Ate at the burger van in ciren square. Friendly staff but awful food. Chicken burgers are branded to the hill as organic, homemade etc. In fact the quality was awful. I think they have tried to use chicken thighs for quality but I can honestly say mine was at least 15% gristle. AVOID!

My wife and I frequently stop here for a mid afternoon coffee and cake. Parking is easy, the surroundings are spacious and the view of the lake and bird activity is very peaceful. The biggest problem is deciding which of the cakes to by. There are so many and so good.

Relish provided their catering and event services for my daughters wedding at our local WI Hall. I would recommend Relish for a wedding occasion the food was superb and the service they provided was first class. Considering they cooked the food in an unfamiliar kitchen the presentation was excellent making the wedding breakfast most enjoyable and positive comments made by all of the 60 guests.

Have visited before for lunch and stopped in whilst visiting Cotswold Outdoor shop next door. I think it depends on whether you are looking for a meal or light bite to be honest. We opted for toasted sandwiches(pitta breads) and a pot of tea. The pittas are in the fridge next to sandwiches and there is some choice , but no prices so we incorrectly thought they would be similar to the sandwiches....the bill for two toasties and two cups of tea was £14.30 ...which I think is quite a lot. However they had fish and chips for £8 ,which the person on the next table had, and that was a huge portion for the price. Lesson learned...the hot meals are far better value. I would not rush back here, but the restaurant is clean and staff friendly.

We have stopped here several times to break a long journey, our most recent visit in August was probably the best as we did not have to queue whilst the drinks were made as these are now bought to your table by the very hard working waiting staff who I felt were having a difficult time trying to find the right tables as there are several different areas to sit maybe it would help them if you said which area you would be sitting in as it does get very busy, We had a Sweet Chilli Chicken Melt which was quite tasty with a lovely side salad ,then we tried a slice of Jewel Bar which had chocolate cranberries and seeds /nuts followed by a very good cup of coffee. I have always enjoy the coffee here and I can be a little fussy when it comes to coffee!

I've been going to Relish since it opened....however, every time we go, whether a large group or small group of us, it gets worse! We've all noticed it as has everyone else we talk to. The cafe is dirty - carpet has never been cleaned (who puts a cream carpet in somewhere like this and doesn't clean it?!, the tables are always dirty with other people food and crumbs. They ALWAYS get our order wrong and never apologise - every time they mess up I have to get up and walk to the till to explain and try and fix it. We always end up eating at different times. The waitresses - bless them are clearly only there on minimum wage and aren't bothered about customer wellbeing or providing a good service. Does this place even have a manager or anyone senior noticing what's happening to this business? Spend your money elsewhere! there's plenty of nice places to eat in Cirencester, South Cerney or even next door at the 4 pillars hotel. the food is expensive here and I wouldn't be surprised if Relish fails to survive the next couple of years.

Have to say not as good as once was, they still cook great food but the plates the food came on were cold. The table was dirty from pervious guests. The breakfast was very expensive. 2 eggs Benedict and 3 English breakfasts 2 pots of tea, 3 coffees £47. Guys you need to sort your prices out and train your staff they were sleepy and slow. Carpet is very dirty and stained. Great venue nice view of the lake just needs a kick or motivation.

I have visited relish several times now and almost always have been very pleased with the excellent food. Enough to keep me coming back! My usual dish is the Eggs Benedict - only once has this been disappointing. The rest of the time it has been extremely tasty and satisfying. Even my 9 year old wants to order it next time. My last visit was just 'passing through' and I grabbed a quick prepacked sandwich to take away. I have never had a sandwich packed full of so much chicken! It felt like a proper meal and I was full up afterwards. The salad bar is another favourite. There are always three salad dishes which you can choose from - or have a mix of two or all three. All are home made and fresh. Overall, my experience of the food is that it is of great quality, is home made and always has an extra 'tasty' factor compared to some other cafes. This does reflect in the price but sometimes I don't mind paying a bit extra for a special lunch.

We fancied a sausage roll with coffee and were more than disappointed with the product served. It had been heated in microwave and the pastry was tough and leathery. Sausage meat was unappetising too. It doesn't take much to get a sausage roll right....does it?!

We regularly go to the Relish cafe in the water park. What's not to like? Good food and a very special location where you can sit and gaze at the lake and watch the birds at the feeder station. Only negatives are that it does get very busy and they have got our orders wrong a couple of times. When that happens, a cheerful refund is on offer or a free meal. There is another Relish in town. It's not as good as it has a smaller selection of food and the atmosphere is not as special.

There's a large notice at the back of the serving area that says "All day breakfast" - but I was told at 3.30pm that the kitchen had closed, there was, however, a blackboard on the way in, that I missed, saying that hot food was served till 3pm. Disappointing that it's not clear on the main menu sign. Coupled with poor service and tables that hadn't been cleared it was not a good experience, they need a decent manager in there as it appeared to be run by young girls and boys.

We went here for lunch today hoping for a bit a sunshine to watch the water fowl. Unfortunately that was not forthcoming but the food was excellent. We both had jacket potatoes which were very well cooked with lots of filling and a nice side salad too. It is semi self service, you either pick up a prepacked sandwich and drink at the counter or order hot food which is then delivered to your table. Service was quick, in spite of the fact that it was very busy. I don't usually like potatoes all that much, but these were delicious. Recommend the jackets!

We had heard about this restaurant from friends and, whilst in the vicinity on a cold raw day, decided to visit. So glad we did, we found it very warm and welcoming with lovely views of the water park. Food was semi-self service, excellent choices and simply delicious. Husband had a Full English which he loved. I had a superb quiche, not good for the waistline, I fear! Creamy, well flavoured, perfectly cooked and served at the correct temperature. Finished off with a variation on a mince pie - made with filo rolled in a cigar shape, filled with mincemeat, no room, unfortunately for any of the other delicacies! Well worth a visit

This seems to be part of a catering company based in Swindon. The food is very good but self service. The place is bright, cheerful and clean with lovely waterside views. Some seating outside by the lake. All very nice but expensive. I consider £9.50 for two pieces fruit cake and a pot of tea for two just far too much for a self service cafe.

This is really just an update to my review in July 2012: “Fantastic burgers with no frills”. If you have been disappointed to find Relish closed it is because they have moved. Fortunately, they have moved not too far away: the location is, quite literally, Somewhere Else, the bar just a couple of doors down (61) from the old premises at 51 Castle Street. In terms of atmosphere and service, this has to be a good thing. It is also nice to be able to get something decent to drink to go with the food (the previous choice of beverage was as basic as the decor).More importantly, the good news is that the burgers they serve as as good as they ever were. Even better, you can now order proper, hand-cut chips to go with them. The bad news is that they serve the hand-cut chips only in the evening and not at lunchtime. This is the only disappointing aspect to Relish: these are, by a long way, the best burgers one can buy and very nearly burger perfection. The burgers therefore deserve something better than the usual fries they are served with. These really are an unworthy accompaniment to such glorious burgers, which merit chips of equal class. So, come on chaps (and chapesses), do your burgers the justice they deserve for the lunchtime as well as the evening diner.

Relish is one of those frustrating restaurants where the food is great, but there are just little things missing that would make this place a truly memorable experience. The burgers really are very, very good - and I lived in the US for 20 years! But - we were there at prime time on a Saturday - 1pm - and the place was dead. The weather was gorgeous outside, but the doors to Relish were shut and we had to look through the window to make sure it was open! The girls working there clearly made it obvious they would rather be anywhere else. I wish one of them would have opened the front door and I bet they would have had lots more customers. As mentioned - the burgers are very good and well worth the £6.25 or so for the meal - a large bag of just-cooked fries and a soft drink. But....I just wish they could have served it in one of those red plastic baskets rather than a bland white polystyrene container (relish = colour!).All in all - a good place to have a very good burger - and they are not too far away from being a truly wonderful dining experience - but it's frustrating they are not doing what they need to do to get there!

I consider myself a Burger connoisseur, having spent much time in the US.A friend recommended this joint, and I was not disappointed! The burgers are huge, and without a doubt the best I've ever had in the UK, and one of the best ever. The service was good, just as one would expect from a burger joint. The place was clean and had a great atmosphere.I can't stress enough how tasty the burgers are. My burger had a homemade feel, yet tasted of delicious beef, and such good value considering the portion size. So much better than The Gourmet Burger kitchen who are anything but gourmet. If you want an amazing burger experience this is the place to go!!

We went here for lunch on the recommendation of a friend and someone who really likes his food. We weren't quite sure what to expect. Relish is not a restaurant but a fast-food, take-away outlet with some basic, wooden tables and benches at the front of house. The service is very good but only what you'd expect in such an establishment. And if you do eat-in, don't expect plates or cutlery (though two forks were provided when we asked). The atmosphere, such as it is, is rather brash and noisy.Blimey! So why five stars? Simply because of the food. Our friend was spot-on: these were the best burgers I've had in quite a while (cf. my review of the Handmade Burger Co.). They do serve chicken and other dishes, but I will focus on the burgers. The choice at Relish is limited (only four types of burger: classic, cheese, cheese and bacon, skinny) but it's all about the ingredients. The meat burgers are made from locally sourced prime beef (from Jesse Smith, the award-winning butcher, with a shop in Cirencester), and they haven't skimped on the other ingredients either: applewood smoked Gloucestershire black spot bacon, a really good local cheddar and a Hobbs House Bakery sesame seed bun. I should also mention that the burger was properly cooked and was ever so slightly pink, which in my view is how it should be - juicy and full of meaty flavour. Served with a great in-house relish and nice salad, chips and a drink, this was a good lunch choice and was about £20 for two. If you are in Cirencester, then Relish is worth a visit - but, actually, it's worth a trip to Cirencester to have lunch here.
