Rayuela in Ealing

I was thinking long how would I describe this restaurant as a person who has lived in Spain for years and has a Spanish partner. The concept of Spanish cuisine, especially as tapas , the flavors and ingredients didn’t carry out the outcome of fine dining experience that we were expecting. The atmosphere and service were dull and with the price of the à la carte the experience was disappointing. I’ve visited a lot of Spanish restaurants in London and Ealing that offered much better quality and service price wise .

Amazing food as always! Joao and the team were brilliant at explaining the concept of the menu. Food and service was top notch. We opted for all of the option 2 & 3s - a selection of option 4 dishes and our mains. It was the perfect amount of food for the group and great knowledge on the cuts of meat, style of dishes and history surrounding them.

I have been to Rayuela before and from food/drink point of view it was great. However my recent experience is rather disappointing, I called recently to make the reservation for 5 persons and I was told that I need to book online through the app. I was told specifically that app doesn't allow for overbooking. To my surprise the same person called me couple of hours later to inform me that my booking was cancelled as the system made error and all they have left is table for 2. Then I got the email from Fork that they thank me for letting the restaurant know that I changed my plans and that I cancelled myself -which is totally wrong and couldn't be further away from the truth. I believe that they have some preference list and give some customers the right to book and skip the queue. Left me with not much choice for my Friday dinner unfortunately.

The food is fantastic, staff are welcoming and friendly and the environment is very clean.

The ideal place in London to enjoy good wine and excellent ham. You can't leave without trying the cheesecake.

Does not correspond to what is advertised. Very noisy. Having lived next door since yesterday, I won't go back there again. Drives consumption, expensive for what we eat. Change of ownership??

Brilliant food, first rate welcome, nothing too much effort for the staff. The place to go in west London for jamón ibérico. Very highly recommended

honestly is way way too expensive！！！！ why the hell is so expensive with that very very little portion of paella？ paella for 2 people cost 47pounds but for me it looks like barely for one people。the food isn't that good quality

A lovely birthday celebration at Rayuela on Sunday. Thank you to all the team at Rayuela who ensured that we had a great time with delicious food (Tuna Tartare and Roast Lamb), fabulous sparkling Spanish wine (a great recommendation by our waiter) and first-class service as always. We will be back again soon.

The food is average, not terrible but not worth the price point. Even for London this is an expensive restaurant and there are many far better tapas restaurants in and around town. The atmosphere is rather soulless. Wouldn’t recommend.

On telling my friend i was dining at Rayuela she shared that her business partner had the best steak of his life at Rayuela. And he knows a good steak 🥩 Pleased to report that we had a fabulous 60th birthday dinner. The food, service and ambience were all perfect. For myself i had the sirloin & it did indeed knock my socks off. Great to see Dickens Yard coming alive. Try it. You wont regret it !

Hugely overpriced and nothing to shout about. Nouvelle cuisine size plates, nothing was that inspiring. Of the 4 tapas restaurants we know in Ealing this is the one we would not visit again. Even the Padron peppers were disappointing. With the prices on offer you would be better getting a flight to Spain for dinner and actually have some good authentic food. Staff also quite rude. Avoid

Excellent restaurant. Food absolutely outstanding. Chefs tacos followed by pork pluma with a nice glass of red. The service was spot on also. Highly recommend this restaurant as one of the best in Ealing.

If you are looking for delicious food then you don't have to look any further. Every ingredient of the dishes was amazing. I highly recommend it

We had a fantastic time. The staff is super friendly, the wine and food delicious (and authentic). Would absolutely recommend their house wine, cheese croquette and meat dishes. The place is extremely cosy-perfect for both small and larger groups.

We love what Miguel and his team are doing at Reyuela: delicious food and superb wines served in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The food is authentically Spanish, and only the finest ingredients are used (some of which can be purchased from their sister Tapas/ Wine Bar, Reineta). Miguel is building a true community of foodies and wine lovers in the heart of Ealing. Enhorabuena!

I found the experience very good but the oxtail paella dish just about covered the bottom of the dish with rice. And also the price is was to expensive.

Everything was perfect just until the owner turned up. He forgot the order of one Coca-Cola, to bring 2 new knives when changing plates. and he didn’t accept that we complained about the octopus where there was clearly sand in the octopus. The staff was PERFECT ❤️

Very disappointed Citrus salad not citrusy Tacos were supposed to be lamb but tasted like tuna Steak was not cooked properly- it was completely cold inside Cheesecake tasted off (have eaten and lovely before) Chips and croquettes were great But so disappointed Service lovely as always. As a lover of Spanish food from all regions Spain, a Spanish speaker and regular traveller there, I like to think I know a bit of what good Spanish food looks like - sadly this came up a bit short for me, although my dining companion was far more impressed. Good oxtail croquettes - albeit only 2 between 2 - and good squid, but patatas bravas were flaccid and doused in non-descript sauce. Service ok but a somewhat condescending at times: "you haven't ordered any mains". No, we haven't. We don't want any "mains" thanks... Mocktails MASSIVELY overpriced, essentially fruit juice for £9. Meanwhile there was evidently some sort of restriction on tap water which was only provided when asked for, and even then by the half glass. Prices were typical for London. Alas no ambience on a Saturday lunchtime but not helped by drearyish September weather and the rather soulless feel that Dickens Yard tends to provide - which was hardly their fault. Not sure I'll rush back but I absolutely do wish them well and can see that others have had a far more rewarding experience.

Consistently good food, a rarity in Ealing!

Slow and inattentive service and very overpriced and ridiculously small portions for the money, the food what there was of it was good however.

Brilliant evening at Rayuela, food, service and atmosphere were exceptional. We had a lovely evening trying multiple dishes, oxtail croquette, raw salmon and tacos were all superb starters for three of us, followed by rabbit paella and lamb chops. Dessert was the Tiramisu drink - delicious!!! Highly recommend Rayuela to experience great food in a relaxing environment.

The staff was not attentive , service very slow, the lighting was not cosy and not conducive to a pleasant experience. Salmon was not good. Disappointing.

Have been meaning to come here since it opened (having eaten in the sister restaurant Reinata many times). Absolutely did not disappoint. The sort of meal where I had to ask my husband to stop talking so I could fully appreciate how delicious it was. As a pescetarian, so often the choices are limited, but here the fish starter (anchovies) and main (mackerel) were unbelievably good. Best meal I’ve had for ages - would absolutely recommend and will be back

The flavours of the food were excellent but the majority of the roast suckling pig was bone. Two of us ordered the suckling pig and one of the pieces in particular was very short on meat and at least 75% bone. Given the price point this was very disappointing.

What a find. A Michelin Star deserving food experience in Ealing.

This is my second time here and the experience - food, service, wine - is just as excellent as the first time. This is a restaurant that cares about its food and wines and is happy to share their enthusiasm with their customers.

My family and I had an incredible meal at Rayuela on Sunday, the Suckling Pig was especially delicious. I'm looking forward to returning to try the weekday menu. Thank you!

Very long waiting for service, very high prices, specialy for the wines, although of good quality, food OK, but nothing more. Overall the price far exceeds the experience, difficult to recommend , staff pleasant, but this restaurant does not warrant the extremely high prices, and the mediocre service and ambience, pity as I wanted to like it.

We went to Rayuela on a Saturday evening for dinner, as a family of 3. The restaurant was full to the brim, but the staff worked really hard to ensure we got a seat, and they were very polite and swift about it! We were seated outdoors, and it was nice and quiet out there, but the restaurant was quite busy inside. The food was excellent, the dishes had some of the most beautiful presentation I’ve seen in London. The food was great both for the eyes and for the mouth! Some of our favourites were the Truffle and Cheese „Arepas,” as well as the Bluefin Tuna Steak in the garlic/pistachio sauce. We were served by several staff members, all of whom were lovely, but we spent the most time in Joab’s company. Joab was very polite, swift to assist in all of our requests, and also gave us a brilliant wine recommendation that made us order the whole bottle in the end! He had a witty sense of humour that we loved, and he also impressed us by sharing a few words in our native language. Great experience overall, and the drinks selection (particularly the wine) is excellent.

Great food, fantastic service!!

I had a lunch set. The bread was hot with a special source. I was thinking to ask for 2nd bread. The vegetable tempura as a starter was so delicious, also with 2 different sources. Their Paella was so tasty with lots of seafood too. I am truly surprised for how well the dishes are prepared and presented. I am so glad to find such a wonderful restaurant. I feel it’s with Michelin quality and service. Well worth the money!! 22£ comes with coffee in the end, perfect!! I must go back again soon.

This place is meh for the price point. Overall the food wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t amazing. The olive tapenade and the ox tail croquettes were really good, however most of the other dishes were lacklustre. The seafood dishes, octopus + bulgur wheat and shrimp + monkfish rice, needed more seafood in the dish. The lambchops were tender, but nothing stood out about them. The service was poor. There were 3 instances where we are asked if we wanted drink, which felt a bit pushy. The waitstaff felt slow, and uninviting. It felt like our conversations were interrupted often for unimportant queries. This is a nitpicky point, but our main course setting was placed incorrectly. I only would write about this because the price point of the restaurant is high enough to expect this attention to detail. We had mentioned that it was our anniversary in the reservation, but there wasn’t a small gesture made to acknowledge this, as other restaurants at this price point would. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone as the price point is too high for other alternatives. You are able to get tastier food, with a better service experience, in central London for a similar price.

Came to Rayuela as a result of Giles Coren’s Times review. We were meeting family who live in Canary Wharf. We were not disappointed! At £22 for three course lunch this place is very good value, and the food offering was excellent. Lovely dining area and very good service.

Fantastic food, wonderful enthusiastic service in a relaxed atmosphere. Special mention for the tuna (possibly the best I have ever eaten - perfectly prepared) and the melt-in-the mouthTxulleta steak - neither are cheap but well worth it. So great to have such a high quality restaurant in Ealing.

The food was ok, very small portions , very, very expensive for the amount of food that you get. Very professional and polite stuff. I think it’s one of those places that you only go ones, and that’s it.

This place is authentically Spanish. The owner hailing from Salamanca is clearly deeply passionate about creating the best possible iteration of Spanish meat and seafood. The black acorn ham was absolutely superb, The pork, blue fin tuna, aubergine with mint and feta were all exceptional. He also has an excellent and unusual list of sherries. Pricing was fair. Well worth the trip.

Quite overpriced for the quality of food and considering the location. We ordered padron peppers, cazon, croquettes, tacos, secreto and bravas and none of them were excellent. The basque cheese cake was probably the best. Wine list and specially wine by the glass price is quite high and not too varied, starting of at £10.50/glass red wine. Either the price needs to come down or quality needs to go up for it to be worth it.

Came here for the set lunch on a Friday. Probably the only time in my life that I've had a three course meal and had to eat afterwards. Sorry but a grown man needs more than one muscle and one prawn and a few spoonfuls of rice when sharing a paella, these guys would be laughed out of Spain. Unfortunately the waiter was more interested in selling us wine than feeding us. Really wanted to like this place as ealing doesn't have that many options, but unfortunately, probably won't be returning.

We had a fantastic time for our 10 years wedding anniversary. The food was excellent (Tuna and Octopus), the cocktails were great and the service was very professional. We'll definitely come back, as the experience worth it.

This is one of the best restaurants in London and a real neighbourhood gem. It's all about the great food and wine of Spain, especially Castile and the surrounding region. Miguel, the owner, is passionate and driven, with a great team around him. The food is truly exceptional - fresh, full of flavour, immaculately sourced and prepared. Miguel is a great believer in supporting Ealing and the surrounding area, he is always looking to connect people, business and ideas around great food and wine. 100% recommended (but I hope I can still get the occasional table!)

This is one of the worst Spanish restaurants I have ever been in obviously the other reviews that people have written are either family or friends the paella was burnt so couldn’t eat half of eat the starters were poor and we only drank water and for this bad food we had to pay £180 what a joke

Where to start? Firstly, the positive reviews have certainly come from those who have not visited Spain. I refer only to flavours and cooking, not prices. Also, they had some people sharing tables, very odd. Secondly, there is a strange system where the manager insists on taking orders, but can't quite keep up, leaving people waiting left, right and center. He himself was the main reason for the poor experience, he managed to be condescending and useless at the same time. I thought the presentation was beautiful but many of the dishes lacked depth, the simplest dishes were the best, I could recommend the pluma, but not the carrots underneath that hadn't touched boiling water in their short lives. A final warning that the Basque cheesecake isn't sweet, it is intensely savoury and cheesy in the most unbalanced and unpleasant way. And I love strong cheese! Overall, couldn't recommend and can only imagine it's busy because of lack of choice.

I went there with my family, the 26/05/2024 and my waiter Lucas was awesome, he took care of us throughout our time there, the food made me remember my days in Spain! I will 100% go back.

It was delicious and would get 5 stars for everything except value for money on some items (£10 for the anchovy starter which was one bite). Although the croquettes were good, again it was one bite (two per portion would be more generous). Having said that, we would book again.

We can’t recommend Rayuela enough. A group of 8 had dinner Saturday night (including a native Spaniard) and we all raved about the food, service and restaurant. We will definitely go back and for my money this is the best restaurant in Ealing.

One of the most lovely dining experiences I've had in a long time, exquisite food served by staff who are clearly passionate about their business and the food and drinks they're offering, all delivered in a relaxed, welcoming environment. I would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone looking for something a little bit special (and it won't break the bank!), it's worth travelling to Ealing for!

Best food in Ealing. Michelin star waiting to happen. We're local and whenever we eat out this is at the top of the list. Book, as walk-ins are usually a wait. For good reason. There are some one star reviews about the service, some real Karens out there let me tell you, you get to know them you see their passion. But most importantly, TASTE THE FOOD! (And the insane cocktails, shoutout to Joab)

Ate here last night, two couples. The food was outstanding, interesting and innovative, and we loved every dish. The tuna (a special this week) was particularly good. Wines and cocktails excellent. The staff were relaxed, not too formal and attentive. Service dropped one star as they forgot one of the starters and had to be reminded (a very small issue) and the red wine we ordered came far too cold and had to be warmed up (a bigger problem especially given the price of the bottle). The location and dining space are nothing special but the restaurant was full and there was a nice atmosphere. We paid £150 a head including some expensive wine and service at 13.5%, so it’s probably a special occasion sort of place only. But overall we had a great evening, and would highly recommend Rayuela especially for the high quality of the food.

Today I had tried tuna ajo blanco de pistacho. It has been amazing! This is an amazing quality food and service. Thanks to the chef Andres.
