We picked up our food and it was fantastic. The packaging alone put a smile on our faces.

Me and my family went to mazzi for my 18th birthday meal. They had set the table with birthday confetti and a happy birthday banner! The staff were so welcoming and friendly and the food was great!!! Would 100% recommend this amazing restaurant!!!

Only got a take away but whilst waiting I saw it was a vibrant busy restaurant. The food we had was excellent so I'd guess the same would be true for the in house eaters.

Great food whether dining in or out.

Food was really dry, service was incredibly slow. Aloo paratha hardly had any aloo in it. Jalfreezi tasted of nothing. Mixed grill was not even a mixed grill, seekh kebab was massively overcooked and looked like it was forgotten in the pan. Everything just looked like sadness

We ordered a takeaway as we were passing the restaurant. Wow! The food was one of the best curries I've ever had (& I've had a lot)! Not very oily or greasy like some places, but really good quality and obviously prepared freshly. The food was on the hotter side of spice, but that's ok for me. Fantastic place and I'll make a detour in future to use again.

Went for a family meal. Service was excellent and the food was superb! Waiting staff were great with the children and supported with meal choices to ensure we all had something we enjoyed. Would highly recommend.

We booked Maazi to come cater at my sisters hen do one evening. The food was served in warming trays, and crockery provided. Ali arrived promptly to set up the meal and was an absolute delight throughout. Would definitely recommend to anyone hosting a party.

Cold plates, warm cobra. Missing king prawns from 4 mixed grills, that were eventually delivered…but were so over seasoned and spiced it was just a real shame. Naan breads delivered mid main course that were over cooked. Just very average. Real shame as the restaurant was not busy on a Friday night.

Whilst visiting Matlock we found out that you shouldn't leave it too late to try to eat out, and finally found Maazi. The welcome was warm and the decor lovely, but the food was superlative. The menu has most of the old favourites as well as a selection of dishes that don't grace your standard Indian menu. I chose the Rajasthani Railway Lamb, which was wonderful. The other three members of the party each chose different dishes but we all agreed that it was probably the best Indian meal that any of us have had - all at a very reasonable price. If I lived in Matlock I'd happily try to work my way through the menu. Highly recommended.

Food was great and every meal for each of our party was presented well and no complaints about the taste and quality. The service was to a good level when being served but found ourselves occasionally sat waiting for the table to be cleared. Atmosphere is as you would expect it, fairly modern with an authentic feel

I would not recommend this place at all. Hair on the starter dish but the waitress apologised and brought a fresh plate which was kind of her. We ordered a Lamb Nihari but it was not at all a Lamb Nihari so we thought it might have been the wrong order but it wasnt. The Nihari was uncooked and was extremely bland. The Biryani was okay but I wasnt aware that biryanis have peppers in it. As a Asian Pakistani I was very disappointed in the food which was served to us. Me and my husband wanted to have a romantic dinner but it turned out to be the worst experience and a waste of money.

Very disappointed completely different experience from eating in. All the food arrived cold to lukewarm. Absolutely no garlic or cheese in the ‘garlic & cheese’ naan breads! I will definitely not order for delivery again.

Turned up Sunday evening after seeing the good reviews. Not busy, only about 4 tables. Really nice atmosphere and very friendly waiters. Unfortunately the service was slow and perhaps unsurprisingly the food was not authentic. It therefore didn’t suit our palates. Quite pricey too.

Great food and service. I grew up eating Indian food and found it authentic. Good flavours and plentiful portions. Lovely service and an excellent location, a windowside table overlooking the park and the setting sun. Highly recommended.

Please make sure you deliver what has been ordered and paid for. The takeaway was a good quality.

Absolutely loved eating here. The service was great*, the food was great and then to top it all off, when we asked for a taxi number at the end (we only needed to get up the hill - about a 5 minute drive - but my mum had a badly sprained ankle so we couldn't walk it), they insisted on driving us all! Just the best experience :)) *Accommodated all our vegan option requests and gave us leftovers to take home.. :) Thank you team Maazi! 🙌🫶

Lovely place to eat and the food was really tasty. A decent sized portion and great welcome and there was a real buzz in the restaurant.

Had a drive out to visit Maazi so we booked the table for 7pm as it was a 40 minute drive,sat down and had drinks and ordered the food which was still not brought to us after an hour and a quarter. After complaining the food came out 5 minutes later by that time we'd had enough of the busy noisy atmosphere and pretty average food. A drink for free might have been nice after waiting for so long so we won't be visiting again

I actually really love Maazi. The food is delicious. We order it for lunch on Wednesdays. It was unfortunate that last week I found a long hair in my food. However they brought a replacement meal with 20minutes. Mistakes happen, I just hope it doesn’t happen again. 9/10 overall

Visiting area for one night and found this place referred to positively on a celiac gluten free forum (as my partner is celiac). Walked in without a booking and had a warm welcome and excellent service from Isuri, who was an absolute star all evening. We ordered king prawn starter and mixed platter starter after papadams and pickles. The starters were large proportions and really nicely presented. The mains and sides that followed were equally as good, served by Ali. If we lived within 20 miles we would be regulars! Looking forward to eating here again next time we are visiting the area

Not a good experience tonight after being a customer for years. Food took an hour to come out. Nobody came to tell us why or that there would be a wait. No drinks offered whilst we waited. We tried so hard to be friendly to the waitress but she was super cold tonight and clearly didn't want to be there. The lights inside the restaurant kept flickering on/off throughout and the biggest insult is the food is about 25% more expensive to dine in, yet portion size is 25% smaller than takeaway. Its a shame you treat customers like this. One poor chap working there didn't even understand our request for water. He looked totally uncomfortable most of the evening. Couple of nice staff members but overall it was a poor dining experience. Will stick to going sheffield or Nottingham in future cause this isn't worth the money.

Had a takeaway from here on 7th January 2024 for 4 people, all ordered separate and different dishes. Everyone had food poisoning afterwards. My son was violently sick all night.

Ate here for the first time on New years Eve, absolutely superb food and service. Don't understand some of the poor reviews here... Could be just bad luck, or more likely from the type of people who just love to pull everyone else, and everything else apart, as their own lives are so dull and void.

I recently visited the Matlock restaurant and had an amazing time here with my family. The food and service was top level and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. Tanya who served us drinks was an absolute delight and really made us all feel comfortable and welcomed. Thank you Tanya and Team Maazi!

Another year, more people. Food and service is amazing. . Christmas Day any year is amazing..Starters were, mixed platter, Railway lamb, and chicken Handi, with fresh breads. Plenty on the main meal.Desserts, Gulab with ice cream. Great atmosphere, great food & plenty of it. Short break in Chesterfield over Christmas period what a fine way to spend lunch, without having to wash up afterwards. Come back for another Xmas meal. Ho ho ho. In fact 6 yrs on.

Hmm ppl rave about this place but honestly I can’t go above a two star rating! The food was poor starter was a mixed platter with Popperdoms didn’t taste right, the raita was or seemed off, I had the Aunty Parveens fish special ‘very basic’ and cold in temperature and the mushroom rice was sticky n not much taste. Service wasn’t great either had to wait twenty five mins just for a pint of orange juice/lemonade. I no it’s Saturday night but I wasn’t impressed.! Atmosphere wasn’t great either. The price for all the food we had was expensive for poor quality food. We are a party of four.

Absolutely outstanding. It's just a shame we are only in Matlock for the weekend. Door to door transport from our Bed and breakfast to the restaurant and back again after our meal. I would recommend it to any visitors to the area to give it a try. You won't be disappointed.

The staff here were very friendly but the food was not to our liking, unfortunately. It all looked great but the flavours were not authentic to us as my husband is Indian. Everyone else in the restaurant seemed like they were really enjoying themselves so maybe it was just us.

After reading reviews we decided to eat here for a joint birthday celebration. Arrived around 9pm. Only one other table of four ladies celebrating a 40th birthday. Biggest mistake we ever made. From warm drinks to very expensive poorly over cooked food in small portions considering the price. Never had chicken tikka before that was white and not red?? Paid £16 for king prawn and spicy vegetables special and got only 3 king prawns, one of which was inedible due to been overcooked. Despite bringing all our concerns to the owner, we were told that the chef said the food was fine. Don't waste your time of money here, better off trying the spice restaurant. All in all, our worst dining experience ever. Be warned , avoid⚠️

100% strongly recommended! It's our anniversary today and my boyfriend has asked to book a romantic table in advance. They've made it more romantic than we expected. Our waitress Isuri was really friendly and patient. She listened to my food preferences and recommended a curry dish that exactly hits my taste! Plus she kindly asked us if we woupd like a cake free of charge to celebrate our anniversary. One of the best services I've had so far. Overall, authentic Indian food, best services, great atmosphere. Definitely would go back if we have any chances in the future!

Went there for the first time and literally the food was below standers 0/10. Lamb was unbreakable. Even i called the manager to show that its not fresh he replied"you know their taste and stuff. Kebabs were smelly. Spent more than 80 pounds and left restaurant without a single apology. Avoid.

Detractors of this place probably eat chicken tikka massala packed with food colouring. The handi and achari we had in here were to die for. Naan made on the premises and fresh out of the tandoor. It's worth a hotel in Matlock just to dine here.

We had a takeaway from Maazi last night delivered to our campsite and I can honestly say that it was the best ever curry we have ever had and we have had a lot. The taste was terrific we had four meals between us and everyone was completely satisfied highly recommend. I just wish they delivered to Leeds

A long wait for food which was mediocre at best. Naan was burnt and one of our curries was too salty to the point we could not eat it. Only one waiter and hard to get his attention. Food is overpriced for what we received and was not impressed with the state of the washrooms either.

The woman I spoke to on the phone was so lovely and our delivery driver was the kindest man with a great sense of humour! They delivered straight to our campervan where we were camping in Haddon Grove Farm campsite. It was exactly what we needed on a Saturday rainy evening. Delicious!
