Red Rooster Shoreditch in Hackney

Food pretty good and something to go back for. Music quite loud and the bar seemed fun with the staff showing all the customers a few tricks from time to time with the drinks. Overall an excellent visit.

I didn't actually go into the restaurant but visited the store at a food festival held in Bristol this weekend. ( 19th - 22nd ay 2022. But had to put something down for overall rating. The food was amazing, tried some turkish delight, some honey roasted peanuts which were lush. My issue was with the measurements. I asked for 250g of honey roasted nuts, received 320g For £5.00 ( As I measured this at home prior to opening) and was charged £10.00 for 500 g . 180g of which I hadnt recieved. This to be fair was probably an oversight, but none the less, in a festival where food was not often less than £7 to order something it worked out very expensive for myself and my wife. This unfortuntely has sullied my opinion of the restaurant. So watch the measurements.

Visited a couple of weeks ago for the Gospel Brunch. Make sure you book in advance as it gets booked up pretty fast and getting a table can be difficult. The service was excellent. The staff was friendly, helpful and more than happy to accommodate our request to change tables. They offered advice on the food and never rushed us off to give our table to someone else. We ended up staying most of the afternoon enjoying the amazing singing! The food was good. Nothing sensational but the atmosphere, decor, singing and all Made it a really good place to visit. Coming back to the food it is quite expensive for what you get. Soul food yes but not such great choice and portions are relatively small. Chicken and waffle tasted good but was a starter portion. Cornbread was sensational. One of the best I’ve tasted (and this is including many US trips). This was a great outing. Yes the music gets loud and it’s pricy but it’s a really great atmosphere.

An all round 10/10 evening. We had perfect service from Christyll, who made our night extremely enjoyable. The atmosphere was lively and fun, and the food was INSANE! Order the whole chicken - you won't be disappointed. The restaurant itself is amazing- such a lovely vibrant decor. We will be back!

Brunch plus a gospel choir singing in the background? How cool is that. We had a good time, the food was nice, the vibe was good and the crowd were really into it. Just due to the timing of the food coming out, I wasn’t able to really enjoy the performers as much as I’d like. But a couple of times I did abandon my food to join the crowd and enjoy the performance. The only thing I would say is that the food came out a little bit slowly. There were several courses and there just seemed to be a bit too much waiting in between. But overall was a very good experience and I’d certainly recommend it.

We saw Marcus on one of the Saturday morning cooking shows a few months ago and booked a table as we were inspired by his food. Unfortunately that was not what we experienced. The food and service was fine - nothing more.

We had a nice time, nothing too amazing to be memorable but neither anything too bad. Just average food and ok service.

We had a really lovely meal over the weekend at the Red Rooster. The chicken and waffles and devil eggs were super tasty. We also found the taco truck and roast rump super delicious. The desert was also quite yummy. However, it must be noted that the overall price we paid for the meal was a tad bit on the high end and they slap on a 12.5% service charge at the end. Just be aware ! Otherwise, the staff were super friendly but a little undertrained and spaced out (they were all students marked by their badges). The music is very lively and loud and there is a bar in the middle where the bartender would every so often give a little performance. I would only visit here once though.

Had brunch on a Sunday at this great soul food restaurant and it was fabulous. They had gospel choir performing which was incredible. I live in New York City and need now to go to the Red Rooster in Harlem.

Service from Denise was 10/10, if this review was solely based on the service we received from her it would without a doubt be 5 stars! We had a large group and I can only imagine how difficult it is to deal with, but Denise was amazing - thank you! The food options for the bottomless brunch were limited and average, dessert quite poor, but cocktails were good! The host (on the mic) for the afternoon was very impolite, quite disrespectful to various groups and on many occasions made comments along the lines of ‘I don’t care I have already been paid for today’, was not funny or personable in the slightest but quite the opposite.

Nice venue, bar, dining area, Average and small portions of food, frozen donut for desert expensive for £35 but catered to allergies. Good DJ really annoying MC she just killed the vibe. The hotel wont allow you to use the bar after brunch which is silly, we all met there!!!!

We reserved in advance as we specifically wanted the gospel sunday experience. The food prices are above average but the food quality is good. Service could have been better being honest, little touches like asking if everything was OK, did we want more drinks, clearing our mains away and offering dessert rather than us asking. It was a lovely Sunday lunch experience but I don't think we would return but glad we ticked it off our London list.

Booked in to meet people for a casual lunch, happened to be a Sunday and I wasnt disappointed. Again, characterised by the Hotel this place is in, The Curtain, I and my guests were well looked after. Seated at the bar, we were treated to a gospel choir who came in as part of the Brunch entertainment. Great evening out, dining for two and staff went above and beyond to make the whole dining experience fantastic. Food was brought out timely, regular checks at table made, friendly and responsive staff. Indulgent food choices, Great ambience. This place cannot be faulted.
