Rigo' in Hammersmith and Fulham

Mi novio y yo fuimos a casa de Rigo el viernes por la noche para cenar, la segunda vez que estuvimos aquí y el segundo éxito perfecto: elegimos la opción de 4 platos y todo fue simplemente delicioso. Los platos también fueron muy creativos y bien presentados: calidad de estrella Michelin. Pedimos una recomendación de vino y tuvimos la oportunidad de probar un vino que nunca habíamos probado, que resultó ser un buen partido tanto para la carne roja que mi novio pidió como para el pescado que obtuve: no solo el chef era excelente, sino también el sommelier también fue excelente. Es una pena que ahora se esté cerrando por un par de meses para mudarse a Mayfair, ¡pero seguro que volveremos una vez que abran en la nueva ubicación!

Gonzalo es un hombre que ha estado viviendo en 14 países diferentes. Mitad italiano mitad español, formado en Francia, en Corea (en técnicas de fermentación), en Osaka, en Shanghai. . . Trajo todo de vuelta y condensó este conocimiento, con su sencillez, en su cocina. Y los platos te lo cuentan todo, un mundo de gustos. Simplemente divino

Bien pensado, creativo, platos muy bien presentados. Uso inteligente de ingredientes frescos en un menú que proviene de diferentes tradiciones, pero está fuertemente influenciado por Italia y Piemonte. Bien curada lista de vinos también. He estado en este lugar dos veces y sin duda volveré. Está a la par con muchos otros restaurantes con una estrella Michelín.

I always want local restaurants to succeed, especially those that offer something different and Rigo is definitely in that category. The place itself looks nice while the staff were generally very good (and certainly knowledgeable). However the food is the most important element and here Rigo was very hit and miss. The tomato tarte, a tweak on the Italian classic starter, lacked flavour which is odd because the classic dish has great flavour. The bone marrow had a very mild roasted flavour but it was the broth that finally brought some great flavour. The spaghetti is rightly lauded - it was magnificent. I didn't understand the oyster that came with the pork - it was too salty and the dish was better without it. And finally the porcini brulee - if you don't get a bit of every element of the dish (and its easy to miss something), the flavour isn't balanced. If you do get it right, the flavour is fabulous. Really good places aren't so hit and miss, so for me the experience is an average. I might revised in the future but sadly I won't be rushing back in the near future.

Tasting menu (5-point scale) Snacks 4 (macaroon is the best) Sea urchin 3 (anchovies extract adds too much salt) Tomato tart 3 ( very plain) Bone marrow 4 ( good execution but it’s not a finished painting for me) Spaghettoni dei Fiori 5 (simple dishes can be very tasty if the ingredients and execution are good. It’s one of those dish. Light dish though it contains Mont Blanc cream. Pluma of Cinta senese 5+ (absolutely amazing. One of the best meat dishes. Would come again just for it) Porcini brules 3 (too sweet for my taste)

My husband and I had a date night dinner at Rigo, the menu was pitched really well, we both found it hard to choose. We went for al a carte not the tasting menu and this restaurant is the best kept secret in London. Amazing, nicely challenging intriging flavours. The decor is a little bit dated for my taste, even though they are going for modern a nice white table cloth and candle would improve that? Staff and chef were so enthusiastic, kind, fun and their attention to detail faultless. We would definitely like a return match.

My partner brought me here for a special evening because he knows I like Italian cuisine. The place is elegant and intimate and it was a pleasure discovering the staff was Italians too. I enjoyed the food and the creativity from the Chef Gonzalo, that I had the pleasure to meet. Is a fine dining but it worth if you want to experience something special.

This was our second visit but this time we took some discerning friends. We were not disappointed. The food was superb; so imaginative, every ingredient selected and prepared with love, beautiful taste combinations and served with passion. It’s so infectious when the whole team are passionate about what they do. We all loved it. Our friend wanted a pasta course, over and above the really fantastic value 4 courses. The most delicious, simple, buttery pasta arrived. I can take or leave pasta - this was stunningly simple and delicious. We want to keep this place our local secret but also want it to a tremendous success that we found!! I guess we can’t have it all to ourselves. And by the looks and comments by the other diners, how long before this is really on the foody map?! Don’t miss it! Oh and cocktails at Koji beforehand made for a fantastic night!

We frequent many creative and off the wall places all around the world, but RIGO was exceptional in many ways both good and bad. The menu which favors a prix fixe concept with some limited individual items was confusing, but with with the kind help of the very caring server,we managed to order. The food by the very passionate chef was creative and quite good but not great. We like unusual creative combinations but the chef's palette did not ring our bell. In our estimation there is less to rave about than some reviewers say, but tastes vary. I ordered the second most expensive red wine and it came much warmer than cellar temperature. Despite there being a nearby wine cooler ours came from the kitchen area and it was highly raisonated wityh brownish eddging. I very rarely send wine back but reluctantly did. There was no problem doing from the waiter. I chose another less distinguished mid priced wine which was a least drinkable. The room's atmosphere is simple and non distracting being rather small. It is OK as in a "neighborhood find" category. Everyone at RIGO was extremely nice and accommodating. We wish them well but it was a long-ish ride from Mayfair and we are not intending to go back.

From the delectable food, to the wonderful service, and finally to the welcoming and passionate chef. This restaurant is an absolute diamond. Being local to the area, we have visited this restaurant quite a few times, but I would travel far and wide for Gonzalo’s food artistry, not to mention his hand-picked rare cheeses. Every dish is formulated to perfection, taking into consideration taste, textures, presentation, everything and anything you can think of! I really can’t rate this chef and his food highly enough, grab a table quickly whilst you still can!

What an absolute treat, I don’t know how I haven’t visited Rigo before despite living locally! Every dish from start to finish is an explosion in your mouth and the presentation a feast for the eyes. The format is set menu style with a variety of options for both veg and non-veg. Lending to the atmosphere are the staff who are equally passionate about service and the food. A visit to Rigo is not to be missed!

Excellent service, they even made us a table in the garden which they have never done before. The food was fun, packed full of flavour and reasonably priced. Fulham needs more places like this.
