First time in Darlington had a great night in here thank you

One of our go to pubs on a night out, karaoke, drinks are very reasonably priced, the atmosphere is fantastic.

Fantastic place to sit and enjoy the fabulous views. Local beer is excellent and the staff are lovely. We will definitely be back.

Absolutely belting pub. Went in with my wife for a few pints it was none stop fun and entertainment. All staff dancing behind the bar and everybody was having a great time. Will definitely be back.

5 of us went for a meal and 2 meals came out, they finished before the next two got their meals and the fifth is still waiting for their meal will not recommend this place for food not enough staff on either

I've been going into the Red Lion since the reopening and it's like a second home to me now. The staff are friendly, and since they started doing food it's just got better and better. I had a hot beef baguette with the amazing chunky chips on my most recent visit and it was fabulous. Tender melt in the mouth beef and thick tasty gravy was phenomenal. I would definitely recommend the food, I have had the Parmos, and burgers over time too and all have been beautifully cooked and presented. This is my go to place for food or even a fun always welcoming Saturday night out. ❤️❤️❤️

After hearing great reviews thought we would give it a try. We ordered roast beef in a bun chips and gravy. Beef was chewy couldnt eat it gravy was lumpy chips were nice to be fair. Barman asked how food was told him awful he said o in what way. So told him he took the plates no apology or even acknowledged what I said!!

Been for Sunday dinner today, and we were very disappointed, The service was very slow and it took 50 minutes to get our dinners. And when they came they were of a poor quality, the beef wasn’t great, and the Yorkshire pudding was small and looked like a frozen one, hardly any gravy and all food was luke warm, and not worth £10.95. I appreciate they have only been doing food for a few months, we have had food during the week, and it was really nice. Looking at it you may need more chefs, because it looked like the kitchen was struggling with the amount of customers. The staff were very apologetic, so can’t fault them, hopefully it will improve.To answer message below booking was for 2.20pm

Nice pub ruined by overloud disco music. Only a dozen customers in at6. 30, couldn't hear ourselves think. Won't be back.

A popular haunt of mine since a young lad , revamped yet still retaining that English style pub with a great atmosphere and nice surroundings . Just one thing in my opinion is the Red Lion sign , he'd look better with the top hat .

Really good to see the Red Lion has reopened after closing down during the pandemic, my wife and I went there on Friday night and it was very nice, the music was a bit loud though, the Red Lion was never a noisy music pub. Still worth a look though.

Was a decent pint and friendly place. Toilets weren't great that's why it's a 4 star but don't be put off the rest off the pub is clean and tidy. Will definitely go back next time we are in Darlington.

Cozy city centre Greene King pub. Good selection of beers on tap at and wines at reasonable prices. Friendly and helpful staff. Perfect spot for watching sports on several large t.v. screens. Also serves a varied menu of classic food dishes. Free WiFi is available.
