Played here yesterday for the 1st time & thoroughly enjoyed the course. There are some quirky holes to play during your round with water coming into play on many of them & some great dog-legs to negotiate. This is a nice flat course where Fairways are undulating & the greens fast & true. A fun, if heavily bunkered, course that offers all level of golfer the chance to score well this place is well worth visiting.

Had lunch after golf here on a couple of days, service was brilliant, professional and friendly, £12 two course lunch deal was very good value, Haggis fritters are scrumptious....great panoramic views from the bright and airy restaurant.

My sistet in laws and I went for lunch today. I had heard the food was good. Soo decided to give Pumpherston Golf Club a try. We were not disappointed. We had Sweet Chilli skewers for a starter and Haggis Fritters for mains. Both were presented beautifully and tasted delicious. The pepper sauce was the best I've ever tasted. Manager and serving staff were very friendly and were chatty and helpful. We have already arranged to return next week. Highly recommended.

We chose a glorious day to play a fourball at Pumpherston GC near Livingston. There are some very quirky holes, with 90-degree dog legs and that added to the enjoyment of the day. Water plays it’s fair share on a number of the holes, particularly the attractive 16th which features on their website... driveable perhaps but not recommended! The catering we had before playing was quick, generously proportioned and the chef who delivered it had a golfer’s sense of humour! Equally the reception by the Pro and the help and advice offered was great for visitors. They have a considerable practice are so if you are able to get there early it is well worth the extra time spent there. Would highly recommend it - would be great for an outing.

Thoroughly enjoyed lunch at the golf club today. excellent service very friendly staff. The cheesecake of the day had raspberries and when I commented I didn't like raspberries, was offered a couple of alternatives including salted caramel sauce. I had the haggis fritters which were delicious and then my favourite,delightful sticky toffee pudding. Prices very good too. Would definitely return. Christmas menus look very good and well priced. The views from the restaraunt are amazing too

Played golf here & was really impressed. At first I thought it wasn’t very Scottish however the rough & scenery made up for it.

Went here on Sunday for dinner and I have to say the food was superb as was the service. The price was as you would expect for a club! Very cheap. The food was well presented and very nice indeed. We will be back here for certain.

Our daughter Lauren and James got married and we had a lovely reception in the restaurant.We wanted a family meal with the minimum of fuss and the staff were wonderful.We had chosen to order food off the daily menu and everyone chose what they liked and without exception everyone really enjoyed their meals.We had a lovely relaxed afternoon in a lovely setting and cant thank all the staff enough for making it wonderful afternoon for our newly weds

The weather was poor(wet and windy) but we had a very enjoyable round in tough conditions. Greens were very good and surprisingly fast given the rain. Local pro was helpful and at £13 each worth every penny. Love to play it in good weather. Didn’t try the food but have heard that it’s good too.

We decided sample the food from this new caterer again since they moved in. On our 2nd visit to this particular franchisee my wife had macaroni and cheese with garlic bread I had haddock and chips. The macaroni according to my wife was one of the nicest she's eaten whilst dining out and she promptly devoured her offering. My haddock though not particularly different to others offered elsewhere was nicely presented but accompanied by the nicest homemade tartar sauce I've ever eaten. Though a minor detail the tartar sauce definitely gave Pumpherston's haddock and chips that extra bit "lift" compared to others. The young girl serving us was pleasant and helpful. It's a shame the restaurant isn't busier but can only assume others offering more competively priced menus are perhaps stealing the lunchtime business.

I played a round of golf here today with my friend, and I have to say the course was playing great and was excellent value. After a round we nipped in for a drink and some food. The chef brought our order over, and whilst it is only a humble baked potato, it was the best baked potato I’ve ever eaten. I had it filled with chilli chicken which bas absolutely beautiful 👌I cannot speak any more highly of the food I ordered. My friend had a ciabatta which he also thoroughly enjoyed

Absolutely awful. Do not go here. Chef shouted aw FFS when meal sent back. Sent steak pie back as 'chips' were not chips. They were burnt potatoes wedges. Meat was very tough. Inedible. Pleasant waiting staff. Felt for them. We were told it was the business owner that swore. If we'd had the kids with us I would have left and not paid for the starters if they'd heard that language. Starters were not hot and salad with mushrooms was tired and not fresh. Won't be back. Very very poor. We recommend Harburn golf club instead. Faultless.

i was at this place today what a lovely lunch we arrived a bit late but the chef was only to happy to serve us we both had steak pie and chips and the pudding was apple pie and custard my wife and I really enjoyed it I just don't understand why this place was empty do they not advertise it for 2 courses at £8.95 it was very good value for money

First time I've visited but won't be the last. Had a window seat overlooking the golf course, staff where helpful and friendly. The food was tasty and good portions, and the value unbelievable.

Found this place by chance, didn't expect much from a golf course place in Pumpherston but wow was I surprised Menu was good but the quality and presentation surprised me. Had Fried Camembert for starter then Rib Eye Steak and although stuffed I had Apple Crumble for desert. 10/10 for service and quality and price and last of all taste. Great experience and I will be back for sure.

Tuvimos nuestra primera visita al restaurante el lunes y sin duda no será la última. Tenía el almuerzo de 3 platos, que era de primera clase. Patés, torta de carne luego apple cayera y natillas. La comida estaba bien presentada, los tamaños de porción caliente y buena. La señora que nos servía era atento pero no insoportables. Me encantó la vista. En general un gran lugar para comer. Sin duda, recomiendo que lo prueben.

El macaroni era la mejor ella es probado nunca, así que sobresaliente a Ian el chef. A este precio no Understandly el mayor valor de las raciones pero más que adecuado y excelente y con una magnífica vista de la planta 1 calle sobre el campo de golf este restaurante merece ser más concurrido que está. Wonderful, attentive staff, great menu! What's not to like? In the summer time the view over the golf course just spreads out before you over the Almond valley to the Pentland hills. Magic!

So having read the reviews we decided to venture out of Edinburgh for the day and try something new. We booked a table for 4 and had a new born with us, once we arrived at the club it was initially a cold reception, as you enter through the main doors there is a small sign directing you upstairs, there is a lift which makes it easy for the pram and is suitable for wheel chair access.Once upstairs we entered the restaurant which we effectively had to ourselves for the two hours.The lady who served us was great and enjoyed a chat, no doubt due to us being the only customers which is unusual for Sunday lunch.The food is reasonably priced and the menu has a reasonable range, I decided on two starters as I spotted the cheese cake on another review, unfortunately they had none. The remainder of the party ordered cheesy pasta and the fish, I had the chicken wings and king prawns and decided on the apple crumble instead.The food was, well just average unfortunately despite what the other reviews say the starters were ok and the friends thought the mains were just ok, the fish seemed ok but my friend was unwell the following day but we can't say it was categorically the fish.I ordered a latte asking if it come from the machine in the restaurant which I was told it was not, I am assuming it come from the other machine in the kitchen as it was either powder or instant.Would I recommend? I have been to this club 3 times with friends and although the menu is quite limited the food is beautifully presented and superbly cooked. The waiting staff are extremely pleasant and nothing is to much trouble.Each time we have been its been quiet so not a lot of atmosphere but we made our own fun.You would need to have a large appetite as the portions are huge. We shared starters and mains between two and the dessert between four.

Having been a regular visitor to the club with its previous caterers this was our first visit one evening. New caterers new menu new ideas and food with a twist. I opted for the steak pie which was served in a little enamelled pie dish rather than chips I chose the creamed potatoes which were lovely along with Al dente veg, the meat was melt in the mouth though a little more gravy would have enhanced it even more . My wife's chicken piri piri served in a brioche bun looked lovely along with its french fries but the lovely big onion rings would have been crisper if served at the side of the bun instead of inside the bun. Never the less it was devoured just the same. I couldn't be persuaded to have another course having had an ample suffiency but my wife ordered the sticky toffee pudding which she said was the best she has eaten. The owner explained his plans to extend the menu but it's a new venue with a new style of clientele so it'll be trial and error for him. As we chatted it's clear as he extends his menu it'll be food with a distinctive twist. Shall we return ? ......... circumstanes haven't allowed us back so far but most definitely yes and it will be interesting to see how the menu might have developed. I anticipate this to be a restaurant well worthy of future and regular visits. The views from the upstairs restaurant are superb and the service polite and attentive. For those less able there is a lift available. Till our next visit...........

A lovely course that will challenge amateur and good players alike. Beware of water it comes into play a few times. Every chance of a birdie especially swans they come into play now and again. Very playable course. The clubhouse is superb and welcoming.

had a wee bite to eat here midweek, not that great , had better from my local Café,my buddies did not enjoy their meal too, george even thought it tasted like old school dinners, but I cant mind that far back , best thing would be don't go here hungry or you will be let down ,

Will definatley be back,beautiful panoramic view in spacious dining area.Great for access for disabilities as it has lift access to 2nd floor,where dining area is.Fish and chips were great,freshly cooked to order and excellent quality.Was served by the Chef Ian Wood,who really provided fantastic service,really impressed our 7 year old Grandaughter with the Mac cheese,also gave her the recipe!Delicious home made apple crumble and portions are very generous,this place is a hidden gem!Value for money,i can see this being a regular venue for friends and family and would highly recommend.

Pumpherston Golf Club Grill is a great place for lunch. The restaurant is situated upstairs (lift available)' with lovely views over the course. From the start, we were given a welcome by the friendly staff and the service was very good. The menu offers plenty of choice for all tastes and the food was well presented and tasted great. Four of us ate for under £50.00 including drinks. We will definitely return soon. Highly recommended!

Would recommend this Golf course to anyone.This is a very good course to play and has a variation of holes to tick the boxes for every level of golfer.Prices are very keen and the staff are a pleasure to deal with.The clubhouse is well laid out and furnished to a very high level and the restaurant serves very good quality snacks and meals.Would recommend giving the course and restaurant a try. Lots of visitors to the course, it's not too difficult to see why.Brian Wardlaw.

Had a family meal for 8 - Ian did all he could to fit us in although very busy when booking. Terrific food , big portions, piping hot - and very reasonable too. Staff super friendly and helpful. Great value, nice surroundings and views. Real nice Sunday afternoon lunch

I have been a member of Pumpherston Golf Club for many a year and never fully considered going to the restaurant with the family.An average Saturday today with the family, around 1300, trying to decide where to go for lunch......Toni's, F&B, Ask and all the usual options are proposed by the wife and kids. Then I remembered a good friend highlighting that they went to a local Golf Club last week for lunch and really enjoyed it.........enter thought process towards trying out Pumpherston Golf Club restaurant.It's now called 'The Grill' and whilst not the most up market in decor, the quality of the food, the size of the portions and the costs are excellent. The staff were interactive, but not in your face. The views across the course are excellent and you can't help enjoy watch the mixed golfing talent on display (and dress attire) on the surrounding holes.We will definitely be visiting many more times and will be encouraging friends and family alike to also visit. A must try in my view.Thanks. Enjoy.

Easy to find. Spacious dining room with views over the golf course. Waiters there to help but not in your face. Good menu choice. Large portions. Try to finish three courses. Excellent value for money.

Great value, service and views of duffers on the 10th tee below! Great outlook onto the course and beyond to the hills.

Our younger daughter had enjoyed our visit to this restaurant last year that this was where she wanted to have the family celebratory meal for her Birthday.We booked our table in advance, there really was no need, and we arrived a bit early but this wasn't a problem. The service as on our previous visit was excellent.Our order was taken quickly and our meals were served in a reasonable time frame consistent with preparing the food. While the Chicken Satay starters that my wife and elder daughter had were very good, my younger daughter and I were a bit disappointed with the deep fried mini Camembert starter. Last year this had comprised two mini Camembert with chutney and salad but this year it was down to one mini Camembert, chutney, salad and .... oatcakes. It honestly did not work with the oatcakes, perhaps something a bit blander like cream crackers might have been a better option.Main courses comprised one mushroom risotto, two fish and chips and one chicken burger and chips. These were all very good but I got the feeling that the small somewhat undercooked carrots were added to the fish and chips to use them up as we were the last diners of the day. All in all not too bad, and not too expensive either as their prices really are very reasonable. However we thought that the menu had been cut back a bit from our previous visit, no doubt with a view to cutting down on overheads/food costs.

A group of about 30 of us enjoyed lunch there. We were the only diners at the time which was just as well as the waiter seemed to be on his own. He did a very good job nevertheless. The food was very good and very reasonably priced. The apple crumble and custard was delicious but the portion could have served four! It was so good though that I ate it all! They obviously cater for hungry golfers.Well worth another visit.

We visited as non members and were made very welcome, the staff are friendly and the food was very good. large portions and good choice. The bar prices are also good and the views from the upstairs area is great.

We come to West Lothian every few weeks to take my very elderly Grandmother out for lunch. We usually struggle to find somewhere good to go and end up at generic chain brewers type places. Family members had recommended the Pumpherston Golf Club and so we gave it a try. We enjoyed it. The place is nice, clean and comfortable. There are lovely views over the golf course and the food was in general very tasty and the staff friendly and efficient. My only small issue was that the fish and chips was frozen fish instead of fresh caught. It still tasted ok but as someone who works with the Scottish Fishing industry I really like to see fresh caught fish in Scottish restaurants. I realise though I'm probably one of a very few who can tell the difference.We will almost certainly be back at some point and the place is a credit to West Lothian.

After passing here so often only started dining here last year. What a jewel in the Crown. Over the months and having tried so many things from the menu it's hard to have a favourite. The photos show the beef casserole followed by their Raspberry McCallanan ? All the food is superbly cooked nicely presented and good value for money. When circumstances allow we come once, sometimes twice some weeks. The view from upstairs is lovely and just adds further to the dining experience. Lovely spotless toilets and a lift for those who require it further compliment the facilities offered. Until the next visit ............

Went for a team Christmas lunch, food was amazing, well presented and great staff too. Would highly recommend this place and will come back again.

The festive menu is amazing! So cheap for the quality of the food, definitely the best meal I've had in West Lothian for a long long time. I went as part of a group for our team lunch and can't fault the service at all. 10/10, will definitely be returning and recommending to friends and family! :)

We ate here once again for my birthday dinner. My wife and I eating from the 3 course festive menu and kids from the normal menu. Food as always was excellent both in quality and value and such a nice change from the overpriced and boring high street chains. Service was also excellent with friendly staff. All 4 of us had 3 courses and with drinks bill came to £77.00. It's worth noting Bistro 19 is open to the public, you don't need to be a member. This restaurant is no 2 on TripAdvisor for a reason. Go try you will not be disappointed.

Took my mum and dad for an evening meal. The food was exceptional can't recommend it highly enough. There is a varied menu to suit everyone they can't wait to go back!

We dined here recently with our younger daughter in order to celebrate my wife's birthday. We always try and find somewhere a bit above the average for such meals out and we were not disappointed. Starters comprised deep fried battered prawns, chilli dippers and mini Camembert cheeses all with appropriate dressings/dips. For mains we had Chicken, ham and leek pie, chicken fajitas and beef casserole. We were also able to take advantage of an early evening mid week deal of two courses for £9.95 per head. The total bill including three drinks was only £38.40 2which we felt represented exceptional value. I would also like to make particular mention of the truly excellent service provided by the two waiters. Bistro 19 thoroughly warrants its position near the top of the list for Livingston restaurants on Tripadvisor.

Arrived without a reservation and was advised I could have a table but only for two hours as they were fully booked. We were not that hungry and decided to have a starter and then a sweet both dishes were excellent as was the service from start to finish . Prices are very reasonable and within any budget. Despite the fact that it is a Golf Club locals and visitors are both welcome to enjoy the dining experience. Well done Pumpherston Golf Club

We had a celebration lunch for around 25 people here and the food was very good and quite reasonably priced. We chose the dinner menu which was fancy enough for a special occasion. I would definitely recommend it.

Met up with new and old friends to play this challenging course. The weather was on our side, but my game was not, but had a lovely afternoon. After, we all ate inside the clubhouse, the food was very tasty and great value, the staff were helpful and gracious. All 12 of us left with happy faces.

Couldn't fault this place at all. Lovely surroundings and very nice lunch for three. The chicken goujons seemed to go down very well and the steak pie was great.

Been twice in the last 3 weeks. Food was beautiful and nicely presented. Steak first visit it just fell to bits when you put a knife into it. Burger the following week again delicious. It's nice to see a menu that has things like mince and tatties good food but not often seen on a menu. Will be back enjoyed the view over the golf course very relaxing.

Came across this little gem of a restaurant by chance. This is NOT your run of the mill club/pub grub. Both my wife and I had 3 courses and we were not disappointed. We both had the steak, which I must say was the BEST we have had in a very long time. Cooked to perfection and served with salad and hand cut chips. To say we both enjoyed it would be an understatement. The girls who were waiting on the tables were very cheery and pleasant. We will definitely be dining here on a regular basis as, in my opinion, this should be the number 1 restaurant in the district.

We have tried many restaurants in Scotland over 15 years for a good steak, without any luck at all. We heard of the restaurant at The Pumpherston Golf club and though that it would be worth a try. Thank goodness we did because we finally found the perfect steak, literally on our doorstep. Our waiter was excellent and as for the Fillet steak on a bed of haggis, I can only say that it was mouth watering. We'll be back.

The restaurant has been newly refurbished, its lovely, the view over the golf course is stunning.The service from the waiter is very good, helpful and polite. I had the steak there and I have to say, it was sumptious, very tender, like butter, very good meat.I have to say, I know my steaks and have eaten in its namesake in Edinburgh and I enjoyed these steaks better. Thats just my opinion. The starters are fabby, had the chicken cojouns, the batter is so light! I know its a golf club, but anyone can eat in the restaurant and this is great. Its well worth a visit.You will not be dissapointed

Forget the boom boom courses , if you put the ball on the wrongside of the fairway .. no par .. well stocked shop really enjoyable course ..didn't eat but shall return. A must play Sawgrass of Scotland

I took my family to this Bistro and was surprised by their very high standards.Everyone was so friendly, polite and helpful. This set the scene for what can only be described as a fantastic meal. People who read this review and don't visit Bistro 19 are missing out on a great dining experience. I will definitely be retuning in the near future to enjoy another great evening.

Decided to stop in for lunch and found that the lounge and dining room have been fully refurbished to a high standard, lunch was great had home made chicken and mushroom soup with a hot roll and a bacon roll on the side excellent. Although this is a members Golf Club anyone can eat here and I suggest you try it

Wenr for Sunday Lunch with my son to Pumpherston a few nweeks ago. The food was fantastic and the service was great all very friendly.Sunday lunch starter of chicken gougons was fantastic and roast lamb for main meal wich was excellant, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. I certainly intend to return in the very near future.

We went here for a working lunch. The restaurant was quite small but clean and well set out. The waiter was extremely polite and nice, he took our order and ensured we knew what choices we had to take with regards yo our meals. Orders did not take long in being served, starters og soup with crusty roll were very good we also had garlic bread as starters, this was excellent and very generous portions the small salad with the garlic bread was lovely. Main course was also served without any long wait, stew dishes were very good as was the burger, my chicken cojouns in batter were lovely I thought it might be heavy because they were in batter but the batter was so light excellent. Portions are quite big which is good if you don't want a starter. I would recommend the home made chips lovely. Prices are very reasonable service excellent. The only downside was they were painting and decorating the larger room next door so smell was not so good but we will definitely be going back and would also like to try their evening menu well worth another visit or two.

Visited 3 times now to escape our local office. Food is top notch, staff are very friendly and helpful. Definitely worth a visit

Burger and chips to die for!The food was fantastic, the service impressive and the overall experience thoroughly enjoyable.Main Course:Since then, I have enjoyed Sunday lunch with the family and attended a Steak Night Special which I seen on their facebook page. The steak was delightful and the value was brilliant.Keep your eye on Bistro19 for their facebook specials.Dessert:This is fast becoming a regular haunt for dining and I am looking forward to many more special occasions.Totally recommend this place. I am fast becoming a regular visitor to Bistro 19. The menu is varied, the food is top quality, the service is great all in a relaxed atmosphere and at good value.If you like a good deal, keep an eye on their Facebook page for offers and events. The recent steak night being a highlight.

I recently visited bistro19 for a family birthday dinner. What a surprise, the setup of our table, attention to detail with our personalised menus and then the food!! The service was was smooth, always someone if we needed more drinks or anything else. The food was hot, fresh and very tasty. Very surprised I will definitely be back.

Found this Bistro on Tripadvisor- lovely view from the restaurant. The Golf clubhouse wasn't difficult to find but a notice to direct you up the stair to the restaurant would have been helpful.Service was good and the food of excellent quality, very reasonably priced- very good value for money.Hopefully we will be back, definitely can recommend.

Bistro 19 is a must try restaurant by far the best in West Lothian not only for quality but value for money and they have great staff.p.s the fillet steaks were pure quality

Heard of the restaurant from a club member, took my wife and had a great time, food was excellent with a wide varied menu, portions were very large, toiled to finish the starter and main, great value, staff were very friendly and could not have been more helpful. Enjoyed the view and meal we went back for a full breakfast the following week at the weekend with the family..

Took our parents here for a Sunday lunch and really pleased with the whole experience. Menu has so many favourites on it, and at very reasonable prices. Food was delicious, and service was great. Can't fault it.

2nd time visiting this restaurant since its been open. Safe to say it was as good the second time as it was the first. We attended a xmas function and although the restaurant was full the service was good and the food was delicious. Can't wait for the steak night.
