Nice little cafe by the river. Quality food and quality service.

Attentive staff, took careful note of diary restrictions and relayed this to the kitchen. No dairy milk available. Warm and friendly. We selected brunch options and everyone was happy with their choice.

Lovely little garden centre, tucked away down a small narrow road. Has everything you would typically expect of a garden centre.

Oh my goodness a tiny little garden centre with a cafe charging London restaurant prices. Heaven forbid if you want to change something you would like different from the be all and end all menu. "Please can I have a strong tea" answer "It brews in the pot" If you like over priced average food with attitude this is for you.

Sat for ages waiting to get served Then found out because we didn't see the sign to be seated they didn't know we were there our own fault for not reading signs. Food was lovely

Nice plants, well looked after, many species for all areas of the garden. Sell quality cards and special gifts. Compost , plant pots etc . And to finish the visit a tea room on side of river Calder to enjoy a drink etc. Great visit, will recommend

What a super find! We spent a lovely couple of hours at the garden centre today. We ate in the cafe and were offered a table inside or out and with sun, or shade🤗. We opted for outside as the weather is beautiful and we had a gorgeous river view.. The service was great and the food delicious. All the staff are friendly and helpful... Thank you so much ❤, we will definitely be returning.

Lovely garden centre with a cafe by the side of the Calder River. Helpful and pleasant staff. Would definitely recommend.

First off you sit outside should you take your dog, not that impressed with the quality of their food. Staff are very friendly.

What a charming garden centre this is. No lie, I left the place in such a good mood. My wife and I stopped and had some lunch that overlooked a stream. The food and coffee was very nice and the customer service was fantastic. There is a very welcoming vibe about the place. I 100% recommend a visit and treat yourself to a nice lunch. I will be returning again in a few weeks' time.

Not the largest garden centre. The road into the carpark is pitted with deep potholes and parking is somewhat limited. A reasonable choice of reasonable plants on sale. Has an amazing cafe tucked away at the back

Had a really nice full breakfast here with my friend great riverside cafe . Staff friendly and food very good will return and have afternoon tea sometime cakes looked amazing.

Went today to buy a couple of troughs and some large plants. The assistant was lovely and really helpful. She was knowledgeable and walked around with us until we found the right things. A credit to the centre. Thankyou.

I have just discovered this lovely garden centre. Not huge, but has most of what's needed to tend to your garden. Ate in the cafe, and it was reasonably priced, and tasted delicious. Cafe situated in a beautiful position alongside the river. I will definitely be visiting again.

Having heard how good this place was we decided to make a hour trip. Unfortunately we were very disappointed in the selection of plants and flowers and the quality. Small selection of houseplants . Overpriced gift shop and very expensive bird food section same products a lot cheaper elsewhere . Cafe was closed . No refreshments available even with the heatwave! Quite a dusty place could really do with a clean. Very dusty till area and stock was filthy . Wouldn't hurry back.

It's such a cosy little garden centre with loads of amazing plants to choose from! The staff are such lovely people and the cafe is super nice. There's also some cute gifts and things to get. Only thing was that it was a bit tricky finding a parking space!

When I went it was really busy and the parking was a problem, but it's a lovely garden centre and the cafe is lovely with views over the river, food was good too. All in all a lovely friendly place

Plenty of choice, very helpful and knowledgeable staff always around. The Cafe by the river has lovely food from the expected to a little bit different. Hot food served hot, waiting staff helpful. Would recommend a visit.

Lots of plants and herbs cafe looked nice but rather crowded so didn't go in there.

Review re: restaurant, the food is very good quality but the service was awful, I know they were fairly busy, but tables that came after us got both orders taken and food served before us, food came after 50odd minutes - some of it, had to ask for cutlery, had to ask again for cutlery, rest of food arrived 10 mins later, the staff never asked how our meal was and everything seemed an effort on their behalf. That was the third visit, things haven't improved, we won't be back, sorry.

I am not commenting on the garden centre itself. I am leaving a review due to my annoyance of travelling to the garden centre yesterday to find it was closed. This wouldn't have been a problem if your website had said that you would be. However, the website clearly stated you were open yesterday, only to find on arrival you weren't. I imagine several other motorists had a similar annoyance as there were 4 other cars arriving at the same time we did, only to have turn around in the carpark and leave. I think it would be advisable to ensure your website is correct.

I’ve been here 3 times and had three different items now. So here is my full review. (This is a cafe review not a garden centre review) First the pros: 1. The place is gorgeous when you sit outside by the river. Thệ scenery is beautiful, inside is nice also but slightly too loud. 2. The staff are lovely and welcoming and I have no issues with them. 3. The food is to die for, it’s so tasty, the burger is one of the best I have had. Now the cons: 1. I went for afternoon tea with a few friends. It’s dissatisfying, it comes on slate plates without a pot of tea. One of my friends didn’t have a cup of tea or coffee and had a juice and they was charged for that juice even though they didn’t have a hot drink which they paid for in the afternoon tea bundle. 2. The thing that ị actually for rather disgusting is that we ordered a lemonade for £3.30. It came and it was just a single can of r whites. That is an absolute joke and a complete rip off, I was shocked. 3. The food is so overpriced for the size and the side salad may as not be there it’s pathetic. So in summary if you are struggling with the cost of living this is not a place to come, it’s very pricey

Great choice of plants 👌 and good quality too. The owner was very helpful. The site is accessible for chair users. Shame I was too late for coffee and cake but I will definitely return.

Friendly staff and fabulous things in worth a visit

We only had coffee there, but found it expensive. Two regular cappuccinos, and one medium slice of cake, for £11.45. Compare that to Loom Loft, The Emporium, Holmes Mill, all in Clitheroe, and TasteBuds in Whalley, and it's very pricy. All those places charge £2-3 less than Read Garden Centre for the same. I know costs are increasing, but you have to be competitive. The coffees and cake were fine, but no better than anywhere else. Doubt we'll be going back there in a hurry.

Ordered bacon brie and cranberry sandwich on brown bread. Arrived on white with 2 thin slivers of bacon...bit too silly priced at £9 + for what I received. Wife asked for cooked salmon on white bread which came on brown bread. Although very tasty, would have been nice to have received what we asked for.

A gem of a place. Beautiful setting, delicious food friendly helpful staff. A really lovely experience.

We have been here twice in the last few weeks, both times we ate in the cafe, the food is absolutely delicious, and views over the river beautiful! They also have a good selection of plants. Both the plants, and food are very reasonably priced.

Very expensive. The portion size, quality of produce and the basic cooking was not reflected in the charged price. Iced coffee was extortionate more expensive than Starbucks. We won't be returning at £60 for 3 adults and 1 child.

Small garden centre with limited choice. Patrons appear to go for the cafe which is riverside and there is always a queue.

Well worth a visit, they also have a lovely café, nice little gift shop, staff all very helpful.

Stumbled across this place and what a cracking little place. Nice select in the garden centre and the cafe is great, good food and good service.

Staff very friendly and welcoming. Prompt service with good fresh food. The location next to the river is so relaxing. Will definitely be going back again

Good got everything I needed at a reasonable price

We visited on 21st June on a very hot day got to the cafe for afternoon tea at 2-30pm only to be told they close at 3pm and have finished serving. We were extremely thirsty it was very hot, can't quite believe a cafe has to close at a time when it's afternoon tea time and a garden centre closes at 4pm, hence the 2 star rating we never had a chance to drink/eat.

Go here quite often with my family. Great atmosphere, great cafe and huge range of products. Really enjoy going!
