Reuby's Salt Beef & Cheesecake Bar in Tendring

Absolutely amazing - always. Salt beef is incredible, cheese cakes amazing. Great big cup of tea. We always recommend to friends and visitors.

Five Stars in my book does not have to be a plush and luxurious establishment. All it has to do, to get those five stars, is do what it says on the packet, do it well and serve it with love. That's why I drive an hour in each direction just to eat one of their Salt Beef Sandwiches.

My husband and I agree on few things in life, one thing being that if we found ourselves on Death Row, a Reuby's salt beef beigel would be our last meal of choice. We've never had a sandwich like it. We just ordered two for our lunch, and the 5 or so minutes we took to eat them were spent in perfect silence. We meditated over these sandwiches, they are that good! We genuinely feel these might be contenders for the best sandwich in the world award. The latkes we ordered alongside are a delicious alternative to a hash brown and we thank you for the, also very delicious, piece of cake you added to our order. I wish we had the funds and the waistlines to eat at yours every day. Thank you again for the amazing eats!

We popped in after noticing this place when on holiday in Clacton for the week, keen to check it out as we both LOVE salt beef bagels and get them wherever we go- Beigel Bake has always been the standard but this place blew it out the water! All the trimmings were tasty, the salt beef was tender and moist and the beigel was prepped really quick for us when we came in. Also… husband is a dessert fiend, I am not a sweet person at all. Had to get a bit of cheesecake to try as well, and wow… I keep saying to him I am craving the cheesecake and I’m not even into desserts! Big portions, well home made and so many options on the menu we’d like to go back and try more next time we are in Essex- highly recommend!

What can I say about Reuby's that hasn't already been said? This place is simply amazing. The food is always of the highest quality and the portion sizes are enormous, you will not go hungry and boy I can eat! I have the pleasure of knowing Roy the owner as a personal friend and he will do nothing but look after you when you visit. The atmosphere in there is more like a community than a souless establishment and before you know it you will know everyone in there and they will become your friends. I defy anyone to get better food and desert (the cheesecake is home made and out of this world!) for a fantastic price in Clacton or the wider area and enjoy it as much as you would do in here. Well done Roy and the team!

well! where to start?! i’d heard rave reviews about this place and it did not disappoint! best thing i’ve ever had in my 51 yr old mouth! awesome food!!!! had to shut my eyes and just ‘be alone’ with it savouring it. omg!!!! how on earth did they get that beef like that?! never in my wildest dreams!!!!! omg! anazing. THEN double portion cheesecake in dedicated sea-swim preparation and WOW! luscious. truly luscious. plus THEEEE loveliest staff n owner. lovely setup n layout and extremely face-aching-laughter from a frequent customer! i’m fussy with food (as in: it’s gotta be BANGIN’!) and this was TRULY BANGIN!!!!!!!! if this is too far to travel to for you, quit putting it off and get a road trip done! you will NOT be disappointed. it’ll fill ya belly n soul!!!!! promise!
