Great place, very reasonably priced

Thai iced latte was amazing scenery and decor is great. However, the birds and fish need a bigger tank and cage.

Poppy's have three more restaurants in Hammersmith and just of Fulham Palace Road equally as good. Never disappointed.

CASH ONLY - lost customers there

Service was unfriendly, my food was cold and we were stuck in a hurricane of a draught right next to the front door and when we asked very nicely if something could be done it seems they did not want to remove the door stop which was keeping the door cracked open. Nothing but water and juice on offer, no Jasmine or Green Tea and the bill which we had not requested was slapped down on the table as soon as we had finished eating our main courses, no dessert, nothing warm to drink, absolutely freezing cold, I was very happy to get out of there...never going back.

To put it in simple words: best Thai food I’ve had in a while. The restaurant is small and such a pleasant environment. Staff is polite and helped us picking the dishes. So so tasty, highly recommend. Interesting decor, affordable prices and BYO wine.

Used to be great. The smell that hits you when you enter isn’t of roses. The place needs a good scrub. Food mediocre, service lazy and unfriendly. Won’t be paying it a return visit.

The food here is amazing, particularly the curries. The lunch offers are ridiculously cheap. A lot of food that is vegan or can be veganized.

The only downside was that I had to see poor carp in a terrible condition while eating food. The container seemed too small for them and please clean the water.. Apart from that, food was amazing.

Came on a rainy night and received a welcome reprieve! First of all, it is cash only, but there is a post office that’s only 4 mins away. The food was lovely, the decor -as you can see- is very unique and great for a date. The waiter was fairly hands off, but in a good way, we gestured when ready to order and pay etc whilst he helped the back kitchen. Would definitely return :)

Very strange restaurant. Bad service with the funny entrance door. The take away drivers were always coming in and and out. They never closed the door properly. So you always feel cold in this small restaurant. No hot tea to drink. Food wasn’t tasty for us. Not very clean. Plus cash only….

An amazing little place. The weeping tiger steak was incredible. Feels like home cooked food! Recommended by friends from Thailand for it's authenticity. All the plates are different to each other, the decor is very different to I expected and the foods amazing. Is cash only so bare that in mind.

Who doesn't want to have dinner with a unicorn! Probably the best Thai food I ever had in London. Very alternative decor with embalmed animals, mirrors, flowers, candelabra, portraits, statues...a potpourri of unusual objects to create a out-of-time-and-space bohemian atmosfere. Great place for a date! Only 6 or 7 tables, friendly staff. You can book only with a phone call outside dinner time. Cash only! No alcohol served, you can bring your own bottle of wine. Bit far away from city centre but it totally worths a visit! A must go place!

The place is so small and cozy with strange decor . There wasn’t much customers. The service was ok. I got the curry it was good but the fried rice wasn’t as expected from Thai restaurant.

Lovely Thai restaurant. Little away from Hammersmith station but not too far. It’s very cute and small. I recommend making a booking as there’s not many tables. The quality of the food is great and the prices are amazing. Best £13 I’ve spent in a long long long time. We had a few different dishes: beef massaman curry, papaya salad, spring rolls, chicken pad Thai and a stir fry dish. The spring rolls weren’t the best I have ever had but everything else was great. The papaya salad is quite spicy so be wary if you order it! it is also BYOB and the charges for it aren’t extortionate like other places. Really loved it and worth the trip even if you’re not around the area.

Budget Thai restaurant with an interesting interior. The food was delicious. We ordered pork panang curry, beef pad see ew, prawn rolls, and sticky rice. Cash only. Overall, it was a good experience, but I feel a bit uneasy sitting around the taxidermy ornaments.

Though it’s closed today in the holidays I’ll be definitely going there again, I’ve been to Poppy’s many times and it’s very popular. Depends what you order on what you’ll get but I recommend the Chicken Kaprow it’s got a real spicy kick and is the best I’ve had in London though I’ve not been Thailand. I’m not sure why the guy said it’s the worst Thai he’s tried maybe he was having a bad day, perhaps he’d not slate a decent place that’s popular with many. Maybe try Pizza Hut? Or Mc Donald’s next time... just saying! It’s a not so bad I’ll definitely be going there again Shall just say be prepared to see a load of taxidermy if you go there to eat... someone appears to have had a liking for it when decorating Poppy’s! Yes there are bad Thai takeaways, but Poppy’s isn’t one of them to my knowledge.

Acabo de pedir algo de comida a través de uber eats y es la peor comida tailandesa que he probado. Viví en Tailandia, mi mejor amigo es tailandés y puedo cocinarlo yo mismo. Pedí curry penang que era aguado, cangrejo de caparazón suave que estaba frito, por lo que era el único plato que era comestible. . . . . pad thai que estaba hecho con una salsa de tamarindo horrible y ensalada de mariscos yum wonsen que tenía 2 langostinos y algunos anillos de calamar gomosos y estaba cubierta con hojas de ensalada verde a medio cocer que no entran en la receta, pimientos rojos y verdes y apio para que toda la ensalada sabía a apio que se supone que ni siquiera debe estar allí y el chef usó tanta salsa de pescado que lo hizo demasiado salado y no comestible. Primera y última vez que pedí de este restaurante. Evite a cualquier precio. ¡También se quejó de uber eats!

The food at poppy's is ok. They have a nice lunch deal but there is nothing special about their food, some of their dishes are rather bland. Although, the atmosphere of the restaurant is great and the interior is well decorated.

Great little place and good food. Website could have the opening times added and a little bit more room around the tables would also help. But we had a lovely dinner and it’s a BYO

Really beautiful and fun interior, BYOB was also very handy! All of our food was very sweet, (tastey but too sweet to finish any of the curry sauces), if I go back I’ll ask for far less sugar in the sauces (or none at all). Other than that we loved it!

I haven’t tasted then all over London, but this must be the best Fish’n chips in London. Actually the place was given the award for the best place some years ago. Cool laid back place, cool staff and music from the fiftys, from Motown. It was my girlfriends birthday so we got some Special treatment. Been there twice since. Not far from Queens Theatre, and an Ann Summers store, if you’re interested;)

Lo probé ya que es local a pesar de las críticas polarizadas. Comida para llevar ordenada al final dado que parecía muy apretada cuando entré. La clásica sopa de curry verde / tom yam estaba bien. Rollos de primavera ídem. Los salteados eran pobres. Ensalada suave y muy occidentalizada. La comida en su conjunto carecía de alma. Este lugar no es el peor tailandés de la zona, pero no hay nada que destacar aparte de la decoración.

They have a great lunch meal deal, £5 or £7 (with starter). You can pick curry, pad Thai, ect.....The place is right out of Alice in Wonderland.. 😋😋

I used to love this place but got really disappointed after the last visit. We were a big group and all of us got shocked about the rude staff . We are not coming back again.

Despite being the tiniest and most cramped restaurant I've ever visited, Poppy's does authentic Thai food so well. The menu is full of classics that make it so difficult to decide on what to eat, but luckily it's so reasonably priced that you can order a few things to try without breaking the bank. You can bring your own alcohol to save on costs, and there's a convenient off-licence just a few steps away, where you can get whatever alcohol you wish. There's a corkage fee of £2 per person. The only downside is the influx of Deliveroo drivers that enter every two minutes to collect orders, and because the restaurant is so small, you're often bumped on their way in and out. The door constantly opening (and no one shutting it on their way out) makes the restaurant super cold as well. We were also told to leave as soon as other people were waiting - fair enough we had finished our food but still had a full glass of wine each to finish... so it can feel a little rushed but we were attending a concert straight after so we didn't mind too much. I'd definitely visit Poppy's again if I was in the area, but a reservation is an absolute must due to the restaurant only having about six tables. Oh, and be prepared for the wild and quirky decor - too - far too extravagant for my liking but I guess it adds to the restaurant's uniqueness.

My daughter lives nearby but hadn't eaten in Poppy's before. So she was very happy to try it out when we found the nearby pubs didn't serve food in time for us to get to the Troubadour Theatre in Wembley Park for 7:30. A fascinating place as many of the reviews have mentioned. Service was very quick (ideal for us) and we enjoyed fried calamari along with our prawn curry and stir-fried duck. All simply cooked and tasty. And reasonably priced too! Though be prepared - it's cash only.

There appear to be three Poppy's restaurants. We went to the original, Poppy's 1 (surprise) because it was the closest and the weather was extremely inclement. It's tiny and had,as far as we could tell, about 6 diners and 8 spare covers. We were told that with no booking, they were too busy so we went to Poppy 3, a short walk. Apparently, number 1 was full for the night so couldn't accommodate us!!! More of that later, this was at 5.50pm. Poppy 3 said they could accommodate us so long as we were out by 7.30pm. This was just after 6pm. The decor is very unusual with a lot of stuffed birds and dried flowers but not unpleasant. Sadly, my starter was not great. I had Thai style calamari which was basically calamari in batter with a Thai sweet spicy sauce. The batter was soggy. The calamari was just about cooked but not particularly hot. The main course was fine, jungle curry. The side dish was cold and had to be sent back and when it re-arrived, it had clearly been microwaved as part was cold and part was warm and part boiling hot. We were not given full sized plates, there was no room on the table, so we had to eat off the plates the food was served on. The neighbouring table were given full sized plates. (The restaurant was pretty much empty! The bill should have been just over £50 but was £60 which gives the impression that we were somewhat overcharged for home bottled filtered tap water, jasmine tea for two and green tea for one which should be virtually given away for free. The service was not included so we didn't give one. At £20 per head that is reasonable value at the price but the food, overall, was very disappointing. It's cash only. You can BYO but there is a £2 per head corkage, apparently. And we were being politely ushered to pay up by 7.10pm despite the table not being required and half of the restaurant empty when we left. And we had to walk past Poppy's 1 on the way back where we saw that the table we would have had and the one next to it were still empty at 7.30pm. My son and his friend were surprised that we were the only people who they had taken there who didn't like it but to me, having eaten loads of Thai food in restaurants and at home, it was way off the pace and I am amazed the reviews are so good! Maybe it was an off night. Weather wise it was. I wouldn't go as far as to say avoid, but beware! It may not be up to your expectations. I would have given the service in the branch where we ate higher except they seemed very keen to get us out and the original restaurant could have fed us! It was tipping down with rain and we had to walk a further half a mile to this one!

My wife and I dropped in to Poppy’s without a reservation. We were shown to a table, but warned it was reserved for 45 minutes later. That was fine with us.

We had a takeaway from Poppy's, and we're all very impressed with the food. The Pad Thai and Green Curry were excellent, however, the duck (sadly the dish I was most looking forward to) was a bit chewy, and slightly let down what otherwise would have been a five star meal. We still plan to go back though!

I booked a table for two here a couple of weeks ago, and was expecting great food from the reviews. Unfortunately we never got to try the food. When we arrived the next next day for lunch, the restaurant was empty, lights off, but the door still open. It didn’t look like they were ready for lunch service, despite them being open according to their advertised hours. As the door was open, we walked in to claim our reserved table, but never made it that far. When we asked the woman in the kitchen if we could sit down at our booked table we were met with a cold stare, and no response. After repeating our question several times, she still said nothing, instead speaking to someone else in the kitchen, and getting out her phone at some point to make a phone call, all without properly acknowledging us. Eventually we decided that it was not worth the hassle, and left to have lunch elsewhere at a place with actual customer service. Would not recommend, unless you don’t mind being treated like an inconvenience rather than a paying customer.

Had a pre concert dinner with my husband who had been craving Thai food for ages. The cafe itself is absolutely tiny and decorated to within an inch of its life with very quirky items. The food was absolutely delicious with authentic flavours. Service was very fast which as we were heading on somewhere else was not a problem. However, if we had been going out for dinner as the main event it would have felt rushed. We are very pleased we found Poppy's with reasonably priced, tasty food and BYO alcohol which always makes costs more manageable. We will definitely be going back or trying the other two Poppy's cafes in the future.

Went to Poppy’s III with family and what a surprise I had. It’s like walking into a quaint tearoom with chandeliers, taxidermy and vintage crockery. Food was delicious and service good. Bring your own alcohol which keeps the prices down. Highly recommend.

I took my 90 year old father out for a Thai meal and we visited the restaurant for the first time. I had the green curry which was delicious. My wife and father had Pad Thai with tofu and prawns respectively which they both enjoyed very much. The food had great flavours and had very fresh ingredients, The only negative aspect unfortunately was that the restaurant is very small and we had a big group next to us which made it quite cramped.

This is a top Thai restaurant in West London. We all really enjoyed our food and the atmosphere and decor was eclectic and vibrant.

Fuimos a Poppy’s III, que estaba a pocas cuadras de la de Glenthorne Road. Todo para amar en este lugar. Grandes interiores detallados, excelente lugar para conversaciones tranquilas. Amplia variedad de selección de alimentos, ¡gran sabor sobre todo! Y a un precio bastante razonable. Gran lugar, buena comida, buena relación calidad-precio.

Davvero un bel posto tipico con un ottima accoglienza e rapidità del servizio. Un locale pieno di storia nella quale ci hanno mangiato molti vip. Ottimo fish n chips con patatine molto buone e il tutto con ottima frittura. Le porzioni sono molto abbondanti. Però c é da dire che il filetto di baccalà fritto alla romana lo batte alla grande... Comunque assolutamente da provare

Grandsons wanted fish and chips and this place had just what they were looking for. I had the fish cakes and they were delicious. Fast friendly service, funky atmosphere, great choice!

My sister and I were off to see a concert at the Apollo and on searching for a recommendation on a Trip Advisor came across Poppy’s. Oh my word, I am so glad we did!! The decor is a little quirky but this only adds to the uniqueness of the place. The food was amazing and freshly cooked. Superb flavours, well priced and with BYO it is a relatively inexpensive evening - such a welcome change. We will be back very soon!!

The waitress had a heavy cold, toilets were filthy. Place is quirky but needs a deep clean. Food ok. Do not change cutlery inbetween courses. Place is cramped with uber food order constantly. I would not visit again.

4 people dining ordered a range of starters and mains all of which were delicious, particularly the Soft Shell Crab and Garlic & Pepper Fish. Service was quick and efficient and BYOB helps to make this an excellent value restaurant, Loved the decor too and will return soon.

I’ve eaten in and supported this place from the day it opened but having ordered a delivery one night I will never eat there again. We were working late so had Uber eats deliver . The food was shockingly awful. The usual crispy fish with 3 flavoured sauce was a soggy watery mess with no cashew nuts as per the menu , just over cooked peppers. The chicken stir fry was just about ok but bland and over cooked. All in all a very poor and disappointing meal, we threw most of it in the bin . Having tried to book with 7 work colleagues the week before and being told we had to book an expensive set menu, I won’t be going back . It seems they have forgotten their regulars who made them popular by writing good reviews.

This is a tiny little place that is extremely popular. Food was nice and service was polite. You can BYO which is great and continues to keep the cost down. Poppy's has a hygiene rating of 4 but I found the toilet a bit off putting. No hand dryer or paper towel or anything else to dry your hands.

The service was great, the decor is extremely eccentric and unique (a huge fake blossom tree, stuffed animals everywhere), and the food is very very cheap. The off-licence next door does great wines.

This is a truly quirky little Place that is very well worth a visit. The striking things as pointed out elsewhere are the cosy size.. (make sure you book!) and the fantasy decor... Unicorns giraffes and assorted animals hiding in every corner. If you don't like taxidermy... Avoid... If you don't mind then it's a marvellously exotic and amusing collection. Service was polite and engaging and despite how busy it was we were never rushed. The food itself was good and very reasonable. Its a bring your own booze place with no Corkage charge so very good value for a memorable. And fun evening. We had a variety of starters... All good though fish cakes a little dissapointing and a number of main courses. Red curry very good with sticky rice. It's such a different quaint place that is utterly Individual that it should definitely be on your book and visit list.

The two things you immediately notice when you walk through the doors is how tiny the place is (5 tables) and the decor. Stuffed animals - from rabbits to birds to a giraffe wearing a top hat - surround you, so you better be comfortable with taxidermy. The bright, floral interiors make it seem like a quirky aunt's living room rather than a hunting lodge though, and it all makes for interesting dinner conversation.

We reserved a table after a recommendation. ( would definitely recommend booking)The restaurant is very small but crammed full with quirky artefacts. We received a warm welcome from staff. We all chose the assorted platter with an extra crab starter. It was delicious, the crab was amazing! We all ordered different mains with a variety of chicken and prawn dishes with different rices as an accompaniment. All were delicious. The portion sizes were good. The bill was £16 each - what a bargain!

I had to check out the much talked about Poppy's which is not too far from where I live. We booked and turned up fairly early in the evening, it wasn't busy at all. After ordering our food, I started noticing a string of Deliveroo drivers coming in - almost one every 2 minutes. We didn't have much issues with our starters but the time between our starters took almost 45 minutes. In the meantime, bags of orders flew out the door, whilst we waited patiently for our mains. I had to ask where my food was a couple of times. I think I would have finished eating if I had just ordered from Deliveroo rather than sitting in the tiny space, with the door opening every 2 minutes on a cold winter's evening. Verdict - food's decent, nothing exceptional. The decor is quirky with stuffed animals. You can get similar standard Thai food elsewhere in the area without having to put up with the constant stream of Deliveroo riders. No apology for the late food either. I don't think I'll be coming back. Would be interesting to see how quickly I'll get my food if I order from Deliveroo.

What an amazing place - really quirky decor, amazing food and SUCH good value. We had a 2-course lunch for £7 and it was excellent in all ways. Sadly we don't live close otherwise I'd be there every week! I would highly recommend it.

Took my wife and son to Poppy's for his birthday dinner. The restaurant is very small and you are surrounded by a lot Victorian stuffed animals which rather put off my wife. The food however was excellent. We did have to wait a bit for one main course but my son said it was worth waiting for. Very good value but be aware they do not take plastic - cash only!

Fuimos con los niños a Poppy hoy para presentarles la comida tradicional tailandesa. Fueron completamente agarrados por la decoración con todos los animales. Les encantaron los entrantes y disfrutaron del plato principal también. Mi marido y yo también estábamos contentos con la comida. La única razón para que les dé 4 estrellas es porque las opciones para los principiantes son principalmente fritas y me inclino por opciones más saludables. Sin embargo estaremos allí pronto.
