning food beautiful served. Highly recommend trying this restaurant.

Food and ambience good but service appalling! We waited over 25 minutes after main course and still no sign of any waiting staff. We gave up on ordering desserts and went up to pay at bar where there were 3 members of staff!

Fantastic food, relaxed atmosphere and very friendly staff. Shared starter of chicken and chips was good and pizzas were amazing! Waitresses were very friendly, especially considering they were so busy.

I absolutely LOVE Robertson's. I stay in Tavistock every six weeks or so for work and it is the most perfectly relaxed place to eat. The welcome is always warm and the food is always exceptional. Thank you Robertson's!

Our visit was an early Tuesday evening in mid March and there was only one other newly seated table when we arrived. Over the next hour or so half a dozen other tables were occupied. The waiting staff were friendly and helpful, and we felt the place had a really pleasant relaxed atmosphere. We both had pizzas (gluten free base for me - the reason we chose to eat here), and they were excellent. My partner also enjoyed a dessert though the gf dessert option for me was limited. This was our first visit here, we have stayed in Tavistock a few times now, and will certainly come back here next time we stay.

We are visiting the area for the first time. After 7 hours of driving we decided to get a delivery dinner. Robertson's staff went above and beyond for us, we were just outside the official delivery zone but they kindly made an exception. Delicious food - greek salads, macaroni cheese and a pizza. Very good quality and prices. Highly recommended. Huge thank you!

A group of my friends and I were visiting devon and stumbled across this hidden gem in the lovely town of Tavistock. We had a lovely evening in Robertosons restaurant there was a lovely ambience in the restaurant, and their seating area was lovely. As for the food AMAZING!! I'm a vegetarian so it was lovely to find somewhere that has a lovely variety of options to choose from. I had the antipasto pizza and shared the Mexican bean nachos to start with and they were delicious, full of flavour and very filling. Thank you for a lovely evening :)

We were searching for something slightly different from a pub for lunch and happened upon this place. The young ladies working there were charming and friendly, our meals excellent, the place was spotless and good music and the chilie oil was spicy!

Used Robertson’s for a takeaway yesterday evening. Not a huge order, just 5 pizzas and x2 wedges. Put the order in at 6.13pm as it had taken so long last time to arrive. We were told the wait was 1hr and 15 minutes for delivery, which was just about fine. The food finally arrived just after 8pm, luke warm, and floppy, undercooked chips instead of wedges, which we couldn’t eat. The owner of the restaurant half-heartedly apologised and said they would call the following day to sort something out for us as we are local and have experienced these very long delivery waits on a couple of occasions before. I explained I would not have minded being told when I ordered that it would be a 2 hour wait as I could have decided to collect the order or go elsewhere, I just didn’t like the initial lie. I tried to calmly make the point that had I known the true time up front there would have been no disappointment, but I felt like it was falling on deaf ears. The deputy manager did indeed call me the following day and her answer to “sorting something out for us” was to advise us not to order from Robertson’s again as they couldn’t guarantee that they same thing wouldn’t happen. I was absolutely staggered!!! What a novel way to run a business!! Rather than trying to work out a solution (perhaps over estimate rather than under estimate the delivery time? Or take a maximum number of orders per hour?), the owners have decided it’s easier to just rid themselves of a customer. A local family with 3 teenagers (who love pizza more than anything ). I accept things go wrong in any customer based industry and I always like to judge any establishment on how they treat their customers when something does go wrong. In this instance the customer service we received both last night and again today was appalling, so that is my basis for a poor review, along with the mediocre food we received. They simply did not seem to care, which is sad, but perhaps they feel they can afford not to. A dangerous strategy in a small town, but good luck to them nevertheless!

Lovely food, fantastic service, good value. Had been running around trying to find somewhere to eat in Tavistock with not much luck. After being turned down by one venue seemingly at the sound that one of our party had a peanut allergy and then finding others booked up we stumbled across Robertson’s and all i can say is ‘what a fantastic bit of luck we did’. The owner/manager was extremely friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. The food was absolutely delicious, from the wraps to the pizza, the desserts to the coffee, - it was all lovely. The manager checked all the desserts for us and showed us which were safe for the allergy sufferer. All in all, it was a lovely meal and we shall no doubt be visiting again. Highly recommended.

We were on holiday camping in Tavistock and on my daughters birthday we went to Robertson’s. We had a lovely meal.The staff were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is in a nice location in the town centre. The food was superb. The kids and adults loved it. Very nice pizzas.

We had been given good recommendations from daughters who enjoyed pizzas while seated in Robertsons Restaurant a few weeks before we ordered (online), for the first time, two "Specials" from their takeaway menu of evening meals, for delivery to our address nearby in Tavistock. It was a considerable disappointment! I complained immediately on their website's Contact page but have had no response from the restaurant.Although the food was delivered promptly at 6pm, the two lidded cartons contained slightly warm ingredients with tasteless meat balls (barely edible) and congealed tomato sauce that proved impossible to mix with or flavour the linguini. We were unable to try more than a couple of mouthfuls each before disposing of the rest down the kitchen Sinkerator!
