Only popped for a couple of drinks but a great find in Hale!

What a lovely local gem of a place this is. We were hosted by the charming Simon. I had the Eggs Florentine. Just gorgeous pillows with bright orange melting yolks on fluffy muffins. To top it off lush hollandaise and plenty of it.

We had a lovely meal with our family and a couple of friends. The owner and the staff were all really friendly and provided a great service. Everyone enjoyed their meals too. I will definitely be going back again!

Great quality food for a more upscale version of a British lunch. The scallops were outstanding so was the T bone steak in particular as cooked to perfection, but was all great. Lovely restaurant in Hale village and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent Sunday Roast , best I’ve had in a long while! My partner and I both had the roast beef option which was done beautifully. The accompanying greens were just perfect as was the cauliflower cheese! Lovely personal service by Simon ! I hadn’t been in all summer and had forgotten how lovely it is here❤️

We had a Wonderful experience at Riva last Friday night. We enjoyed some Beautiful Wines & a fab dinner and the Team were great. We went for a selection of nibbles for our starters, Halloumi Fries with chilli jam, rustic bread with olive oil & balsamic & olives and hummus and they were all great. I chose the Pan Roast French Trim Chicken with greens, fondant potato & red wine jus. The Chicken was beautiful and moist, the fondant potato was probably the best I have had, crispy on the outer & fluffy in the middle and I could have drank the red wine jus it was that tasty! Mrs K had Roasted squash & wild mushroom strudle & thoroughly enjoyed it. Our friends had the 8oz Riva Burger and loved it although it is quite a size and the Hake which was on the specials board and again beautifully cooked by the Head Chef Daniel. The wine list is extensive but after chatting with Simon we ordered Baron de Baussac Viognier and Languedoc-Roussilon and they were divine. I know when you go to a Restaurant you expect great food which we certainly received but I have to say that the service and whole experience was fantastic. The Team were very attentive but also warm and friendly and their care factor was exemplary. It's great to support a local Business but it is made an awful lot easier when you have such an amazing experience. We will certainly be back!

We booked this restaurant for my partners Birthday & really enjoyed the food & service! We started off with a drink called Blond Minx & it was delicious! The Beef wellington was cooked amazing & we enjoyed the sticky toffee pudding together. Very happy with our meal & will return , thank you - Meghan

Another excellent meal at Riva. Although my sons steak had to be re-cooked our table of six still had a fab night. The staff are always happy and attentive.

I'm so glad I booked this place for me and my partner. We'll definitely be going again. We went on Saturday at 6pm and booked a dog-friendly table at the front. The decor is lovely, the place is clean and inviting and perfect temperature. I had the beef wellington and my partner had a special of ribeye and eggs with chips. The meat inside the wellington was the most beautiful soft meat I've ever had and my boyfriend said his steak was really nice, it had a smoky flavour. My starter of lamb croquettes was also really nice. Service was wonderful and attentive without being overbearing and everything came out at perfect times. I'd give it 100/10 if I could.

We have been a patron of this lovely restaurant for 10!years. Our prelude go to before we flew off on our holidays. This time we were left disappointed with the disregard and disrespect of our experience. This was from one incident, the food and bar/waiting staff are amazing. However whilst we were enjoying our amazing starter a staff member stood between our romantic interlude, to take a photograph of a large table below us ‘ you don’t mind do you’ , his sweating head was not what we would have chosen as an accompaniment to our dish. We were astounded and disappointed for the complete disregard. We left our feedback not seeking any compensation but the assistant/general manager needs to ask Santa for a belt as the sight of him hoisting his trousers up when he delivered our desert was not a pretty professional sight to see

Eaten there a lot lately and the food is absolutely superb think maybe they have a new chef. We had a party upstairs in the private dining room on Sunday and everyone remarked that it was the best food they’d had in a restaurant for a long time. Cannot recommed Riva highly enough and looking forward to eating there again soon 🙌🏻

The best food in Hale. This is the second time I have visited Riva and I was just as impressed the second time, if not more impressed! We went last night (Thursday evening) and they had a singer on who was unbelievable! The food was amazing, our party opted for the snack board to start followed by beef Wellington, steak pie, fish and chips and the fillet steak and everyone said the food was 10/10. We were served by a lovely gentlemen who I assume was the owner.. whose service was incredible. If you want something different from the many Italians or Indians in Hale and want some real quality food, go to Riva!!

I’ve eaten here about 6 times. Different times and days and always been very satisfied. Great food and service. Restaurant standards at slightly above pub prices. 10% optional service charge added to the bill. I’d doubt if anyone asked for it to be removed. When it’s this good I’m happy to pay.

Nice that Riva is dog friendly. I have eaten there before but the Sunday lunch wasn't as good as last time. It was very busy, very noisy and service was slow, the standard of food wasn't at its best. Not ready to rush back.

Great to see this place back open. Visited today for dinner and drinks. First time dining, usually just visit for drinks but thought we would get dinner to support this amazing local place. We was not disappointed at all. We had all three courses, which were amazing with great service. We will definitely be back!

This is the best restaurant in Hale. Soon as you walk in you feel so welcomed. Staff so nice can't do enough. Food always excellent.

Nice bar, live music and friendly staff. What more can you ask for?!

The food was very good but took 45 mins to serve even though hardly anyone eating. Music far too loud and not suitable for elderly. I was too focused on the loud music to enjoy the meal. Parents have hearing aids which the noise was making worse as he has a handset to operate hearing aids. Quieter relaxing music would be far better at lunchtime keep the noise for evening

We booked in for lunch Friday afternoon, been here a few times. The food was gorgeous, and the owners who were serving are just natural lovely people. A great experience. A great unpretentious spot.

I want to give this a poor review... but only so I can get in, all I will say is you NEED to book. The food is better in my opinion than a certain Michelin starred restraunt in Langho.

Called in on a Sunday as the restaurant we had booked fir my partner.s birthday was closed and their website was still taking bookings! Riva fitted us in even though they were full and they had a large party of guests. Excellent service . Best Sunday lunch we have had for years obviously a chef who knows about food. Nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommended we will return!

We celebrated my sister's special birthday at Riva's last Saturday the 10th September, in their 'secret room'. The staff were so brilliantly organised having supplied a menu a week before so we could choose our meals and eat within 15 mins of sitting down. Liz who looked after us was amazing with her efficiency and the food was extremely delicious!!

Excellent service, fun, relaxed, honest staff! Attention to detail and incredibly efficient service! The food was on point, my staff and I loved our weekly team lunch here! We will definitely be regulars!

Really disappointed I’m writing this, given all the great reviews! Riva is a nice place, but the food really disappointing. I’m comparing this to all the places I’ve eaten across manchester, and I’ve eaten out a lot! I’ve eaten here once before and it was nice. I ordered a lamb Sunday roast and the lamb was fatty, wasn’t pink as requested, Yorkshire pudding was overcooked and burnt around the edges. The rest was just ok. Very far from a good Sunday roast. My wife’s tuna Nicoise… tuna came pink although she requested it well done (I know who eats tuna well done?). The tuna was too salty and the broccoli side we ordered was overcooked. Sorry Riva either customers are too easily please or you got to up your game! Otherwise great atmosphere and drinks.

Great experience, excellent staff, especially Rex and Simon (our waitress was great too, just didn't catch her name unfortunately), and, of course, quality food. We visited for an early Sunday lunch during the May bank holiday, 2 excellent fish courses and wine over a leisurely 90 minutes. Perfect.

Food was absolutely stunning. We had the Duck confit and Beef Wellington for our mains and we also had the seafood platter for starters. Lucky to dine in quite a few places but this place is a must.

Food was amazing. Staff were really kind. Sunday Roast was absolutely brilliant. Lovely Succulent chicken, potatoes were crispy, vegetables were soft and full of flavour and gravy was hot and delicious. This restaurant does allow dogs, inside and out, which is great. Please come here as you will have a great time!

First class service - First class meal - First class atmosphere. I popped in (on a weekday) for lunch. I will be returning on a regular basis. I opted for the steak pie - splendid quantity and quality. There is an attractive bar area serving draught beers - including draught Guinness. The restaurant attracts a wide ranging clientele - ladies do lunch, local business people and the local gentry - who think that dining there is quite elementary! All visitors get a warm welcome from truly professional and hard working staff. Excellent value. Be warned - once you have visited - you will be returning again and again.

We would highly recommend Riva Hale, I have eaten a few times here now and the food has always been amazing. The staff have always been very welcoming and always service with a smile. We ate (and drank) at Riva on Friday. The food was great. The bar and restaurant are comfotable and welcoming. All the staff, without exception were lovely. I might have liked my kidenys to be a little bit more devilled but suspect I'm odd with this. The rabbit was superb - I wish I could cook rabbit like this. We were a party of 8 and had a lovely time. Our waitress was fantastic.

Riva is a favourite of ours even though we don't get to go often. The food is always top notch, the staff are so friendly and attentive and the overall vibe of the place is great!

Food and service good but the music was very loud and intrusive. A bit of low background music's OK, but this was too loud.
