Railway Fryer in Newtownabbey

I use the Railway Fryer on a regular basis. Staff are friendly and ready to assist. Food is well prepared, hot and tasty. Home deliveries are speedily made. Prices are comparable to other establishments. For those who haven't tried it, give it a shout.

Ive been ordering in here 2 times only and I was really disgusted with short white hair middle age woman who took my order . I didint know what to order so i was looking at the menu like every normal person . She told something to other staff memeber and they all looked at me . I dont know what she sayed but it wasnt good i guess . They looked at me ant laughed. There were some other people behind me , and I felt really humiliated. I was disgusted by her attitude . She didint had any patience , she kept asking me “ What do you want” . I felt humiliated all people start staring at me . Whener i asked her if i can get a wrap she start to shout at me “ what wrap ?? What chicken ?? ? With her rude face and disgusting attitude . Food is great , but that woman destroyed the rest of my day . Absolutely disgusted with people like her . And the last thing , whenever local person comes to order shes smiling and talk to them really nicely but whenever she jas to talk with an immigrant she starts to become rude and disgusting. I hope shes gonna get this and she will understand how disgusting she is .

the food is good enough there portion are very small am a grown man I got 2 sasauges they were very tiny something like you'd give to a child of about 5 years of age they weren't any cheaper for the size of portion you get won't be back

I have recently been going on a journey for the nicest fish in newtownabbey. I guess I have the the ONE!!!!! The fish was most fabulous and golden and crispy but there was a downfall….. I went to eat my fish in my car but couldn’t as the face my the fish in a tiny box… OH DEAR…… my proposition is that maybe it is served in a big box with enough room to cut said fish and eat my golden chips with no hassle Many thanks Roy😏

Food is absolutely delis. If you haven't tried the manhattan chicken I would strongly advise you to try it.

If you live in Newtownabbey and Get from another chippy because of habit then you’re missing out. Hands down the best chip shop in the area. They also use biodegradable packaging which they must be commended for as not many takeaways do.

Recently visited railway fryer. Customer service was excellent and food cooked to perfection. Worth noting you may wait a while but who wants reheated food. All freshly cooked so worth the wait. There is a huge variety on menu. If your in Newtownabbey I would highly recommend.

We recently moved to the area and this was our first time using this chippy. We were impressed with their website, the extensive menu and the ease to order online and personalise any part of the order. Our Son has a severe nut allergy and we mentioned this when placing the order, the staff came straight back to us giving us the required information and reassurance, they are obviously all over this!! Next bonus was a discount for ordering online 👍 when I arrived to collect the food the staff member straightaway identified that we had notified them about the nut allergy and went through everything again, leaving me totally reassured that we should have no concerns. Finally the food was off the highest quality, cooked freshly and enjoyed by everyone!! We will definitely go back, and would definitely recommend 10/10 this is now our local 👍 we will use the delivery service next time 👍

Just back. Been a few weeks since I was last there. Got the usual fish supper. Fish ok batter a bit on the thick side but the chips accompanying were a disgrace. Such a small portion. They have replaced the carton they put the chips now in with a small paper one. Maybe it was the server, a new girl I hadn’t met before but be small scoop of chips a disgrace. Normally they would have put a few scoops of chips in, then added a couple of extra on top. Not now about a dozen chips. Yet they had the cheek to increase prices. I for one won’t be back.

Had reviewed this establishment before and didn't give a great review but heard it had been taken over by new owners so thought I would give it another go. I'm so glad I did, best cod I have ever had, large in size with a lovely crispy batter, I struggled to finish it. Other half had pastie and chips which was devoured. Have to say no 1 chippie in this area. Give it a try and see for yourself you won't be disappointed.

Quite often the food from here is pretty good however I have had well undercooked chips on occasions and once had an uncooked fish (batter was crispy but the fish was raw which makes me think the fillets had been frozen then not thawed out properly before being battered and fried)

We don’t eat a lot of takeaway food, but the lovely smell of frying in traditional beef dripping was too much one evening as we got off the train at Mossley, so we had haddock and chips. You may have to wait 10 or 15 minutes if you want fish, as it takes a while to fry – but it is worth the wait. The fish was noticeably fresher than we’ve found elsewhere in the area, and we really couldn’t fault the whole meal – absolutely worth five stars for a chippy.

Been here many times over the years. Just amazing. Great service! Great chip shop!!! Definitely give it a go!

Having recently visited (& reviewed) another chippy in the area, and been disappointed to say the least, this place was a revelation. You'd think the better it was, the more I could write – but no. The haddock and chips is just perfect. FRESH fish – other chippies take note; the, crisp batter; lovely chips; and fried in DRIPPING. Perfect.

I would highly recommend this fish and chip shop in the new mossely estate in newtownabby it is spotless the staff are very friendly and it is not greasy the batter is beautiful so if ur looking a take away go there

I got a fish supper from here earlier and it was definitely worth the wait. Got there early, ordered it and didn't have to wait too long. The batter was crisp and chips nice big thick ones, a good Chippy!!

Its fish and chips as it should be delisous get a treat their reguralar always a wait but worth it nip round the spar for a plain loaf for the butties while its cooked ENJOY

Really friendly staff and a high quality of food. Far better than the handful of chip shops in Glengormley village itself. Not too greasy an. Always busy, which to me is an important sign. I have to go a long way for better.

After visiting again last night though it was time to review. The Railway fryer has very pleasant staff and helpful we have used it many times has good selection of food with fair prices. You can pick up the phone place order and then pickup....

I have only had from this chippie once and the reason is because I was very sick after eating a battered cod. For me there are better chippies in this area
