I was craving something spicy, and I’m glad I stumbled upon this cozy little restaurant—it hit the spot! The food was good overall, though the gyoza tasted store-bought and is deep-fried rather than the usual steam-fried style. Despite that, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service from all the staff was excellent. One thing to note: they only accept cards. Definitely worth a visit for a ramen fix!

If I could give 0 I would have, only reason its one star is cause if the food - was okay, on the salty side I would say. I never mention names but this is the most horrendous service I've had from all my experience of being a foodie. I belive our server is called kirsty based on the name on our bill (the girl with tattoos on her arms) Side note:during the stay the place had 5 table, 2 tables was near paying off their bill. And we were never rude or noisy, we were just so hungry. I'll give the list of things that went wrong: • We order 2 snacks (edamame & wakame salad) with our 3 mains and 1 cocktail and rest just tap water. Only 1 snack arrived and then few mins later our mains arrived, it took me, to chase up for my salad after 5 mins hoping she would remember, but didn't. Then she screamed it to kitchen so I assume she forgotten my order, although I was the 1st one to place my order. But here the ridiculous part it took her at least 15-20mins to get her colleague to tell me they had none in the building. (She was the nice one, she tired to help and offer make a different salad) but I was already done with my main course already. • At that moment, I also had to chase up the drinks with this lovely girl. Cause we still haven't gotten them. And here's the point, the ramen was on the little salt side so it made me very thirsty. And kirsty didn't give us our water we asked. This was like nearly 35 mins into our stay. We didn't mind the cocktail being late but how can someone forget tap water. As hospitality worker I've forgotten give customer water but max 10min not nearly as bad as her. Plus it was her colleague that give us the drink not even her. • To be honest at that time I wasn't annoyed at her but what ticked me off was the end. She aggressive put down the bill while my 2 friends was still eating the big bowl of edamame beans (like maybe halfway through them) I was gonna ask for the bill when they were closer to the end of the bowl but she handed it beofre I asked. Then on the bill, the salad I never got was still on it which was fine. I asked nicely to remove it and then when she asked anything else, I asked the service charge to be removed as honestly how was that acceptable. Maybe if the place was busy and everyone running around. • Then she made a face when I asked it to be removed. Then this were it ticked me off - getting payment from us was so unprofessional. Shoving the card machine in my face, and as soon as we finish paying she quote on quote "I need table back" and walks away. We were gonna leave anyway after the girls finish their edamame but was that was my final straw that made me leave a review. • I honestly wasn't gonna with the things that happened with our food and drinks but this unbelievable behaviour. She had 2 larger table empty, if there was a booking or something you could have asked nicely, and we would have been fine to leave on time. •Also when she was taking our order didn't mention the egg was extra cost, would have been nice to say it when asking if you want egg. And the flavour of the edamame too was a little shocking to find out on the bill for the extra cost. But this is also can be our fault not investigating the menu more indepth. So overall the 1 star for service is for the lovely gal that tired to help and the cooks. Not for her. I really didn't want to pay for this at all £56.70 for such a unpleasant experience.

It was very unpalatable, the ramen was poorly made and extremely salty, the soup base had no flavor of tonkotsu, the barbecued pork was too spicy and spicy, and the worst part was that there was a mandatory 10% service charge, and the waiter just gave it to me when there was no service. She served tap water and then didn't take care of it. Does this require such a high service charge? It's not Western food and she was asked to serve it one by one. If you don’t want to waste the 15-20 fat people in your pocket, stay away from lightning. ps responded to the store, it’s true that I ordered spicy noodles, but it doesn’t mean you can’t make it delicious. It’s purely salty with low-quality chili noodles, and it doesn’t even have a certain scent of chili. Secondly, no one told me that I can refuse the service charge. On the spot Failure to inform is considered robbery~ Another ps: I called her to fight. The shop owner charged her a high service fee but only provided tap water. She showed no remorse. She also had a bad attitude and made no apology for the taste of their shop. What can you do to me? Such a look, everyone!

I happened upon this restaurant while walking around with my partner and dog. I loved that they are dog-friendly even in such a small place! We were lucky to be accepted as walk-ins. We ordered food and drinks, everything was great. The staff was helpful and although they were really busy everything was exactly as ordered and quick. The chashu don was excellent and we enjoyed the lychee saketini. They charge a small service charge in the bill, which is completely fine and we were happy to pay as we had a great time.

We ate out as a group. With high expectations for taste and ambience. Given how hungry we were, keen to dig into the ramens we ordered. Needles to say, the ramens were some of the saltiest we have ever tried. Pineapple juice was refreshing on the other hand. What’s baffling was the fact Boiled eggs were extra at a cost with ramen? Ambience was great.👍 P.s Not a Great fan of the automatic SERVICE CHARGE thats being added nowadays to the bill. Good to try once.

My husband and I loved our lunch here. The Veggie katsu was delicious with plenty of tasty katsu sauce. The rice was perfectly cooked and had a nice flavor. After waiting half an hour to take our order, we then waited another hour to receive our food. The server did not apologise on delay of our order, or our food. Unfortunately she clearly couldn't manage the ten seat cover, or the kitchen couldn't manage the tables and fulfilling Uber eats orders. Restaurant should choose do they want to prioritise sit in customers or Uber eats. Food is alright but waiting so long ruins the experience. A mandatory 10% service charge is added to the bill, which was an insult given that the service was non existent and actually what I considered rude. I've been ordering from here and coming here for years but after this experience I won't be coming back.

Customer service was absolutely horrendous. The staff that were on were incredibly rude to us and other customers. The service time as well after asking for the check was not acceptable, we had to ask again and it was clearly such an inconvenience to the staff member as she practically chucked the card reader on to the table. It's a shame, the food is lovely but the service was disgusting, which also spoiled the atmosphere. Not going back.

Avoid going here as long as you know you will like your dish 100%. I ordered the Sansho Pepper Ramen and my advice would be to avoid if you don’t want your dish to taste of soap. I told the server that i really didn’t like the taste as it was too strong for me and his reply in a very rude manner was ‘what do you want me to do about it?’ i asked if i could swap for a rice dish and he said he would ask his manager. The manager came over and told me that there was nothing she could do, couldn’t take it off the bill or swap it for another dish but proceeded to tell me it was her favourite dish which i felt was pretty irrelevant in that moment. I was made to pay £15 for a bowl of ramen that tasted like soap and the ramen mt sister got tasted of nothing. Considering ramen is their main selling dish, it’s a shame 2 of them were very below average. The customer service here was extremely disappointing - at any other restaurant they would do whatever they could to make sure you left happy and full so they would get return business but here they clearly only care about profit. Also if you’re looking for a quick meal, i would avoid here as it took over 30 minutes for our food to come out.

Firstly, ramen is so delicious. I visited most of ramen places in Glasgow and Edinburgh, the noodles and soups are best. I loved Devil noodles. That was so deliciously spicy. (I strongly recommend you add EGG). Moreover, Japanese style vibe was very interesting. However, Chicken karaage is bit hard and takoyaki… please serve in more bigger plate. Katsuobushi spilled everywhere and gingers sticked on my takoyaki and taste bad. Lastly, I don't think the hall's staff are being managed well. I arrived there in a good mood and waited to take my order, but I didn't feel good even before the meal because the staff didn't come to take my order after a long wait.

Probably the worst Japanese in Glasgow!!! Only two slice of meat for tonkotsu ramen?? And they used brown rockhard noodles for ramen, plus you get more spring onions & veg than noodles in the bowl, I don’t know what to say really, but it was such a horrible experience. The place was so tiny only hold up 5 tables and you get people walking past you every minute, I wouldn’t even call it a restaurant. And they charge a sneaky service charge at the end, so paid over 15 quid for a bowl of rubbish. I gave extra stars for service as the front girl did try really hard to please every customer in such an uncomfortable environment.

Waited 40 minutes for 2 bowls of tonkatsu ramen, Cabbage topping was microwaved - it had the distinct cold spots only chef Mike can recreate; The broth had barely any flavour, overcompensating instead with just salt. The egg was missing from both bowls, despite the waitress taking initiative in asking if we wanted them. When we pointed this to her she shouted over to the kitchen the order for our eggs loud enough to ensure we heard she wasn't pleased with our demands. A few minutes later we received our long-coveted soft boiled eggs in a separate bowl which sort of defeats the purpose of the yolks mixing in with the broth for that rich creamy satisfying texture, as by that point I had finished over half of my bowl of ramen. Also, an egg costing £2.50 is downright comedy. Great presentation and decorum, but lacking in pretty much everything else.

Don’t let that put you off great find for me and I’ll be back for sure. The fries were spicy in first taste but the heat didn’t ramp up. Starters and snacks are really good and transport you back to Japan (although please increase the size of the slice of lemon/lime for the kaarage, i dont even know how you cut it that small). Good service and cute restaurant. However, the sansho pepper ramen we had was really really bad. Shockingly presented, bland yet way too spicy (with boring chili heat not numbing sansho pepper), filled with watery baby corn and tiny bits of dry chicken floating around. Honestly worse than a packet ramen. Maybe their other styles are better I don't know. The cocktails were bad for their price (£10). We were also really disappointed that the Suntory Highball (£6 on website) was actually £10 as well and was a tiny lukewarm drink. Japanese highballs should be lovely big cold fizzy drinks you have instead of a beer! All in all, £95 for two people, should have just had a beer and some starters.

The best ramen I've had in Glasgow. Such a cosy interior. I forgot how small the place is in Ashton lane so I didn't have a reservation. Luckily the bar table was available so we were able to sit in. Strongly advise to book in advance so you don't end up disappointed if there's no space!

Always amazing food, and the staff are always nice... But! I don't understand why a "service charge" is added automatically to the bill. Shouldn't we get a choice whether we give a tip? I think it's quite cheeky.

What an incredibly decorated little ramen shop on Ashton lane in Glasgow! We were greeted with the warm smell of ramen as soon as we walked in. The atmosphere was cozy and the food was incredible. On this visit we had ordered Katsu curry, Ramen Gyoza and fries. Portions were worth the price. We also ordered Japanese melon and Grape sodas which were delicious and sweet. There is plenty of other options to chose from on the menu and if you are in the area please visit. We were lucky to get a seat because as soon as we walked in other customers followed so booking a table is advised to avoid disappointment.

The ramen is amazing, but when I booked it said I would have an hour and a half at the table, which is incredibly reasonable. Unfortunately, we were then told, not half an hour after sitting down, that we would need to leave so more customers could come - this was unfair, as I had booked the table and had barely put my spoon down after eating - I felt very rushed and not very welcome

Wow! Last night my boyfriend and I had the best ramen we’ve had in the U.K.! The place is super small and cosy (please book in advance as you don’t want to miss out on eating here!) Delicious food and an impressive amount of vegan options too. I definitely recommend trying the homemade yuzu drink! We will definitely be back.

Visited the ashton lane restaurant. Food was amazing and the service was great. I loved how small it was, really kept the vibe intimate. I do recommend booking a table just to be on the safe side. I went during the week day at around 8pm and managed to get a seat luckily. Would visit again for sure!

I do not recommend this restaurant. I ordered gyozas and I could see that they are industrial, the same ones sold in Asian supermarkets. I could say you the brand, but I don't want to promote anything here. They sell 5 gyosas for £7 from the freezer section when the supermarket sells a packet for £2. Don't go eat there. Also, FYI: note that they charge extra for eating outside.

Review is a little late but we were on vacation in Glasgow in May, we ate at Yiamas three times. Fantastic every time. Best place to get a fresh salad and the lamb was amazing. the owners recognized us on the third visit and had a great chat. food and service were top notch. They were even accommodating with giving us a table suitable for my fathers wheel chair.

We had a set menu and everything we ate was delicious. Good alcoholic and non alcoholic options. A must is getting some of the snacks with your meal. Beautiful restaurant to sit in and staff helpful with dietary requirements. We will be back to experience the full menu.
