The Capri is no more, replaced by a very nice little Italian restaurant that has a children's play area at one end of the room. Food and service was good. Just been open a week.

Gran servicio, excelente comida.

Took a punt when I saw the sign off the main road. So glad that I ventured in. Relaxed atmosphere and a lovely, unobtrusive greeting. The wine I selected wasn't available, however a fantastic alternative arrived. Menu looks plain at first site however both courses I ordered were bursting with flavour. Highly recommended :)

I've been two times, and my family from London visits regularly as well. The food is homey and tasty, good portions. What I mostly like about it is the genuine lovely service that makes all the difference. Do visit when in Hammersmith.

Cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough, especially if you are looking for a pre-show meal in Hammersmith. The outside of this restaurant doesn’t look like much and the interior is dated and will not be to everyone’s taste, but the food and service were excellent.I visited on a Friday in December at 6pm, with my mother and partner. Initially there were only two other customers in the restaurant, but it soon filled up. The waitress who greeted us was friendly and helpful, and for the rest of the evening we were served by herself and a lady whom I assume was the owner.Service was friendly and efficient. There is a good selection of Italian staple dishes available but it is not an exhaustive menu with dozens of dishes. If I remember correctly, the menu categories were; starters, pizzas, pasta, grills and dessert. If you are looking for traditional Italian dishes, then Capri is for you. It may not suit your tastes if you are looking for a modern Italian dining experience. All three in my party had pasta dishes, which were very reasonably priced for a good sized portion, and everyone was very happy with their meal. We didn’t have time for starters or dessert so I can’t comment on those. This presumably family-run restaurant is quite a find amongst the many chain restaurants in Hammersmith and felt very welcoming. As it was close to Christmas, when we were leaving the owner handed both me and my mother a small Panettone each as a gift. This was a wonderful and unexpected end to a great meal. We will definitely be returning to Capri next time we are in Hammersmith.

A charming rustic place that was recommended to me by a friend whose family have been regulars for many years. Fresh white tablecloths, full set cover, a basket of bread and olives. Lovely service, one that makes you feel very welcome without interrupting or rushing (priceless in London). portions are considerable and varied. The food very simple and tasty. Tiramisu gorgeous. The only thing that didn't win me over was wine, next time I will make sure to check the wine list or choose by myself.Places like this one should be cherished while they still manage to resist the competition of "Italian-style" chain restaurant. That was an extremely enjoyable dinner I have had in a long time.

Located in a side street in Hammersmith, this traditional Italian restaurant serves wonderful Italian food at very reasonable prices. Excellent old world service with a smile, the decor has great character and seems like a family run establishment. Very much like the eateries on the Amalfi coast of Italy, the portions are generous, the wine is superb and the waiter was the epitome of hospitality. Would eat there again and do recommend it as a great restaurant much different than the fancy modern "Italian theme" ones seem often around the world.

Tucked away in a side street in Hammersmith, small door opens into a lovely olde worlde Italian restaurant. I tried out Capri on several occasions in the past 12 months, Visited recently and thought it was time to give praise where it's due.The food is authentic, not your usual main street 'Italian' theme restaurant, it's flavorsome, tasty the kind of thing i grew up on. I always leave the wine selection to the restaurateurs opinion, he never fails, matches perfectly to the choice of dish, this is the type of service you normally get in Michelin star restaurants.

As a party of three colleagues, we don't know the area and stumbled upon this place just off the main road. The restaurant has great character and it seems like a family business that's been there for years. The owner(?) was a great character who served us well during the evening. The prices were more than reasonable, the food was good (the calamari was excellent) and the portions were reasonable alongside the free plate of garlic bread to nibble while we waited. Will definitely return again and would recommend as a different experience to the all to familiar chains and fancy bright modern eateries.

Recommended by my son and his partner who eat here fairly regularly and took us there whilst we were visiting. This is a hidden gem with ridiculously low prices. My veal was excellent. Others had pasta which looked equally good and was not, as you so often see, drowned in sauce. Simple Italian food cooked well. What more could we ask for?

Little Italian restaurant we discovered off of King street in Hammersmith. It was like walking into Italy. Older Italian gentleman served us, helped us with our Italian which we don't speak. Had a lovely pasta meal....fresh and tasty. Recommended a wonderful Italian wine. Little salad had a great vinaigrette dressing. Italian music was playing, checkered tablecloths....clearly a family restaurant and we were delighted.

After reading great reviews on here, we decided to check this place out. Totally empty except for us on a Saturday night- not a good start.Very warm welcome, friendly and discreet service. The food is pretty poor- there is no way anyone could reasonably describe is as "exquisite"! The pizza we had was definitely not made with home-made dough, the pasta tasted fresh but at a supermarket level. The toppings and sauces again were at a level I would expect to find in Tesco (not even Waitrose!). In fairness, the prices are very cheap which is why I've still given the restaurant 3/5, but I think the rave reviews here need a little moderation if you actually care remotely about the food you're eating.I'm also bemused at the 'vegetarian' tag attached to the restaurant- there are 2 veggie options in each the pizza and pasta sections, and lots of meat options in the mains/ grill.Overall, accounting for the prices, you could definitely do worse at other places nearby.

Colleagues and I were working in Hammersmith last weekend and visited Capri for dinner on the Friday evening. One of the group had found the restaurant during a visit earlier in the year, and was keen to go back. The owner/waiter was very welcoming though service was a bit slow at times. This wasn't a problem as we were in no hurry. The food was freshly prepared and very good. A good range of traditional Italian dishes. Prices were very reasonable. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the area

My daughter and I stumbled upon this place whilst walking down King Street looking for somewhere to eat - before seeing Jack Whitehall at the Apollo last night. Another one of those gems you only find by accident. A traditional Italian (complete with red/white checkered tablecloths), it sports a refreshingly sensible price list for a Central London eatery of this ilk. Two starters, mains and soft drinks we were presented with came in at £27.00 - although the can of coke and small bottle of mineral water alone totalled £5.30 (sadly not untypical of the usual silly prices charged for soft drinks in the restaurant and hospitality trade). The Pollo alla Lorre (Chicken Kiev) and Tagliatelle di Napoli (mushrooms) we had were, however, both very good and great value - so that's the trade off.Only five minutes walk from the Hammersmith Lyric and ten from the Apollo, I will definitely visit again when I go to see a show at one of these. Recommended.
