Great pies and pastries for a pound. Whats not to like? Tasty and hot. A great place to pick up a snack.

I was most disappointed today to realise that the last weeks price of a pound for two pies has now gone up to 1.30...that’s some jump....So is it now changing its name to 1.30 bakery.

Food is nice and cheap, can't complain. Employees are generally polite and the cheese & onion pasty is my favourite and is always warm when I order it.

Called in today at dinner time,I could not believe how busy they were.People were queuing outside the door,I got two sausage rolls for a pound, the woman serving me said be careful as they had just come out of the oven. She was right they were very hot,I also got two carrot cakes for a pound. The shop was very clean and tidy and the staff were very helpful and friendly and the service was very good.I was served and out of the shop in about ten minutes. The food was very nice and I will be going back again next time I am in the area.

Hearing the legend of the Pound Bakery in Ashton, I decided to check it out myself with the notion to separate myth from reality... And boy was I delighted and amazed in equal measure! I have dined in some of the most prestigious eateries on the planet and yet...I find myself still seeking that holy grail of incredible food, service, and atmosphere. Ladies and gentlemen...we may have just discovered that holy grail. To call the Pound Bakery a simple eatery is, quite frankly, an insult. This is an unparalleled experience into exquisite tasting. The closely guarded and well protected recipe to their incredible range of pasties is the secret to their success. It is easy to forget that the good salt-o-t'earth ashton folk that serve up these perfect pies and pasties are indeed paid staff; the homely atmosphere and rustic appeal they provide makes it feel as if you are coming home to a family kitchen. And yet, whilst never forgetting its roots, the Pound Bakery still achieves a feel of exclusive modernity - a remarkable balancing act that eludes most other so-called fine dining restaurants. I simply cannot describe the intense flavour of their perfect baking. One is not simply purchasing a tasty range of pasties for a pound, upon initial tasting one is transported to a world where the true, perfect pasty exists and is taken on a journey through time, back to when the key recipe to the perfect pasty was not a secret but the staple of a working man's diet. Imagine such a time still existed, imagine such a world where everyone has the freedom to experience the perfect pasty... Think this is impossible? Think again... The revolution of the Pound Bakery has begun! Fine dining will never be the same!!

A lot of items are 2 for the price of 1 in this shop. The pies are good and they have a good selection of bread and cakes.

Nice range of bread and pies. Service was good and although it gets crowded you don't wait long. Town centre so easy to get to.

Why pay a fortune for tasty food when you can get everything you want at the £1 bakery. Great value and makes a cheap lunch when at work

As previously visits, the food was really nice, but as per previous visits, the service was not good. No one asks if you want any more drinks, no one asked about dessert. We even give up about the bill and went to the bar to pay. It wasn't even that busy tonight. This is the same every time we visit, it's a shame because the food is really nice. It wasn't just us, we herd other people trying to get the attention of the staff, but with no luck

I was working in the local area so booked a night at the Premier Inn, Denton. Booking online was seamless and checking in was just as easy. The reception staff member was super friendly and helpful. The room was a good size and spotlessly clean. The free and paid for Wi-Fi was impossible to access from my room, but I could access in the adjoining restaurant. I had phone signal, so had to use that instead. The bed was comfy and there is plenty of tea, coffee on milk in the room and easily accessible in reception.
