Purple Pakora Hazel Grove in Stockport

Didn’t even get to sit down. Booked in for 6.30pm and no sign of a table becoming available despite our booking. Went down the road to the Blue Nile.

Great food, good service, fair price what more can you ask for.

Usually pretty good food to a very good standard but just had a bad one, first of all they gave me the wrong curry without a doubt second the chicken still has gristle in it and very bland, pretty disappointed 😞

Had a fantastic meal on Thursday 29th August 2024. Food was fantastic and the service was brilliant. The staff was polite and friendly and we had fun banter with the staff. It was my first time there but one of our party had been before with family. I enjoyed every mouthful of my chicken karahi. The other enjoyed their curry too. They were a birthday party of 40 people but it didn't affect the service of our meal. Will be there again next time over.

Went last night with friends, poppadums were a bit soft and nothing given to transfer my shashkick to my plate, it was nice, just would have been nice to either give me some tongs or serve me. Otherwise we all had a good night. It’s the little things.

Purple Pakora in Hazel Grove is absolutely superb. Since my last review, they have listened to my critiques and embraced change to give myself and other customers the very best experience. The staff are courteous, helpful and extremely friendly. The food , is as it has always been, flavoursome and fulfilling. The beer? Well you can’t really go wrong with Cobra but for the more discernible customers, an extensive wine and liquor list is available. So, is it any good? Work permitting, I eat here every week. It is, in my mind sensational. Really good value and I for one, will keep coming back.

Purple Pakora in Hazel Grove, Stockport is a fantastic place to eat. The staff are friendly and welcoming, the food is the best that I have eaten in Stockport, but if there is one thing that let’s them down, more than anything else and that is they rush you through each course, regardless of how many times that I have told them to take their time and give me a breather.

Had a takeaway delivered from here, said when I ordered £1 delivery, which is fine, the man came to the door wanting £2 delivery on top of this. I said I’ve already paid £1 which is what it said on the website. If you want people to pay £3 delivery set it as £3 on the website and don’t have the delivery man trying to get extra at peoples doors. Plus the paneer in my curry was rock hard, it had clearly been reheated. The poynton pakora is much better than this one.

Again Wednesday I had a delivery the food taste like vinegar rice very hard and thin egg not fresh looks very out of date sauce and peppers very vinegry. Chips full of oil and dry

The food was ok nothing more. This was the first time in this restaurant as I always went to the other purple pakora in Marple bridge but it’s now closed down and why I don’t know. Some of the staff at this restaurant worked in the other restaurant in Marple bridge but the food wasn’t as good as that Indian. I got a lamb madras and it wasn’t very spicy also we ordered the spicy chili garlic chops and unfortunately they weren’t on par with Marple bridge. It’s on a very busy road and not many places to park. The restaurant was clean and the well laid out. The best bit of my meal was the mixed starter it was very nice but the main it was just ok. Would I go again yes but not in a hurry to go back. If you’re taking children they don’t have lemonade on draft it’s in small bottles and very expensive so be careful. They do a set menu on a Sunday for £14.90 for adults so check it out that’s what we had and it’s £10 for children. Hopefully this helps you decide if you want to try it because I personally think there are better Indians around the Stockport area but that’s my personal opinion.It also has free WiFi just ask.

I had the most delicious and spicy Madras curry ever! The portions were generous, and the Naan breads were huge, like boats. It's definitely worth a visit! I highly recommend trying it out. You won't be disappointed!

First visit to Purple Pakora and it certainly didn't disappoint. Very friendly attentive staff, beautiful decor and very clean. Food was stunning, mushroom pilau rice was divine, chicken tikka passanda had the biggest pieces of chicken in and extremely creamy and tasty. Excellent value for money. Went with my son who couldn't compliment the food enough. Waited a long time to find a good, decent Indian Restaurant and I think I've found it! Can't wait to visit again. Highly recommended

Just had an excellent takeaway. Always very good, but tonight was maybe the best, and I have been a customer/friend for years. I waited a couple of minutes, but was able to see smiling faces all around, and that just added to my experience. Thanks all round.

Went in “on spec” with my son who was visiting from Newcastle. Food was top-notch quality and very reasonably priced. Our waiter was attentive yet unobtrusive. This place is now our Go-To Indian and we’re forward to our next visit! Had to mark it down a star for atmosphere as it was a rainy Monday so not many in.
