Very cute place, has great potential, but the staff member seemed uninterested and didn't act as if he wanted to be there

I am gutted that this cafe is clising down.It is one of my favorite cafes to visit in Colwyn Bay .Lovely cakes ,especially the home made flap jacks and reasonable prices compared to many other cafes.Lee the gentleman who serves me is good fun. Cafe is always clean and tidy ,even when busy .I will miss this place greatly 😔

Horrendous service, no one seems to know what is going on. Waited 40 minutes for two Ciabatas which never came, meanwhile people who arrived after us were getting their food! Headless chickens springs to mind, no systems and staff repeatedly trying to give the wrong food to people. Worst of all, we witnessed perfectly good food being thrown into non-food waste bins because they couldn't figure out who had ordered it, absolutely criminal way to run a business!

Love this place. Food is yummy, people lovely.

Its a lovely place to come the staff are nice they have free WiFi as well as a toilet. I love places that have a large clean toilet. The cakes are home made and the coffee is lovely. They have a good ethos with the staff they employ. Give it a try you'll be glad you did.

Very friendly staff. Food was excellent, I had the Full English and I was very definitely not disappointed, tasty sausages, nice thick slices of bacon, field mushrooms fresh tomatoes and plenty of it.

Another visit to this little gem of a place for the second to last them night this year, and again the food is incredible. I'm told the theme night will continue next year from March with an Irish night, I would recommend for anyone to attend atlest one. They are truly unbelievable value,restaurant quality food and quite a decent price, I had Conwy Mussels for starter, good locally sourced ingredients, Welsh black beef short ribs in a red wine reduction, so tender they fell off the bone, and a trfle to follow and rounded off by a good old fashioned tequila sunrise.Get yourselves booked in people give these guys your support you won't regret it.

Another theme night and another thoroughly enjoyable evening. All courses were incredible and great value, I can't wait for the next one

Coffee's are really good, Staff are helpful. The premises are really clean and the loo's are spotless. Recommended!

Very helpful staff & good lunch

Ordered all day breakfast which came with burnt bacon, j asked for more less done and was given more burnt bacon that had been deep fried and was coated in oil.

I have been to a few of the theme night here but this was my favourite by far, the good food was amazing, and the service exceptional I really can't advise people enough to visit this gemof a place in the normal day to day or for it's theme night I would 100% recommend this place to anyone. Absolutely amazing place

In the area Easter Saturday, found Porters by chance while visiting the Artisan market. Ordered 2 small breakfasts with tea! Everything cooked to perfection very tasty and excellent value for money. What makes this place is the friendly staff nothing too much trouble. Thank you! Will definitely visit again if in the area.

Had coffee here many times but last week went to their evening themed Fish Night. Everything beautifully cooked and presented. Friendly efficient staff a very pleasant evening thank you.

Just been to Porter’s first themed night. Can’t praise the team enough, from start to finish it was a fantastic evening. The service was great - helpful and friendly staff, food was delicious and there was a really good atmosphere. Really looking forward to the next one next month. Thanks, and well done

Popped in for a late breakfast / brunch. Very friendly staff. Lovely and clean with nice decor. Food was excellent, I had avocado and poached egg on toasted bloomer bread, my partner had a large breakfast. Everything was cooked to perfection and we both really enjoyed it. Coffee was exceptionally good as well. Little gem of a place. Would highly recommend. Thanks.

first visit to this cafe, recommended by the old lady outside, we took a gamble and went in,nice bacon rolls, good service although food was a tad slow in arriving.

Very slow service. Food and drink was nice and inexpensive. Sadly, the chef had to go home so the kitchen was shut, but we all got refunds for the things that they couldn't make. The above review is based on everything. This cafe would be good if it didn't take 40 minutes to get 2 millionaires shortbreads out and a few coffees.

was just expecting a cafe , but so much more. Great greeting (manager I think) hygiene and covid stuffs very high and all seating is Perspex anti sneeze guards . food great , service great , price great/ the above rating is mainly based on price and service by staff on the day. This occasion I would have to rate as 5 star

Excellent service! Stopped for a coffee and a bacon bap (both amazing!) with our dog, and while we ate/drank outside they brought out a bowl of water for the dog which I thought was really considerate.

Nice coffee, lovely cake. Plenty of sanitizer and good distance between tables too.

Always friendly staff here which seem to make the other customers friendlier. Had a lovely pot of tea and a burger today. Delicious. Server was constantly clearing and cleaning tables. Felt very safe.

We'd originally intended to eat at a nearby pub, but it wan't doing food, so popped here. Really friendly staff and a nice sandwich. Outside seating was nice too.

Really good food and lovely staff.

Everytime we go for a coffee or something to eat we get quality service from all the staff that work there. In particular Craig, he greets us with a warm welcome and caters for anything we need. Service is quick even at busy times and quality of food and drinks is excellent. During these Covid 19 times, we have visited them on a regular basis once they were allowed to reopen. I have to say the precautions they have put in place is second to none. Once arriving we are asked to sanitise our hands at the free set up station they have. Once we are escorted to our table we are advised to fill out the Track and Trace questionnaire, and this happens every single time a visit is made. All the staff wear face masks at all times, which is very reassuring to know as we have been to many places recently that have not undertaken proper anti virus precautions or even Track and Trace, but these guys do it properly and to the letter. I commend them on a very professionally run set up from start to finish. This is the only place we feel completely safe to visit and have food and drink considering our family members are not young and in the danger category, they feel safe. This is an important regime that businesses need to do to keep customers coming back time and again. Well done Porters, I just wish other places would organise themselves as good as they have done. We will be back time after time after time. Thanks guys keep up the brilliant work you do. Bryan.

Pleasant staff and tasty mocha.

Honestly one of the nicest cafes I have been to. Very friendly & welcoming people who work there and looks very nice inside. I ordered a hot chocolate and it was honestly the most amazing one I have ever had before. Would definitely go there again. Also I maybe would have rated 5/5 but I haven't tried the food there yet, will do next time

Superb service and simple menu. The coffe here is good. Also a social enterprise giving people a volunteer or work opportunity. The Cesar salad was really good and recommended.

We visited Colwyn Bay for the Welsh Rally on Saturday We ordered coffees and cakes our friend decided on a vanilla slice when he opened it it was covered in mould. Promptly taken back , the owner asked if we would like another as he through the returned one in the bin No thank you. No apology, No return of money and he didn’t even check the other vanilla slices still left in the cabinet on the counter The coffee was nice Sadly not impressed with owners attitude towards customers health

Day tripping the north Wales coast, we drove into Colwyn Bay. Our first mistake was to park in the railway station. £4.50 - honestly? The clouds had moved away & we were in lovely September sunshine, but the town centre depressed our mood. I admit the town still has the Victorian custom of shutting businesses for a day mid-week (Wednesday), but it felt dead with hardly anyone around & so little to engage with. We called at Porters for a light lunch. There were 3 visible staff & 2 customers. Our arrival doubled the customer base. I ordered the Tuna salad which was both delicious & generous in portion size. My gripe was that, despite a lack of customers, the time taken to bring the food to the table must have included the time it takes to line catch the fish! My wife's pancakes & syrup were also enjoyable. The rest room was immaculate & well equipped.

We have always enjoyed our coffee here, however Saturday 7th September was a joke. We were told that there was at least a 15 minute wait for the coffees but no reason why. We decided to sit outside as it was sunny and we weren't in a rush. After more than 15 minutes I went inside to see what was going on. A chap was complaining about his coffee not being warm enough and asked for it to be warmed up in the microwave. I heard the waitress say that the coffee machine wasn't heating properly. After another 5 minutes ours arrived and they were lukewarm. We drank them as we couldn't wait any longer but on reflection we felt that the manager at Porters should have made the decision not to serve coffee as it really was unacceptable.

Often visit this place, I love the pancake stacks and they do a great breakfast bap and their specials can be quite good too. Staff are always nice and it's always clean and you don't normally have difficulty getting a table. Fab.

Called in here for a latte and a pot of tea seating is good and comfortable plenty of room and airy staff were very good and the drinks came quickly and a cake that we had ordered both were up to standard and the price competitive also there is an extensive menu for hot food breakfasts etc .We enjoyed our food and drink there is a wall with pictures telling the history of colwyn bay .The one downside was a chap sweeping the floor around us I do appreciate cleaning has to be done but not when we are eating and drinking apart from that blip a good little place to stop over for a break.

I have given this 5 stars, but, not for the food or coffee, which is good. What I didn't know, was this coffee shop, employs and trains people who are disadvantaged, either in learning or background or physically. Please support them, they are doing a wonderful thing.

A little slow in wiping the tables down and cleaning away pots from other customers. Food very average. Would have been better going to mc donalds.

We really enjoyed our recent visit to Helmsley, ending with lunch in Porter's. The open fire was an unexpected bonus even if a bit hot where we sat! There is a very efficient system : select one's food, order and pre-pay at the checkout, the food comes speedily to our table. Lovely home-made soup and the panini came with veg too.

Great place to go for a snack and drink

We arrived here Saturday for a late lunch , we sat outside . From the beginning, very hot aromatic coffee to our perfect egg +:chips then more coffee with shortbread, excellent friendly service . Extremely good value for money ( too cheap ) Thankyou so much , you made our visit to Colwyn Bay a lovely occasion

This has to be one of the best coffee shops I've been to. Great service from attentive, friendly staff, who had time to answer my enquiry about Colwyn Bay's pier which sadly no longer exists. The cafe is spotless clean and has a good ambiance.

An excellent place for a cup of coffee and a light snack or a meal. Good service, reasonably priced.

Great value for money, amazing selection for breakfast and great coffees! I wish I went for the Porter’s pancake stack though but had the veggie breakfast instead. Everyone else had a nap with a mountain of fillings. I must say that everyone left absolutely satisfied!

Good coffee and tea served with a smile by very helpful and attentive staff. Although we only wanted a drink people next to us were served with a mouth watering breakfast that impressed them and us. It looked very fresh and well cooked and we will return to enjoy such good food ourselves. Tables were cleared promptly and evrything is kept clean including the Loo's.

My friend and I visited Porters, we were greeted with a smile and the food order taken very efficiently. Great Bacon barm cake and the vegetarian Sausage one very tasty too.. Will certainly visit again for the re-play ! Very clean throughout . ...

Nice place to have breakfast before exploring the town

There are plenty of cafes if you need a hot drink while shopping in town to take the weight off your poor feet.Porters are no different... excellent variety of hot and cold drinks,snacks and cakes! Where Porters in Station Road excel is in their efficient but friendly customer service!Toilet facilities are always hygienically clean too! So if you need a good cuppa,friendly service and a clean look whilst out shopping call into Porter's! You won't be disappointed.

I knew from the outside that this coffee shop would be good on the inside, just as you can tell by the label of a wine bottle.
