Rooms have been recently refurbished, so all nice and new. Premier Inn are pretty consistent. Limited breakfast choice if you're dairy free. Only soya milk as non dairy options. No yoghurt, oat or almond milk options.

The room was big, clean and well set up. However, it had a bad smell.

I'll be honest I'm not a fan of Premier Inn or of travel lodge. Their philosophy of charging extra for the things that most people would view as just being the basic necessities of staying in a hotel grates on my nerves. You pay for the most basic of rooms, and you don't even receive the most standard items in return. It's only when you've been abroad where toothbrushes and toothpaste come automatically, and the provision of WiFi is just taken as a given, along with face cloths, that you begin to understand how much these places rip you off. Small rooms that contain a bed and not a lot else come as standard in most travel lodges and Premier Inns. On this occasion we paid extra to get a premier Inn plus room, as we needed to have WiFi that didn't chuck you off after connecting for a couple of minutes (yes I'm looking at you premier Inn and Travel lodge) and where you don't struggle to have more than one device connected at the same time. For the extra money we also got a mini fridge (and it really was mini) as well as what seemed to be a slightly bigger room. The soap for the shower and the hand basin was also better than the usual fare for Premier Inn so that was a pleasant surprise. Unfortunately the view from the window (as seen in the pictures) was hardly the french Riviera or the Bund in Shanghai. I can live with that as we were only staying for one night, but what was a problem, was that unfortunately just as with all premier Inn and travel lodge rooms, the walls are paper thin. So you can hear the sounds from your neighbours, including toilets flushing and conversations from your neighbours. There also appears to be a design flaw, because everytime we've stayed in a Premier Inn or a Travelodge, you can hear the water going through the pipes whenever your neighbours have run the water in their rooms or have been to the toilet. I've given this a three star rating as the premier Inn plus room is a step in the right direction, even if you shouldn't have to pay extra for a room that provides the kind of standard service that you can expect to find in most hotel rooms abroad.

Had to make a choice between here or the travelodge and opted for the Premier Inn as they did a full breakfast. Also signed up for the 'meal deal' which gave a 2 course meal and a good pint for reasonable cost.

The room was lovely, looks like it's been revamped fairly recently. A predictably decent premier inn experience. Only downside was that we'd booked breakfast, arrived at 9.30ish to find a big queue to be seated and the staff obviously stressed trying to tidy up after some frankly gross and disrespectful guests who had just trashed the tables. Decided against breakfast, went to check out, the front desk staff apologized and refunded the breakfasts.

Superb service from Debbie in Reception on our last stay here in January 2025. Very comfortable, well-equipped and intelligently laid out room as usual. Unfortunate that supply issues restricted the choice of breakfast items, especially for the Continental option.

Great hotel. Nice location too with lots of food places nearby. We paid extra for the upgraded room, definitely worth it. Be careful if you’re getting fuel at the garage though you can only stay for 20 minutes before getting a fine !

This hotel was perfect for what we needed, a one night stay after visiting thursford. The thing that let the hotel down was the pub next door, the manager was rude and telling staff off in front of customers, also no of the staff had any idea what was included on the premier inn meal deal, so thst was disappointing we never got our free drink either.. the food we did order was nice. Just let down by manager that night

Easy to find, good location. Decent price. Clean room. Decent size bath shame couldn't keep my kids out while I bathed lol. Just want to mention Kate/Katie sorry if name spelt wrong. She was nothing but polite but also extremely apologetic when she really didn't need to she done everything perfectly. She mentioned she was new and was sorry again we tried to tell her to stop apologising as she honestly didn't do anything wrong and service was perfect in our opinion. She even went and double checked where our room was and she was correct on where it was but still went out her way to double check. She's a credit to premier inn and hopefully gains more confidence to not apologise so much especially when she's done everything correctly. Quick check in no fuss got our key card and was in. Free parking which was fab. Would stay again if in the area purely to see Kate succeed at her role. Good luck Kate all the best

Great staff. The room was very hot even with the window open in February! There was a fan in the room which helped. Otherwise it was a comfortable stay. It would be nice if there was a cut through path to the bus stop and the costa. The pub next door is fine if you go at quieter times.
