Pushkar in Birmingham

We recently visited Pushkar, and it was truly one of the best experiences we’ve had! Everything was absolutely perfect from the food to the service to the overall atmosphere. We ordered kebabs and curries, and they were incredibly flavorful and delicious. The staff were all wonderful, especially Meet, who went above and beyond to ensure all our requests were taken care of. Highly recommend!

Visiting from the States and stopped by Pushkar for a late dinner and drinks. Everything was fantastic - told Sadiq and staff what we normally like to eat and they took it from there. Delicious lamb and chicken dishes they tailored for us. Service was outstanding, will be recommending to our friends here in the UK. Thanks!

Staff are pushy with food choices & overcharged on several items. We were charged for water & poppadoms that we were led to believe were complimentary. Several side dishes were also brought out and added to our bill, despite us not requesting. In summary the staff saw that it was a company outing and from the get go were intent of making as much money as possible from the evening. There was a group of 12 of us, not everyone wanted a starter, those that did had choices in mind, however the waiter pushed us into shared platters, thinking he had our best interest at heart and that this made more sense cost wise, we reluctantly agreed. Later we found that we were charged £22 p/p for this option, which contained 1 small kebab, 1 chicken piece, 1 prawn & 1 golgappa. Further upon checking our bill the day after we noticed that some items were charged to us way above the quoted menu prices. Some colleagues were left very upset from the whole experience. There is never an issue of paying for a fair bill, we would also have tipped at the end of the night as is custom for our group, however when there is a clear intent to add to the bill/manipulation at every opportunity we draw the line. Our bill came to £875 for 12 colleagues, (this did not include any desserts). On the night we only stood our ground on the side dishes that were added without our request, which resulted in a £75 credit being added, leaving £800 to pay. Unfortunately, we will not be returning to this restaurant in the future.

Ordered in Chiken tikka masala, Punjabi chole, garlic naan and vegetable samosas, but also got a piece of metal wire while chewing Punjabi chole.

The food was amazing. I really enjoyed every bite, smell and taste of each dish I had.

The food was very tasty and full of flavour. However, I ordered a lamb Biryani which is usually mild. I checked with the waiter if it was spicy and he said it was a little spicy. It turned out to be, what I would class as very spicy. It was tasty and the lamb was delicious but definitely too hot. Service was excellent.

The Indian at this restaurant was absolutely stellar. The spices and flavors were perfect. Highly suggest this and trust your servers and their judgement on different dishes.

This was an expensive curry but unfortunately all dishes did not live up to my expectation. The starters we ordered were excellent but the main dishes were disappointing. For example, the butter chicken had boneless chicken breast chunks which were extremely dry. The lamb and daal maakahni were okayish, not worth a £20 main. Overall, the restaurant is fine but the price doesn't justify the taste!

Visited the restaurant on 1.2.25 for birthday celebration, left feeling rather disappointed.. The food was good, unfortunately that was the only thing that was worth the visit. The lighting was that poor that guests couldn't even read the menu.. we weren't the only ones who struggled with it. Surprising that none of the staff noticed their guests using mobile phones to read the menu! Wasn't expecting to be served by someone in a hat and pair of jeans in a fine dining restaurant and staff not having any knowledge of their drinks menu.The only thing positive really was the food, everything else, very disappointing. Will not be returning.

Food was nice, but the greeter looked startled at our arrival (despite the face they called and confirmed our arrival that morning. One of our guests came from London for Dinner and had to leave after 2 hrs unfed because they forgot to take our main course order.

All the food was really good, we had starters and mains. Everything was flavoured really well and cooked perfectly. We had excellent service from Nihr.

8 of us went last week. There was only 4 other people in so not busy, but from the minute we sat down we felt rushed like they just wanted us in and out as fast as possible, The food was nice but very over priced total £688 so just be careful the man taking your order will talk you in to things you don't really want

We were offered water and poppadoms but not told this was at a charge. £4 for a bottle of water is steep poppadoms where £5 which with dips we felt was a fair price and very good. We ordered cocktails which were good. We ordered our food with a different waiter (we waited 20mins to place the order). Starters arrived and were ok nothing special. We had table cleaned and asked would we like mains now or to wait 10mins. We said now but still waited over the 10mins. Mains came and were disappointing. The butter chicken was more tomato than creamy and sauce was thin also 6 small pieces of chicken £18. My wife had lamb shank which was a very good size portion and very tasty £22. We did wait a bit for table to be cleared and then a dessert menu brought. We waited 15mins to have the dessert order taken. All 5 staff were stood around the bar talking. 3 having a conversation with 1 person. Due to the delay I did not order a dessert or drink. My wife had a black forest martini and gulab jamum. The glad was very nice but 2 balls and 1 scoop of ice-cream was small. The martini wasnt great. The menu did not mention cream and this took always from the taste. We had 50% off food and still paid over £100. The 12.5% service charge is added before discount was so it's more like 20%. If the tip was discretionary I would not of been tipping near that amount. For the price we paid I feel food and service needs a big improvement. We will not be back in a hurry. Also the toilets are a fair distance from the restaurant and shared with the hotel next door.

Customer service was brilliant food was above average we had butter chicken and the lamb spinach which was ok and 2 cocktails paid just under £100 which seemed a bit over priced for what you get

Great food at a busy restaurant on Broad Street. Service was slow at first but it had a large seasonal gathering. Once the food ordered it arrived in good time and was a treat of wonderful flavours tandoori prawns, saag paneer and phaldhari kofta were superb. Best south asian food for a while. Service was attentive and i look forward to visiting again. A credit to Brum

Excellent Service at Pushkar Hotel Nihar provided excellent service at Pushkar Hotel. He was attentive, friendly, and made us feel very welcome. Highly recommend!

Loved the food and the service. Nihar was friendly and suggested few dishes which turned out to be the best and to reorder it again at the same night😅. Overall a good experience. Additionally we were pretty late to leave the place but none of the staff was in hurry which led us to enjoy and order more items. Thank you 🙏🏾

Amazing food. Amazing service. Very attentive staff. Took care of my baby very well. Also was kind enough to bring out a ‘get well soon’ slice of cake for my grandma. Very very thankful.

We came as part of a food tour - ended up giving me my favourite drink of the whole tour - mango lassi! The service in this restaurant was outstanding, and the atmosphere absolutely gorgeous, light and airy. We were given a sampling platter of three different starters (all vegetarian) which was great and had a variety of spice levels - my personal favourite was the potato and chickpea piece (centre in the photo) but all three were delicious and a lot of care went into the presentation as you can see below.

I recently visited Pushkar Birmingham and had an amazing experience. The butter chicken was absolutely delicious, rich in flavor, and perfectly cooked. The garlic naan was the perfect accompaniment, fresh and soft. The ambience of the restaurant is lovely, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. A special mention to Ritika, who provided excellent customer service – attentive, friendly, and professional. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for great food and great service!

A great restaurant with delicious food. But also wonderful personalised service. When your waiter - at a table of eight - doesn’t need to make any notes but remembers every order, including little adjustments, then you know you’re going to be looked after.

A stylish and elegant restaurant. Calm and relaxing. A million miles away from the traditional image of flock wallpaper. The food and drink menus are extensive, and tempting. Staff are friendly, helpful and very pleasant and they certainly know the menu. Our waiter was able to describe each dish as we ordered it, and to check for possible allergies. He wrote nothing down, but was able to repeat our order without a pause or a single mistake. Impressive. The food arrived without a lengthy wait, and every dish was delicious and beautifully presented. It’s not a budget restaurant but nor does it break the bank, and given the quality of the food and the restaurant, it’s worth every penny. Highly recommended.

First time at this restaurant last week and what a find. Superb food, lovely staff and the chef produces the best food I have ever had at an Indian restaurant. Top quality and I will be back soon.

Incredible experience! I have known of Pushkar's for years and never quite made it to my shame! the whole experience was amazing, food a delight and the service charming! Had the best evening with fine food, wine, service and company! Highly recommend the trip of tikka to begin and tandoori king prawns as a main! Perfect!

Ordered through Deliveroo food was absolutely amazing, such unique flavour! I forgot to add the naan bread to my order, called the restaurant to explain who added this for free. Such professional service and definitely will be ordering from here again.

We both had different meals and each of them were delicious. Slightly more than we would normally pay but worth it for the quality of food, service and dining experience. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. Would recommend as a place as we would go there again.

We had a family event at home and Pushkar went above and beyond to provide an excellent service and scrumptious food. The catering was well planned and the food was restaurant standard and served hot. The feedback from family and friends was very positive. The General Manager Sadiq was meticulous with the preparations and organisation for the even and the head chef Vinod Singh and chef Vishnupal Singh as well as Floor Assistants Meet and Nihal were professional and were attentive to out guests' requirements. They provided good mix of non veg and veg dishes. Thank You to Pushkar for making our event very special.

For a dinner for 4 paid £150, so better off finding a local curry house. ✏️Update - had a call from management today about the review, seemed very apologetic, passionate about providing great customer experience and keen to make up for the other evening. Really appreciate the time trying to make things right, no a lot of places would. They assured the menus have already been replaced and feedback has been taken onboard.

What a beautiful place with delicious food. Everything that we had was cooked amazingly and was personally recommended by Sadiq, whose front of house skills were phenomenal. We were made to feel welcomed and enjoyed our whole dining experience. Would highly recommend.

Recommended Indian restaurant on Broad street a 5 minute walk from the Hyatt Regency Hotel. Delicious food from start to finish. I am very fussy with Indian food flavours as I grew up having the best of Indian/ Pakistani dishes. Nothing we ordered disappointed us. Packed with flavours with a speedy friendly service. We will definitely be coming again next time we visit Birmingham. I recommend the Gosh sagg Wala. 10/10

This is the best Indian Restaurant I have visited, the food was amazing with a contemporary twist the staff were also great offering recommendations on the menu which did not disappoint. We chose this for our wedding anniversary and so glad we did. Definitely coming back. Many thanks!

Are here on a Sunday evening as a part of two. Service was brilliant, even for our slow paced courses! Cocktails were very good too. Food was excellent, but I would say the breads were of exceptional quality, especially the Lachha paratha 👌

Lovely Indian Restaurant, I had the Lamb Rogon Josh & the Lamb melted in my mouth, but boy, did it have a kick.

What a great resteraunt. Visited with my son on a 2 night stay to watch cricket at Edgbaston. Had a superb meal with great service. The next night when thinkout about where to eat, both agreed to go back to Pushkar. I've never eaten at the same resteraunt two nights running. Food and service again fabulous. It really topped off a great two days. Will definitely be back next time we're in the area.

Had a couple of nights at the Leonardo Royal Hotel and having arrived later in the day were hungry, not knowing Birmingham and tired - so were pleased that one receptionist recommended the Pushkar which is part of the same building and offers 10% discount to hotel guests. Perhaps half full when we arrived, we were superbly looked after by the team and Nihar was especially helpful in taking us through the menu. We tried the triple chicken murgh and my partner went on to the speciality menu and a lamb shank variation - I was more restrained with a karahi type murgh - both excellent. How good? With only two nights in Birmingham and plans to try different places, Pushkar was so good that we returned the following evening and had as good a meal again. Top marks from our perspective and know where we will end up next time we visit!

High quality food (I like that we have the desi spice level option): great starter platter to share for two and we ordered 4 mains. Service was good with attention to details.

The manage at the restaurant is one of the most unprofessional person I have seen. They are just cheating customers . The food was very average but main issue was they are overcharging customers and then don’t agree to their mistakes. Please avoid this Indian restaurant in Birmingham.

Most unprofessional Restaurant visited in UK. The manager there was the rudest guy. They first send wrong food items and then say will replace it and then charge for both. Cheating customers . Please avoid going to Pushkar and their are much better Indian restaurants in the same lane

Excellent customer service as always! The food and service here at Pushkar never let us down. From a warm welcome and being very hospitable, customer service is never an issue here. It’s a shame to have witnessed a group who clearly had no manners and felt they were the only guests sat in the restaurant. A credit to the team for handling such behaviour!

I recently dined at restaurant named PUSHKAR and was thoroughly impressed. The food and drinks especially cocktails was exceptional, bursting with flavour and beautifully presented. The service was impeccable, with attentive and friendly staff ( Sadiq, Meet & Nihar )who made the experience even more enjoyable. The ambiance was perfect, offering a cozy and inviting atmosphere that enhanced our meal. Overall, PUSHKAR exceeded my expectations in every aspect, making it a top choice for anyone seeking a memorable dining experience. Highly recommended!

The food was really good and so we're the cocktails. Unfortunately the service was a bit slow even though there were only 3-4 tables of customers at the time and plenty of staff around the bar.

The restaurant over charges and has one of the most rudest manager available . Don’t know the how to serve a customer . Don’t recommend this restaurant at all. Terrible service. They overcharged for Pappadum. Butter naan he no butter and manager offered to get fresh as there was no butter. When the bill came they overcharged for it .worst ever manager of a restaurant

Wonderful food and ambiance. Sadiq has been really kind and humble. And suggested the dishes really well. Another employee is Meet, he was very helpful though out our whole dinning. They are wonderful staff. As a person who loves spicy, pushkar has that kind of variety. Also quality and quantity is good enough for 2 people.

Customer service was 5 star along with the menu selection. highly recommend the lamb chops as a starter and the lamb Biryani also. Ambience of the restaurant was perfect. Thank you very much to the Pushkar team.

Title: Disappointing Experience with Rude Service. I have been a regular customer at Pushkar Restaurant Birmingham but my recent experience has left me extremely disappointed. On my latest delivery order I requested extra mint sauce with my order, a simple ask I've made many times before. However, Saddiq, the staff member who served me, was shockingly rude and dismissive.Instead of accommodating my request politely, Saddiq responded with a condescending tone and made me feel like an inconvenience. His unprofessional attitude and lack of customer service skills were unacceptable. As someone who frequents this establishment, I expect to be treated with respect and courtesy.I hope the management addresses this issue promptly, as such behavior can drive loyal customers away. I am hesitant to return until I am assured that customer service will be taken seriously and such incidents will not be repeated.

We are their regular customer through deliveroo but today the staff Mr Saddiq has really disappointed us with his rude and extremely unprofessional behaviour who said can't offer a complimentary mint sauce when we placed an order of £60.... worst customer service

Went their during my visit to Birmingham. The menu is good and food was tasty. But the service was slow. I don't know who that manager was, but he looked bit rude. No courtesy smile, nothing. When I paid the bill, he didn't even acknowledge it properly. Just left the receipt on the table and left.

We originally went to Indian Racer Cafe, but there was a power cut and so couldn't eat there. Azhar the manager suggested Pushkar and even rang them to get us a table. We were not disappointed in this alternative.The place is smart and well furnished with a laid back atmosphere, a bit of an oasis on the busy Broad Street. Sadiq who runs the restaurant was excellent, as was all the service polite and attentive. Although tge menu isn't extensive, it is all the better for it as what you get is well cooked, nicely presented and very tasty. We had lamb shank, tandoori prawns and kadhai chicken, all of which were delicious. One of our party sampled a cocktail, which he really enjoyed too. All in all, its a great venue and deserves to do well.

My husband and I treated ourself to a meal at Pushka. The food was rather expensive and more about quality than quantity which was fine. We enjoyed a bottle of wine with our meal. The unpleasant service came after we had paid (including the over 10% service charge). The restaurant was quiet with many empty tables and we were quietly finishing off our bottle of wine when we were interrupted by the waiter to tell us that we needed to leave in 5 minutes as they needed the table. We found this to be very puzzling due to the amount of free tables?! We hadn’t been there for very long, it wasn’t at all near closing and we could see no reason why they should hurry us out.

Food - I thought let's give it a try as it was the best rated restaurant in Birmingham for Indian food but I didn't find it that good. The food was average, butter chicken was mild spicy which should be on a little sweeter side and mutton was very well prepared. The garlic naan was okayish but the lachha parantha was exceptional. I had masala salmon which was a new thing and it turned out to be okay. Recommend going there for mutton only!! Courtesy - I went there to celebrate my wife's birthday and I did mention it while booking however, there wasn't any gesture from the staff to wish her. I wasn't looking for a complimentary dish/dessert but there wasn't even a mention or greeting.

I would recommend this restaurant to everyone. Our group was looking for a good Indian restaurant to try while visiting Birmingham and this place exceeded expectations. Food was very special and service was extremely friendly and attentive. Thanks to the team for looking after us.

The food was good but overhyped. Portion size was very small. No starters were available. Service was not good at all.. they rushed us throughout and were not polite and still charged a hefty amount as service charge. The atmosphere was also like any basic average Indian restaurant located in India which is not even posh. Overall would not recommend if you are looking for a good experience.

The resturant was not busy at all when we arrived. Seated and good initial attentive service. After that it was very hit and miss. Lots of staff but never to be seen, but that said when you did get their attention they were very helpful. The food was good not amazing ( considering their reputation). Lamb Rogan Josh was pieces of lamb in a bland gravy. The lamb in spinach was so much better. Can't say we'd go back.

The food was very ordinary with lots of garlic and chilli but little interesting spiciness. The draft lager tasted watered down. The pre drink cocktails were fine but expensive.

Was recommended this restaurant by foodie friends so had high hopes. And they were met and some! All four of us felt this was the best Indian food we'd ever eaten and were tucking into eachother's dishes before long, tasting a wide array of deep but clean flavours. The qasoori methi murgh and the rarha gosht were particular highlights. We don't often do deserts but were so glad we did. The platter was a total indulgence! To add, the service was very welcoming and attentive without being overbearing. Will definitely return!

Having dined at Pushkar Cocktail Bar & Dining on numerous occasions over the years, I can attest to its consistent delivery of quality Indian fine dining experiences. Situated in a prime location, the ambiance, especially on weekday evenings, offers a serene escape with a relaxed vibe. The menu boasts a delightful array of dishes, among which the Pushkar Panorama stands out as a delightful appetizer, while the Saag Paneer and Punjabi Chole never fail to satisfy as mains. For non drinkers, the mocktail selection provides a refreshing alternative. Parking is convenient, with the option to park at Jury's Inn located directly behind the restaurant. While the service could be improved, the overall experience is marked by good food, a great location, and a charming atmosphere.

Visited 25/03/26 , as usual service level was superb, this is not a cheap place , but also not really overpriced, this establishment is about quality food, quality surrounds, with excellent wine quality. Everything about it is smart. Each dish has flavour and impact , and the wifes butter chicken really was something else.

Sophistication with a hint of the exotic. The menu, a lavish spread of authentic dishes, was matched by an impressive selection of cocktails, each with its own unique twist. My meal was nothing short of spectacular, with spices perfectly balanced to offer a symphony of flavors.

The service was terrible, we waited for the salad which we ordered and asked several times for it but the waiters were busy serving other guests. food was okay but nothing special. I've had better food in some small and cheaper Places.

Visited this restaurant for the first time on a recent trip to Birmingham and it certainly won’t be our last visit. The food was amazing. Just the right amount of spice without being overwhelming. We started with the popadoms and pickle tray. I then had Amritsari Macchi, a tasty fried fish starter, and my wife had Vermicelli Williams. They were both unusual and very enjoyable. Main courses were Gosht Saagwala and Punjabi Chole accompanied by pilau rice and tandoori roti. My only regret was not having the appetite to try one of the deliciously sounding desserts as portion sizes were generous. The staff were very friendly and attentive, especially Nihar. The restaurant also had a lovely ambiance and not noisy like some Indian restaurants although this may have been because it was midweek. Overall, we had a delightful experience and we will definitely return when we are next in Birmingham.

Really nice food and excellent service

Very disappointed. The place has construction work at the entrance which takes away from the vibe. The website says they have a strict dress code, but when I visited there were a group on tracksuits and hats eating. One of the serves was a little angry at us as we did not tell him which food we wanted in the order he wanted. He wanted mains from everybody first. And then sides from everybody last. When a member of our party accidentally said their main and then the rice (which they class as a side) the server snapped and said ‘No. I asked for mains only’. Just bizarre. There was also a service fee which left a bitter taste in our mouth due to the poor service. I wish I just went to a local curry takeaway that offers sit in food.
