Rhode Island Coffee in Oldham

Was on a site visit in Oldham and enjoyed a tea and piece of cake here. Very ‘Costa’ vibe but it isn’t which I’m always happy for. Staff were nice. Priced reasonably. Good location. Plenty seating. Thanks

Disrespectful to people with disabilities, the manager barred me over something that was dealt with over a month ago, we'd since been on holiday together, she was just annoyed that our secret affair broke down. But at least I will save money now instead of spending hundreds of pounds on cold coffee ☕

Love popping in here for a coffee when in Oldham staff are very friendly and the coffee is one of the best around. Great place to people watch too

Best place in Oldham to take some time out to have a drink of coffee, tea and maybe have something to eat. The staff are always very pleasant and happy to have a laugh with all customers! I’m a great fan of the coffee which is expertly served and is simply the best I’ve ever tasted! I hope you enjoy this cafe as much as I do.

always go here as a couple. coffee is lovely, comfy seating, relaxed atmosphere, wide variety of snacks / cakes but what makes this place is the people who work there. They Work so hard and they always try and make conversation. Must be difficult for them as some customers are challenging but I never go anywhere else. Top place & exceptionally nice staff.

Sundays are our usual trip to this coffee shop I've been a few times now and although it's a coffee place I now drink tea hahaha , Having said that brunch here is great very comfortable and not to expensive do great cold smoothies to bon appetite.

Being welcomed by friendly staff and served with good flavoured coffee and perfectly toasted tea cakes, what more could you want?

When moving to a new place to live, i always need to find a local coffee shop. A place to sit, relax and work when required. A coffee shop where the staff are warm and friendly and the coffee is great. Rhode Island Coffee shop ticks all of those boxes. A happy customer

I wasn't going to review this place however I thought it was worth raising from my recent experiance. I've been here about 5 times over the past 8 weeks as it offers something different to greggs (and better) It's a busy bustling place and the staff seam to cope well, well most of them, more on that later. The coffee is very good and the choice of food and cakes very good. They are quick to get the drinks sorted and fetch the food to the tables. I wouldn't advise sitting outside unless you like ashtrays and smokers on dirty tables and plenty of flies. I don't think its a cheap place to eat, but paying more for better quality i think in this case is essential. Its a shame the clemantine cake isnt currently on show. Now the bad part and the reason why I would not return. I was in the Queue awaiting to order when a gentlemen in front which didn't speak good english was being served by a very rude girl. This server was losing her temper with the gentlement. She was then losing her temper with the hot food, dropping it and throwing it away like a childs dummy, rushing to get another lot cooked for them. Started swearing and muttering comments about this Gentlemen. Now I'm aware we all have bad days but this was on show and I felt embarrassed. I was close to walking out but with a short lunch i didnt have time to find anywhere else. A a wiseman once said, if you can't take the heat, get out the kitchen. She should have gone in the back and gathered her thoughts before coming back out.

The staff are just brilliant. Quite a few people in the queue but team working meant you were served extremely quickly. Very friendly and very efficient. My tuna cucumber sandwich had plenty of filling ( unlike a few well known shops I could mention ) My new favourite coffee shop.

We always have coffee in Rhode Island when we go to Oldham (and Stockport). It’s just the best for coffee and toasted tea cakes and the staff are great. They always remember us and are so lovely and helpful. It’s so warm and welcoming. Wouldn’t go anywhere else!

I came in with my family after a long day of shopping, I was immediately welcomed by a young girl called Tia who took my order swiftly and with a smile, my coffee was made by a man named Martin and what a coffee it was I had a large caramel latte and my wife had a large cappuccino, the drink were that good we was scooping the last of the drink with our spoons!! I will definitely come again and tell my friends about the experience.

I visited yesterday and the service was great but there was one young lady brown hair she served me my coffee and she stunk of stale cigarette like she smoked 50 a day which was quite off putting

Hi, Whilst I have been into the refurbished Rhode Island in Oldham, I find that the new chairs, the light coloured ones are so uncomfortable it is unbelievable. You sit on them and you sink into them as though the springs have gone and you are sitting on /in the framework.I believe that you should contact you suppliers and get them changed.Other than that and the incorrectly marked up cakes it is a nice place.

This is my favourite place for a coffee.The coffee is just perfect and there is a good variety of snacks The staff are all friendly and always have time for a quick chat Being on the level it is easily accessible There is plenty of seating which is great if on your own Plenty to view whilst enjoying your drink and reasonable prices The loyalty card is also a great boon Love coming here!

I dont normally write reviews but First time visited Oldham and popped into this coffee shop was pleasantly welcomed by member staff, ordered soya latte and was offered selection of flavours spoilt for choice I ask which she recommended and went with amaretto. Coffee was great, pleasant relax atmosphere.

Went for the rustic veg soup after having it b4 and loved it, told the sign was wrong but they had some in the back, it wasn't soup was a bowl of veg nowt else, disappointed.

I always visit Rhode Island Coffee in the Spindles Shopping Centre Oldham when i am shopping there.

Fancied some soup whilst out shopping, came in here asked if they did soup, was told rustic veg and was given a sample to taste, I defiantly stayed for my lunch, wonderful staff and service, will be back on my next day off ty x

Myself and the wife come here regularly. The staff are wonderful (and funny), have great attention to detail for the coffee. The hot chocolates are delightful with the lil flakes

I've been here several times. It's a surprisingly lovely find in the area. As a coffee lover I tend to prefer independent coffee shops and avoid the big high street chains. Although this is a small chain it has the personal feel of independent coffee shops and the staff are extremely friendly and warm. The mocha has a good flavour and I always really enjoy it. They have a large variety of drinks and light food such as cakes. There are also a few toys for toddlers and high chair etc, so it's family friendly. In fact there are always people of all ages from elderly couples to young kids in there which is nice.

Rhode Island Coffee has been a great go to place for me and the wife, its become our little 'go to' coffee house when we're wondering around Oldham.

Visited this coffee shop a few times over the last few months for a coffee. All I can say is superb coffee, friendly and polite staff, good price and ideal location. It does get busy but the staff cope quite well and you are not kept waiting for your order.

Normalmente soy un cliente café Costa y encontrado un cambio, y nos enamoramos. Mmmmmmmmm Honeycombe chocolate caliente. Tienen un montón de diferentes sabores y variedad. El personal es siempre muy educado y cuando no están ocupados siempre entablar conmigo. La tienda tiene una selección de comida y pasteles para disfrutar. Un agradable cambio positivo. Mi única idea sería tener una selección de tazas de tamaño para llevar. También tienen una tarjeta de colección para conseguir un café gratis.

Nipped in for a quick coffee and all staff really friendly and chatty. Asked about a certain coffee which I've never tried and manager brought me one to the table so I could try without buying which I thought was really thoughtful. Didn't eat cake but must say it all looks amazing.

Went shopping and called in for coffee and toasted tea cake . Staff are really lovely here , shared a laugh and a joke with them and service was spot on . Teacake brought to table when ready and a nice hot coffee to go with it . The shop is clean and tidy and has plenty of tables to choose from . Will visit again .

The venue is nice, the staff are nice and the prices are fairly reasonable too. I actually preferred it to Starbucks in many ways and will visit again in the future. I won't be buying and Panini's again from there though as they use cheap flavourless rubbery cheese which was a let down. Other to that it was a good coffee shop.

Regularly use Rhode Island as great place located in centre of town with friendly and polite staff. Now even better as do Redbush Roibos tea as well as range of cakes and sarnies.

Rhode Island is a great asset to Oldham town centre. Service is always warm and friendly. I don't drink coffee myself, but family who are hard-to-please coffee buffs are always impressed with the quality. I have, however, sampled the cakes!It's a great place to take toddlers and babies as there is ample space for high-chairs and buggies, as well as a small area with toys.Choose Rhode Island over Costa and keep an independent coffee shop in business.

Best place in Oldham for coffee. Staff always polite. Have eaten here in the past and the minted lamb panini is great. Don't go up to Oldham very often as the town itself I'd dire.

It has been a while since my last visit and if anything the experience was just as i remembered it , the coffee (large americano )was just as coffee should be , my friends Latte he said was the best he had tasted , the staff greeted us warmly and on leaving ,thanked us for our custom , best coffee shop in oldham by far , we will return the next time we are in Oldham .

By far the best coffee shop in Oldham that I've experienced. However, comparing to the shops of Manchester City Centre, Liverpool, Sheffield etc they have a very long way to go to catch up. If I didn't have so much love and respect for the people I know there, I'd give the place a 1 star. The coffee really is woeful, over roasted and burnt. But the staff in general there make the place better. Especially Dave and Jas.

My wife and I regularly stop in for a coffee and toasted currant bun. Great coffees and nice atmosphere. As good as any of the big name brands. Not a place to go for a full english though.

I make this coffee place a regular visit every time I go into town. Not just because of the great coffee (and I am picky when it comes to beans) or the affordable prices but most of all because of the great customer service. All of the staff are lovely, friendly and helpful. It really brightens my day seeing a happy face and the whole place has a great atmosphere. Oh and the cakes are great too.

We visit Oldham weekly and always enjoy having a break, sitting overlooking the wonderful garden outside that has won the Garden in Bloom each year. This years theme has a Black Cab covered in artificial grass which is stunning ( and is especially so during this Christmas period with a Father Christmas on top of the taxi, pulled by toy reindeers) ----- what an atmosphere!

I visit this coffee shop regularly and always find the staff very friendly. Even when it's very busy the service is second to none. I always order an extra hot Skinny Latte and I love the latte art.
