Dropped in here on the off chance for some Sunday lunch. Such a warm welcome and really lovely staff. Ordered the roast pork dinners and they were fabulous- tender meat, beautifully cooked veg and excellent crackling.Great value at £10 each. Would def recommend.

Lovely Sunday lunch at this pub. Food is really tasty and always on warm plates. Really reasonably priced too, £12 for the lamb with all the trimmings (delicious) and £10 for beef or pork and all home cooked. I highly recommend it. Service is really good too.

We had a Sunday lunch yesterday for 16 of us and it was brilliant, the food was great and the service was even better Not being from the local area we took a risk booking somewhere just based on the fact it was dog friendly and I’m so glad we did! Would highly recommend

Highly recommended. We enjoyed a date night here by accident as all the other eating places in Spilsby were closed on a Monday night. Friendly staff who were kind and attentive, but not pushy or in your face. Excellent crystal clear Yellowbelly beer (Red Lion is a free house). We both had main meals and they were hot, fresh and of a good size. My gammon steak was one of the nicest I have had in a very long time. Landlord told us all meals cooked in house from scratch, using local produce and meat is from a local butcher. Prices were exceptionally reasonable given the quality. Red Lion was taken over December 2021, so please ignore reviews before then, as they do not truly reflect the current team. Thank you for a lovely evening and we hope to return soon.

The overall vibe of the pub was amazing and the food was amazing. Despite the wait for food, I found it was quite worth. The staff was friendly and I had a great time whilst I was there. Would greatly recommend if you wish to stop by there for a quick pint or to have lunch. 5/5 I will most definitely go there again!

Visited here after seeing the good reviews. Nice traditional pub and the girl behind the bar was very friendly. Waited over 1/2 an hour for food. My husband ordered the cottage pie which was fine, I ordered the liver, which was supposed to come with mash . When it arrived, it had new potatoes with it, when I asked about the mash the response was “ we haven’t got any mash, that is why he has given you new potatoes”. The liver and bacon came in a ceramic pot, there were a lot of dark patches in it, which I fished out, and it would appear they were congealed gravy! There were approx 3 to 4 small chunks of liver, and a few bits of bacon. So ended up just eating the veg and the rest of the gravy in the pot. We did raise this with the waitress, and offered advice, if they don’t have mash, they should let the customer know so that they can choose an alternative. Plus she too was unsure what the congealed jelly like gravy was that I removed from the pot. To be fair they didn’t charge us for the liver, but it was such a shame and such a disappointment.

We popped in for a hot lunch and because of the large choice on the menu, we joked that it would be mass-produced food but we couldn't have been more wrong. I didn't have the nerve to ask the Chef (who served the food himself) but it certainly seemed home-made. Took a little while to arrive which wasn't a problem and may be a price you pay when some stuff is being freshly-prepared. Portions were huge, one main totally filled us up. Will definitely be visiting again.

I went to the Red Lion with a group today and had their Sunday lunch for the first time, but it won't be the last. The food was beautiful, fresh and plentiful I had the beef which was lovely and tender. The chef offers a choice of 3 meats and members of my party had pork and Turkey and commented on how nice it was. The pub is very welcoming with log fires on the go. Staff are courteous and friendly and went the full mile to ensure all our needs were met. I would highly recommend this venue for a delicious and good value meal. Great atmosphere, a proper local with proper pub grub.

Lovely home cooked, pub food. Good portions. All 6 of us enjoyed our food I had chicken tikka half and half, my sister had vegi lasagne, my boys had burgers, niece had a ham and cheese panini, and the smallest had a bit of everything, the only thing we left were chips as there were stacks of them! Nothing was left of the puddings!! Nicely laid out, newly decorated. Covid safe and friendly. We were staying on the campsite and decided to treated ourselves by not cooking, which was a very good choice. If we come camping to linconshire we shall definitely be staying here again! (Campsite was good too)

If we ever pass through the area again, we will definitely come back to this place. Booking was easy, the staff are delightful and helpful, the pub itself is so pretty and feels like a living room. We sat in the back room full of books and quirky flamingo inspired deco, and most importantly, the food was just what we wanted and exceeded our expectations. Just yum! Thank you! What a little discovery.

We visited here for breakfast after a very busy morning packing up our tent to go home after a stay at a nearby campsite (extra points for being dog friendly!). All very hungry there were plenty of options to choose from and even the option to build your own breakfast which was great for my daughter who wouldn’t eat a full breakfast but would still like certain items! The staff were lovely, the service was quick and the food was delicious! Extra shoutout to the iced latte and the big buts breakfast. It was amazing! We will definitely be returning when we are back in Anderby. Thank you!

Spotted from the car park and decided to stop for a coffee. There was some seating outside so perfect for anyone with dogs. It was a beautiful spring day so we also decided to have some cakes and a cheese scone. I have to say the cakes were fab and the cheese scone was the best I have ever had. Can’t wait to visit again. Highly recommended.

After having had a fantastic experience here midweek during the summer, we promised ourselves we would be back for Sunday dinner. We booked by email, which was confirmed within minutes, Howe when we arrived there was no record of the booking. I was able to find the confirmation email. We were told that we could be accommodated but it would have to be in the bar area as there were 3 other bookings which already had restaurant tables reserved. We were advised to pick a table and they would set it up for us. We showed them where we would like to sit and waited for someone to bring some seating to the table. After 10 minutes we were still standing so found a different table which had seats in place. (We had already informed them that my husband was recovering from a broken ankle) Eventually the waitress came and gave us cutlery and placemats but no salt and pepper. She took our meat orders and I asked whether the veg would include cauliflower cheese, as I would like to not have it, as I have an allergy/intolerance. We waited a further half an hour for our meals, which came with the vegetables served on a tray, including the cauliflower cheese. There was only one spoon which was resting in the cheese sauce so I had to request another one. I then dished myself up a spoonful of swede/carrot mash and one broccoli floret. I did try to dish up some cabbage but found that when lifted from the plate, the cabbage came out from under the cauliflower cheese and covered in the sauce, so I had to not have cabbage. After the meal, the waitress came to clear the table. She dropped some vegetables on the tablecloth and asked if we wanted puddings to which I responded yes. After waiting for 38 minutes with no sign of the waitress to clean the table or take our pudding order, we decided to leave. On taking our payment the bar staff asked if everything had been ok, so I mentioned the above. He simply said, ‘sorry about that ‘but the mains were ok?’ I chose not to continue with the conversation, as my husband had overheard the barman say that he was going to rip someone’s head off. We are really disappointed as we had been telling everyone about how good our experience in the summer was. To top it all, there was a very large dog in the area which smelled strongly and a group of young children also came and used the pool table right next to us, despite there being a notice advising that nobody under 16 was allowed to use it. Another customer did point it out but was ignored. One or two little things we could have overlooked/forgiven but unfortunately there were too many today and we won’t be back

An unassuming little place that offers a friendly welcome and excellent, attentive service. It's got a cosy, slightly bio/eco feeling with very interesting plants and an insect hotel outside the door. Menu is limited but more than adequate for a light lunch or afternoon tea. Nice music playing unobtrusively in the background too. A really great touch is their bottomless cup for tea or coffee. Blink and you'll miss this place as you drive along the busy and fast A52 between Boston and Skegness. It's on a cross-roads just after the main Friskney village turn-off travelling NE. But DON'T miss it because it really is a worthwhile pit-stop. Opposite, down the lane towards the Wash, there is some brilliant wild walking.
