Met my mum, sister and baby niece (and dog) for brunch. The food was delicious and freshly cooked. Service was quick and friendly with nothing being too much trouble. Gluten free options available. Would there again. Thank you 😊

Husband’s full English was not what it said on menu. Two sausage-NO, only one. Mushrooms no, only a small one, singular Plate only just like warm hence breakfast only lukewarm. Bacon and black pudding both precooked and re warmed. My poached eggs similar issue with only just warm plates. Nice tasty tomatoes thankfully. Locally Millers Farm shop (The teapot) and towards Honiton The Grazing Cow cost a lot less and much more flavoursome. Sadly will not return to Ric’s.

A pretty unique place. Have visited regularly since I moved to Axminster in January 2023. All food cooked to order. It's not a large place, so limited number of tables available and limited opening hours but this helps to ensure truly personal service with a relaxed ambience.

Ric has a new menu of breakfast and brunch options. We both had his Benedict and were delighted by the perfectly poached eggs under a creamy hollandaise sauce. Thoroughly recommended!

We had a great full English breakfast and avocado & scrambled eggs on toast with coffees. Food is cooked to order by Ric and is therefore hot and fresh. Friendly and hospitable, will definitely return.

We've visited this cute little gem twice now, and we'll definitely be visiting again! This great little spot in the middle of Axminster doesn't disappoint, there is a great selection on the menu for brunch or lunch, and a great choice of drinks too. But best of all is the service - a friendly smile and cheery welcome was received both times and we were made to feel very valued throughout our time there. The food is prepared freshly for you and is served in very generous portions! How lovely to spend time away from the chain coffee shops and relax in this little intimate cafe!

We’ve eaten a lot of Full English’s in our time…but Ric’s comes in at #4 (the others being: Coworth Park, The Pig & The Savoy!) Everything about this breakfast was fabulous; I couldn’t recommend it highly enough! Were those shiitake mushrooms?! TOP QUALITY!!! Also, the atmosphere; just lovely - and a table reserved permanently for one of their regulars. So personable! And now we have a loyalty card for Full English’s…clever! How quickly can I come back?! Just had the most amazing full english breakfast I've had in years (minus the black pudding!). Perfectly cooked quality ingredients made it truly memorable. Plus Ric is so friendly and welcoming. The cafe has a relaxed and chilled vibe which made the whole experience so pleasurable. Amazing value for money!

Went in for lunch not long before closing such a welcoming place. Ric gave the kids a pack of cards to play with and have a go at some tricks while waiting for food. The food was amazing we had 3 toasties and a breakfast all the food was amazing and we were even treated to a magic trick before we left which the kids loved.

Great place with a really friendly atmosphere. The menu has lots of choice and the food was delicious. The owner was so friendly and helpful - despite working on his own he managed to cook great food and offer excellent service to our group of 6 plus baby. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a delicious, good value meal in friendly surroundings.

I Was soo happy to see Ric's Famous Full English Breakfast back on the menu.. that I promptly made a booking for breakfast as soon as me and hubby had a day off together.. and boy it was worth the wait! On arrival Ric was friendly and welcoming, and took our orders, Full english for me and hubby had scrambled egg on toast with bacon.. also had a glass of juice and cappuccino. There was a little wait for the food, but we were happy to wait, not in any rush, so no problem. Let tell you it was definitely worth it..eggs perfectly fried, beautiful beans in a ramekin, quality sumptuous sausage, melt in the mushrooms, hash brown, awesome tomatoes and perfectly grilled bacon.. totally yummy and IMHO easily the best breakfast in Axminster. Hubby enjoyed his scrambled egg on sour dough toast with the beautiful bacon too.. The coffee was also of good quality and very enjoyable. There are lots of lovely choices on the menu for breakfast and lunch. We left with happy full tummies.. I love everything about this quirky little place.. We will be back.. very soon! :-)

After exploring around Axminster and feeling ready for a bit of lunch, we came across Ric’s . The restaurant was very cosy with many interesting things to look at while you wait for your meal. We were met by Ric who was running the place by himself and we didn’t have long to wait for our lunch. We both ordered a pot of tea and a bacon, Brie and cranberry baguette which was delicious. Thanks Ric for a great lunch.

We have no issue with food here the breakfasts are great. However the constant use of joss sticks prevents me and others I know from eating here. Surely as a chef you must realise smells can taint and spoil the food. I personally find it so off putting but Ric seems to insist on them- shame!

This is a fabulous little retro cafe, we discovered it when we went to Axminster market. Very friendly, great music and the best cheese and mushroom omelette I've ever had! Highly recommended! 💜

Just randomly choose Axminster for a stop on the way home from a two day break in Dorset and found Ric’s Kitchen - lovely retro atmosphere - such a helpful and excellent cook - best mushroom omelette I have had for a long time.
