Freshly cooked Baking smells will make your mouth water. We had breakfast baps and were given lots of information about the differences in English and Scottish sausage! Scotch pies were delicious too. Very upset when we arrived too late on our last day as I wanted to take some pies home.

A little hidden gem. Found on TikTok and thought we would give it a try, ending up going back everyday for breakfast while visiting Edinburgh. Great to try traditional Scottish foods there was a list of suggestions or build your own breakfast roll all well priced.

This feels like a hidden gem! A generational bakery that serves some seriously yummy breakfast sandwiches and baked goods. The scones are wonderful but I can confirm I had the BEST chocolate chip cookie I have ever encountered here and my only regret is not buying all of them on our last stop. It’s a small cafe. About two tables that you usually share and make good conversation with others while waiting for your food! It’s worth the wait too! Every breakfast sandwich we had was wonderful!

We needed a good spot for an early (8am), quick and filling breakfast and Preacher’s totally nailed it. We ordered at the counter and grabbed one of two tables inside. My husband and I each had a Hayley roll (egg, sausage, cheese and chili jam that was very sriracha-esque) and they were very tasty. Nice cappuccinos, too. Great local bakery!

Cute little shop right by the Edinburgh castle! You can’t beat the prices and the food is delicious. The owners are so sweet and friendly. Definitely recommend stopping by, but be aware it’s small inside with only a couple tables.

I don’t know what they do to the hash browns but they’re magical! Had the square sausage sandwich and hash browns and might’ve shed a tear on how good it was. Definitely recommend for any vegan or omnivore!

I have been to Preachers a handful of times and enjoy every trip. Breakfast rolls on fresh-baked rolls, sausage rolls, cakes and freshly-made soup are all fantastic, and the staff are so friendly even when the place is packed. Their selection of soup flavours is always so varied, alongside staples like lentil and chunky vegetable, and the cake selection changes daily so it's not just the same fare all the time. Preachers is a brilliant place to satisfy your breakfast and lunch needs, I highly recommend them.

I visited Preachers today on the high recommendation of a colleague - I got a Cornish pasty and a scone. Both were excellent and very reasonable, in fact, the pasty was the best I've ever had north of the border. The counter staff were friendly and fun which was a bonus. I'm looking forward to being a regular here!

Having been a "Saturday Lassie" for 14 years for the original Preachers Patisserie in Rodney Street Shop & Raeburn Place Shop (where everything was baked), selling only the best quality items made from the best quality ingredients. The then bakers were Jim Preacher (Keith's Grandfather), Allan Preacher (Keith's Dad), the shop floor headed up by "Mrs.P." (Keith's Grandmother). I was excited to see that tradition and experience handed down to enable Keith to add his own modern flair. I was pleased to see a few of the "auld favorites" and impressed by Keith's creativity. A first stop and a "had to visit" before heading back to Denver (only home for 3 days). Best Wishes Keith - you are doing a fantastic job!...........Preacher Style! Carole McMurry.

Preachers Patisserie make, undoubtedly, the best breakfast rolls in Edinburgh. The bread is baked fresh in-house and to perfection, with warmth and the perfect amount of flour. Tattie scones are unrivalled and the square/link sausages are extremely flavoursome. Also wonderful value for money, at just over £2 per roll. Whilst the bakery could benefit from a larger dining space, the cosiness is definitely part of the appeal. I can honestly say that this is the best breakfast I have ever had in my life and I find it a challenge to not go there every day.

We happened to pass by and saw the delicious looking scones in the window. The scones (especially the cherry and almond) with butter and jam wet the best we’ve ever had! The scotch pies were flakey and delicious! What a gem !

Stumbled across this great little bakery on the way from our apartment to the Royal Mile quite by accident. They have great pastries and homemade sandwiches at unbelievably reasonable prices. I wish we had discovered it at the beginning of our stay instead of the end. We had to swing by on our way to the airport for one last cappuccino and a scone!

Excellent quality fry, offering wonderful local delicacies, including a fine potato scone, black pudding and haggis. All for £6, including a pot of tea. If I’m in a rush, the amazing ‘Holy Trinity’ morning roll, combining fried egg, bacon and potato scone, is world class.

They offer wide variety of fillings for rolls and sandwiches. It is best option for a quick lunch during work hours. Also rates are quite reasonable.
