After having waited to go for so long, I was a bit disappointed with the food. It is all very good but pretty much aligned with every other Italian restaurant. Still a shame if it closes - the atmosphere is great

What an amazing night!! We travelled from the north of England to experience the hospitality at L’Amorosa and were not disappointed. From the moment we arrived, we experienced the best in Michelin level cuisine in a relaxed and cultured environment. The food prepared for us by Andy Needham and his staff was sublime to say the least. I could continue to comment on every aspect of our experience but I think it suffice to say that you need to visit this restaurant very soon before the restaurant closes in July and Andy moves to pastures new.

This really is a superb restaurant serving great modern genuine Italian food at affordable prices. It deserves to be far more recognised on the London restaurant scene than it currently is. One of the world's most demanding restaurant critics, Andy Hayler, loves the place and his website has got loads of detail of what you can expect. He introduced us to it. My wife Isabelle and I had some great meals here several years ago but, for no particular reason, we haven't returned recently. So we were delighted when we returned with a couple of friends and all of us thought that the food was exceptional. And we can be very picky. There wasn't a single bad dish. The pasta special was exactly that. Very special. My penne was perfectly seasoned. All three courses were great. And on top of this, every dish and the wine are properly and affordably priced. You won't hear come out feeling like you've been ripped off like so many London restaurants at the moment. Highly recommended.

A group of 9 .Theme of this review - small and more or less perfectly formed place. I had not been before - but palpable ( and not overbearing ) friendliness. Small place in unglamorous high street setting - yes - but inside - fine. Not many tables - and not too packed together, Small menu - with more than enough variety - some fish , some meat, some vegetarian . Superb pastas - a really well made ragu for the ravioli a case in point. Pork Chop cooked for exactly the right amount of time , delicious apple tart-y sort of thing for dessert - and so on . WInes - same story - as in not a huge list - but more than enough and the prices manageable . All in all - big hit and the bill did not induce a coronary - indeed good value.

My fiancé and I booked a table here to celebrate purchasing our first home, and we definitely picked the right restaurant! The service was speedy, the ambiance very cute, and the food superb. With so many Italian restaurants in London, it is difficult to stand out, but L'Amorosa definitely does. I loved that they had plenty of vegetarian options and appreciated that they had interesting non-alcoholic drinks, which at other restaurants can be limiting. The chef even came out to greet us personally at the end of the meal, which was a nice touch. They were also very considerate about my assistance dog. Would highly recommend!

The food was superb and the service was attentive without being intrusive. Prior to meal, we had one of the best Negroni's we've ever had. Both starters were excellent - Burrata with aubergine caponata and Parma ham with mustard fruit dressing. So were the mains - sea Bass and tuna (which was the dish of the day). The chocolate pudding with salted caramel ice cream finished off a terrific meal. Well done and thank you.

We had no expectations & in fact we initially thought the restaurant was closed for the evening. So glad it was not as our night was just special. It’s a relatively small restaurant but it is very personal and intimate. Andy the chef & his wife Lynne, who works the floor, are the owners & they can be so proud of what they present. The moment we walked in, there was a homily atmosphere. We were presented with a very relaxed welcoming & just a delightful feel. Lynne’s “offsider”, Angela, was also a beautiful person & as we were the only patrons at the time, we enjoyed the opportunity to chat to both ladies & get an understanding of the challenges & things they had overcome in recent years to ensure the business was a success. And then the real joy came when we were presented with our meals. We passed on the starters & decided on mains only. OMG how good. Jude went the Ravioli with a beef ragu. Being a big seafood fan, I decided on the special which was a prawn pasta. I think Angela described the pasta as being on steroids!!! Just incredible flavours and oh so good. We both left nothing and even better, unlike some pasta meals, we did not feel as though we had overeaten. Of course we had to try desert - chocolate mousse ( my wife was amazed how good it was) & I went the fig, frangipan tart with ice cream. Again they were exceptional. A fabulous night to farewell our time in Hammersmith. There is no doubt when we return to the UK ( fingers crossed again next year) we will be visiting Lyn, Andy & Angela to enjoy their food & hospitality. Price wise it may be a little on the high side for some & their budget, but when you try the food you will not be disappointed. If you are not happy after eating here you are hard to please!!!! Thank you all. See you again - Huge Aussie smiles from us both!!!! 😊🇦🇺👍🙏

They were endlessly helpful and creative about the menu planning and were genuinely enthused by the project. The food on the day was wonderful - seasonal ingredients beautifully cooked. We had so many compliments on it and everyone really enjoyed it. They were also hugely accommodating to more niche demands / kids. It's quite a small restaurant, fairly local. The menu is quite short but has interesting choices. We chose Parma with celeriac and beans starters and steak and ravioli for mains. Plus a bottle of their excellent house red, from Benevento E of Naples and reasonable at £24. The steak proved to have just run out (a good sign!) but they had a not on the menu portion of duck instead. We swapped both courses half way and all four dishes were rather special. The beans came with red onions and a sauce of aged parmesan, shallot and chives which was so delicious we were almost licking the plate. The other starter was good too. Our mains were both sensational, a lovely big portion of duck and intense flavours of wild boar, pork cheek and juniper with the ravioli. The three front of house staff were all efficient and friendly and we really enjoyed our first visit. It reminded us of Medlar, a favourite of ours, but is much easier for us to get to. The bill for a lovely two course meal for two with wine was just over £100 with tip. Not at all bad for that quality.

I'm sorry to say we had a poor experience at this restaurant. The cocktails were vile and overpriced. We had to send the olives back... how do you get olives wrong? My partner returned his main dish as it was undercooked. I had an enjoyable vegan meal from off the menu, but I was still hungry afterwards. The servers seemed really nice and didn't make a fuss, but they seemed inexperienced. I'm looking through other reviews and photos wondering how we had such a different experience to everyone else. Maybe we went on a bad day. I think you'll find much better value elsewhere though. £60 for 2 mains and 2 cocktails of that quality is daylight robbery.

We had a wonderful dinner at L'Amorosa. The place is cosy, the waitresses are very kind and polite and the atmosphere was relaxing and lovely. Food wise, the main pasta dish (ox cheek raviolis with a Chianti based sauce) was so good we ordered it twice, however the real letdown was the tiramisu, which honestly was shockingly bad (crunchy bits on top, no real cocoa powder, no taste of coffee at all, no alcohol). It won't keep us for coming back, but it kept me from giving it the 5 stars it would have otherwise deserved.

Experience was incredibly disappointing... as locals and fans of Italian food we really took a chance but very disappointed. Starter was okay and main was actually very nice...but our table was located by the toilet (we heard the loos flush!). The staff mentioned it was because it was busy however other tables were seated later than us and seemed to have a better deal..perhaps because we were in our late twenties and less likely to kick up a fuss? On top of this we told the staff and no apologies were made and not even a goodbye when we left. Feeling quite deflated after reading such brilliant reviews (and a £100 bill)..

I'd been meaning to get to this restaurant for ages but then Covid and various lockdowns intervened. Then I heard they were doing take aways midweek and weekends. Tried my first one yesterday and it was marvellous. Lovely cold meat starter with a fresh-tasting celeriac remoulade, amazing agnolotti in a rich, rich wild boar sauce for mains and a feather-light to die for tiramisu for pudding. All carefully wrapped up in recyclable containers. Main course was still piping hot when I got home to eat it. I would certainly recommend this restaurant and can't wait until it reopens so I can eat there in person. In the meantime their take aways are a great substitute.

Sublime lunch at L'Amorosa: every dish was perfection. The endive salad struck a fine balance between the bitterness of the greens and the richness of the gorgonzola-based dressing. The orecchiette with greens was perfectly al dente and somehow combined the feeling of autumn with a memory of spring. Lentils supporting the cod were expertly prepared and tasty, but not seasoned so much that they would overwhelm the taste of the cod: the toasted cavalo nero kale garnish added crisp starbursts of umami. We finished with a lovely poached pear and almond frangipane with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Service was excellent. Portions were well-sized, so while a bit pricier than its immediate neighbours on King St, I'd say L'Amorosa is a stunning value.

We were back with the family on the third day after their reopening in September and I am pleased to say that Amorosa IS BACK! Very glad to see them again (food, wine & team). Italian and international food at its best - unmatched in the whole Hammersmith&Fulham/Chiswick area. Also practising strict distancing policy for those who are concerned. Our previous review: Very, VERY good food, friendly, warm and professional service of the nicest kind - just what one needs after a December day full of kids activities. Popped in with family on a Saturday night. We had wanted to try the place for some time, and after our neighbours strongly recommended it we finally made it. They were fully booked but were able to sit down and have a quick dinner before the big crowds arrived. Great pasta for kids, nice prosecco, a solid house red, delicious main courses (chestnut pasta; braised venison). Shame we had to skip the very tempting puddings - we'll be back soon!

We had the best experience when we ate at L'Amorosa on Saturday 15th June. At the last minute, we needed to add 2 extra people to our booking and a lady (i'm sorry that i can't recall her name but she seemed like the manager) went above and beyond to squeeze us in. The two young men working were also super helpful, giving us two very nice wine recommendations. We originally had agreed to eat within 2 hours but once again the same lady managed to switch around some tables so that we could have dessert and a digestif each. The food was also delicious and reasonably priced for the quality. It had been my idea to go to this restaurant so it's always a relief when everyone you are with is so impressed with the food and service, we will definitely go again.

Excellent food, not too rushed. Perfect Italian cuisine without masking all the flavours with a mountain of parmesan (I was a sceptic as I love cheese but the flavours were too good to need any!) Amazing - we will come back for every big meal.

L'Amorosa always appears to be an undiscovered gem though it is never empty. Nor is it ever very full. There can be no doubt that the chef, Andy Needham, is totally on top of his game. He was head chef at Michelin-starred Zafferano in Belgravia before setting up shop here. A small menu using fresh, top quality ingredients executed with total confidence. And a reasonably proced wine list too. If there is a better example in west London I'd love to hear about it.

One of the best Italian restaurants I have visited. Extremely tasty food served here but very limited options as starters and mains have just a handful of choices.

Apart from Pizzerias (Santa Maria in Ealing is amazing) this is the best Italian restaurant outside of Italy we've visited. I predominantly find you're better off cooking Italian food at home as it's always a bit disappointing in restaurants, but not here. Food is delicious, simple, well cooked and waiting staff are also very friendly and accommodating.

Dinner for four. Tables too small, poor lighting (had to use my phone to read menu!), claustrophobic, too warm, limited and uninspiring menu. Overpriced. Food quality excellent.

Not just an excellent neighbourhood family restaurant, but a destination venue too. Small menu where everything is delicious and well executed. We have had family meals here with our teenage children, dinner a deux and also met with friends. Service is superb - attentive without hovering. I was lucky enough that my birthday fell on the last evening before the guys closed for the rest of the summer as it was the perfect choice for an intimate gathering with old friends - we had a long table for 14 people, everyone complimented the food choices and although the wine flowed, the bill was not too overwhelming. It's not a chain - if you want proper Italian food, well made with fresh and seasonal ingredients, this is well worth booking.

Such a perfect place for a birthday supper I'm now going to have to come up with excuses to return. The menu is short but as someone who is probably classed as a fussy eater I had no problem finding a fabulous starter and main. Coppa with a radichio salad with an unusual dressing of quince and vincotto was plate scrappingly delicious. I'm now on hunt to find vincotto for home use. Think Balsamic but possibly sweeter and stickier. My pasta was with clams and mussels, and broccoli. I know..but it utterly worked. The paster was little scoop shaped pieces that the sauce and bits nestled in. The woman serving was attentive without being over weaning and knew the dishes. I'm not normally a pudding person but who could resist chocolate fondant with coconut sorbet and popping candy. As the waitress said...a very high class bounty bar! So lucky to have this as a local restaurant. Husband very happy with his more meat laden pastas.

Food was stunning. We shared a beautiful buffalo mozzarella salad starter and ordered some home made bread which arrived with olive oil. Main course was pasta in a delicious brocolli sauce. We then each had a dessert, mine was Tiramisu and my friend ordered apple tart with ice cream, which she said was superb.

Bishops serves freshly squeezed orange juice at £6, but it is not squeezed at the premises and definitely not fresh. Mushroom risotto, the chef really needs to learn what risotto is, not a clue. Paid £26 for the above. Will never return

My partner and I came here for date night, it was fantastic! We had the truffle croquettes, burrata to share and then I had the Pasta Puttanesca. Amazing food and amazing service. Also MUST try the Tiramisu for dessert. Highly recommend! They even gave us Limoncello shots on the house after!

A quick pitstop at this small coffee, but worth a mention to highlight the rare handpull vintage coffee rarely seen in London anymore. Outdoor covered seating, located on the corner in a sun-trap opposite Putnery Bridge underground station, the fantastic Fulham Palace Park and of course the recently refurbished and extended Fulham Football Stadium at the far end of the park.

A really lovely little Italian cafe serving lunch. The Deli looked delicious but I was unable to carry food. I had the dish of the day which was very good. Lovely staff and I would highly recommend going here. I was on my way to Kelmscott House.
