Lovely restaurant. The service was great, the staff were very friendly. The food was very tasty, it definitely went down well! A good restaurant to visit if you are in Covent Garden.

The place is really outdated and we were disappointed of how the place looked like. The food was good but not matching the rate we were expecting. The waiter was helpful and polite.

I recently dined at Prima Italian Restaurant (26/10/2024) in Covent Garden with high hopes, given its inviting ambiance and what I assumed would be a quality Italian dining experience. Unfortunately, the evening turned out to be a major disappointment, from the subpar customer service to a distressing health issue that ruined my entire night. Customer Service Issues The trouble began as soon as we were seated. Despite the restaurant being only moderately busy, the staff seemed disinterested and inattentive. We waited an excessive amount of time for someone to take our order, and when our server finally arrived, they were unfriendly and dismissive. We felt like we were an inconvenience rather than valued customers. I had hoped that the service would improve as the evening progressed, but it only continued to disappoint. After ordering, we waited a considerable amount of time for our food to arrive, with no communication from our server regarding the delay. When we asked about the status of our food, we received vague responses that only added to our frustration. Water refills were nonexistent, and attempts to flag down our server were ignored. The lack of basic courtesy and attention to detail was, frankly, shocking for a restaurant of this kind. Food Quality and Health Concerns I ordered the classic carbonara, expecting a comforting, authentic dish. When the food finally arrived, the presentation was unremarkable, and I noticed that the pasta looked a bit odd- not the usual colour of carbonara (orange-ish). The taste was equally underwhelming—bland and lacking the richness that you would expect from a well-made carbonara. However, the real issue began a few hours later. Not long after I left the restaurant, I started experiencing severe stomach cramps and nausea. Unfortunately, it became evident that the carbonara had caused food poisoning, which not only ruined my night but also left me feeling unwell for the following day. Experiencing this level of illness from a meal is both disappointing and alarming, as it raises questions about the restaurant’s food safety and hygiene practices. Conclusion My experience at Prima was far from what I had hoped for. Between the poor customer service, lackluster food quality, and severe health issues caused by their carbonara, I left feeling thoroughly dissatisfied. This restaurant needs to take immediate steps to address both their service standards and food safety protocols. For now, I would strongly advise others to avoid Prima, especially given the potential health risks. If you’re considering dining here, I suggest looking elsewhere until Prima can prove that they value their customers and prioritise a safe, enjoyable dining experience.

Delicious food, friendly and nice staff.......

Table for 7 people. We had a fabulous meal as always (found this gem for our gluten free grandson when he was 4, we have gone there as grandparents& adults.... ). The staff are so kind & attentive. A little gem in Covent Garden. So nice not to be rushed either as we had time to catch up & chat to family. Thank you see you again soon 😘

We had a great time yesterday with my friends. The food was lovely, made of high quality ingredients. Service was excellent too. Attention was paid when we mentioned our allergies so that put us at ease. I also enjoyed the whole vibe of the place.

The best pasta in London. Period. Having been about 5 times, I can verify their consistency. Their pasta is fresh, their ingredients are delicious and all meals are authentic. The service is professional, helpful, fun and are positively keen to serve everyone to the best of their ability. Their menu is classical Italian with cleverly crafted twists all at a great price for Covent Garden. I cannot recommend Prima enough, we don’t live in London but make a journey of going specifically for their wild boar and truffle ravioli. 10/10 setting the standard for Italian restaurants in the UK, great experience Can’t wait to come back in 2 weeks ;)

I come here usually once a month after a regular appointment and this is by far my favourite Italian restaurant in London. Firstly, the food is delicious whether you have pasta or pizza (I cannot resist having both). However, what sets it apart is the service. All of the staff are friendly and welcoming, even the manager / owner. I have some medical issues and use a crutch to walk and unfortunately, other establishments have been "unhelpful" to put it politely. Prima Sapori is the complete opposite and always accomodating. It really makes a difference and is why I continue to be a regular customer. I just wish they offered a full dessert menu, as I am sure their desserts would be delicious as well.

The Cuban waiter gave us good attention and recommended well. Plus my kids finished all their food. The best judges 🤞🏼

What a little gem of a restaurant in Covent Garden! If you want hearty portions of delicious food, with amazing service, this is the place for you. The waiters are so friendly and they were more than happy to recommend dishes. The ‘nduja and goats’ cheese bruschetta was a highlight. I’ll definitely be back here!!

Went here recently with a good friend of mine for some lunch, the service at this venue was outstanding with our server Pietro being the most accommodating and wonderful host. The food was absolutely amazing and the atmosphere of the restaurant felt very warm and comforting. I would definitely recommend people going there to try out the food!

My favourite place in London! Food is always outstanding, the vibe is great and service is on point. I had a server by the name Pietro- he was really funny and so friendly. Not only was he super accommodating to me and my friend but also to other customers around me. HE NEEDS A RAISE!!! I’ve never had such a good customer service before until Pietro. Amazing guy.

Place suggested by the guide, with the promise of a pizza leavened for many hours. And it wasn't bullshit. Excellent pasta, excellent ingredients and digested immediately. Fast and efficient service. We wish we had known him sooner! Next trip to London I'll definitely go back to try something else. Some simple tomato tagliolini I saw passing around looked delicious! Pizzeria close to Covent Garden, easy to find with GPS. The welcome is a little average, but the waiter was nice. The pizzas are really very good, well garnished and tasty. The pasta, on the other hand, is decent but a little below expectations. That said, they are still pleasant. Overall, the price-performance ratio is okay. A good place for a pizza in the heart of London!

Weak care, lack of professionalism, we were discriminated against by the fact that we were with two autistic children who did not eat anything on the menu, so we had to buy fries elsewhere so we could have lunch in peace, but the restaurant staff did not like it. They were rude when it came to explaining that we couldn't bring something there wasn't on your menu so that we adults can enjoy a pizza.

Delicious, authentic, brilliant!

We arrived by chance and congratulations because they served us super quickly, the service is truly wonderful, friendly and professional. The pastas and pizzas are delicious, fresh products and a good mix of flavors. Totally recommended.

We were a party of 8 on busy weekend, they were happy to accommodate us without reservation. The food was fresh and delicious, the pizza full of flavour. Staff absolutely amazing. They offered us smaller portions for kids if they wanted small pasta or pizza as there is no kids menu. But kids were happy to try different pizzas from what we ordered.

The true Italian pizza, the only thing missing is the wood-fired oven. Very good attention. I ate a 4 formaggi pizza, very delicious. Nice atmosphere. It's like being in Italy. Highly recommended

Very tasty Italian with beautiful surroundings

Lovely food and lovely staff! They make you feel welcome regardless of how many customers there are. Food came out quickly but didn't taste rushed.

Really great place just off the main Covent Garden area. Service is excellent, standard but very good quality Italian fare in simple & straight forward area inside/outside the market. These guys are almost too efficient. 2 courses, drink & coffee all done in just over an hour. I know it’s right in the middle of the London tourist area, but 80 quid for 2 courses, 2 soft drinks & 2 coffees is a bit much in our opinion.

We ate here before going to a nearby show. I had the chicken salad which was ok, good pieces of chicken but not the tastiest salad i ever had and at £18(without the optional mozarella) it was quite expensive. Two bottles of still water at £9 were saucy and the gratuity was added automatically which i dont like. The place is nice, good atmosphere and staff were efficient.

There were 3 of us there with my wife and my daughter. We were made very welcome and the service was quick. The pizza was excellent, the gnocchi were delicious. You can go there with your eyes closed.

I had a really great dining experience at this restaurant. I told them in advance that I had some health issues and they were very accommodating. The staff (including the manager) were very friendly, but above all, the pasta and pizza were delicious. I will definitely be back.

After visiting the theatre for the day, my daughter and I needed dinner so I searched the area and this place popped up, why not! We arrived and was seated straight away outside. The balcony was lovely and we had a great view of the pizza oven. I had a pizza and my little one had meatballs. I also treated myself to a cocktail, Pina colada and everything was beautiful. The meat on my pizza was very tasty and I tried my daughter's meatball, which were so tender and juicy! It was quite busy but the staff were great, making sure we had everything we need. I will definitely be coming back again , thank you for finishing off our perfect day x

Incredibly place with friendly staff, who let us practice our (awful) Italian, and they were exceptionally accommodating of our diverse dialogue…. Food was exquisite, the pizzas were fresh and delicious and the wine was perfectly chilled. Atmosphere was casual and lively and we had a lovely visit. We will return soon, grazie mille! This has got to be my favourite stop in London. Whether it’s a quiet weekday or a busy weekend, they are always so good, so consistent. Excellent, authentic food, delightful service, in a setting that is welcoming and homely and reassuringly unfussy.

Went to visit this highly rated Italian restaurant with some friends from abroad. The arancini was oily and tasted stale. The bruscetta was actually good. The waiter was okay. There's no baby change available. We ordered a pizza for the kids which they enjoyed. For the adults we had 2 cacio e Pepe, one carbonara and a pesto pasta. The cacio e Pepe pasta was stodgy like overcooked noodles which was then mixed into cream fresh and a bit of salt and pepper. There was no cheese and pepper mixed into. We couldn't eat it. The carbonara was edible, but tasted of crème fraiche and oily. We didn't finish our food and left. One of my friends even got sick post the food.

Found this restaurant by chance while walking through the streets of Covent Garden. Welcoming and familiar place, everything that an Italian restaurant abroad should represent. I ate one of the best pizzas in recent times and I say this as an Italian. Definitely worth trying, for the food and hospitality

Good welcome, friendly and fast service, tasty dishes, good value for money for central London

We had an excellent evening in this typically Italian restaurant. First of all, we were perfectly welcomed by the mainly Italian staff. Then, the pizzas that we tasted were delicious (we thought we were in Italy) accompanied by wine and beer suited to our meal. All this happily brought to you by our very professional server. Finally, we sipped a very good limoncelo which ended this very good moment. Thanks again and keep it up.

Arrived by myself without a reservation, the front of house staff were so kind and really made me feel welcome. I did have to wait a little bit, but the staff kept checking on me and giving me updates. The food was incredible; the gnocchi and focaccia were so flavourful. Couldn't recommend enough. Going back to London later this year and will absolutely be back here. This was such an unexpected gem and I've honestly thought about it at least every other day since my first visit.

Impulse walk in after a 20k step kind of day. What a find this place is. Right behind Convent Garden Market. Unassuming and non commercial. Proper Italian food cooked in front of you. Excellent service. From waitress. Reasonably priced for London. Garlic bread is enough for two. Just order one. Very fast service. Food came out very quick and it was boiling hot too. None of that microwave crap. All freshly cooked. Watch out for 12% service charge which we don’t mind paying but some people don’t. Wine is good quality too. All in all a cracking find.

Crab and chili pasta with no flavor, combined with pasta as soggy as wet mop strings 🤮 The photo shows how much I left on the plate. I told the wait staff it was really bad, but they billed me a full £23+ with no shame. I therefore had to check with my Italian friend if tagliolini was supposed to be soggy with no texture... He said no...lol. Took forever to catch an attention of the wait staff, as they were too busy chatting themselves and with regular customers. This place would be good with fun lively covent garden atmosphe, if you are having just a glass of wine. They can't mess with what's in a bottle. Too bad... As I live in the neighbourhood, I could have been one of those regulars the staff was chatting with. But after this experience, meh...

Had dinner here with my boyfriend and a friend. We ordered a couple of pizzas and a bottle of wine to share. Service was quick and friendly and the food tasty. The pizzas seemed a little bit overpriced for the quality but nothing too outrageous. My main complain was with the music which was playing way too loud for a pleasant dinning experience. We almost had to shout to make ourselves heard. I see that a few other people here have complained about the same thing so I don't think this was a one off thing.

I think you can eat better in Covent Garden at this price point! After all, it was very quick, 10 minutes after ordering, the dishes were already there. From our seat we could watch the market vendors in Covent Garden shopping.

Impromptu dinner walking past and thought this place looks lovely. You know when you find somewhere that’s just a little different..a little Italian restaurant with just simple charm with amazing food and amazing service. The lady who served us was just lovely. I wish I had taken her name. Food was just perfect from the Caprese Salad to the Tiramisu…and then of course the limoncello…. 💕💕💕 Should have taken a picture of the salad and the toasted bread…

We had the garlic bread with added cheese and pesto as well as carbonara and pizzas. The food is beautiful best carbonara I have ever eaten. Very well priced considering the location of the restaurant. Staff extremely friendly and attentive, this is my second time visiting and certainly wont be my last. Thank you!

Second visit here, but really not impressed this time. I had mushroom pasta - the pasta was overcooked, slimy and clumped together - I couldn't eat it. Meals for the rest of the party were nice, but I won't be rushing back. They could also do with removing a few tables to reduce the feeling of clostraphobia, heat and noise level. I couldn't wait to get out.

A few weeks ago I was with my family eating there and I can say that both the service and the food were exceptional. My child is allergic and from the first hour they told us what he could or could not eat. I have been to Italy several times and say the food transported me there again.

We were welcomed from start to finish, staff were attentive and knowledgeable all having a stake in the success of this small family run affair. You can see the love from the locals and family stopping by and the number of regulars that are welcomed here. The food was immaculate, honest and prepared in full view in an honest, open and immaculate kitchen with fresh ingredients and a typical Italian gusto!

I’ve been there two times, and both times I’ve had marvellous service and food. Last time I went, I didn’t catch their names but we had amazing service from a Cuban waiter and Spanish waitress. They were both lovely and friendly. Special thanks to the Cuban waiter who made our night! Food was really nice. Definitely will come again.

Went here today for the second time and both meals have been amazing! First visit I had the crab linguine and today the meat lovers pizza, one of the best pizza’s I’ve had without a doubt. Not doughy, not too oily and very light and airy base/crust. The toppings tasted very fresh and the quality of the ingredients were excellent, proper chunks of chicken, lovely Italian sausage with lots of flavour and fat plus some lovely bacon! The staff are also very friendly and welcoming, both visits have had excellent service. I also think the price is very fair and reasonable considering it’s located in one of the most popular places in London which can be overpriced due to tourists etc. If you’re ever in the area then I would highly recommend Prima! 👌🏻

The man helping us to our seat was super sweet! But very soon, as we wanted to order and told about a nut allergy, they were practically forcing my friend to sign a paper/contract... left within the same minute.

Standard Italian restaurant, pretty crowded. Service was on point and food arrived quickly. The most popular is pizza. Food quality was average, not bad but not the wow with Central London prices. Plus service charge. We paid £62 for two people: got two pizzas and small salad, my partner had a desert and I had a glass of wine. Bit pricey for what you get in terms of food quality& place itself. Would only recommend for a quick bite if you don’t have time to go anywhere else in the area.

Didn’t enjoy anything from this meal. Restaurant was overlooking the inside of tourist shops and garage doors. The pasta was cooked really badly and you could tell it’s not fresh. Only positive thing from this meal was the fast service.
