'Remember When...' in Sheffield

Went here for the first time with family, had omelette with salad, the best omelette I’ve ever tasted! Staff were lovely and polite, will definitely be coming here again! Thank you :)

Visited this lovely tea room with my mum and sister for my mum's birthday, she had requested an afternoon tea treat and this lovely place fit the bill exactly. It was local, staff were helpful and friendly, the food was very tasty. Lots of food, in fact we had to have a doggy bag for a piece of cake as we couldn't eat it all. I was so full, I couldn't eat for the rest of the day :) Afternoon tea consisted of sandwiches, quiche, 3 cakes, scone with jam and cream and cups of tea (but you can choose your own beverage). Very good value and would definitely recommend, thank you.

I visited this wonderful Cafe about a week ago with my Dad who is almost 97 and has Alzheimer's. We have been enjoying the experience of the hospitality at "Remember When" for over 18 months now. Last Friday the owner was away but the Cafe was really buzzing. I noticed that Magdalena - one of the staff - seemed to really have everything under control. When I asked her about all the folk helping out in the kitchen, and there were quite a few of them, she explained that they were mostly customers who had willingly volunteered to help when asked because the Cafe was so busy and there weren't enough staff. Well done to finding creative solutions Magda! It was great to see the teamwork and people enjoying sitting both inside and outside in the sunshine. We were outside and it was a shame we had to leave the place soon after 2pm. This was because all the staff have children to collect from school. Even though Ruth, the owner, was away she still managed to bless both my Dad and myself as we thoroughly enjoyed the beetroot and radish soup she had made.

Love coming here as the food, hot drinks and staff are fab. This summer has been kind to us as it always seems to be sunny when we visit and we have to look for shade to stop the dog overheating! Tuna/majo jacket potatoes and salad hit the spot washed down with Earl Grey in a bone china cup! I bought a couple of scones to have in the afternoon and they were light with a biscuity crust.

Fantastic place, food Fantastic, staff friendly and very welcoming , this will be my regular eating hole from now on and if you want privacy there are little sheds on the courtyard which are absolutely fab and Cosy, can't fault anything, recommend quiche and Grandma's coffee 😀

Came across this little gem today, What a beautiful little tea room with amazing food with a great menu and very welcoming friendly staff. I even have to rave about the toilets, they have catered for every eventually right down to stoma care, no fusty towels or paper towels here, they provide individual cloths that you place into a basket after use. You can even have your own little cabin outside to dine in. Will definitely be going back to visit 💖

What a lovely find in Hackenthorpe. Home made quiche was fantastic. Crockery quaint vintage. Hot chocolate to die for. Wonderful atmosphere inside. Great service. Will go again for sure.

We've been to 'Remember When' a number of times this year and have introduced friends to this friendly cafe, where you're always assured of a warm welcome. The food is good, the prices reasonable and, in the better weather, there is space to eat outside. For light meals and snacks I would certainly recommend.

This was our first time at one of your afternoon “get togethers” with singer, quiz, bingo, but most of all plenty of laughs and just an absolute total delight. It was my mums birthday, and although no body knew her everyone wished her a “happy birthday” . We were made to feel soo welcome. Mum loved it so much and loved that we all sang happy birthday to her and she even won 2 prizes on the bingo 🥳. The singer was absolutely wonderful and Ruth & all her team (sorry can’t remember everyone’s names..oh Lyndsey was one) are just soo amazing. Not sure if they really realise what a truly wonderful effect they have on peoples lives that visit their cafe and go to the special afternoons. Honestly it was just wonderful, a total joy. My daughter came with us as well who is just 25 and she had a lovely time as well and was also made to feel soo welcome. Just goes to show you welcome everyone with open arms. The secret in life is plenty of laughs and you certainly get this here 💖. In this day and age it is so important to be nice to each other and this cafe totally and utterly represents this. Oh my goodness where do I start. My husband knew of this place due to working in the area and had mentioned it to me a few times. Then today he surprised me and had booked us a table for a bit of lunch. From the minute we walked in I could sense the warm welcome, the lovely atmosphere and what a true gem this place is. The 2 young girls and the lady’s customer service was second to none and they are clearly loved by all the regulars that go. They made us feel soo welcome and what lovely staff members they are. The food was absolutely lovely, all served to your table and the presentation of the food is just lovely. If you just want to pop in for a coffee and scone or teacake it’s an absolute must. Lots of food to choose from. It was soo lovely we will definitely be returning regular customers and have booked afternoon tea in March for my mums birthday. I love bringing my daughter Remi, and friends here. The welcome is warm, the food is yummy (especially the afternoon tea) and it’s really well priced. Ruth and her mum are the sweetest. It’s not every day your baby tries to hug a cafe owner! I’d eat cake here every day if I could. If you haven’t tried the cheese and marmite quiche, you haven’t lived!

I was over visiting my family in Sheffield and came across this café. I have no complaints. All the staff were talkative and made us feel welcome. Would recommend to anyone and I'm sure I'll be visiting again soon!

Lovely local cafe. Delicious home cooked food and cakes. Sit quietly, or take a trip down memory lane. Specifically designed to be dementia friendly. Fully accessible just a Shame it's not open on Saturday's due to sharing the local sport and social club facilities. The homemade soup and quiche are delicious as are the sultana scones. Very reasonably priced.
