Service was awesome the waiter and waitress were all so friendly and welcoming. Ordered a pork and vege dish and they were both DELICIOUS !

My girlfriend and me have recently moved to Manchester and it’s fair to say that this restaurant has set the bar incredibly high. The service was excellent and the waiters were extremely kind and welcoming. The delicious food brought me back to when I lived in Hong Kong and had me leaving missing it even more. I highly recommend you give this restaurant a try as it will not disappoint!!!

Absolutely delicious! After just having returned from a trip to Hong Kong, this brought back incredible memories and did not disappoint as an authentic Cantonese restaurant. We ordered garlic fried green beans, Sichuan style noodles and black bean beef with a side of rice. All of it was perfect. We went on a rainy Sunday night and the staff did everything to make us comfortable and enjoy our time there. Absolutely recommend :)

We have been to a few different Korean bbq places but this was by far our favourite. Staff are lovely and extremely helpful, the food is fresh and everything feels well priced for the value you get. I would really recommend coming here and bringing your friends for a fun and tasty Korean bbq experience. We opted in the £28pp menu and it was fantastic, we couldn’t believe how full we were after :) Hope you guys will be as lucky as we were with the experience!

This place feels like we have stumbled on a gem! Amazing, fresh Korean BBQ. The staff are wonderful and really care about the food and your experience, recommending sauce pairings and helping you cook everything properly. We felt so at home and cant wait to come back. Very reasonably priced all you can eat BBQ - come hungry!!!

Been here today with family and it was amazing, the ladies were so helpful trying to choose dishes. My daughter has spot this place while visiting and she was right. The food was amazing, I had xio style soup and tried dumplings, etc., we've had a limited time before an appointment so we'll be back here 100%.

A hidden gem with tasty good quality food. We came in late at night craving hotpot and this restaurant was perfect. The all you can eat hotpot was delicious with a range of soups and good quality ingredients. The couple who run this were lovely. Giving us recommendations on dipping pairings (pick and mix) and tips on cooking the meat perfectly. Support this local family business and try their flavourful food. The inside is beautiful and there is enough space to host parties. We're already planning a group get together for our next visit to Manchester.

Really central location and popped in here early eve on a Saturday. Really authentic Chinese family run restaurant. Lots of locals in. Have a ‘British’ type menu but also opportunity to choose authentic dishes. Waitress helped with suggestions. Reasonably priced. Was just a little quiet in there. Defo recommended!

Fried Pot Stickers❤️❤️❤️❤️ The texture of the skin is good, but the filling is nothing special. However, frying is generally not crispy enough, so maybe the red oil taste is better. Braised pig intestines❤️❤️❤️❤️ No odor at all🥰 It tastes good and tastes good, but the brine smell is relatively weak

Came here for an early dinner so the place was pretty quiet. We had a lovely welcome from the owner who then helped us choose from the extensive menu. We opted for some Szechuan dishes that were absolutely delicious! The restaurant also does BBQ style meals too which we didn’t have time for, but will hopefully be back. This place is on the edge of Chinatown but only by 2 minute’s walk. Go!!

The food is quite good though the portions are not the biggest among the Chinese restaurants I've eaten in in Manchester. The only downside is that we were overcharged by £7.4 for an unknown reason. Pity that I noticed it when I got home only. Update: I contacted them later and in a few days I got the refund for the overcharge. Thanks to the team!

Friendly place. Fairly quiet as of a Tuesday evening. However service and food quality were absolutely excellent. The restaurant was happy to cater for specific dietary requirements.

Excellent authentic Chinese food. Great flavors from different regions in China. Nicely presented, and very reasonably prized.. the host and the waiters are very thoughtful and professional, the food comes out quickly, and every dish is packed with flavor! Spicy or mild, I would recommend Red to anyone in Manchester.

Brilliant hotpot. Cooked dishes also great, best dish was the 孜然羊肉. Hard to find good, authentic tasting Chinese food in Chinatown but Red Restaurant stands out as the best.

This place is located just outside of main China town but the food here is fantastic. The service is amazing. One of the waiters helped us get our stroller up the stairs. The interior decor is very basic but it has that traditional China town feel. If you’re looking for good tasting spicy Chinese food, this is the place to go!

A lovely seemingly family-run Chinese restaurant serving Sichuan food. We had the hotpot buffet and it was DELICIOUS. You can order multiple rounds of ingredients (8 types of ingredients per round) over the course of two hours for £25 or so per person - bit of a splurge for two people, but would have been more economical for a bigger group. Great sauce-making station, fresh-looking ingredients, lovely soup base (including 酸菜鱼 - my favourite), and lots of fish and veggie options (not sure if the soup base is vegetarian friendly though - would ask if that is important to you). Another highlight was the service, which was extremely warm and welcoming. Will definitely come again next time I am in Manchester!

The taste of the foods were incredible, I've had so many Chinese food in my life but I gotta say this is the best I had. I recommend this restaurant very much. A family run place. There are two different menus. One if you prefer a standard fare and one if you are looking for some interesting and authentic Chinese (I am myself not Chinese but have traveled to China a bunch of times). Pigs intestines and ox tails kind of things. Everything very fresh and tasty. They have an interesting design. There is also a lot of space inside. Overall, I highly recommend it. It feels rather different than other Chinese places.

We had the best service at this store. It was rainy and the staff gave us an umbrella while going to car park. The food was also nice. Good hot pot like i had in China.

We went in for the Hot Pot and have also had delivery. As nice as the staff are, the food really doesn’t meet our expectations. Delivery: We had order 4 different dishes. All had exactly the same sauce throw in the trays. It was the first time in 5 years we’ve stopped eating a takeaway meal due to the quality. Eating in: Hotpot meat didn’t seem that great in quality. The hotpot wasn’t the 9 section hot pot as advertised. In general, a standard hot pot with nothing special to note.

Was a weekend away with friends and we ended up eating here. The food was absolutely amazing, we took a Set A for 4 people and some starters on the side. Not kidding when I say the honey spare ribs were among the best ribs I've ever had. The service too was amazing and our host was very lovely. Definitely a hard recommend 😊

Fantastic meal. We went with the Korean BBQ option. Alisha cooked the food at our table. We choose a selectionn of 8 different meats and fish. Great value for money. We wouId give it 6 🌟's but 5 is maximum.

I ordered here for the first time because I'd just come back from a family holiday in China where we did a lot of eating dry pot meats, especially frogs. I loved it! We stopped via London where I ordered multiple times from Sanxia Renja Chinese restaurant and it was as perfect as in China. I've also ordered from PinWei and Tai Wu in Manchester in the past, alongside Szechuan Kitchen. However, my order from Red Restaurant for Dry Bull Frogs though tasty and impressively arrived very piping hot, had little to no frog legs and was full of oil, potatoes and veg. If I wanted dry veg pot with little frog meat I'd have ordered that. As someone with Chinese heritage , we know frog legs are cheap, so I don't understand why we had probably 2 pairs of chopped up frog legs for two people (I ordered 2 portions and worked out as 1 pair of frog legs per person chopped up)! I honestly would have let them off but for the guy on the phone arguing with me and questioning whether I know what dry pot is because of my accent. If it were Deliveroo I'd have asked for my money back. Please see the pics and judge for yourself as some were the initial ones we opened and the one with the clingfilm shows the portion that was meant to have the frog legs. Literally only a tiny pair you can make out. The others had a leg 🦵 chopped in two and that was all!!! Terribly disappointed! It seems the good reviews are fr those that visit the restaurant. For me, poor service.

Authentic Sichuan style Chinese restaurant. They also do bbq and hotpot. We have tried spicy fish/ chicken /intestines and egg fried rice, food was spicy enough and was tasty. Staff is super very friendly and polite. £56 for 3 dishes, 1 egg fried rice and 1 steam rice, a pot of tea. Very reasonable price in China Town. The only thing is the portion size was a bit small but overall it is a good place to try.

Such a fantastic restaurant! We felt so welcomed by the staff, as well as the food being excellent. We shared a lot of dishes including XO scallops, chopped sweet & sour spare ribs, fried asparagus, sour cabbage fish soup, smashed cucumber & cumin lamb. They were all stand out dishes which I would recommend. We can't wait to come back here :)

Was up visiting Manchester and needed some spicy Chinese food. What a great place. Ask for the Chinese menu. We had the pork thigh in savoury sauce, the boiled beef slices in hot chili oil and the fish fragrant aubergine, all excellent. Good prices, really friendly owner and big portions. Definitely be back.

Wasn't impressed. Went in and found the whole staff eating on the big round table. Trying to order can be a bit tricky due to the fact the waiters English is very bad. We wanted to try the hot pot, however we've been handed some menus where we couldn't find the option for what was looking for. Asked him about the hot pot, but again, English was an impediment. Decided to eat something and leave.

Lovely place, small team of family staff and waits can be expected but mostly service is on time, very friendly and accommodating outside of peak Dinner times. Alicia is the manager and has the main English communication skills so be mindful of any specific requests and orders with her other staff, as English inst their first language. Prices are reasonable for the high quality, freshness , flavors and extensive menu. Excellent authentic Chinese restaurant with Vege and Western and Chinese dishes. Limited Vege/Vegan BUT Alicia will make dishes that are vege without meat, fish or fish sauce. Just ask. Vegans I would ask also. Some vege dishes arent fully vege. Try their BBQ/Hotpot buffets AFTER you try some à la carte'. Or dont! Either way you will eat well. Been 7 times in two years with friends and loved ones and wanted a hearty review to give finally after 2 years. Last night, we were a table of 8 foodies and experienced much Chinese cuisine and all commented saying it was the best. Using China towns local and imported flavors. Yummy food and lovely staff! We had all you can eat hotpot at £25ish pp. You order 8 items in one round and can order more after your first round, but we were full after our first 😅 Some additional items require an extra charge but things like 羊肉卷 and tofu are all included. You can also make your own personalised dipping sauce using the dip bar! The owner was so nice and friendly. She wasn’t rushing us out the door and recommended the right level of spice for us (mild spicy is still quite spicy I promise!!). It felt really homely and we felt looked after :) A great find on a cold day in manchester :) Would definitely return!

Absolutely delightful! Chinese Hot Pot with all the options. Alicia took us in hand, explained how to make the most of it, advised us on spice/heat levels, (one mild, and One Quite fiery appetite) and we had a fabulous time, and a fantastic meal. 10/10

I was disappointed with the food but the staff was so nice and friendly that i will still leave 4 stars ⭐️ I ordered the corn and chicken soup. It was alright but the chicken had a strange side taste. I also got the lemon duck which is something i never ordered in a Chinese restaurant before but it was the first on the menu so assumed it was a star dish. Unfortunately I was very disappointed with the duck. The sauce was overly sweet and didn’t taste anything like natural lemons but rather like a soda. Furthermore the duck itself was stiff and overcooked and felt like it had been cooked a day before and then just put in batter and cooked for this dish. The rice was ok. Also got a bottled beer. Overall I was sad and disappointed because I was really looking forward to trying out this restaurant especially considering the positive reviews it has.
