Redemption Bar in Hackney

Was very rudely greeted by front of house / manager :( Food was ok but too expensive for what it was.. portions were not the most generous. Paid £9 for a really small side of potatoes… the place wasn’t that clean and toilets were dirty. The younger waitresses were really nice and it was one person’s first day she was lovely ! But the manager was very rude sadly :( All in all very disappointed as I am all for vegan restaurants and always the biggest advocate for them but will not be returning to redemption or recommending it to friends.

Muy buen lugar para tomar un café o un brunch. El menú es bueno pero un poco caro: sabroso pan de plátano a 7 libras. El personal estaba muy ocupado ese día, así que no era muy agradable y tuvimos que esperar para que nos atendieran.

La comida era muy sabrosa y los ingredientes parecían frescos, y el personal era amable. La porción de la ensalada César era un poco pequeña, pero muy sabrosa. Los nachos y batata - hummus eran geniales! A mis amigos les encantó su hamburguesa y la porción era de buen tamaño. No creo que vuelva porque, por lo que comí, era un poco caro, pero quizás otros platos serían más satisfactorios y más razonables en cuanto al precio. ¡Sin embargo lo recomendaría!

¡Redemption Bar es uno de los mejores lugares saludables para ir en Londres! La comida es increíble, el lugar es muy acogedor y el personal es muy agradable. ¡Me encantó y seguro que volveré!

Cercavamo un ristorante vegano con i miei amici e ci siamo imbattuti in questo bel posto, molto carino e curato dove troverete il personale cordiale e gentile ed attento ad eventuali vs allergie/intolleranze. Ho preso un porridge proteico a base di quinoa, semi vari e mirtilli accompagnato da un buonissimo pane ai cereali fatto in casa; ho concluso il pasto con una fetta di banana-bread ricoperto di pezzi di banana, more, lamponi e una crema al cocco; squisito!!! Aptly named redemption pulled through with an absolute corker of an evening after a disappointing initial visit! After expressing a tiny bit of dissatisfaction they pulled out every stop to make sure we had the most incredible animal product free meal. Couldn’t be more pleased and grateful to Julia and the guys down at Redemption! From one sceptical meat eater to another... definitely worth it!

Second visit here, won’t be the last. Awesome food, (was legit surprised at how good it was) leaves you feeling FUUUUUULLLLLLL (but a good full, not sluggish full) and the service and general vibe of the evening was awesome. Big shout out to Julia and the staff at Redemption for a lovely, plenty, light evening! Would recommend to all my meat loving friends along with all my herbivores xxx

The cafe/restaurant is set within Neals Yard. I didn’t have a meal but noticed what others were eating, will revisit sometime for a main meeting. We had vegan cakes and hot drinks. A great selection of very attractive cakes. I selected a blueberry muffin which had a whipped creamy topping decorated with blueberries and tiny yellow pansies. Delicious. The ambiance was good. The chairs are covered in blue flowered velvet material and are both very attractive and comfortable. Service was good, it was friendly too. The excellent toilets are down quite steep steps. It was a little bit noisy when the cafe became full. All in all a good experience.

We were allowed in without a lunch booking with great fuss (the place was half empty and never filled up). The waitress made a face when we asked for tap water and pushed us into paying for filter water which goes to help some random charity we'd never heard of. She made it awkward to say no. The room is pretty but the accoustics are terrible for conversation. It was quite hard to hear my friend seated opposite me, and we are not quiet girls! My soup was excellent, and the sweetcorn pancakes were also delicious. The waitress brought our coffees out at the same time as our food, which was rather irritating as we'd had a long wait with no drinks. And then we were trying to drink coffee and soup at the same time!

As a usual carnivore I loved it. This place has excellent food with interesting ideas, will come again when I can.

I’m glad I didn’t read reviews here before visiting Redemption as I may not have gone - I hate bad service even more than bad food! But maybe staff have been asked to up their game following reviews here? The service we received was exemplary. My husband and I arrived on a Saturday lunchtime without a booked table and the place was full except two places at the narrow coffee bar - staff moved a plant so we would have space to eat there. When friends called and asked to join us in 30 minutes, we were able to move to a vacating table. I had the sweetcorn pancakes and sweet potato wedges with pomegranate and sriracha mayo and both were amazing. My husband had the sweet brunch pancakes - the pancakes were quite small so not the best choice if hungry but the fruit they came with was exquisite, I had the passion fruit (as husband doesn’t like it) and it’s the tastiest I’ve ever had. To drink I had a coffee with cacao and medicinal mushrooms which was great and perked me right up. When our friends arrived they had the burger, which they loved despite both being non-vegans. I can’t wait to come back here both for the food and the lovely service.

It was the best food we had in London in 5 days! The burger was amazing, stunning sweet potatoes! Check it out!

Visited on a Thursday for lunch (had pre-booked) with my daughter who, unlike me, is a Vegan and had eaten here before. Service was great throughout our three plus hours visit. My daughter had the Buddha Bowl and I had the Pad Thai (which is a cold dish); both were exceptional, even for a non-vegan like me and I felt totally satisfied and was impressed with the taste sensations both meals provided (I got to try my daughter’s Buddha Bowl too). I would happily eat here again.

Walked in at 4.30pm on a Saturday. Place was half empty yet waitress/front of house really seemed like she didn’t want us to be there. Grudgingly sat us down and told us she’d need the table back at 7pm(!). In retrospect this was probably an indicator of how slow the service is. She then ignored us for 20mins. There were five tables to be set with a knife, fork and napkin. Oh, and the phone rang once. I guess it was a busy afternoon... To be fair, she did say thank you as we walked out without ordering a thing! Avoid.
