Great place ,walking distance from town centre. Rooms clean tidy but signs of age in places. Bed very comfortable aircon excellent and needed as rooms can get very warm no window to open. Very quiet and peaceful Breakfast standard not exceptional. Parking easy and safe. Staff very pleasant helpful and courteous. Would call again if in the area, but I'd rather go to town for breakfast.

Stayed for one night and was a generally good experience. We had interconnecting rooms booked for us to assist with a disabled guest. One room was much hotter than the other and took a long time to adjust the temperature down in the hotter room. The rooms were both very nice. We've stayed at quite a few Premier Inns recently and unfortunately there is a quite a discrepancy in quality from one to another. I can thankfully say the Matlock hotel we found one of the best we've stayed at. The staff very helpful, the rooms very clean and of a modern decent standard. The restaurant prices are a bit extortionate. We would have eaten there but would not have had change from £100 for a family of five for a burger based meal. Thankfully other options are close by. Ground floor rooms are right on the car park which is a bit of a shame as our view was of lots of work vans blocking all the light to the window. Most guests seem to be tradesmen. We were woken at about midnight by loud conversation in the hallway and again at 6am with work van sliding doors being opened and slammed shut. Thankfully most only use these rooms for sleeping while visiting the area on holiday etc. Overall we were happy as can't expect miracles from a budget hotel.

2 night stay. Staff were great and situated in a brilliant location. The only down side is that the hallways and stairwells have a very “sweaty” smell to them as did our room to start with. There is literally ZERO fresh air running through the building other than the reception area. We stayed in the first floor and couldn’t open our window even a tiny bit to allow any fresh air in so we had to rely on the air con for both nights which has really set my sinus issues/ allergies off so for anyone that suffers with similar please be aware of this as I’m suffering quite bad now because of it and have been since the morning after the first night we stayed. Other than issue which doesn’t affect everyone I’d recommend the hotel for its staff, location and breakfast.

I recently stayed at Matlock Premier Inn and was truly impressed by the warm hospitality provided by the team. A special thank you goes out to Manager Tammy for her attentive service and genuine care for every guest. Her dedication ensured a comfortable and memorable stay, and I left feeling well-cared-for. The accommodations were clean, the staff friendly, and the overall experience exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend Matlock Premier Inn, and I look forward to returning on my next visit.

Simple, hassle free and comfortable stay. Only negative is the WiFi is weak, and you have to pretty much rely on the WiFi because I had absolutely no signal from my mobile service provider in my room (2nd floor). The only fix for this was to go down to the reception area. Apart from this I enjoyed my stay. Thank you.

Arrived a little later than hoped. Server Russell was absolutely amazing help and made my order easy when telling him what and how I’d like everything made (had a steak) couldn’t of asked for a better meal made by Mr Tattoo chef Harley! He really knows how to make a good steak! Staying here for business and will definitely be coming back when in the area!

It was a one night stay with a group of family and friends to celebrate two birthdays. We had plumped for the meal deal for eight thirty and were served an excellent meal, and had no complaints. The staff were excellent and catered to our needs and even got involved in the birthday celebrations, could not fault them. A very pleasant stay.

I had the total misfortune of staying here for 2 nights. First night there were people arguing and fighting right outside my room and right next to my car. I spent a sleepless night hoping my car wasn’t damaged. Luckily it wasn’t. The tea and coffee facilities were free and if you tasted it, you realised why. I have honestly never drank anything so minging in all my days. DISGUSTING does not do it justice. I would despise my life if I ever have to stay there again. It’s been 12 months and I am still waiting for a call from premier inn about these issues. DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY!

We stayed at this Premier Inn with our girls last week, we'd booked a family room but it wasn't set-up properly - someone had forgotten to make up the beds. Leah on the reception was very apologetic and sorted our room when we were at dinner that evening. She left a note, token gift and colouring pens/paper (for the girls) in our room while she made up the room. Great service 10/10, she should be commended.

Lovely place does it's job. Dinning in is terrible adult dinner more like a child's! Needs staffing properly. Miss use off dissabled parking, and although I said something they were not bothered, more were the company. Perfect location. Sort your dissabled bays out. Clamp cars make them pay. Stop saying not your car park!

Rooms a good size and nice and clean. Staff friendly and helpful. Major downside is the ropey WiFi which didn't work at all on the first day - there just isn't the capacity on the server for the number of guests. Plus we had no phone reception in our room (9) at all (Vodafone). *Edit* we stayed again in Oct 2024, randomly in room 9 again! And the WiFi worked perfectly. Superb staff again. Thank you

My brother and I were walking parts of the Peak district, so decided to stay at the Premier in Matlock for five nights. The accommodation and meals were excellent and the staff were outstanding, Breakfast staff were so helpful, and the two young ladies in the evening, namely Tara and Leah were over and above in their helpfulness, they worked well together and took real good care of the customers, I wish them well for the future, thankyou.

Rooms are pleasant and quiet but the hallways smelt as if someone had thrown up everywhere. Like a nightclub when it's empty. Breakfast was average but the dinner menu was very boring and massively overpriced for what is on offer. Staff at check in were friendly and helpful. Server in dining area needs to give a bit of time for people to make a decision on what they want and not hover over them constantly asking if they were ready.

We booked in for 2 nights. We asked if we could book a table for an evening meal at 6 pm. The guy checking us in said no need to book and the restaurant is open at 6pm. We went to the restaurant and could see only half the tables being used. But I was told that we would have to wait as they could only serve a few people at a time. We were asked if we wanted to wait, and we said yes, please. They seated us at a table near the fridge that contained the drinks. NO BAR. We had to wait 15 mins before being asked what drinks we wanted. I asked what beer they had, and the reply was WE HAVE NO BEER OR LAGER. It was the same the next night. There was one person doing the kitchen and one serving in the restaurant. It was the same the next night. The duty manager did try to help out but then forgot to place our sweet order. The things I like to do are check in, shower, have a beer, and have a nice meal. But I couldn’t at this hotel. Both breakfasts were short of items to choose from, and some hot food items were cold. The coffee machine was out of order both days in the restaurant. It's definitely the worst Premium Inn I have stopped in. The guy in the restaurant in the evening was trying his best and was very apologetic. He needs a pay rise.

The room and everything was like a normal premier inn, but the restaurant on the other hand was a different story. We booked a Premier Inn because they always have a restaurant attached, this one didn’t and only had their own. I ordered the dough balls which were rock hard and had to be remade, the kids pizza was clearly frozen, with no flavour either. The burger was bland with no flavour, the chips were bland and the pancakes were cold and dry. There was only 2 staff members running about the place, meaning our food sat under the hot plate for 5 minutes before a waiter brung it over, obviously not their fault as they were doing their best but the establishment was clearly under staffed, with only one person in the kitchen. Won’t be eating there again.

Stayed here last year for valentine's and I rang the reception beforehand if they could do a little surprise or a treat for when we enter the room. They had champagne, roses, chocolate, petals on the bed and everything. The staff at the reception were incredible and so thoughtful. Matlock is a beautiful quaint town, would not stay anywhere else than here, easy to walk from the station too!

Premier Inn in Matlock hotel exceeded all my expectation! The staff members were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to ensure that my stay was comfortable. The rooms were not only nice but also impeccably tidy, showcasing a level of cleanliness that truly impressed me. The attention to detail was evident in every aspect of the room, from the neatly made beds to the sparkling clean bathrooms. Overall, my experience at Premier Inn Matlock hotel was nothing short of fantastic. I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone looking for a pleasant and comfortable stay in Matlock. I will definitely be returning on my next visit to the area!

Good location for Matlock, Matlock Bath, Bakewell and Buxtion area. There is plenty of parking and easy to find. Own restaurant was good for evening meal but second night no chefs turned up to only basic food available. Breakfast was disappointing with the choice of cold foods and hot Breakfast was uninviting. Rubbery scrambled egg, congealed fried eggs, empty dishes waiting to be refilled. Breakfast plates out of the plate warmer were stone cold both days. Staff (other than kitchen) were very attentive and helpful.

Astonishing. I booked a weekend away about a month in advance. 3 days later I realised I'd double booked (my other half had arranged something I didn't know about) so I called up immediately to let the hotel know my mistake. I'd paid £790 for 2 nights but was told that as I'd clicked on the first package offered, it was non-refundable and the hotel would be keeping my money. I had not realised that was the case because on booking I was offered about 6 packages, most of which appeared to be offering 'extras' when I just wanted the room, hence clicking the first option. Now I understand the need to protect against no shows and last-minute cancellations but this was a genuine mistake that I sought to immediately rectify. My initial conversation with the Duty Manager was met with total refusal, effectively holding me hostage to the booking. I felt utterly sick that a hospitality institution could be so appallingly intransigent, so much so that I felt akin to a victim of theft. I had been trying to do something nice and seemed to be about to lose almost £1,000 as the result of a mistake. Against all my instincts I wrote a pleading e-mail and was then offered 50% back on cancellation of the booking. That means that this wretched place has still kept £395 of my money and will be able to re-book the room. This was 3 days after my initial error with over 3 weeks to the booking itself. I'm staggered at the attitude of management in the circumstances. I completely get that if I was calling up a week before, but this was me recognising my mistake almost immediately. All I can say is look very carefully at the options if/when you book, and be alert to how management treat a potential guest like myself. I still feel sick to my stomach that this place has just kept £400 of my money.

Dined here last night whilst in the area. Very busy and noisy with an open kitchen and tables close together. Staff nice but very busy. Didn’t have draft beer or cider. Pizza 🍕 was a bit strange. Very flat like a place mat and base more resembled bread rather than pizza dough. Cheese was good and was creamy and runny. Extra topping a massive £3.50 each !! I usually have onions but not at this price. Calzone pizza was ok. Too much dough. Again quite bread like and thick but inside was nice. Pizza dough needs to be as tasty & crisp for us and as nice to eat as the topping.

Stopped by Edensor Tea Cottage while visiting Chatsworth House—it's only about 15 minutes away and such a lovely little spot! The chips were delicious and the tea cakes were absolutely delightful. I really loved the warm, cozy atmosphere, especially since it was quite cold outside. The fireplace added such a nice touch and made it feel extra welcoming. Highly recommend if you're in the area and looking for a charming place to relax and enjoy some comfort food. A hidden gem !!

We booked in advance as we'd heard great things about this restaurant. When we turned up Saturday 5th April that couldn't find our booking but we're able to accommodate us. The food was disappointing, even though it was marked as mild it was very hot, I couldn't eat mine. The atmosphere was spiked by the fire alarm going off and no one seemed to be able to turn it off, after about 20 minutes we left. We wouldn't be rushing back
