Another visit and another great experience in customer service, josh and Kara were warm welcoming with everyone, great food but even better service

Went with family today for a carvery as the last few weeks we have been it was nice, but today was awful the food was nothing compared to normal and the wait and service was ridiculous, no staff to be seen when we needed anything, waited ages for drinks order to be taken ended up going to the bar myself, and we weren’t offered desserts! Definitely will not be returning!

I’ve had food here a few times and I cannot speak highly enough of the waitresses. They are beyond helpful and always have a smile on their faces. Nothing Is ever too much trouble. I’ve tried a range of things on the menu and every time I have been, nothing short of perfect. Especially the steak so hats off to the chef! I’ve been as a couple and also as part of a large group but the food is consistently of a high standard. Will be my new regular from now on!

Popped in for lunch, originally intended to have 3 courses as so reasonable but so full couldnt make the Chocolate Fudge cake (gutted) had the Mushrooms in garic sauce to start, one word YUM Daughter had the homemade veg soup also lovely, mains I had to try the carvery never have I been to a midweek carvery with so much selection , and all piping hot all cooked lovely, crispy roasties and actually a restaurant that takes the time and trouble to peel the boiled potatoes not cooked with skin on, Daughter had beer batter fish and chips also generous portion and given the thumbs up I really cant praise the waitress enough she was lovely so deserves a mention , so glad we popped in and looking forward to my next visit and hopefully manage to get to the chocolate fudge cake also I will mention lovely clean toilets plenty of space between tables so dont feel cramped

Totally amazing. After the disaster of last year we were not going to book but glad we did. We heard was under new management and it didn't disappoint. The food was class and service was amazing. So quick and professional. Who ever is the new manager certainly knows what they are doing. We are booking next year.

Was only speaking to work colleagues about where to go for food. No one could give me any suggestions so we decided to just go out in neath and look and we can across the presidents . What can I say ? Well it was out of this world. The windows were so inviting and inside was homely. The food was second to none and the amazing service we had from chris and josh were amazing. I highly recommend this place and we will be returning each week. Rib eye steak cooked and served to perfection . So when my colleagues ask where to go I will be telling them presidents .

I went to Presidents Restaurant today for a family meal and I have to say our food was faultless! The carvery dinner was fantastic, plus cheaper than it used to be as it is under new management. There is a new food menu and the price list is very reasonable. Also, there are new themed nights on different days. The staff are all friendly and cannot do enough for you. The new manager is also very friendly, professional and has excellent customer service skills. Unfortunately, I only have a image of my dessert as I ate my dinner very quickly. Look forward to returning very soon!! 🤗

Me and my partner decided to try the restaurant last night as we heated it was under new management with new menu’s, we were welcomed with a polite and friendly manner and showed to our table. The waiters/waitresses were lovely and recommending regarding drinks and the newly created menu. My partner and I both had a 3 course meal. My starter the mushroom pate from the vegan menu was delicious, light, consistent and very tasty. For mains I chose the 10oz rump steak which I ordered medium rare was cooked to perfection with lovely homemade chips and was accompanied by a glass of red wine that was very tasty. Moving on to the dessert I ordered the lemon cheesecake with cream and ice cream which was delicious. Overall we had a fantastic evening and a great experience the staff did an excellent job of making sure we were comfortable and the food was amazing. Lastly said our expectations were met, my partner and myself would like to thank the new management of the restraint and highly recommend “PRESIDENTS” ... Will be booking again soon 😀

Had a lovely family meal at the launch of the presidents last night. The service was excellent, the steak and homemade chips are highly recommended! Our gluten free and vegan requirements were met with plenty of choice on the menu. Looking forward to seeing all the exciting new plans the new owners have for the place to bring it back to life. Lovely food at Presidents restaurant tonight. I had cheesy nachos to start and my wife had goats cheese tartlet, both were delicious. Rump steak for main and was cooked to perfection. The best steak I've had in a long time. Vegetable Lasagne for the wife. Beautiful Eaton mess for dessert and Sticky Toffee pudding for the wife. Both very tasty. Got to say that the home made chips are amazing and the staff couldn't do enough for us and kept the kids busy with colouring sheet and pencils. Will be back again soon!

Decided to try the restaurant after hearing it’s been taken over by new management and I was pleasantly suprised!

Me and a friend popped in yesterday for a carvery and it was beautiful just like the way it used to be, prices have Gone down in price which is good 😊 and waiter couldn’t be more helpful

Visited the ambassador for lunch today after it was recommended to us and it was closed! Literally no one in there. No staff or customers just dead, bit like the marie celeste.. wont bother again

Not been here since the old team left and certainly won’t be going there again. Nothing changed from decor etc but the food has definitely gone down hill. Choice of 2 meats my partner asked for some extra and was Told 2 slices the same has previous carvery that is the case but previous you had 2 full slices and not 2 that would not cover a sandwich . Roasts were not cooked and dried up all other veg Luke warm and tasteless so disappointed ,

Won't be rushing back here as prices are rising all the time! One of the dearest Sunday Lunches in town. Plates are small so don't get good value at high prices. A can of coke is ridiculously priced. I had a Sunday lunch x2 and 2 cans coke and when I asked for the bill it came to £22. I eat there a month previously and same order came to £17. When I asked the waitress how it was so dear she replied the Sunday lunch had gone up in price. Plates haven't gone bigger though!! Robbery I call this place! Sunday lunch is a Carvery with only two meats to choose with plenty of veg but don't expect to get a lot on the small plate provided.

Popped in here on my way to a uni open day in Swansea to meet a family member in the area and it was without a doubt one of the worst experiences of my life short staffed food took that long it felt like I gained a birthday waiting for it and when it arrived it was dreadful I felt sorry for the Irish guy working you could tell he was embarrassed the toilets weren't even fit for a prison absolute shambolic running just a poor representation of the owners clearly they have no pride

Sunday Carvery is a must here! But Book first not to be turned away. You get all the trimmings (Veg and meet choices) not like The Castle Hotel opposite who only give a pathetic Carrots and peas as Veg. You also get a choice of 2 meats out of 3 not like the Castle Hotel who gives you one meat or the other.

4 of the family travelled from Aberdare to meet two from Neath. From start to finish we all were happy with the service and the food. A bit of a delay for two non carvery meals but when they did arrive both persons complimented the meals. All4 of us thoroughly enjoyed the carvery as well. Finally the overall cost made it good value for money. Diolch

Highly recommend Presidents for family meals. We went last night with a lot of children in tow and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the fantastic food it was delicious. Will definitely be going again.

My husband and I had our valentines meal here this week. The menu was varied causing a dilemma over what to order! Food was excellent, the service was perfect with the staff spending a friendly amount of time at the table but without intruding. The best service and food I have experienced in Neath so and great value for money. We will definitely be returning.

Just wanted to say how much myself and partner enjoyed our our valentines meal last night it really was 5*. The menu was well put together and the chef done a brilliant job. Service was fantastic our waiter Chris answered all our questions regarding the menu and wine selection and was happy to recommend dishes, he couldn’t do enough.

Every time I come for Sunday lunch here it is always spot on! the service is also great. The waitresses always make sure you have everything you need and always do a table check I would highly recommend

Superb meal with Family and friends, the belly pork confit was out of this world and the chocolate fondant was to die for . Make sure you try this restaurant whenever you're in Neath! You will love it .Highly recommended and a big thank you .

Went to presidents for lunch with my husband and parents on Xmas eve not a good experience unhappy waiters terrible atmosphere felt totally ignored wasn't that busy so no excuse can't go to bar to order drinks so just got to wait until someone comes to ask food was OK not alot of it unfortunately didn't bring a steak knife for the steak I had to go and ask I had the fish again I had to ask for vinegar and tartare sauce no idea what they brought because in the end the waiter didn't even know what it was not good though considering you are suppose to be waited on you got to ask for everything had to find someone to get second round of drinks then they brought extra drink which we didn't order I ask for the bill but had to go find that to then was told to check and make sure it was right no one asked if we enjoyed the food or if it was OK not sure where they came from but I think they need some sort of training will not returning

Visited for a staff party, staff were very accommodating and food was lovely. Barley ain’t wait in between courses and each person received their meals together. Attentive staff and lively atmosphere on a Saturday night. 100% visit again!

Been going here for years on Sunday for carvery and it's always been superb until last week evidently there's new owners and they've cut back on the quality of the food nothing was good nothing home cooked all tough and tasteless it's a shame but we won't be going back

Went to Presidents with my family for lunch and was really surprised with the quality of the food. If you think this restaurant just does a carvery then you’d be wrong. They had some fantastic specials on offer. I had the supreme of chicken and my wife had a burger which looked superb. The quality of the food here has seriously improved. Will definitely return again.

Nice surroundings, friendly, polite staff providing effecient and quick service. Went there for lunch, very nice options on the menu but couldn't resist the carvery. Choice of pork or beef, opted for beef, good selection of accompanying vegetables, very enjoyable. Hope to go there again soon and try something from the menu. Prices reasonable.

Read all the reviews and I thought wow must go, turned up without booking with my mrs and little one, staff were very pleasant and found us a seat straight away. The menu came and we decided to order a starter and main and drinks. We would have ordered a three course if there was a discounts for 3 course. 5

We have been going to this place for several years and the Sunday carvery was always beautiful, but today it was awful, apparently there’s new owner and they’ve had a change around, I only saw 1 of the original staff there, the rest were new, the roast beef was paper thin and bloody, and very chewy, there was no mushy peas and the garlic potatoes looked like they had been fried, the cabbage was grey and uninteresting and tasted the same as it looked, gravy had no taste whatsoever, while we were there another couple were complaining about the food and they vowed not to go there again,

So we visited here as a family at the beginning of the month and from this I couldn't fault it. We had three children with us, one was a 'big boy's and wanted a big boys meal, yet he's a fussy eater. And the waitress, a blonde lady, was brilliant with him, she bantered back and forth and even old us what was the best option, which would accomodate our eldest and not sting us too much with the bill. She joked with him all the way through our visit and he thought it was brilliant. The food was lovely, I had carvery, my partner bad steak and everyone cleared their plates. Couldn't fault it one but.

Visited here on a trip to Wales based on recommendation. Carvery had a nice choice and was nice and hot. Nice comfortable atmosphere and staff were very helpful and friendly.

The staff were incredibly rude and made it abundantly clear that they did not want to be there. Ordered vegan sausages that were dry and tasteless. Outdated decor - looks like an Austin Powers set.

We rung and booked last minute on a sunday morning. So glad we did. They were so busy. The waiting staff were lovely and very friendly. The carvery itself was very tasty and beautifully cooked. We've been to quite a few carverys and this one is the closest to a home cooked one we've found

We visited here as a group of 9. Some ate off the menu and some ate the carvery. The carvery was lovely. The meat was beautifully cooked and all vegetables were fresh and well cooked. The ones who ate off the menu had steak and said it was beautiful. Will definately recommend and will be visiting again.

Booked this restaurant for a party of 55. Staff were extremely helpful and couldn't do enough to help us. The carvery was delicious. Everyone enjoyed the meal. It was a Saturday night and we all enjoyed live music from "Calypso". They were too loud but played some great covers that everyone could dance to.

Thought we would try this as we wanted lunch. Ordered the carvery, but the roast potatoes were a dingy shade of grey/black and everything overcooked. Ordered a pot of tea and the cup was stained so asked for another to be told that it was just a tea stain! Never again.

Went out for tea with friends and I must say outstanding food well presented the chips where to die for and the chicken was so tasty . The staff were so nice and full of fun very accommodating. Really enjoyed thank you so much .

We absolutely love it at presidents in Neath. The carvery is so so delicious. Fabulous service. At least once a month or so we treat ourselves to a lunch. Well worth the price. Recommended it to everyone who will listen.

Went with a friend trying to find somewhere that was not Wetherspoons but served food at 5. Ended up in presidents. Had the special. Turkey leek and mushroom pie. Homemade chips. Good was awesome. Nothing greasy as a normally find. Fab service. Highly recommend.

Revisited after a few months and was very happy to find they are as reliable as ever. Good service, good cooking, great choices and a first Buffet for me. I was not disappointed, really good meal with great atmosphere. Will certainly visit again.

A delicious meal well presented there were 17 of us with various menu choices and everybody agreed the food was lovely and they would certainly go back again. Staff were friendly and helpful. There was nothing to fault at this venue.

I haven't much been to this place even though I live near, not sure why really! Over the last two weeks I have visited 3 times, twice with my fiance and once with my Daughter.

We have passed by often, but after trying it out, we will be going in more often. Good value, good food, pleasant staff, nice atmosphere. The csrvery looked well cooked and was very popular.

Lovely breakfast for two our first visit but not our last.We both really enjoyed empty plates says it all also milky coffee sooo good .......................................................

Well , we (two of us) went in for a meal because we were told it was good, staff were reasonably good, tables were very sticky , I noticed the waiting girls only wiped over the tables with the same cloth (no spray used) my partner was a vegetarian so we had to consider her palet , the roast potatoes and parsnips were cooked in lard , so all she could eat was boiled potatoes , carrots and peas , she was asked if she wanted veggy gravy, well this turned up and was not up to scratch because she said 'it tasted like OXO' , I had the full carvery , meat was fine , veg was good but the roast potatoes were awful crisp outside and very hard inside , two drinks , a 1/2 pint lager and a soda water £20 wow , shan't go back there again. The day after we went to another venue and was surprised , food was superb (could't eat it all , and the veggy option was first class) , staff excellent , price was best so far , inc drinks and coffee £15.

Excelente servicio, buen tamaño de las porciones y a un precio asequible para una comida muy sabrosa. Decidimos reservar el almuerzo Carvery asado para dos en el último minuto. Nuestra elección habitual del restaurante estaba lleno, así que de mala gana contacto Bar Presidentes que nos cabía en y eran muy acogedores. No nos lamentamos y sin duda regresaremos.

On arrival we found the the place buzzing with happy sounds of laughter, and general happy atmosphere without being noisey, Perfect. The waitress was very polite and quietly efficient, quickly getting us settled. Two of us ordered fish and chips, which they said was really good. One had pie of the day, which was a little later than the rest but was so good he did not mind. I had lasagne looked good but was disappointing, very little meat and pretty tastleless. It was a shame as the chips were great. Never the less I will definately go back again, so comfy and the coffee was great.

I went into the restaurant there was a family and another couple in so not busy. I might have been invisible the blond haired lady was ignorant totally ignored me so I walked out went to my room then came back about 20 minutes later through people had been served. Another man who was standing outside asked if we could get food. She was so off handed" just sit anywhere" so I did, eventually she brought the menu. I said i don't need it i had already chosen I'd been standing at the bar 10 minutes earlier deciding what I wanted. She said you'll have to wait then and walked off. When the food came it was delicious really tasty and very well prepared. Restaurant definitely recommended staff needed to be given a course on customer service.

We have had lunch here twice now and on both occasions we have had good hot food off warm and friendly staff.The place is always full but the wait for food is short and its real value for money

The Sunday lunch here is amongst the best I've had. The staff are brilliant! We come here alternative Sundays. So one week we eat at home the next week we come here!

It was very very busy, but that's any were in Wales on a 6 nations day and Wales are playing, yet the staff were excellent, speedy , pleasant and tolerable. The food was delicious and not expensive at all

We booked our daughters 18th birthday here 40 of us had the place to ourselves absolutely out standing service, food was stunning, we all order a variety of food children age 1yrs through to 13yrs then all the adults well catered for.I just want to thank Jayne Nikita Richard and the kitchen staff for making our night 1 we will never forget. Deffo worth a visit.

Had a mixed grill which included steak, gammon, chicken, sausage, mushrooms and a tomato. All perfectly cooked and very tasty.For dessert had an apple crumble with ice cream which was lovely.Had a pint of lager with the meal, lovely and cold.Altogether came to around £14 - excellent value for an excellent meal.

Very well prepared meals and presentation and you have choice to alter the content I,ll go there every time I visit.

Four of us met for a meal and it was good but could have been hotter. Chips didn't seem to be freshly cooked and as it was an early lunchtime meal would have expected this. Service efficient and friendly.

By Far, the nicest, tastiest Sunday Lunch around. The soaked peas and the sauted potatoes are an extra special bonus.. Booking highly advisable as its very busy.

I attended a function at this restaurant and can only describe the food as exquisite. Wynne is a very talented chef and the wine recommendations were spot on. An excellent meal.

Once again a really enjoyable lunch with friends in a smart, friendly atmosphere. It has an excellent carvery and a good menu to choose from.All the staff are friendly and provide a good service and it is very good value for money.

Been here a few times nearly every Sunday but stopped for a while as it was the same and got board off the same, but called in today for Sunday lunch well well well what can I say really good very tasty and plenty off choice the only thing i would say is as the roast potatoes was over done they was hard but overall the food was lovely and very nice really enjoyed

Visited on Saturday evening for some drinks and to listen to one of the best local bands 'Like a Lion'A great atmosphere in there with lots of people enjoying themselves.

Went today for my birthday. It was our first visit as it was highly recommended by friends.Carvery was fantastic along with the chef service. Looking forward to an oreo cheesecake for dessert which was fantastic until we got to the cream which had clearly gone off, we called the waitress who took the desserts back to the bar staff who dipped finger in cream tasted it & said it was fine!!! Waitress then came back and said cream was ok and was in date i replied date is nothing to go on people r going to be ill if they eat that so please don't serve it to anyone else.Went to bar to request the bill and was just told how much it was with no written bill. On asking if the desserts had been deducted was told we had eaten half of one so only one would b refunded! The staff members were very rude in holding up menus over their faces to talk about it and not turning around to speak to us.As i have already said the carvery & chef service was fantastic but the bar staff were very rude and we were very disappointed and still having to pay for what we couldn't eat but the biggest issue is the fact that they didn't care that people could b ill.

Once again a fabulous lunch here... Been going here for years never had a bad meal so took to friends here for lunch they really enjoyed. but the carvary is the best around its just like your grab would make, the gravy is homemade and thick and tasty...the cabbage is cooked just the way it should be and the garlic potatoes are the icing on the cake oh and the meat is cooked to perfection the beef so crumbling you can cut it with a fork... As a cook myself I really do take my hat off to the cooks here there doing a fab job. The service is always excellent and the place it's self always spot less.... I honestly recommend people who haven't try'd the dinners to go and experience it your selfs. Also thing the owners of this pub/ hotel are doing a wonderful job. All round a* and 10/10 place.

Chose this restaurant to celebrate an anniversary. Decor is good, clean venue, however the continuous trawl of the general public using the toilet facilities was extremely off putting. Did not appreciate drunk individuals leaning over my shoulder to see what I was eating with one individual using my shoulder to help him remain standing whilst staggering towards the toilets. The food. Well we ordered starters of pan fried mushrooms in a garlic sauce. These were presented in a small bowl and were absolutely delicious. The only thing that spoils the dish was that they were accompanied by four small pieces of fried bread. For mains we ordered the hunters chicken and St David's chicken. The hunters chicken with jacket potato and the St David's chicken with chips. They arrived and looked really good. However the chicken on both meals was very tough and the chips that accompanied the St Davida chicken were possibly the worst I have ever encountered. The restaurant by this time was now filling up with people who were not eating, just meeting up and drinking. It would be a lot better for the proprietor to separate the restaurant from the rest of the lounge and keep the two types of customers separate, i.e. People out for a meal and those out for a drink only.

A very popular carvery definitely need to book on Sunday's however a large lunch and dinner menu available also. All home cooked fresh food which taste delicious!! Very reasonable priced menu! Excellent portions with a selection of potatoes with main meals!!

Excellent meal. Sadly specials all gone but enjoyed Hunter Chicken and President's Burger. Good portions.

Excellent carvery and plenty of it , a party of 18 went and we had drinks from the bar afterwards, plenty of welcome.

Been recently put off by the huge price increase on the carvery which i think will really affect takings & turnover but i did have a lovely steak here a few weeks ago.Which is almost the same price of carvery now Shame

I was reluctant to go in at first as the purple colour is absolutely off putting, looks unclean and scruffy from outside. However, it was reasonably set out inside , appeared clean. Ordered two Carvery. Don't think my mum should have paid the full orice being elderly and eats small portions. Other Children's plates were fuller than my mothers.That aside. Have to say Carvery was lovely. It tasted fresh and and hot. Staff were very pleasant and very busy. We would eat there again. Although we do like try others, have a change now and then.

Service is excellent but food terrible.in need of a good clean tables are dirty, the cavery used to be nice but gone downhill!!!

Had lunch here with my husband, mother-in-law and daughter. Helpful staff and good food. The carvery appeared particularly popular though none of us opted for that. We were very happy with our choices of a fish, lamb, chicken and steak pie dish and the afters were lovely too. We will go back.

We visited on a Saturday lunchtime during the Neath food fayre. We were told to sit anywhere and chose a table. The table wasn't the cleanest, so I used a serviette to wipe the table over. The waitress took our drinks orders (we asked for no ice in both drinks but she brought us drinks with ice). She asked if I wanted chips or jacket and I asked her if they made their own chips to which her reply was 'I don't know'. I took that to mean they didn't and ordered jacket potato instead. The food was good but when a different waitress brought them, she asked if we wanted cutlery (there wasn't any on the table). Wasn't sure what she thought we would do without it! My husband was impressed with his steak and kidney pie.

Ok me and the misses called in here one day as we both wanted to try some were different misses joint lamb she said was amazing just fell off the bone the food is very juicy sucolant was lovely with a nice cold beer misses said she wants to call back again as the food was nice staff are nice the hole place has been done out nice to the old G's

Been here many of times and always enjoyed, never been disappointed and as a fussy one wen it comes to carvary this is highly recommended. The beef and Turkey is always plenty full and cut thick, the veg is lovely and a great choice the cabbage is as good as my own and the best part is the garlic potatoes that I love. Also the gravy is fab homemade. Really gets the thumbs up from me.
